CPU clocking 100% for Master Scheduler

Hi
Most of the time my Master scheduler is clocking 100% CPU. There are 6 process schedulers. 2 are dedicated process scheduler(not defined as online app servres in Configuration.properties file on Webserver) where as 4 are process scheduler as well as online app servers. Problem is that all those users who are connected to Master scheduler server are experiencing Performance issue. Other 3 online servers are not so engaged as CPU utilisation for them is between 6% - 20% only.
My question is is this set is adviceable ? or making one of the dedicated process scheduler as Master scheduler will help?
My hardware configuration of all appservers is 2 x 2.4 Intel Xenon HT and 3GB Ram.

Vishal Mahajan

Hi Marchiom
Thanks for your reply. Following were the processes that are running on Master Scheduler at time when it clocked 100%.
pspubdsp.exe
psqrysrv.exe
jsh.exe (20 different instances)
pssamsrv.exe
psappsrv.exe (350K x 2 instances)
Not sure which one was keeping CPU occupied? I'll keep an eye again and see which one is picking most CPU%.

  • Adjust CPU clock speed for saving Power

Does anyone know which software is the best for adjusting the cpu clock speed in Mac book pro? I want to decrease to half of the original speed in MBP so that I can save power when I'm on the battery.
    Thanks

well I do understand what you mean but then I would like to have a software to control the clock speed like I control my fan speed although the default setting does that automatically. I don't really want to use it without a battery because apple does not recommend that also.
    Thank you

  • How to change CPU clock speed for conserving power?

Hi, I own a compaq CQ60 404CA and I am wondering how I can change the settings for minimal cpu speeds.
I know it automatically sets it's speed down to half when not being used. I want to decrease that even further.
    Is that possible?
I tried Nvidia system tools, but it gives a wrong reading regarding the CPU speeds (2.8ghz when its actually 1.05ghz)
    Thanks
    I've tried:
    1. Changing CPU power settings down to 1%, and even then it stayed at half speed
    2. Checked Bios, but didn't find settings

Yes it is possible, try steps in amd forum guide, here

  • No CPU core reserved for ESXi Scheduler

    Hi,
I have a customer who uses UCS C210 M2 servers with ESXi 4.1 to host UC 8.6 applications including Unity Connection.
The SRND and Docwiki both state that, as the UCS is hosting a Unity Connection system, a core should be reserved for the ESXi Scheduler.
Unfortuantely this requirement seems to have been missed by the install team and the vCPU requirements for the installed machines add up to 8 leaving none available for the ESXi scheduler.
Can anyone tell me the implications of this other than it breaking the Cisco rules for deployment and thus being an unsupported environment.
The kind of things I need to know are will this just effect Unity Connection or all the hosted VMs including CUCM, CUPS etc.

    Hi Richard,
Thanks for opening a PDI ticket for this. I just want to include the information I gave you on the post so it is available for future reference. According to the link below:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/10x/requirements/10xcucsysreqs.html#pgfId-360874
"For VMware vSphere ESXi 5.5 and later, you do not need to leave any unused processor core for the ESXi hypervisor / scheduler. The Latency Sensitivity functionality has been introduced to reduce virtual machine latency. "
You need to set Latency Sensitivity to HIGH to be able to leverage the above support. Please refer to the attachment to see where to change this parameter.
    Hope this helps!

  • CPU hits 100% when I quit iTunes

Whenever I quit iTunes, the it pegs the CPU at 100% for 20 - 30 seconds. I've seen lots of people with CPU-hogging problems during podcast updates and ripping... anybody find an answer for this one?

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes for Mac forums.

