CProjects - Business Package setup

Hello All,
Just a quick one - Is it necessary to install the java component (CPRXRPM_UI) if you donot intend to use xrpm in the 4.0 release.
Or can we just import the business package in the portal to use cprojects on top of the backend installation.
Cheers
vishal

  • Does ESS business package have Recruitment in it

    Hi Experts,
My Doubt is can we get Standard content of Recruitment as a part of ESS.?
( Content regards to content in Portal)
what are the business packages which have Recruit standard content.
is it possible to include the recruitment standard in ESS?
I am not well versed with the BPs ..help in clearing these doubts
    With Regards,
    Dayakar.
Edited by: DayakarMaidsetty on May 4, 2010 1:40 PM

I think believe ESS provides the following Recruitment content
    Career and Job
    Technical name: com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_career_job
    Use
Employees can use the applications in this area to:
    ·        Maintain their candidate profile
    ·        Display an overview of the data in the candidate profile
    ·        Release candidate profile
    ·        Apply directly to a job posting
    ·        Search for suitable jobs
    ·        Display a list of job postings that they have stored as favorites
    ·        Send applications
    ·        Store personal settings
    ·        Maintain their skills profile
I guess install the BP, setup ER and see whats available
The specific ESS view could be a mix of WD JAVA iviews or apps, BSP and WD ABAP depending on the ESS and ER version
Certainly it is possible to incorporate more PA-ER BSP or WD ABAP applications into the ESS role via a custom iview and role
    Best wishes

  • Impact on changing ECC client on the working of ESS business package in EP

    Dear Experts,
We had ESS business package working fine in our EP 7.0 which connected to client 100 of ECC 6.0.
Now we changed to client 700 in ECC 6.0.
Now all is working OK except for the Personal Data piece (address, bank etc).
The first screen shows up OK but when we review it we get the error :
Access via NULL object reference not possible.,error Key:RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
The user is setup the same way as that in ECC 100.
The JCO is working correctly.Get successful message when we click "TEST".
I have used USER/PWD in both meta data and application data (though it is said to use Ticket and User/Pwd.  It worked with ECC Client 100.)
    Appreciate any inputs
    Thanks.

If SO please let me know the Name and Version number?
Also If anybody has Portal Implementation experience in this module Kindly give me some documents............................
    Thanks in Advance,
    Dharani

    Hi,
You can download the business package for project portfolio management from sdn.sap.com at <b>SDN > Developer Areas > Portal > Portal Content Portfolio > Browse Content Portfolio > All Business Packages > Business Package for Project Portfolio Management and Design Collaboration.</b>
The Business Package for Projects, Portfolio Management and Design Collaboration (PPMDC) 4.0 combines portfolio management with operational project management by offering access to SAP cProject Suite (cProjects and cFolders) and SAP xApp Resource and Portfolio Management (xRPM) via SAP Enterprise Portal.
This is compatible with the NW2004s Portal. We have used this business package for integrating the xRPM system into the Portal.
    Hope this helps!!!

  • Issue regarding Cognos 82 Business Package iviews on SAP NW 7.0 Portal

    Hello,
We have recently deployed Cognos business package (com.cognos.cognos82.epa) in NW 7.0 and followed the documentation provided by Cognos (i.e. Installing and Configuring Cognos8 on a SAP Portal). When testing the Cognos iView, we are getting the following error message:
    =======================================================
    Unable to process the request.
CPS-CCM-1204 The method "initCookie" of the Markup interface failed.
A more detailed description of the error that occurred can be found in the log.
    =======================================================
Has anyone run into this error before?
Another Question: Do we have to define a Cognos System in Portal Landscape? (This was not mentioned in the documentation!)
Any help on this would be very much appreciated and also I will provide points.  Please help me on this
    With Regards,
    Sudheer

    Hello Sudheer,
Get Cognos to provide you the documentation on "Enabling Single Signon with Cognos8..."
In addition to importing the Cognos business package, you need to setup a SSO between Cognos and Portal.  so, your Cognos support should be able to provide you documentation on setting up SSO.
    hope this helps.
    regards,

  • Business Package for Projects 50.3

    Hi.
We are about to use the above business package but get an error message in the external service iViews included in the cProjects workset.
Error message: SAPApplication Backward Compatibility Component
When we assign the System Administration role or Super Administration role to our test user everything works fine but this is not a suitable solution.
Has anyone experienced the same problem or do you know how to solve the problem?
    Portal version: 7.0
    cProjects version: 3.0
    Thanks in advance.
    BR
    Søren Bessermann

I have and it is ok.
I might add that the role is shown correctly in the navigation and the error message is shown in the iView.
Security Zones should be sufficient as well why I don't know from where the difference in permissions comes from.

