CProjects DMS Integration

Hi,
I am working on cProjects and trying to understand integration with Easy DMS.
Can anyone explain the following :
2)What further ability does the integration offer in addition to the document management functionality in cProjects? I understand that the documents are stored in DMS as Document Inforecord with integration.
3) Can a user create document Info records in DMS from cProjects or does cProjects just allow the user to link to a record created in EDMS ?
4) And finally, could some one direct me to any documentation on cProjects and Easy DMS Integration, if any ?

Hello, you can create Document Info record directly from cProjects. First step you need to define in the "Define Project type". You need to check the box for SAP DMS. Also inside cross application for DMS, go inside define document types and you have to include the object "DPR_OBJLINK" for the document type that you would be interested. Once inside cProjects, SAP DMS button would be visible and you may proceed creating Document Info record. It automatically creates in the backend SAP system. You can also load the documents inside that. In case you need more information please let me know your email address and I would send you the screen shots.

Hi Experts,
I need to use cProjects integration with DMS. When I try to create a link to an existing document I find the following error:
26 036 You are not authorized for with document type DRW
My user has authorization to the doc type in the DMS system (linked by RFC to cProjects system). I also have defined the object link in the document type.
Do you know which configuration may be missing?

How is the RFC connection established between DMS and cProjects system? Do check the authorizations of the RFC user through which the connection is established.

CProjects-PS Integration (Automat. Case) PS profile missing from install.

We need to create PS-project automatically form cProject project. We know there is a standard project profile cProjects-PS Integration (Automat. Case) for this purpose. However, for some reason this profile is not installed in our development system. SAP told us to manually create this profile and so we did, but still we are not able to create the PS-project. Have someone else had the same problem? Is there something else required to get the profile working than just creating it? We donu2019t find any IMG node where the PS profile would be activated to automatic creation.
Any help appreciated

Difficult to say what is wrong here.
Did you check the error messages in the Controlling Cockpit in your PS system? Transaction COCPCPR.

CProjects-PS Integration - ERROR

We are on PPM5.0
We are working in cProjects-PS integration.
At the flag for transfer, we get to see cockpit errors (COCPCPR).
"Entry Profit Center = SAP-DUMMY does not exist in CEPC (check entry)"
There are some more errors but the source of all other seems to be the one above.
How can we get rid of this error?
How can we refer to some other profit center so that the system does not reference this?
Or else, what is the other option?

Hi Milind,
For Integrating CATS need to make relevant settings in Project type.
Make settings in Data entry profile.
If cProjects & CATS (ECC) are on seperate servers ref Note 954860 - Setting up ALE to integrate cProjects with CATS.
You also need to have account integration & HR integration to use CATS with cProjects.

At present we have DMS. We are going in for cFolders now.
How do we integrate cFolders and DMS? What are the pre-requisites / configurations needed?

Hi,
please check the cFolders configuration guide (for release 4.0, the guide is also attached in note 973764), chapter u2018cFolders Back-End Integrationu2019 or the Online Help in the SAP Help Portal under http://help.sap.com/ > SAP ERP > SAP cProject Suite > Project and Portfolio Management XX > Design Collaboration with cFolders > cFolders Functions > cFolders Back-End Integration.
For example, you can use the back-end integration for cFolders to exchange DMS documents. In the DMS system (or so-called back-end system), use transaction CFE02 to export DMS documents to cFolders and CFI01 to import documents from cFolders into DMS.
Please read the above documentations to see the system and installation requirements.
Besides creating a RFC destination in transaction sm59, you need to maintain the backend system using transaction CFC01 in the DMS system. At least one cFolders system must be defined in the customizing before backend integration can be used.
In order to allow the user to create new documents in cFolders, he/she needs write and create authorization in the relevant folder.

It is only through the object linkwhich you provide.
In the business perpective, we attach the contract documents, design drawings and other doucuments to the project for ready referance.
You can create the DIR directly from PS transaction or you can create it in DMS and attach it to the Project.
We do have the red lining to identify teh changes reqd in the document.

DMS Integration Issues

Hi All,
I have integrated DMS with KM. I am able to see the files. But I have 2 probs
1: the file names are displayed like this.
10000001,TEC,000,00,469BB43537697394E10000000A02107C
I want to change this. The last part is the "loio"
. I want to remove that and put Description. I have followed this help link

But this is not working for me.
2: When I click a file name (above name in prob 1) , I know its a word file. But its not getting opened in word, All files in KM are opened propery, but not the DMS files.
I think this is the prob with MIMEs, since I am using User Mapping.
How can I solve this issue?
My i am in Netweaver 2004s.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Dear George,
I know exactely this issue only when using older versions of the DMS KM connector. You'd best assure using the latest SP/Patch level.
On such issue I'd anyway file a message on Component EP-PCT-PLM-SR3, guess this will be most efficient here.

