Cpu idle percentage

Can someone help me out in finding the System's Idle Process time or System's Idle Process's memory usage for windows.
(Which we can see in Task Manager)
Even after installing service pack 2 there in no 'pstat' installed. Any Idea??
I dont think any ready methods available and i am also new to JNI programmining.
Kindly help me out,
Thanks,
Muthu

Is there any other way to do.
I found that pstat was like tasklist which provides the list of processes running.
I need a method to find the cpu usage of the processes.
I could find the RAM sapace each process is occcupying but not the CPU usage time. Any idea..?

  • CPU Idle Percentage Near 90 -- Beachball City.

    {Sigh}
    Slow, slow, slow.
Approximately one month ago I upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard. My iMac has been sluggish to slow since. The context/problems/actions
There are three accounts on the computer. A root, a system administrator, and a guest account. The problems are much more pronounced in the System Administrator account than in the Guest account. (In hopes of resolving a Snow Leopard install Filevault issue I deleted a System Administrator account and shortly thereafter recreated it, using its original name.)
Put short, the beachball is a frequent visitor whether using Safari, Text Edit, Finder et al. Additionally, logging out of an account takes much more time than it once did: approximately three minutes to log out.
As to Safari -- slow to launch, slow to load pages. Two-five minutes to visit one page.
    What I have tried
    1) Checked Activity Monitor --- Percentage CPU of Safari and others is often at less than one percent. The CPU idle percentage is often in 90% range.
    2) Compared the DNS of the guest account and sys adm account --- Identical.
    3) Uninstalled Flash Player.
    4) Checked Disk Utility --- Verified disk. Errors found. Then through Snow Leopard Install Disk, repaired the Disk. Rechecked. No errors found.
    Additional info if helpful --
    1) The HD is size is 150 GB, only 30 GB in use.
    2) Two GB of Ram; one GB is listed as Free.
Day to day tasks are almost impossible in the sys adm account. Please help.
    Yours,

Thank you Lyssa, Pondini, and The hatter for taking an interest.
I took some time away from rooting against the Steelers to do some of the homework mentioned above.
    1) File Vault file -- Isn't on this HD; hasn't been on this HD for a couple of weeks. Rather, the file (the sparse bundle) was saved on an external and then deleted from this iMac's HD
    2) Smart Utility HD Check -- Results: "Failing;" what's more: "Pending Bad Sectors: 1." Continuing on, "Completed: read failure;" "Remaining 90%;" and "LBA of First Error: 101643935."
    3) System Log --- "Insert-Hang-Detected." This untrained eye takes immediate note of that message. It is most frequently associated with Safari, Safari Webpage Preview Fetcher, and Mail. An occasional "Query-Hang-Detected" is also spotted.
    4) System Preferences - Login Items --- Only one item reported: A Lexmark Printer that was removed several years ago.
Trying to help myself, elsewhere I read something about a "Performance Update 1.0" from October 2009 and how it could have ameliorated "Insert-Hang-Detected" problems. Yet, when I review the webpage for that Update I fail to see my iMac's model number listed.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3901
Lastly, I will attempt to copy and paste excerpts of the system log. I hope this works and offers insights.

  • No Server Name displyed in mail notification Alert generated by "total CPU Utilization Percentage is too high" Monitor

    Hello Everyone,
I need your assisstance in one of the issues with Mail Notification Alert generated by SCOM.
    Mail notification received as below:
Alert: Total CPU Utilization Percentage is too high
    Severity: 2
ServerName:Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard  - The threshold for the Processor\% Processor Time\_Total performance counter has been exceeded. The values that exceeded the threshold are: 97.091921488444015% CPU and a processor queue length of 16.
    Last modified by: System
The Alert was generated by "Total CPU Utilization Percentage"
But the problem with the above mail notification is it doesn't mentions about the affected server. So I would like to know how to tweak the monitors to provide the server name into it.
    Thanks & Regards,
    VROAN

    Hi
You can add alert source to the email format in the scom server.
    refer below link for parameters

