CPU over 200%

I've been having a problem getting final cut Pro 5.1.2 to export an mpeg-2 using compressor 2.3. This has been an ongoing problem and I have posted in the final cut studio and compressor forums. During the troubleshooting process I have had Activity Monitor open while compressor is encoding the file. I have noticed that the percentage of processor being used spikes to over 200 percent (and the numbers turn from black to red) when compressor hangs on the file. So, the question is, is it possible for the mac pro to use over 100 percent of its processor. I'm hoping that this will help to narrow down my problems. Looking forward to feedback and thanks in advance.

Before you had posted I decided to wipe my system clean and start from scratch again so in order to duplicate the problem I'll need to finish updating my system but won't be able to do so for about 7 or 8 hours. I have posted one of my previous logs from a crash. Nothing has changed as far as the crash info. It is always a divide by zero error and seems to list the same info in the threads all the way to the crash. If I can give you any more info please let me know and thank you again for the help.
I keep getting 3x crash service down when compressor fails. My previous work around was to reinstall everything and go back to Final Cut Studio 5.1 (Compressor 2.1, Qmaster 2.1). Well, I'm at a point where I want to get this worked out. Here is the compressor crash log - it looks like it crashes in Thread 4. I hope someone can tell me what this is and how to resolve it. If more info from the log is needed it can be supplied. Thanks.

2007 MacBook Pro CPU exceeds 200° F

I've been searching for average running temperatures for MacBook Pros and can't seem to find the consensus. My late 2007 MBP regularly runs into the high 100°'s F (monitored my iStat) and the hottest component is always my GPU or CPU. The GPU will regularly reach 185° F+ while the CPU will hit over 200° F+ (the hottest I have caught it at is 211° F). This is with a fan control running - without it the computer would shut down daily.
I have yet to have someone take this matter seriously - are these normal running temperatures?
By no means am I pushing the computer - generally Safari will be opened to check RSS feeds then quit out of. Mail will be running in the background and possibly VLC for music and Preview for painting references. My computer is on an elevated vented stand in a rather cool (72° F) room while I work.
Is there something I can do to keep it cooler? Is this a hardware issue? I have already had one battery blow - possibly heat related?

I get nervous on my Late 2007 MBP when temp pass 170F, but that only happens if I test some game demo that's demands a lot from the system. Mine (running 10.6.4) idles at around 110 to 12oF and seldom exceed 140-150F doing routine stuff like word processing or browsing. The computer is supposed to do a safety shutdown at around 100C/212F so you are really close to the line.
If System Profiler (in Applications > Utilities) shows "Model Identifier" as "MacBookPro3,1" or MacBookPro4,1" you have the sometimes flaky NVIDEA 8600M GT graphics chipset that can fail in high heat conditions, so it behooves you to get control of the temps.
There are two areas to help you get temps under control:
1) Physical Arrangement: Don't use the computer in your lap or one a blanket, pillow or other surface that covers the case bottom. The case is a part of the heat dissipation system and air must get under the computer. The hinge area in the back also lets out some heat so it needs to be unobstructed.
If you use an external monitor, leave the built-in display open. A lot of heat escapes through the keyboard.
Those computer pads with fans help, but are not a complete cure-all.
2) Software issues: Sometimes a "runaway" background process can eat up enough processor cycles to run up the temps. I had this happen after running a game demo that caused the MBP to write to its system.log file continually and overheat.
Find Activity Monitor ("AM" hereafter) in your Utilities folder. Before launching it, quit all user applications but do not restart the computer. Now launch AM. If you've not used it before, its "Show" option in the upper part of the window will be at the default of "My Processes." Change that to "All Processes from the pull down menu in that option.
Now click the column in AM titled "%CPU" to sort everything by processor demands. Then watch what "bubbles" to the top of the list for a minute or two. Other than AM itself, no process should be using more than about 5% of the CPU cycles.
If something is using a lot or the processor, write it down and post it as a replay to your own thread and we can see how to tame it.

I've bought this motherboard..and with AMD Mobile 2500+ and many different types of 400 DDR memory i cant get FSB over 200 ...
it forks fine on 200 ...but when i go up 202 and higher motherboard reports error that CPU is damaged or not installed properly.
Can this motherborad work over 200 (since this is good OC motherboard) ..or should i forget this.....
Im very sorry that i bought this MB...since for that money i could get much better one...

Board is very picky on ram, your lucky that it works without problems to start with with mixed ram.
On Nforce 2 boards you gain a lot more performance running ram and FSB at 1:1 ratio. And with your ram i would keep it at 200FSB and not higher. If you really want to go over 200FSB and still run 1:1 then you will need new ram.
My overall suggestion is leave the 200X12.5 and run your ram 1:1

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

What settings do you have on your iOS devices ? You can use Settings > General > Restrictions on an iOS device to prevent in-app purchases, and to require your password to be entered for every download (the default is a 15 minute period during which it doesn't need re-entering).