  • Business Package for Colloboration Projects

    hi, experts
I would like to know about the deployment about PPDMC (Projects, Portfolio Management and Design Collaboration). I need to deploy the PPMDC to EP 7.0.
As follows the xRPM installation guide, I need to install the CPRXRPM_UI. Is it right?
Actually, I can not find the the installation guide of PPMDC for cProjects. I got the installation guide for xRPM.
If we do not need to follow the xRPM installation guide, can I upload the PPMDC without CPRXRPM_UI using JSPM?
Please, let me know how to figure it out.
    Thank you for your concern.
    from beginner (Alex)
<b>reference</b> as belows, from the BP for PPMDC40SP6
The Business Package for Projects, Portfolio Management and Design Collaboration
(PPMDC) 4.0 enables you to combine strategic portfolio management with operational project
management by offering access to SAP cProject Suite (cProjects and cFolders) and SAP
xApp Resource and Portfolio Management (xRPM) via SAP Enterprise Portal.
For information about the configuration process to enable the Business Package for Projects,
Portfolio Management, and Design Collaboration (PPMDC) 4.0 to run in the SAP Enterprise
Portal, see the SAP xRPM 4.0 Java Component Installation Guide on SAP Service

    Hi Santosh
You can view the entire list of Business Packages on SDN itself. Just browse to the Developer Areas -> Enterprise Portal -> Portal Content Portfolio. On the Quick Links area, click on List of Packages. You will then be able to see the list. Check if what you are looking for is available there.
    Hope that helped.

  • Changing Business Package ( I award good points )

If for example I import a business package into portal and I try to assign roles defined in the portal to the roles in the business package what are the considerations. Also pls let me know if can I change any particular object in the standard business package e.g. changing Iview properties.
Is it recomended or I need to always make a Delta Link/copy of the object in question and do the changes.
    Thanks.
    Nirmal

    Nirmal,
I don't think adding your roles to business package roles should cause you any problems provided you setup the Permissions on the content itself properly, e.g. setting your existing content up with Permissions allowing the business package roles to access them.
If you are going to change anything on the business package content then I would create a delta-linked copy in a new folder of the same name as the original, but inder your content folders, otherwise when u upgrade or patch the new business package content will probably overwrite your changes. In any case it wont be immediately apparent that you have made changes to the standard content or what those changes are if you edit the original content.
    Cheers,
    Steve

  • Business package for project management

I'd like to integrate this functionality in my SAP Portal 6.0, and maybe any Business Package should be the best way...

  • CRM Business Package 60.2.3 Config

I'm trying to configure this business package in EP6 SP14 but I'm getting a number of problems. I think I have setup the required system definitions in the PCD as per the documentation.
I have also been told to configure the table CRMC_PRT_CUSTOM but have conflicting information as to the contents, or even whether this is necessary at all.
I have the Interaction Centre webclient and Service Orders iViews up and running. If I click on a link in Service Orders, e.g. the one to maintain a business  partner, I get the following error:
BSP Exception: the Application Name com.sap.pct.crm.ServiceManager in URL /roles/com.sap.pct.crm.ServiceManager/AccountsProducts/nf/nf_2/MaintainAccounts?DynamicParameter=CRM_OBJECT_TYPE%3dACCOUNTCRM%26CRM_BOR_TYPE%3dBUS1006%26CRM_OBJECT_ID%3d38%26CRM_LOGSYS%3dDCRCLNT100%26sap-syscmd%3dnocookie is invalid.
Can anyone explain what is causing the error and how I go about fixing it?
    Cheers,
    Steve

    Hi,
In general, in order to be able to download, the following prerequisites apply:
    - you need to hold the license of the Business Package
    - you need to be signed in to SDN with you Service Marketplace user
    - user mapping for the data source 'Service Marketplace' needs to be maintained
If the problem persists, please send an email with the error description to directly to [email protected]
It would be best if you can include screenshots in case you receive error messages.

  • Best Practice in using Business Packages

    Hi All,
Are there any Best Practices in the use of Business Package content?   Do you assign the Roles delivered by the Business Package and do you make changes to the original iViews?
    or
Do you copy the content delivered in the Business Package to a new folder and work with there?
These questions are purely at the configuration level and not at the Java coding level.   For instance if I want to turn of the iView Tray, or change a parameter such as height, or even remove an iView from a page or Role.
I would like to know the various approaches the SDN community uses and the different challenges and benefits that result in each approach.
Look forward to hearing from you all
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
I also build my own roles. The only time I might use the standard roles is for demo purposes early in a project.  You will find that in some cases the business packages like MSS don't always even include standard roles, so you have no choice but to build.
I never change any of the standard iViews/Pages/Worksets - ever.
The most contentious issue seems to be whether to do a full or delta link copy of the standard objects.  I tend to initially do a full copy of the objects into a custom folder set in the PCD and modify those. Then I only use delta links from Page to iViews where I need the option of setting different properties for the same iView if it appears in multiple pages.  Delta links can be a bit flakey at times, so I tend to only use them where I have to.  I suspect that I may get to a point where I don't use them at all.
    Just my 2 cents worth....
    Regards,
    John
