CProjects - HR Master resource in cProjects

Hi All,
The Business Partner (Employee) are the resources used in cProjects.
How do I use the HR Master resources instead? I am able to assign the qualifications to these reosurces but they do no appear in the cProjects front end resource search.
cProjects 4.0.
Regards,

Hi Vivek,
This question did not answer my question but definitely made me think in a direction that helped me resolve the issue to quite an extent. And you get six points!
I am now assignnig qualification for the resource under the 'Business Partner' element under PPPM. And this helps me fetch the resource in resource search based on Qualification.
However, once I staff a role, and then click on the Send email button, I get a message that the email was not sent. Where in the HR master do I specify the email address for the resource. I know where this is done for BP but because we are not using BP, I need to have this done in HR.
Any inputs that you can have for this would be great.
Thanks

Factory Calendar: The factory calendar is defined on the basis of a public holiday calendar. The public holiday and factory calendar is a central module in the SAP System. It is assigned to a specific plant during the initial system setup and therefore used in many areas (e.g. in Logistics and in Human Resources) in the system.
Material Master: Material master comprises if all the basic data of the material for each department. The data covers all the relevant information required for the transactional flow e.g. sales, Planning, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Costing etc. Material master covers all the descriptive and control data and the flow of information depends on fields maintained within it. The integration of all material data in a single database object eliminates redundant data storage. Material Masters are created once and can be changed or extended whenever required
Bill of Materials: Bill of Materials or commonly called BOM is a formally structured list of components that make up a product or assembly. The list contains the material number of the component together with the quantity and unit of measure. BOMs are used in their different forms in various situations where a finished product is assembled from several component parts or materials. Resources: Resources are production facilities and persons involved in a production process that have capacities. They are subdivided into categories to specify their suitability for certain purposes or their use in certain processes
Product Versions: A production version determines which alternative BOM is used together with which task list/master recipe to produce a material or create a master production schedule. For one material, we can have several production versions for various validity periods and lot-size ranges. The production version determines the following:
    • The BOM alternative for a BOM explosion.
    • The task list (master recipe) and any alternate, as needed.
    • Lot-size restrictions and validity parameters.
Master Recipes: A master recipe defines the following data that is required for the production of materials without relating to a particular order: processing steps, resources, material components, and control information for the process control level. Master Recipe enables to plan the production of materials (products). Therefore, Master Recipe is used as a template for process orders and run schedules as well as a basis for product costing. In a Recipe
    • The Phases (work steps) to be carried out during production.
    • The activities to be performed in the operations as a basis for determining dates, capacity requirements and costs.
    • The use of materials during production.
    • The use of resource.

  • Changing Cluster Master node

       Hello,
I have two nodes rac setup. I just need to change the master node to different node in the cluster. How to change the master node?
      Please help me out.

    Hi,
Master Node not exist on RAC and I have pretty sure you are not talking about "OCR Master", you are talking about RESOURCE MASTER.
The only thing closest to something like a "Master" is that only one node has the role to update the Oracle Cluster Registry (OCR), all other nodes only read the OCR.
However this is just a role, which can easily switch between the nodes (but is normally fix as long as the responsible nodes lives).
This node hover is then called OCR master.
How do I change node which hold  "OCR Master"?
You can't decide that and you can't change that manually the Clusterware do it automatically without human intervention.
OCR Master is not a MASTER NODE it's only a role.
    Good answer here:
Re: Identify the OCR master node for 11.2
Re: which node will become master
Please don't confuse the concept of MASTER OCR with RESOURCE MASTER (e.g Data Block).
All nodes hold MASTER RESOURCE, because that I said : all nodes are equal.
With "billions" of data block spread out in memory of cluster (SGA Instances), one node maintains extensive information (i.e Lock, Version, etc) about a particular resource (i.e a data block).
So, one node has master resource of data block "data_01" the other node has a master resource of data block "data_02" and so on. If a node which hold master resource fails (shutdown) GCS choose other node in the cluster to be a MASTER Resource of that particular resource.

I bet LUM is not working properly. Go to OES setup and run through the LUM settings.
I had the same problem after a partially failed migration from OES2 to OES11. Also make sure your OESCommonProxy_servername users are correct. This got all messed up for me.

