CPU compatability requirements met, but won't upgrade to 8.1 from 8.

Upgrade says CPU not compatible and won't download from store, but it is according to what I find. It supports NC, PAE and sse2, which the utility coreinfo.exe verifies. It is an AMD 64 FX-55.
Are there other unreported requirements?

My iPad shows my Photosmart 7510 but won't print. I've disconnected and reconnected printer, turned iPad off and on. My computer communicates well wirelessly with the printer. Troubleshoot further?

I would try a hard reset on the iPad.
To do so, hold both the home button and sleep button down at the same time.
Keep holding them until the device restarts and you see the Apple logo.
Once you see the Apple logo, you can go ahead and release the buttons.
Once the iPad is booted back up, try to print to your 7510 again.
Let know if that helps resolve your issue or not.

Facetime 1.0.2 installed, but won't upgrade or let me purchase 1.0.5

I have facetime 1.0.2 installing on 10.6.8. I went to upgrade it via the app store to 1.0.5, and was redirected to Mac Software Update. No Updates available.
Sent 1.0.2 to the trash and tried to buy 1.0.5. I get a message that says I've already purchased Facetime, and that the download is free. I can see it downloading, but it never installs.
Brought FaceTime 1.0.2 back from the trash, but once again, no updates available.
Any thoughts on how to get 1.0.5? I don't mind if I have to spent another $1.. but I need the upgrade.

try resetting your finder preferences. delete the file /users/user/library/preferences/com.apple.finder.plist. then control-option-click on Finder in the dock and choose "relaunch".

Why does Apple take a step back in technology with the ios6? Very disappointed in these changes. I upgraded my iPad but won't upgrade my phone. I was going to purchase an i5 phone, but now I'm going to look at the new Samsung.

Good riddance. No one here works for apple, so we are not hurt by you going to a samsung. I will say after having both android OS's and iOS's in my life I will always choose the more stable platform, nothing like having to reset your device everyday for 2 years.

My computer is authorized but won't let me play movies from external drive

Before the most recent update, I was backing up my movies and music to an external drive to save room on my hard drive. I would then play those movies in QT from the external drive. I didn't import into iTunes bc I wanted to save room. Now, however, it won't let me play those movies unless I import into iTunes. I get a please authorize field. I authorize and it says that this computer is already authorized but it still won't play the movie.

SO FAR I THINK IT IS "GENIUS" (IT'S A DUNCE!!!!)

Airport Express has green light but won't connect to remote speakers from Macbook or iPhone

Hi,
I have a 6-7 year old airport express that I have used frequently as remote speakers for my macbook and 2 iphones. I am currently having problems with getting this to work in my new flat. It worked for a few weeks and now he green light is on but the remote speakers time out when i try to connect to it.
Sometimes the airport is visible in itunes/iphone and sometimes it isn't. when it isn't if i unplug it and leave it a while it appears again but i cant connect but the green light is always on.
It's all set up properly so I don't know if it is just getting old and I need a new one or whether this can be solved.
I have reset this numerous times

I've solved this by resetting my wireless internet connection at the box and then setting up airport express again.
I don't know whether that will help you.....

ITunes list shows in slide show but won't play music I chose from list.

Down loaded lastest version of iPhoto,when making slide show itunes list shows in chosening music but wont load to the slide show.The sample music shows and plays if picked.Had no trouble with slide show in older version of iPhoto.Itunes worked great in older version,but newer version is not working.

Will upgrading to Mountain Lion from Lion make my Lion Time Machine Backups unusable?

I had a situation where when I upraded to Lion from Snow Leopard, my Time Machine Backups became unusable. It says that the Backups were not compatible and it was really frustrating because I had to delete my backups from Snow Leopard and re-backup from my Mac with the newly installed Lion.
Will this happen if I upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion? Has anyone had trouble from this upgrade to Mountain Lion. Has your Time Machine backups been working fine with the new operating system?

Will upgrading to Mountain Lion erase all my files? And can't I only backup my home folder from Time Machine anyways? As long as I don't use Migration Assistant to restore the System files.

Intel Mini starts fine, but won't *Restart* after serious upgrades

Experienced Mac user, but stumped with this one:
Picked up a fairly cheap Intel Mini Core Duo to use as a HTPC.
Upgraded the CPU to a T7400 Core 2 Duo, removed the internal SATA drive and added an external 1TB SATA drive in a NewerTech V3 Stacker case as the primary drive for the machine. Installed Leopard, which went fine. Machine has 2GB RAM and boots up just fine. *All is good, except that the machine won't Restart. Starts just fine. Shuts down just fine. But it won't restart.*
I've attempted to zap the PRAM using the old Command-Option-P-R, but all I get is one chime; it won't cycle through multiple times. I've tried resetting the PMU (using the remove cables/wait/insert power cable while pressing power button/press power button again method, but there is no change in the restart behavior. So I'm stumped and could use some suggestions for other things to try.
Anyone on here done any similar upgrades and/or seen similar behavior? Did I forget to reconnect a wire somewhere? If I crack the case again, is there a manual reset I can perform on the PMU? BTW, the behavior is the same regardless of whether the HDD is connected.

Thanks, tried that (and tried it with the CMOS battery removed), and it didn't solve the problem. I'm stumped. I've tried resetting the SMC, which also had no effect on the problem. If I try to zap the PRAM using the traditional four key chord, it will shutdown (with power light still on) but won't reboot. Same if I choose Restart form the Apple menu: it gets the job half done, but won't reboot. So it seems to be a very specific failure: something in the Restart sequence is hanging up, while the Start and Shutdown sequences work fine.

What iPhone do you have? You can check in settings>>general>> about.
If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

It's our internal applicant tracking systems (resume database). It works fine in IE and all previous verisons of FF but in FF 7 a bubble icon pops up stating that "Please fill out this field".
The field is not required but states "Require all of these words" if you to run a search based on those parameters.

I discovered this problem when I upgraded my iPhone 4 to a 5c.
My laptop will recognise my 5c and even the wife's iPad but won't recognuse her 5c, when I plug it in it makes a sound but just doesn't show up in iTunes.
It DID work on my laptop as recently as November when I backed up her phone and updated her software but like I say ever since I upgraded it just won't recognise her 5c but does mine.
I just can't think what is wrong? I haven't messed around with anything on the laptop or messed around with the wife's settings on her 5c

Instead of creating different user accounts for the MacBook, it's just easier this way. Or is it? If this is a permanent thing, then I may switch back to Lion. That is simply not possible with Mail, and never has been. Anyone who uses your account can see all messages stored in Mail. The only true solution is to not let other people use your account. Let other people use the guest account, or if you share the machine with someone else, set up a separate user account for that person. This will also solve the problem of remembering the password. It will become a non-issue for Mail to remember your password if nobody else has access to your account.

How did you "move everything" over?
Migration assistance does not handle the iPhoto library well sometimes - the best way is to drag the bad iphoto library from the pictures folder on the new system to the desktop, connect the two systems together (network, firewire target mode, etc) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old system to the pictures folder of the new system and launch iPhoto on the new system - it will open and convert the iPhoto library as necessary and you will be fine - once you test the iPhoto library you can delete the one on the desktop
