CPU in 13" model

What is the processor in the 13" model (the i5 one)?
I would like to see the exact specs of it from intel's page.
And for future reference, is there any place I can find this infomation?
And when I mean processor, I mean like "i5-380m", so I can find the full info.

I may be wrong, but from what I've learned here, Apple has Intel make them to their specs; unless they've changed that practice, you will not find the information anywhere because they are not "standard". You might ask someone at an Apple store, but I doubt they will have the information. I would guess it to be something Apple does not wish to share to maintain their advantage over competitors.

  • BOE license model (NUL v/s CPU)

    All,
I would like to know if anyone here has a good handle on how BOE licensing works. We are in touch with the BO Account Rep, but also wanted to check here if anyone knew.
We are in the process of converting our existing NUL to CPU-based. Anyone who is a customer with CPU-based license model or SAP folks, can you please confirm if the following points that I understand are true --
    a) Web Servers are not counted towards BOE licenses.
    b) The calculation of CPUs for multi (dual/quad) core machines is done as: 1 CPU license counted for 1st
CPU, 0.5 CPU license counted for every subsequent CPU on a server.
    Thanks!

question A: is true, it does not count
    question B: not sure

The CPUSPEEDNW is measured in "millions of Oracle operations per second" - but we don't know what "operation" Oracle is using for measuring. Since you have two difference operating systems, it's possible that the "operation" that Oracle uses is one that makes use of the "OSD" (operating system dependant) code and has a very different code path on the two machines that results in a very different speed of completion.

  • Arch only detecting 1 CPU 1 core instead of 16 processors

    EDIT:
It turns out it was a BIOS problem. I flashed to a different BIOS and reset everything to default settings in the BIOS, and now all 16 processors are recognized.
I have a system with an Asus Z8PE-D18 motherboard with 2 Xeon E5520 CPUs. Each CPU has 4 cores and 8 threads, so linux SMP should see 16 processors. But my recent Arch linux install only sees 1 CPU 1 core. Is this a kernel bug, or is something not configured properly? I have another similar machine running Ubuntu that sees all 16 processors, and the only difference I see offhand is that uname -a gives "SMP" but not "SMP PREEMPT" as shown below. Is that significant?
I'm new to Arch linux. What is the best way to try a different kernel without compiling it myself? Any suggestions on a kernel package to try?

Not the best one out there but still it should run good.
vlc, mplayer are even worse the have lots of lags. Havent tried gstreamer yet will look into that.
I've been tweaking my xorg.conf a bit and now i can get a larger screen out of it but the cpu still goes to 100%.

Which tells me I only have one cpu. Am I doing something wrong? I have cpufreq-utils and laptop-mode running, but I don't think it should affect this. The following is the output of cpufreq-info

and it also shows the two cpus, and cpu1 frequency gets higher when I do cpu intensive work, as it should, but cpu0 always stays at 800MHz. Can anybody help me please? Thanks!

Thanks foutrelis. I installed htop and monitored my cpu usage. It seems to be in working order. When I mentioned "cpu intensive work", it turned out that I was talking about something that was using average 50% on both cores, and assumed that meant one was at 100% and the other was 0% (I have conky tell me the average cpu usage).
Marking this as solved. Thanks again!

  • Only one CPU core recognized [solved]

For some reason the kernel only recognizes one CPU core out of two. I'm not completely sure at which kernel upgrade it disappeared but it is gone in 2.6.36 and 2.6.37. I know it was still there in september 2010 and earlier. I'm using a x86-64 kernel.

Motherboard is: Gigabyte MA770T-UD3P. I use the latest bios.
I have tried adding the kernel options "acpi=off noacpi apic=off noapic" as to the suggestion of a ubuntu bug report in launchpad but it didn't help. I also disabled ACPI in the bios but I'm still limited to one cpu core.
    Any ideas?
    [SOLVED]
I just doublechecked the BIOS settings and it had the CPU Core Control set to manual and one core was disabled. I set it to auto again and now both cores are recognized correctly. I don't recall ever touching this setting but at least it works now. Maybe a bios update actually changed the setting or (more probable) a friend of mine.

  • T440s - i7-4600U CPU - ONLY ONE core operating :((

    Hi,
I am an owner of Thinkpad T440s ultrabook, which has Intel i7 4600U CPU installed (exact model is 20AQ006BMC - the one with GeForce 730M graphic card).
Regarding to the documentation on Intel website, this CPU should have 2 cores and 4 threads (Hyperthreading). But when I start CPU-Z utility, it shows me, that I have only one core and two threads available. Same thing displays my process manager in Windows 8.1 - 1 core and 2 logical processors.
Any ideas, what could cause this problem?
    Thank you.

I have found review of exact same model (as I know, they differ in few other details like 3G modem etc.): http://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T440s-20AQ006BGE-Ultrabook-Review-Update.120211.0.html
And there is also screenshot from CPU-Z utility and there it shows correctly 2 cores and 4 threads:
So any idea, what could be an issue? Should I use warranty service? because it looks to me like a broken CPU

  • [SOLVED]KVM error for Intel CPU

KVM: entry failed, hardware error 0x80000021
If you're running a guest on an Intel machine without unrestricted mode
support, the failure can be most likely due to the guest entering an invalid
state for Intel VT. For example, the guest maybe running in big real mode
which is not supported on less recent Intel processors.
It is OK for WinXP/Linux guest run at text, but it failed after entering graphic mode. How to resolve this problem, thansk very much

Apart from the fact you use a very specific set of hardware for the VM, i don't see anything special.
A search with duckduckgo lead me to this german blog : virtualisierung-mit-kvm-und-virtuelle-netzwerke-mit-vde .
    (section KVM Hardware Error).
The error the blog poster got looks very similar to yours, and was solved by applying a special parameter to the kvm_intel kernel module.
    try loading the module with
    modprobe kvm_intel emulate_invalid_guest_state=0
and test if that solves the problem.
(it's probably best to rmmod the kvm_intel module before giving the above command)

    この二つの項目はSQLに使用したCPU時間だと考えていました。

  • Shut Down after CPU replacing

Hello, sorry for my bad english, I have a Lenovo b590 laptop essentials that work very well but I did upgrade to Intel Core I5 3210m. Initially with Pentium 2020m. The upgrade was done professionally, all goes well, is recognized by the BIOS, enter windows ... etc ... Works great but after 30 minutes fix closes without any error message, I'm desperate I did update the bios, I reinstalled windows and nothing. I'm desperate ... please help me. (( ((((( The Temp are OK 45C (

    hi Reichtofer,
Your friend is probably right. In this pdf info sheet, the B590 supports the following CPU:
    HM77 based models − Intel® Core™ i3
    HM77 based models − Intel® Core™ i5
    HM70 based models − Intel® Pentium®
    HM70 based models − Intel® Celeron®
    HM70 CPU/Chipset Compatibility list
    HM77 CPU/Chipset Compatibility list
It looks like you really need to change the motherboard to an HM77 chipset for the CPU to work properly.
Also, although the HM77 chipset does support both the Intel Pentium Dual-Core Mobile 2020M, Intel Core i5-3210M and other various CPU on the list above, looking at page 85 of the hardware maintenance manual, it seems like the BIOS is "restricted" to only use the following CPU:
    - Link to picture
In this case, there's no official way on how to remove the restriction as this is by design and you may need to do as what your friend suggested.