    Hi
I recently did an online udpate and after a few hours my groupwise
stopped working. I checked out the issue and it seems my NSS drive
storing my GWDATA is not mounting, I am running a hyper V environment
and the scsi drive has enough storage.

  • Error in Discussion Forum and Contacts iviews in SPS 20

    Hi,
We are facing a strange problem with the KM Discussion iview. Recently we upgraded from EP SP15 to SP20. After that, the KM Discussion iviews that we create are throwing errors when viewed. We tried transporting some iviews from a server running on SP15. That too threw the error. The strange thing is that, the discussion iviews which are there in the collaboration rooms are working properly. This problem only seems to affect iviews which are not part of the rooms. Has anyone experienced similar issues?
Also, we are having problems with the Contacts iview. In the New Contact screen, if I give a valid userid and click the save button, it show the name of the user in the text box, but it also shows the error message "User, ID is invalid". I even tried adding the SAP Contacts room part to one of our rooms. Still the problem is there.
Are these two problems part of SP20, or am I missing some configurations?
I am giving the stacktrace I got from the log file for the KM Discussion iview error:

  • Running ant build scripts from cmd fails on Windows Server

    Hi all!
I'm trying to build and package ME on a Windows Server calling the ant build script targets from cmd. This works fine on a Windows XP machine. On a Windows Server machine however the ant internal calls to nwcetool.bat are failing because -files are not found in DEPLOYARCHIVES. And these files are really not there although they should have been created by nwcetool.
Does anyone have a clue why calling ant build script in cmd on a Windows XP machine will work but fails on Window Server?
    Thanks a lot!

  • Backup and Restore of Redis Data

My usage of Azure Redis is a cache to store snapshots of data for an event sourced system. We have millions of events stored in persistent storage that are aggregated and saved to redis. This provides us with fast access to the current state of an entity.
However, to rebuild the Redis cache from scratch would take many hours as the number of events in the system is huge and constantly growing.
How in Azure Redis can we backup and restore data in case of failure? For instance, it would be nice to have access to an rdb file and archive it then restore when needed. We tried setting a non-Azure Redis as a slave of our Azure Redis however this does
not work as it seems the Azure Redis doesn't have write access to it's working directory preventing it from writing an rdb file for sync.
What are the recommended approaches to using Azure Redis as persistent storage? How can we backup/restore or even move data from one redis to another.
    Thanks!

Thanks for the response Mike. The interesting thing is on Saturday this didnt work. Today it looks like it is sync'ing succesfully. Below is the steps and output i saw on Saturday. I started it again today and it looks good so far. I will let it finish the
sync and see what happens now. The redis is about 19gb on a Standard Pricing Tier.
    On the non-Azure Redis
    1. SET CONFIG masterauth <mykey>
    2. SLAVEOF myredis.redis.cache.windows.net 6379
Then on my non-Azure Redis I see the following output. This ouput repeats until i kill the non-azure redis or set SLAVEOF NO ONE.

  • What is 'CB5' ? Why is it unavailable in 12.0 or higher ?

    Hi experts,
I am trying to create a new workspace in 12.0 and 12.1
I remember we can create new workspace in 11.4 or lower versions with the default database 'CB5' ?
Just curious to know about 'CB5'. I searched but in vain - there are not many articles on 'CB5'. is this database properiated by Oracle ?
Any explanation or weblinks are highly appreciated. Thanks in advance !
    Best Regards,
    Navin

CB5 = Codebase database handler (dBase file system)
Beginning in 12.0, new workspaces have to be created with a fully featured database.
The following can be found in the version 12.0 release notes:
Documaker’s default storage for library resources files is now a database
management system (DBMS) structure. Previous versions of Documaker defaulted
to an xBase storage configuration for workspaces.
For Documaker, using a DBMS default structure for workspaces specifically affects
the storage and management of library resources (MRL files, user information, and
entry tables) files. Using DBMS architecture...
    • Enhances your ability to deal with large amounts of business transactions and
    data
    • Enhances scalability and fail-over capabilities
    • Improves sorting and query functionality for Master Resource Libraries
    • Increases security