DMS integration

How can i interface DMS (Document Management System) like SAPerion with SAP.
Example scenario: a sales contract from SAP is scanned and archive in SAPerion can be retrieve when TMG wants to see the contract they have with the customer.
SAPerion is a document management system links with the Archive link in SAP through its R/Link but how can you retrive such scanned documents against a particular customer?

I think you might have to ask SAPerion directly about this. As you mention one of their integration points is using SAP NetWeaver feature ArchiveLink.
Maybe someone on the "Knowledge Management & Collaboration" or "Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)" forum might have some experience.

DMS integration with QM

Question is towards basic concept of DMS in QM module integration.
I have to upload word document files (8D) report every time I create a Q2 notification. We have DMS, and how to do it in DMS and IN QM02.
My thoughts,
CV01-Create doc info record- Do we have to create a new doc info record each and everytime we get an 8D report?
Document attached to Q Info record- Whether we have so many 8D reports attached in a single document info record?
If many doc assigned to single doc info record- How the link will be available between notifcation and 8D report?
Object assignment- Notification number assigned- It is visible in QM02.
Request someone to help me with a step by step approach while explaining.
Activities I did are created an Doc info record, assigned a MS Word document(8D) report, Oject link-assigned the notification numer. Do I have to create many doc info record or just one, pls guide me.

It means for every Q2 notification, other than QM01, I have to run CV01n also. Am I correct?
My doubt was, in same document type can we assign different photos related to other notifications also. Requirement is that, when I click object link in Notification, it should show only related photos or 8D reports. Not all documents of various notifications together.

A Document in CV01n is document type specific->A document can contains many photos & say Text document->A notification can contain many document type & documents---->Also one document(created in cv01n) can be attached to different notifications.
So my concept of attaching document to notification is always like "You can accumulate all text file ,photos etc in one CV01n document( for one notification) & attach this document in the notification only for which these documents are created"
This avoid great confusion and maintain 1:1 relateion

SAP Archive Link and DMS integration configuration

Hi SAP Gurus,
I have always come across that SAP DMS is very well integrated with SAP Archive link, is that means SAP Archive link can be used as an storage location for storing original application files, in normal DMS check in original CV01N transaction.
does this Archive link appear as an option to be selected to store the original application file at CV01N Transaction, just like we get DMS_C1_ST (default SAP) or any ZDMS_SC01/02 (customised Storage catagories for checking in originals.)
another side iam also comming across SAP Archive link is an entierly different Module and involves different transactions to store documents and original.and no where related to DMS.
iam not able to draw at any conclusion weather to suggest Archive link as an storage medium for DMS check in originals, as i have not used it earlier in DMS.
Can this SAP Archive Link server be used as an sole and single original applicaion file storing system for DMS?
if so will it support all the DMS funtionalities, if not what is this fully integrated means, is it limited to make an copy / transfer of excess DMS files in SAP Archive server from existing DMS server? iam confused

let me put it in a better way,
1) You can store a document against a DIR with the GOS icon instead of in the originals area (called Document Archiving), i did not understand this solution please eloborate. where is this GOS icon in DIR,
2) There is one thing in menu path: Environment / check in archive.
so can we store originals in a Archive server directly by going in to the CV01N transaction.(iam not speaking about transferring Original already stored in a content server)
3) we are having a single archive server to Archive SAP data, can This SAP Archive server be used as an sole and single original file storing system for DMS Also?
4) if so will it support all the DMS funtionalities, if not what is this fully integrated means, is it limited to make an copy / transfer of excess DMS files in SAP Archive server from existing DMS server? iam confused to suggest this solution, as the client is not kneen on buying a separate server to store DMS files.

Internal Order not being created in cProjects-Accounting Integration

Dear All,
We are working on cProjects 4.0 with ECC 6.0,
Trying to do Accounting Integration.
For only one Project I am able to create Internal Order,
But I am getting following error.
Cost/revenue rate YP002 is not valid in organization 00000000
Inspite of assigning these rates to the organization 00000000
For other projects, when I click on accounting:
I get following error
"Single-Obj.Controlling on InternalOrders 0188993B3E343947A046B554FD886E03 000006000032 does not exist"
When I go to Controlling Cockpit, I see this Internal Order not being created.
Have revisited all settings, project type, etc.
How do I go about this.

Dear All,
I was able to solve the one of the problem, with the following settings,
Assign Cost Elements & Activity Types:
Choose Organization, Start & End Dates, Cost and Revenue Elements, Currency.
The start and end date of the cost/ revenue did not fall within the start and end date of the Organization.

CProjects HR Integration: Data format synchronizing

Hi Experts,
Going into the HR Integration synchronizing we are finding an error on the iDocs:
Filtering data for central person 00070355 (IDoc 0000000000000016 , segment 000001 - )
Message no. HRALX00_ORG512
We suspects from some CRM threads that we are missing some data synchronizing between the two systems. How can this data format comparing / synchronization can be done from a cProjects 4.5 system?