  • CPUx: Temperature above threshold, cpu clock throttled

My cousin (Windows) computer suicided... it stopped
    booting without any apparent reason.
He asked my help and we stored every important data in an
external drive using an arch linux installed in a usb key
    (thanks to every wiki writer).
I thought it could be an hardware problem so I started
stress with with a command line like:
    stress --cpu 2 --io 1 --vm 1 --hdd 1
(pwd was in a Windows mounted partition)
it is already one hour the program goes. I got the error
    of the title few times:
CPUx: Temperature above threshold, cpu clock throttled
for both CPUs. I thought it was normal, after all
the cpu might overheat under stress and it slows down
    to protect itself...
But suddenly I got a doubt, it is really the CPU that
slows down itself (so it is an hardware feature) or it is
linux that slows it down (so it is a kernel feature)? In
this second case do anyone knows if Windows do anything
    similar?
Secondly in the error log I can see:
EDID checksum is invalid, remainder is 210
    Raw EDID:
    <hex dump omitted>
I sought in the Internet, but I could not understand what
it means nor if it is dangerous... can anyone help me?
    Thanks

The BIOS is usually responsible for setting thresholds and has settings to halt the computer when those thresholds are too high.
Since the program is testing stress, I'm guessing the software is throttling the CPU so the system does not shutoff and the test can still process.
I would highly suggest checking your BIOS's tempertature thresholds, as well as the fan speed settings (BIOS or software).
I would also find out what a normal temperature for the CPU is and do some testing on what different loads do to the temperature.

  • CPU 100% For every process (relaying effect)

    Hi
I recently had a big cpu problem on my macbook.
I cloned my system on another hard drive. I now have two hard drive with the same system.
My problem is the same on both system: (even worst on the new one)
Randomly, my system starts to go on a cpu saturation. Often, it is caused by one program (chrome, itunes, adobe or kernel sometimes)and kicking the sick program don't solve my problem because the cpu-overwork is relayed on another program and so on...
This made my system very very slow with some freeze and high temperatures. I often seen between 70 to 77°c on istat. Rarely 80.
I can run fine about 1hour and suddenly falling very very slow.
I'm running on snow leopard. I installed the last update on my old hard drive and i'm currently doing the same on the new one with difficulties because of huge stability problems (the instaler crash at the end but the update seems to be fine)
I removed the dust trough my fans, but it didn't changed anything.
Thanks for the help, and sorry for my english.

  • Best Practises for doing Master Scheduling using SNP

    Hello Gurus ,
Can you please suggest the best practises for doing Master Scheduling using SNP . Which engine to use , what would that mean etc

APC Back-UPS XS 1300.  $169.99 at Best Buy.
Our power outages here are usually only a few seconds; this should give my server about 20 or 25 minutes run-time.
I'm setting up the PowerChute software now to shut down the computer when 5 minutes of power is left.  The load with the monitor sleeping is 171 watts.
This has surge protection and other nice features as well.

  • Which CPU heatsink/fan for Z77A-GD65? - if 90 C at 100% load is too high?

With stock Intel heat sink and keeping the CPU (i7 3770) load at 100% for hours, the CPU  temp hovers around 89-90 C.   My case has 2 x 120 mm fans in the front and 2 x 120 mm  fans on the back of the case, .  With the room temperature of 20-22 C, the typical idle CPU Temp is 30-32 C.
    Two questions please.
    1) Is keeping the CPU temperature at 90 C all day  "safe"?
    2) What after market  heat-sink would would recommend for this MB, if the temperature should be dropped few degrees.
My observation for Z77A-GD65: There isn't much real-estate around the CPU for a large coolers and furthermore, my case cannot fit one of those tall  cooler heat sinks with 120 mm fan on the fins.
I don't overclock, but run multiple CPU intensive simulations.
    i7 3770,
    Z77A-D65 MB,
    Corsair 750TX PSU,
    Corsair Veangeance LP 4 x 8GB RAM ( CML16GX3M2A1600C10)
using internal INTEL graphics and I have 5 x 1TB HDD's of various brand.

    UPDATE:
Thank you again for the good suggestions.
I installed Arctic Freezer 13 CO cooler and the temp dropped about 25 C from 90C to 65C with 100% CPU load (my simulation program) for nearly 10 hours.
Tested on Prime95 => 71 C max after 10 hours.  Before the upgrade, I dared not run prime95 because the temperature would quickly shoot up above 90C.
    IntelBurnTest 2.54 Max Stress => 80 C max
The 92mm cooler fan clears  barely above the low profile RAM.  It may not fit on high profile RAM( those with high heat spread)  Max RPM is about 2100.  It's very quiet. I cannot  tell apart the cooler fan noise over the case fan noise.  After trying to get optimal fan speed using MB BIOS and MSI Control Center, I decided to turn off smart fan control and leave the fan speed at 100%.  This "CO: Continuous Operation" fan is supposed to last a long time anyway.

