CPU 100% When Playing Minecraft iMac
Hi There!
As the title says, "CPU 100% When Playing Minecraft". Every time I boot up Minecraft the Fan becomes loud. I have another iMac (Late 2013) Model and it runs Minecraft fine with all the same settings. So I don't really no what to do. But if you could help me try to get the CPU usage down or maybe turn the fan down? Or something like that that would be great!!
My iMac Specs.
Mac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014)
Processor: 4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB
So Yeah, if you could give me a hand, I would be so much appreciated!
Thanks!

Firefox 3.6.6 hogs CPU 100% when playing embeded ogg video
it's really not content-related. I played the same content with an external player, and the cpu load varied between 12-40% with spikes to 50%.
HTML5 video support is great, the performance not so. Any hints?Firefox 3.6.6 Windows XP - often goes to 80-100% CPU even with only one tab open (in this case the one I'm writing this message on). When this happens the only cure is to kill it with task manager and start again.

ITunes 9.1 - CPU goes to 100% when playing prot. AAC - clicks and gaps
Since downloading 9.1, there are clicks and gaps when I play protected AAC songs on iTunes. Songs play fine with QuickTime player. When a protected song is played in 9.1, iTunes absorbs all available CPU.
I have followed all remediation steps in the apple.com support site including turning off sound enhancer, checking for driver updates, etc. I have also set buffering to maximum.
If I play an AAC protected song for more than a few seconds it becomes impossible to pause it and all other applications running freeze. This happens even when there are no other applications running . . . it is not a conflict problem with other applications. itunes absorbs whatever cpu there is left to take. Consistently using 60-90% of CPU w/ total CPU @ 100% constantly (when an AAC protected song is played).
iTunes works fine as long as the song is not protected.
I cannot find anything on the apple site to allow me to go back to 9.0. Why can't apple allow one to step back to the previour version? I am seriously looking at getting permanently off of iTunes. Each new release is harder to use and performs more poorly.Unfortunately I have the same problem since I installed Itunes 9.1 anche this problem is shown in a lot of thread.....
I am seriously disappointed cause I BOUGTH these music and it's unbelieveble that Itunes doesn't play its music (sorry for my english...I am writing from Italy...).
I am afraid that it's an Intel Atom processor conflict.
I have already update everything was possible to update (driver, codecs, setting audio configuration, energy saving...) but I didn't find any stuff to solve this issue... -
High CPU when playing Minecraft
My MacBook Pro Retina Core i5 8GB RAM has abou 100% and more usage when playing and my cooling is loud, what to do?
I have searched all over the web too to find any solutions regarding the unavoidable problem of Macs with Adobe's Flash Player. There are little improvements of reducing the high CPU during Flash use on a Mac through changing your main browser to Opera, Camino ... BUT it is still a problem which cannot be solved for now. The following URL is from Adobe's Bug Website and explains exactly what is wrong with Flash on a Mac:
Very High CPU usage and thus High Fan speed.
https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-890
Here's another link to a similar problem in the Apple Discussions:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8920577
And finally the comparison of CPU usage between Mac and Windows which shows very clear that there's obviously something MAJOR not working and Adobe has to fix it!
http://arstechnica.com/software/news/2008/10/benchmarking-flash-player-10.ars
It is a shame that this problem is out for years and Adobe is NOT trying to fix it, or at least not as intense as they should. So this is the reason why many people all over the world have to live with their Mac running high fan and a hot CPU when just browsing the internet. -
V Nitro VN7-791 screen is flashing when playing Minecraft
Hello,I just got brand new Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-791. I bought it for playing differnet games. I.m very disappointed when I tried to play Minecraft. The screen is constantly flashing in an irritating way. I tired to update display drivers and fix the video options, but the problems doesn't end. The strange thing is that other games run smoothly, f ex GTA V. Do you have same problems? Can you play Minecraft with your Acers? Any ideas to solve the problem? If I won't find a solution, I want my money back.
YamoZ,
Make sure that the discreet graphics are set to run the game instead of the onboard Intel graphics chipset (CPU) to see if that makes a difference. It sounds like it is driver related, if you have not performed all your Windows updates. Be sure to check optional updates, there might be some there that could address this. -
High CPU usage when playing flv files with flash
As more and more FLV videos are moving to HD, I'm noticing
high CPU usage and lots of dropped frames when playing FLV video in
web browser with Flash 10. This is true even if the video isn't
full screen. I've tried a variety of browsers (Firefox, I.E.,
Chrome) and the problem occurs on all of them so it's pretty clear
it's a limitation in Flash.
Now my PC isn't high end (it has a Pentium M 1.86 GHz
processor), but I can take those same FLV files and load them in
something like Media Player Classic or Windows Media Player (when
using ffdshow) and play the FLV files full screen with little or no
drop in frames and an acceptable CPU rate.
This is especially annoying on sites like YouTube where I
actually have to save the video and play it back in something other
than Flash to have it play back at an acceptable rate. This doesn't
work for other sites like Amazon.
Why is the CPU usage so high when decoding and displaying
videos when compared to other media players?I've been doing research about this excessively high CPU usage problem (100%!) for weeks because I have also experienced it with my vista home premium laptop. Just recently, I have finally found the solution. The problem is not your browser or your OS or your pc's memory. The problem is caused by authorization for flash player.
Read the link (posted below) carefully and follow the steps accordingly. If you have already done steps 1 through 6 with your computer, you can go straight to step 7.