  • Random???? CPU idle temps boot dependent

Does anybody have any idea why CPU idle temps can vary by 3 or 4 deg. C on different boot-ups?
Is it a bug of some form in bios?
For some strange reason my idle temps seem to fluctuate between either 32/33 deg. C or 35/36 deg. C. That temp stays fairly constant and will remain until next boot which may or may not have the lower or higher idle temp readings in both corecenter & NVIDIA MonitorView.
The boot temp also seems to affect the "under Load" temp higher limit by the same amounts (38/39 deg. C vice 41 deg. C).
The reason why I'm worrying about it at all is that I'm wondering if the board is reporting correct temps or if it's just making it up as it goes along.....
Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have.

I agree here, i dont know what CPU you are running or the MOBO you have since you didnt post it. Your temps seem fine from what you say, as for your fluxuation i would say that maybe your room temp has something to do with it, or maybe its a certain time of the day that the sun shines in your room and rases the temp a little bit. I dont think that your computer just makes it up as it goes...if it says the temp...its most likley the temp. I can simithise with you on wanting to know about temp, im constantly monitoring mine, but i have to say like abouve its not broke...dont fix it, or you might be fixing your whole computer.

  • How do I limit the user creat new connect when CPU idle 5%?

    my oracle database is 9.2.0.7,
I want to limited the new connection by created when the server (sun solars 5.9) cpu idle <5 % ?

    > I want to limited the new connection by created when the server (sun solars 5.9) cpu idle <5 % ?
This makes absolutely no sense at all. Not even borderline idiotic - it has invaded the land of idiots looking to conquer and become the biggest one of them all. :-)
But there is actually a very easy way to do it. Outside the database in a script, run uptime. It provides the system load averages for the past 1, 5, and 15 minutes. Use awk to extract these load numbers and use that to make the decision whether connectivity can be allowed or must be denied.
Next check if the Oracle Listener is up. If up and connectivity must be denied, shut it down. If down and connectivity must be allowed, start it. Else, leave it as is.
Then sleep for a few minutes and repeat.
To make this into a proper daemon, you can simply add it to /etc/inittab and have the kernel running it for you and respawning it when it runs into a problem and dies.

  • Cpu idle time is 2%

when i saw the st06  at the time of peak hours in the business the cpu idle time is below 30%

    Hi ,
you need to check the process which are running on SAP system.
1-You get this info by ST06-> TOP CPU
2-or from OS level via windows->task manager and see the process which are using high CPU execution time
In case of the process which are not from SAP, then you have to contact your OS network team, eg If you see any antivirus process consuming a lot of time.

  • Find CPU idle time

Can anybody help me out in finding the cpu time or cpu usage percentage for a particular process in windows xp environment.
Any suggestion should be of a great help.
    Thanks
    Muthu

    Can this found using java??Nope.
This is an OS specific question (Windows XP in your case).
Java cannot be useful in this area.
As already mentioned maybe the best way is to search at msdn.microsoft.com and google groups with appropriate keywords.
My experience with your specific issue is to use the WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) Performance Counter Win32 Classes components which are a set of COM objects (available on NT/2K/XP/2K3/Vista) that allows to do all sort of administrative tasks with the OS.
One of these classes ([url http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/wmisdk/wmi/win32_perfrawdata_perfproc_process.asp?frame=true]Win32_PerfRawData_PerfProc_Process class) is a performance counters that monitor running application program and system processes.
You should have a look at this post to know how to use this class:
    http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.win32.programmer.wmi/msg/ac8691a2f885f29e
By the way the microsoft.public.win32.programmer.wmi group is a good start to read/ask questions about WMI related issues.
To integrate your WMI solution with Java you have at least two solutions:
1- ( This is the simple solution. ) Create your vbs script (see the post above) then use Runtime.exec() to execute it and retrieve the appropriate information.
2- Use [url http://sourceforge.net/projects/jacob-project/]JACOB or any other Java COM bridge to instanciate and use
the COM object to retrieve the appropriate information.

  • CPU Idling during encode in Adobe Media Encoder - why?