You can only view your account's purchase history, you can't view a history of card redemptions.
My account's balance shows at the top left of the store's page on my computer's iTunes, and by logging in to view my account via the Store > View Account menu option. On my iOS devices it shows at the bottom of, for example, the Featured tab in the App Store app under my account id (or you can view your account via Settings > iTunes & App Stores and it should show on the screen that you are taken to).
To view your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases.

Do some testing to get your method working right with some less than important footage.
Copy/paste files where you want then.
Use the FCE Reconnect feature to tell FCE where the newly copied files reside.
Make sure the new location and files are working as expected with your Projects.
Delete the original files if no longer required.

You're welcome. Given the number of people who seem to have problems restoring photos from their backup I wouldn't trust the iCloud backup for my photos anyway. I always import them to my computer at least weekly. That way I know I have them.
You might want to check out the app PhotoSync. It makes this pretty easy as it transfers them to your computer wirelessly and keeps track of which ones have already been transferred.

Please follow :-
Step 1
Open the text file in a text editor, such as Notepad. Each address should reside on a separate line or be separated by a semicolon. You can include multiple fields, such as names and addresses, by separating the fields by a space or tab.
Step 2
Press "Ctrl-A" to select all contacts on the list and then "Ctrl-C" to copy them.
Step 3
Click "New Items" from the main Outlook window, "More Items" and then "Contact Group."
Step 4
Click "Add Members" and then "From Address Book."
Step 5
Click the "Members" field, press "Ctrl-V" to paste the list of emails and click "OK."
Step 6
Click the "Name" field and type a name for the group.
Step 7
Click "Save & Close" to save your changes.
Step 8
Click "New Email" and type the name of the group in the "To" field. You can then compose and send email as usual.

You will need to work out why they are ineligible, are they the wrong format, are the file sizes simply too large or is the data rate at which the audio was iencoded too low.

I have been a loyal customer of Verizon Wireless for YEARS.
With that said, I purchased a smartphone in December of 2009 and have had it since.
Earlier this year, my bill was starting to be over $200 and I called Verizon asking why it costed so much.
They told me they could help out by putting me on a customer loyalty plan which they told me would substantially decrease the ammount I am paying.
Since the switch to the so-called "customer loyalty plan", I have constantly gone over my minutes and texts and my bill this month is $280. I cannot afford to be paying hundreds of dollars for a phone when I could easily goto another provider and pay less than $100 for all of the same features.
Furthermore, I noticed new charges and a letter detailing these new charges.
In the customer service agreement and contract, it specifically states that if you have a new charge that is brought up that you did not authorize and you do not agree with (no matter the monetary amount) you can end your contract without paying the early termination fee.
I called customer service and requested to cancel my contract due to this clause in the agreement, but noone at Verizon on the customer service line, including at least 3-4 reps and 2 supervisors all have refused to acknowledge or accept this clause in the service agreement.
Refusing to accept a clause that YOU wrote in YOUR contract that I myself signed is not only flatout wrong and fraudulent, it is illegal. I will be contacting my lawyers in the near future to resolve this in small claims court.
Verizon is a scam, a fraud, and a rip-off. I will tell everyone I know for the rest of my entire life to never shop or do business with Verizon. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

What charge are you claiming was placed on your bill without your authorization? You just said that you authorized the change to the loyalty plan during your call...
How many minutes, texts and MBs of data do you use each month? It sounds like you need to be on a plan with a higher allowance, but maybe you don't need to go all the way up to unlimited (which is probably where you were before, at over $200/month).
Do you have other features on the account you could remove? Like a subscription to VZ Navigator or another app, ringtone/media purchases, insurance/extended warranty coverage for your phone? Those small add-ins can add up to a big difference in your bill.

Calling an SP takes over 200% more time over the select statement

As part of my POC converting a SQL Server application over to SAP HANA, I'm find that CALL is taking over 200% more time than calling the SELECT statement directly. The result is that the application that uses ODBC against HANA with CALL statements is taking much more time than SQL Server. I'm finding this for all stored procedure calls in the application. Here is an example:

Expected behavior: The data set for each of the tables is filtered out and then joined. Although the filter is expected to be pushed to each of the joined tables even in your case, but this is worth the try.

Check the Recently Deleted album. Deleted photos will reside there for up to 30 days. This allows all those people who accidently delete photos to recover them, something they couldn't do before. To actually free up the space you might have to delete the photos in the Recently Deleted album.