PS: I am not the author of that link, so please thank the respective site owner if you find the procedure very helpful.
Please let me know also if the link solves your problem. I am sharing this because Adobe seems unable to provide solutions to this, and I don't want to hear people suffer.

Yes. You can put all of your personal default settings in the file ~/.mplayer/config. If it doesn't already exist, just create it. On my VDPAU enabled system it looks like this:
[default]
vo=vdpau,xv,
deint=4
hqscaling=9
vc=ffh264vdpau,ffmpeg12vdpau,ffwmv3vdpau,ffvc1vdpau,
channels=2
As far as subtitles go, I never use them so I have no idea. -
Droid Razr crashes when playing Minecraft
My Droid Razr froze up (crashed) twice when my son was playing Minecraft on my Android Razr. Any ideas why? It had been working fine for a month or more until this happened. I downloaded Minecraft Pocket Edition from Google Play (paid version), and everything was fine until recently.
The following will help you find and use it.
Try running the extended version of your Apple Hardware Test . It's not perfect, but may flag something.

Macbook Pro Heat... (when playing minecraft)
Hi. I got a MBP, and the only pc game I play is Minecraft. I have been playing it, and I get about 45-65 or more FPS with normal/far render distance and fancy high graphics. It runs very well, and the fan makes no noise.
The top of my laptop (in between the function keys and the screen) gets pretty darn hot. Like, I can put my finger there for as long as I want, but it's definetly very warm. My Dad says that 'They are supposed to run hot' and I completely trust him, I just am slightly concerned and would like other opinions.
I tried downloading the widget iStat, but the website iSlayer.com is down so the download from Apple does not work. So, I have no idea how hot my laptop is running.
1. Is my Dad completely right? Is it supposed to run hot, but can that shorten it's lifespan?
2. Is there an alternative free widget I can get?
3. What is the best cooling device I should get that actually works?
4. AND: biggest question: Is Minecraft supposed to run hot.
Extra Info: I opened Activity Monitor while I was playing and it said that only like 1 percent of the system's CPU was being used and only about 13-22 percent of my user CPU.1. If you use CPU/GPU intensive applications, the MBP will heat up. If that is all that you do with your MBP, the life span will be shortened. Heat is the enemy to all electrical devices. Its a question of degree.
2. Try Temperature Monitor.
3. I don't use one, but a cooling pad would be good when you are stressing the CPU/GPU. I have used Aluminum plates as an auxiliary heat sink when performing video work. Poor mans cooler, but it works.
4. Yes. That is normal for computer games.