  • Multi Channel Delivery

    Hi All Experts,
We are trying to evaluvate Oracle Documaker 12.0 and were sucessfull in most of the part.
    One question remains unsolved.
Does Oracle Documaker (12.0) support multi channel delivery? One of the customers require output to be in the format of PDF, Print, Email ( until this it seems ok), SMS, Voice ( which we are not sure of).
Can any one give some guidance of getting the output format set to SMS or Voice?
Also, how to acheive Multi Channel output based on a value in the input extract file? ( Using multiple FSIUSER.INI??)
    Thanks
    Arumugam

    Hi Arumugam,
I am assuming you are actually inquiring about Oracle Documaker Enterprise v12.0.1.
If so, there is a Reference Implementation Master Resource Library (RI-MRL) that comes out of the installer and is referenced in the Documaker Enterprise Installation Guide, with examples for the different Distribution types and settings including example XML inputs that trigger batches for SMS and others.
Input controlled output distribution is done via the batching configuration in the Administrator and data mapped to the database tables in the schema. Recipients are selected based on the batch configuration, via the Selection Criteria Rule, which allows you to use any metadata from the input that is mapped to be distributed to one or more batches. The Batch configuration defines the output and distribution options, see "Including Recipients in a Batch" section of the Administrators Guide documentation.
If you review the Documaker Enterprise Administration Guide for SMS references you will find a section entitled Setting the Distribution Options. There is out-of-the-box SMS support through SMTP-SMS bridge (see UseEmailForSMS in the Administrator Guide) where you provide the email address in the input stream for the SMS message delivery. If you want full fledged SMS and Voice message support directly via phone numbers through the various wireless carriers I recommend you review offerings such as Oracle User Messaging Serivice (UMS) (e.g. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/ns_intro.htm) . Documaker Enterprise has a built in integration with UMS services (see UseSMSService in the Administrator Guide) but also has integration points to allow for other integration so if there is a messaging service that your customer(s) prefer or own the Output Publisher component offers extensibility to map user classes to mime types (user defined or standard) to push out data to the desired endpoint.
    Regards.

  • Resource availability (xRPM 4.0/cProjects 4.0)

I have a question about resource availability in xRPM/cProjects 4.0
What do i need to do to be able to see real availability of my resources?
Do i need to set up the link to HR, do i need WFD?
Can i see the availability decrease if users have booked holiday time or training in their CATS?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jocelyn,
As per cProjects 3.1 and 4.0, it is possible to use WFD with cProjects. In project roles, it can be specified if a role is relevant for WFD or not.
    Note 900310 discusses the following:
Enhanced resource management using the RPA (Resource Planner Application) and the Workforce Deployment (WFD) servers: As up to now, WFD can be used as an enhanced scenario for resource planning in cProjects to staff project roles externally or to show resource availability. However, you must install the liveCache in an separate instance in order to use these functions. See the notes in the Master Guide. In this case (when you use cProjects outside the SAP Enterprise Portal), the 'Resource planning' tab title is available at the highest navigation level in cProjects. When you use the SAP Enterprise Portal, you can use the 'Resource Planner' CRM portal role. For further information, see Note 939501.  If you intend to use cProjects 4.0 with the RPA and WFD servers, all three must be installed on the same system.
Please let me know if WFD is forbidden for higher versions of cProjects, and if yes - what are the alternatives available.

  • Resource planning in cprojects with xRPM or MRS?

    Dear Experts,
To my understanding there are four options to perform resource planning in combination with cprojects:
    1.     Do a planning in cprojects only
    2.     Use resource planning application (RPA) from SAP CRM
    3.     Schedule resources with xRPM
    4.     Schedule resources with SAP MRS (Multi Resource Scheduling)
I have a couple of questions:
    (a) Is it correct that I cannot assign resources to project roles in xRPM based on qualification matching? Is it right that xRPM is used rather for a long-term view to define the available capacity of projects/roles than assigning specific resources to roles?
    (b) How can help SAP MRS in comparison to option 1 (planning in cprojects)? I assume that I can do also in cprojects itself a qualification matching. MRS provides a more detailed qualification object to cover complex requirements, right? What else provides MRS what cannot be managed in cprojects itself?
(c ) If we want to use a staffing process were project lead and resource manager doing the staffing and have the option to suggest or reject roles, we have the option to use xRPM or MRS, right? What are the differences? In MRS we have options like using several resource managers, softbooking/hardbooking or itu2019s possible to define the workflow who proposes resources and who is doing the final staffing (project lead or staffing manager), reasons for rejections can be configured etc. Are these options in xRPM available as well?
    Thanks,
    Angie

