CPU Freezing after pluging my Ipod

I have an ipod photo 20 Gb, when I plug it to my cpu I can hear the sound that it makes when something is connected through the usb port but nothing happens. I disconnect my ipod even though its says : Do not disconnect. Then on my cpu theres a message saying : To connect your ipod on the cpu you need to restore your ipod, then disconnect and reconnect your ipod.I click on Ok, Then Itunes opens by itself. I reconnect my ipod and tried to restore it, but it seems that my cpu is freezing everytimes my Ipod is connected to it. And then I cant restore it because it says that my ipod is Corrupted. But my main problem is that i cant do nothing because my cpu is freezin everytime i connect my Ipod to it. please help

No response. Too long ago to remember what happened...

  • Itunes freezes after plugging in ipod

    I need help!!!
Okay, I downloaded itunes 7 and everything was fine. Music playback, sound quality, and my playlists were fine. So I installed version 1.2 of the ipod software. Now everytime I update my ipod, itunes freezes in mid-update and doesn't respond.

If you are subscribed to lots of podcasts, go change them to manually update.
Which is what I had my preference set for in v6, but v7 changed it back to auto update podcasts. And with about 15 podcasts going...it brought my PC to its knees.
    Hope that helps!

  • IPod freezes after connecting to PC/iTunes

I think it's a common problem that iPods freeze after plugging in the USB cable. I don't know if it's working for others, but if i do a reset (hold menu plus select) on the iPod while it is plugged and iTunes is running it works. But i have to do this every time i plug it in... So much to years of software development...

"All of my songs that were numbered or had numbers in the title are not at the bottom of the songs list instead of being the first songs listed."
I assume you meant to say "now" at the bottom of the list?
Unfortunately, like it or not this how the latest version of iTunes sorts songs. Numbers now appear at the end of the listings.

  • IPod freezes after updating to software version 1.2!!!

iPod freezes after updating to software version 1.2!!! After installing version 1.2 the "do not disconnect" screen took forever to disappear, so i just removed the cables and it still remained
like that, i restarted it manually, but now it's getting stuck when the apple logo appears...i reset it and when i finnally turns on, and i'm at the language tab, it freezes. can anyone help.!?

Apple just released firmware 1.2.1 for the ipod, you should try restoring your iPod again with that.

  • IPod freezes after power on--can't restore!

I just received a replacement 5th Gen. 30GB iPod. I updated iTunes, and plugged in my iPod to sync. At first, the iPod was not recognized, and I discovered in my Device Manager (Windows XP Pro) that a driver needed to be re-installed. I updated the driver, and restarted my pc. I re-connected the iPod, iTunes opened, and updated my iPod with my library. After the update was complete, the iPod screen still showed DO NOT DISCONNECT, so I waited about 5 minutes, then pressed the eject button next to the iPod in the sources menu. The source disappeared, but the iPod still showed DO NOT DISCONNECT. I disconnected it from my pc, and tried to power it off, but to no avail! I tried 8 times to reset it, and finally, it did so. The iPod restarted, and immediately froze on the menu screen. It wouldn't respond to power off and only reset after multiple attempts (on a flat surface, pressing menu away from the center, etc.) I closed iTunes, reconnected the iPod to the pc, and iTunes opened, recognized the device, and updated. The DO NOT DISCONNECT would not go away again. I tried this again, after resetting the iPod and closing iTunes, to attempt to restore the iPod, but it freezes, and does not restore. The iPod was fully charged when I started, and I have tried multiple USB ports on my pc. I have a 2G Nano that syncs just fine, so I'm not sure what else to check on the pc, if anything. The iPod will power on with no trouble, but it still freezes on the menu screen and requires several attempts to reset. Any ideas before I have to pay to send this replacement iPod back to Apple? Your help is very much appreciated!!