High CPU usage when playing flv files with VideoDisplay
Hi all,
Now i develop a project with VideoDisplay, my problem is when i play f4v file, my CPU usage is very high.., I also play the same file with Adobe Media Player, the problem is still exist.
Can anybody help me ~? thanks~,and sorry for my poor english~I'm pretty sure one reason is that Flash "watches" the video so it can sync up the frames with other animations you might want to overlay.

20% CPU load when idle, 27" iMac corei7 2,8Ghz
Hi every body
When I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64bit on Boot Camp 3.1, the system uses 20% CPU when idle.
I've tried to figure out what's causing the system load, and so far no luck. The task manager show these processes using CPU:
SYSTEM : 9%
DCPs : 6%
csrss.exe: 3%
Interrupts: 4%
The system is a fresh install, no programs installed, except Boot Camp. Even before I installed the Boot Camp drivers the CPU load was 20% when idle.
Has anyone had the same problem? And have you found a solution?

If you have not booted into Windows, anything that happens under Mac OS X is something unrelated. In this case, it may be Spotlight indexing connected drives or some other background maintenance process. Leave the iMac running for a while and check to see if the CPU load is still 20%. -
High CPU Usage when playing videos
I have exactly the same problem. I search all around and a lot, i mean a LOT of people is having the same problem, what is going on with Adobe Flash Player? Every video, specially in Youtube, i just can't watch 720p videos, because the CPU reach the 100%, all is good in my PC, it's just the Adobe Flash Player that have some kind of problem, i don't know what to do or where to search anymore for a solution. This is getting frustrating.
it's high memory usage and for some reason i got put in this thread and my original one never got update i am using hardware acceleration.....www.twitch.tv go watch any of the livestreams there

CPU 100% when execute forms
Hello,
i am running iAS1021, HTTP Server only, with RDBMS 8.1.6.2 on a PC pentium II 400mhz with 256 MB ram.
Does anybody know how the cpu of my pc goes to 100% for 6-7 minutes in order to run a form? is it normal or do i have to change some parameters of my database/system in order to speed up the application?
Thanks
EttoreHi,
there is a bug 1721741 and a workaround that solve the problem.

Cpu 100% when device is connected
anytime i connect and try to back up my cpu is locked at 100% apple mobile device in the device manager is the cause. if i end task it knocks the back up off and says device was disconnected anyone else had this issue
I tried many things for a week, no luck.
then i uninstalled
itunes,
apple software update,
apple application support,
apple mobile device support, and
bonjour,
then installed 10.3.1.55 and it worked! i was very relieved.
download10.3.1.55 here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1047 -
High CPU usage when selecting certain emails
I experience (above) 100% CPU usage in Mail.app when selecting certain emails. Mostly emails from the same sender.
The emails contain MIME multipart data. One part is BASE64 encoded text, the other is quoted-printable encoded HTML.
I can see in the process trace that two threads seem to be thrashing around in MFRedundantTextIdentifier.
CPU usage goes up. I can still use the application (it is not blocked). But it cannot be quit normally (only with force quit).
Apple engineers: this must be something that you would wish to find and fix?
Any help with diagnosing would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely.
-dennisMaybe my initial post was not clear so let me add some clarifications.
I have the problem with Aero disabled
I have the problem on the Apple site which does not have any flash content.
I have already hacked the lastest nvidia drivers to get them on my system which did not change anything. Can you provide a link to some other 'supported' beta drivers?
I am using the new 13 inch air so it has the newer graphics card so I would expect it to be faster than an old HTPC with a 9400m in it. I wasn't stating that my Air had a 9400m.
It would be great if someone you also do the test to check the cpu load:
- when playing a 720 mkv
- when dragging a window across the screen
Just open task manager and see if the CPU spikes.
Many thanks!