    Hi Angie,
I have not implemented MRS or RPA so can only answer your first question. You cannot do a resource search via qualification in Portfolio Management (aka xRPM), typically you would do this in Project Management (aka cProjects) and this functionality works fine provided you have maintained qualification data for BP's and roles. Portfolio Management financial planning function can be used for a long term view as you have mentioned. However, it is also typically used to summarize and/or roll up resource demand / assignment to a bucket or portfolio level or summarize resources for multiple projects via initiatives or collections. You can also use a top down approach and at a high level plan values at the bucket level (i.e. forecasted demand or business case demand) and compare against detailed planned / assigned demand rolled up from project management.
    Hope this helps.

  • CProjects-MS Project - import and export of task-role-resource assignment

    Hi,
    We are on PPM5.0
We are currently working on cProjects-MSP client integration.
What we have not been able to configure for import/export so far is:
    1. Task-Role-Resource assignment
Whereas we are are able to import/export the "Person Responsible" and "Role Responsible" fields, we have not been able to align the task-role-resource assignments.
We see a "Resource Name" column (Standard) in MSP. When we click on the drop down, we see all the roles from the cProjects project. But the alignment does not happen.
    Summary:
On export and import, we need to automatically see the role-resource-task assignment. How is this possible?
    2. Code field to "VC_BUPA_GUID" gets a number which is not the BP ID.
Is it possible to import the BP numbers in MSP. Also, how can we assign a number to the role in MSP such that on import into cProjects, the role is already staffed with the corresponding BP.
    3. Is it possible to export all the resources (BPs) into a drop down in MSP - like we see the Project Type, Role Type etc.
    Thanks.

    Hi Anuradha,
    Thanks for your inputs.
When we export to MSP, we see the cProjects roles under the "Resource Name" drop down in MSP.
However, they are only seen when we expand on the drop down.
For e.g. RoleA, and RoleB are two roles in cProjects project, along with many other roles.
Both of these roles are assigned to a task, say TASK1.
When exported to MSP, we expect both of these roles to show against TASKI, as "RoleA, RoleB" under the "Resource Name" column. However, these roles are not seen. They only appear as elements of drop down, along with all other roles in the project, when we explicitly click on the drop down.
Please let me know if I are missing out on something.
    Thanks.

  • CProjects Resource staffing problem

    Hi Everybody,
Right now we are facing a problem while staffing a resource for a role created. I am getting a error saying "Enter a valid business partner" and "Message was caused by reference object 'Business Partner Link'". What exactly i need to do get rid of the problem. I was trying to create a new resource there in cProjects, even that create resouce area become disabled. What is the solution for this ??
    Thanks,
    Rajesh.

    Hi Sunil,
I have created the Business Partner in transaction code BP. After that i was trying to add that resource in staffing. Previously i created the candidate directly in cProjects UI instead of creating a Business Partner in transaction BP. At that time i was able to staff the resource, but afterwards that create candidate is also not working. One more thing after creating a business partner in BP, how to link the business partner to a User and Employee. I am not able to get the link in ECC system. But while creating the candidate i have the option of linking the BP with user as well. I am totally confused with all these things.
And one more after giving the Business Partner number in the staffing search i am able to see the resource name next to the text box. But while assigning i am getting error message saying "Enter a valid Business Partner". I dont understand what is "valid".
    Thanks,
    Rajesh.

  • CProjects 4.0 - Error - E-mail to Resource

Under the 'Resource' tab, when I staff a role in cProjects 4.0, I get to see a button "E-mail to Resource." However, when I click on that, I get a message "An error occured when sending the e-mail".

    Can someone please suggest?