Wonder if anyone can shed some light on this for me.
Basically, just encoding a very short video in Adobe Media Encoder (AME) and it's not taking too long but I happened to notice that my CPU activity was a bit idle despite it performing this task. Surely, it should have devoted a bit more energy to the encode ad got the job done sooner?
Here's a screen grab to explain:
Anyway, if anyone can advise why this is the case and whether it is normal or abnormal behaviour it would be really helpful.
    Many thanks,
    Alex

This could depend on a lot things.  Colorista and Looks, for example are processed on the GPU (using OpenGL, not CUDA), and can definitely create a bottleneck for the CPU.

  • System load average over 1.5 while cpu idle

Running 10.9.4.  My load averages are continuously around 1.5 or higher while my cpu is around 95% idle, no apps running, I've just rebooted and logged in.  This is very common now for my machine.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

On Unix systems that are idle I generally see near-zero load averages.  I would expect OS X to be in that general vicinity and seem to recall seeing near-zero numbers in the past when the system is idle.

  • KM2M Combo - 16 degrees CPU idle?!

OK, I'm confused. Both BIOS and pcAlert 4 shows that I have an idle temp on about 16 degrees C. With the board just laying on the floor without a case (I want to test it thoroughly before I go to all the trouble it is to mount it in my custom built metal suitcase). The temp on the floor is around 20 degrees, so that CPU temp is impossible, right?
I got the mobo yesterday for MP3 use in my car (it will replace a Celeron 433, so it's a big step up...). On it I use a 1,2 duron and SDRAM, so you might call it underclocked. And there's a Cooler Master of the Hoover type (noisy, if you get my drift) But still, this is impossible. Or is it? If it's correct, I'm hysterical. Then I won't have to worry about overheating when it's in my car!
And talk about boot times! I'm down to about 10 seconds from hibernation and less than 30 from cold start, and this is on WinXP with networkdrivers!  8)

THe Km2m doesnt have a little sensor inside the cpu socket to read the temps which can result that the motherboard can't display the temperature because theres no sensor to measure the temps from. If you had an XP processor then it would read temps just fine because it has a internal sensor.

  • Top or sar ??? both shows different cpu idle%

    hello all,
I know this is not a oracle related topic, but its related to performance issue on the server. I am using top and sar cmd find the top user session...but i actually found this...using the top cmd it shows me that my cpu is about 97% idle.....but using the sar cmd...sar -u to check for cpu stuff....it shows my cpu is about only 20% idle....and i actually ran the cmd about teh same time...from 2 different putty session....now that make me confused...which one is the right on ??
here is the top cmd (97% cpu idel)
    Cpu states:

    08:19:58       4       2      78      16
    Average        2       2      75      20

sounds just about right....i tried that on a 4 core machine and it looks good...but with all other 8 core it dose not give me right results...i guess sar cmd can only take upto 4 cpu...thanks

  • Help: MSI GS70 Stealth Pro 210- GPU Enables On CPU Idle?

Hello, my laptop has recently developed an issue where my GTX 870M GPU will activate only when I leave my PC idle for approximately 2-3 minutes. I tried to let the laptop idle and then hover over the GPU activity notification, but as soon as I move my mouse, the GPU deactivates. I also tried to see what process is causing it by leaving my mouse hovering over the Nvidia GPU Activity notification and letting it idle, but the GPU activity window closes before I can see the process. Is anyone else experiencing a similar problem? I do have Kaspersky Pure, so I don't believe it's a virus issue. Any suggestions are well appreciated. Thanks!

Going to try it on my msi gs70 and update it to you chc and whewlett if it works or not
Update: I can now confirm that it was nvidia experience doing the gpu switching up on idle since once i removed it on my laptop my laptop screen went bit dark and power button stayed white but i did hear cpu or gpu fan do fast noise but went quiet again but nvidia gpu didnt become active this time.
I even also noticed removing this program has even lowered temps on cpu a bit too since cpu temp usually be 45-49c as idle but now it's 41c.
    Thanks for the update.