  • CPU Clock speeds

This is a simple one for you guys today.
I have noticed on these forums that most clock speeds are at least 133.  My BIOS is showing
    Current CPU clock 1250
    CPU FSB clock 100
I am no master of the darker regions of the BIOS but should I be running a bit faster looking at my set up below?

    Cheers Guys
Both jumpers J10 and J11 were set to 133/166 already.  I think it must have defaulted at sometime.  I installed SP2 the other day, don't know if that effected it
I changed the set up to manual and changed to 1:1, (the ratio was set to 'By SPD').
    Happy days

  • W2K12-R deduplication optimization job stuck at 100% for days

    Hello,
I've W2K12-R server (VM, 4 vCPU, 14 GB vRAM) with a 7 TB D: drive, deduplication is enabled for this drive. I use this drive for backing up virtual machines, at the moment 3,6 TB are used. Each night ~2 TB new data is backed up, only the C: drives of VMs,
so there is a very high dedup rate, these new 2 TB are usually deduplicated during daytimes.

Since a few weeks I've the problem that ThroughputOptimization jobs (all Optimization jobs) do not finish. The job is able to free space but it stays at 100% for days.
Although I've set the DurationHours to 6 or 9 hours, the scheduled job does not end and thus no new Optimization job starts. That leads to a completely filled D drive because the space that gets filled by backup jobs during the night  is not freed during
    the planned time frame.

I don't see further information about job 39D260C4-32D0-4511-8982-598DA53DB423 in event log. In resource monitor I see that fsdmhost has very little disk activity (600 Bytes/s), but a cpu load of 25% (which is one of the four vCPUs).
I stopped the backups this week and started a manual full Optimization job, which stays at 100% since more than one day now.
Any ideas what to check? Any patch I can apply?

  • Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0 CPU hit 100% on Windows 2008 R2 64 bit Hyper-V

    Oracle Environment Detail:
Oracle Database Enterprise Edition :11.2.0.1.0 (NON RAC, No failsafe)
    O/S:     Windows 2008 R2 64 bit (6.1)
    Specifics: Virtual Server using Hyper-V
    Memory: 9 GB RAM
    Processor: E5540
    Specific about the issue:
I have two database instance created on this server with ‘memory_target=3600M’ each.
I am getting into an issue where I find NO activity on database except regular schedule job running using DBMS_SCHEDULER –
    •     Database FULL export DAILY schedule time 7 & 7:30 PM accordingly for both instance (takes about 15-20 mins each)
    •     Database FULL RMAN DAILY schedule time 9 & 10 PM accordingly for both instance (takes about 35-40 mins each)
This was set up on Feb 25th 2011. Since then we have encounter CPU hit 100% TWICE in this system at around 8:30 PM (SAME TIME). Both database instance exports keep running and never finish. While RMAN schedule job has NO problem. Mostly everything runs every smoothly without any issue.
    Replicate the issue:
I am unable to replicate this issue and do not know the cause of the issue.
    Work Around:
    Oracle services shutdown/Server reboot.
Would anyone know about this issue? Have any information could help? This system will become production soon and want to make sure we have solution for this.
    Thanks in advance!

I am finding that CPU hit 100% is very specific to Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 Export Utility (exp) used to take FULL database export. I understand Original Export is desupported from general use as of 11g but available for specific need.
Have anyone faced this issue with 11.2.0.1.0 Export Utility (exp)? Please help.
I have a need to use export utility which gives us migration options.
    Thanks!

    SO2 ordered for ITEM A for 20(reserved)
    ITEM A has 100 onhand
import SO1 into MDS and run mrp, should i have only 80 avliable for ITEM A if i checked the 'net reservations' checkbox?
    any reply is highly appreciated!

    Hi,
MRP is by default licensed along with e-business suite.
You do not need explicit licensing for using MRP.
For further queries, please contact your nearest sales office or your sales representative.