I have the EXACT same problem as well. I just got a replacement iPod. I plugged it in the first time, transfered my library and updated the software to 1.2. When i tried to disconnect it, my ipod just hung at the 'Do not disconnect' screen. It simply wudnt disconnect. I pulled out the plug directly and restarted my iPod, but it keeps hanging. I restart it using Menu and Center buttons, and it hangs within seconds of startup. I cannot even Restore it in iTunes because it KEEPS HANGING. I cant even do anything with it. Restart, hang. I really need help in this. Thanks.

  • Ipod freezes after sync

My Ipod freezes after every sync. I am forced to reboot it. Has anyone seen this? How do I fix it?

I took to my local Apple location and they just replaced it.

  • 5G 60 Gig iPod freeze after fully charged...

My iPod freezes after a full charge. This usually happens after about 8 or more hours of leaving the power plug in, and occurs more often if the ear buds are plugged in. A simple reset wakes the iPod.
    Have you experienced this?
    Thanks!

They are partially charged. An hour is about right,
    no cause for alarm.
how about the usual charging time? how long is it? mine is like an hour, and it is already full after that. is that ok?

  • Ipod freezing after not using it for 2 days

my Ipod freezes after not using it for 2 days, should i go to the apple store and get a new 1, or is this normal. If i do go to the apple store, i would probably get a nano right since they dont sell mini's anymore

What do you mean it "freezes". After 36 hours of inactivity the mini will go into 'deep sleep' mode. When awoken from deep sleep, the iPod will appear to reset. Is this what yours is doing? If so, it's normal.
Also, Apple still has a stock of minis available for warranty claims, so you wouldn't get a nano.
    Cheers!

  • TS1441 when i pluged my ipod classic 5g to PC then it shows "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. you must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes"?then after restoring the PIOD when IPod restarted then Itunes again detect the same ER

when i pluged my ipod classic 5g to PC then it shows “iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. you must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes”?then after restoring the PIOD when IPod restarted then Itunes again detect the same ERROR.

If you are using XP, and you went through the procedure at the bottom of the previously linked document to change the iPod's assigned drive letter, and you also tried putting it into Disk Mode...
If you have not already, try shutting down your computer and disconnecting all USB devices, including hub.  Start up with only standard keyboard and mouse connected.  Just to be safe, put the iPod into Disk Mode again
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363
Run iTunes.  Connect iPod to a direct USB port on computer.  iTunes may prompt you about "recovery" and ask you to do a Restore.  Try to do a Restore again.

  • Freezing after use with Itrip

Anybody experience their ipod freezing after using an itrip. Mine is now frozen! Nightmare. Ihave tried to reset it but nothing happens after the obligatory 6-10 secs. Any suggestions
    Andy

is it safe (for the cpu, I mean) opening the Power Mac when it's on? Or I should boot with leaving the door open?!? However I have just powered the Mac on, left it alone for 20 min with only Folding@home running, come back, open 2 windows on SeaMonkey... and the computer froze when closing down one window, and it took 3 restarts to boot this time: first time it just stuck at the grey screen with the darker shade of grey apple in the middle (with a strange grey horizontal line just over and left from the apple), 2nd restart it booted up to the desktop view, the mouse was working but I couldn't do anything apart from moving it around the screen, 3rd time is now... I don't think it's overheating (but still...). Thanks for the help.

  • My Mac freezes after waking up

I have a rMBP mid 2014 that keeps freezing after sleep, but not every time, since I upgraded to latest Yosemite 10.10.3. I can move the mouse and close all active programs, but it takes long time and will anyway not restart after that. I have to force power off and then power on again, then it will work for a while.
I have tried to do the upgrade again och even tried to reinstall Yosemite again, but it didn't help. Here's a report:

I'd be grateful for any help.

Rid the MBP of CleanMyMac.  It may very well be the source of your problems.
NO so called cleaning or performance applications should be installed in a Mac.  At best they will do nothing, at worst they can corrupt your system.
    Ciao.

    Hi, sixfinger.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Try forcing all applications to close and restart the device.  Once this is done test to see if the Mail app functions correctly.

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can read it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
    4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
    5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
    exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
    10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
    [Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
    12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
    14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.
