CPU ratio does not go higher & mem Question

Is CPU ratio the same as the mulitplier? IF so why soes mine not go higher than 10, despite reading here that people are setting theirs at 11 and 12 using the same board as mine. I'm not even sure what this does?
Right now I'm in the process of trying to overclock my machine, but getting nowhere near what some are getting here.
Mind you, I think it has a lot to do with my ram since I can not get it to post when my ram sticks are in slot 1 and 2. It only works in slot 1 and 3 with either 2 sticks of samsung or 2 sticks of infineon ram (2 sticks of 512, PC3200). Also it will not boot unless using 2T. 1T only works with one stick in slot 1.
No clue if it is the memory, although I tried 2 different types of the motherboard.
And there are so many different types of memory, I have no idea what it is I really should be getting?

Cpu Ratio/Multiplier see Extremeoverclocking Part 1: The available CPU's Each CPU in link shows the top multiplier that can be applied in the Multiplier you can run on lower values but not higher.
Read up some of the oc in this forum & check out the memory their using as a starting point.

If I understand you, the MCU drives the DONE signal low when you first power-on the system, but should release the pin (go hi-Z) when it has finished its own startup initialization? It is OK for the DONE pin to be pulled low by an external source. That is one way to prevent the FPGA from starting up until other board circuitry is ready. However once the external device is no longer driving low, the DONE signal should go high. I would double-check your MCU software to be sure you are not still driving the signal low after initialization. If possible, try to disconnect the MCU from the circuit to see if DONE goes high.

K7T TURBO2 DOES NOT SUPPORT HIGH DENSITY RAM

It took three weeks of digging, but I finally found out why my MS6330 v5.0 continues to crash when I try to play games on it.
Despite what MSI says about this board supporting the AMD ATHLON XP 2100+, the K7T TURBO2 does not. In fact, AMD doesn't recommend any motherboard that uses 168 pin ram for use with processors XP 2100+ and above.
Needless to say, I'm very disappointed with MSI. I've built my entire system around this motherboard, I bought a gig-and-a-half of PC-133 ram for this computer!
If I hadn't done any homework, and just went out and blindly bought components and hoped it would work, well then I would deserve to have a junk system. However, that is not the case here! I read (before I bought anything) MSI's compatability charts, and I'm well within the parameters stated there.
I just thought that I'd let any potential buyers know this info, so they can save themselves some grief. This seemed to be a very mysterious situation in my previous posts, I have a hard time believing that this forum has never seen problems with this configuation before.

Also, you should know that I LOVE working with my computer's hardware and other technical components. I don't often find myself with this level of frustration when doing these kind of procedures. Using a methodical step-by-step approach and keeping documentation of these steps usually uncovers the inherent problems of building your own system in a matter of a few hours, perhaps even days... but not months.
As you have suggested, I have, of course started with a barebones system (1 ram, lots, of fans, default bios, 1 hdd-fdd-cdrom) and these problems do not go away, even with the most basic settings.
This is what I've determined by using my AMD Tbird 1.4 CPU on the same motherboard, with the FSB jumper back in: The motherboard is not defective. I can run everything that I'd like to with this different CPU in. Whether the problems I'm seeing with the XP 2100+ are caused by changing the FSB to 133 or not, I'm not certain. However, changing the cpu and the FSB are the only changes that need to be made to see these problems return.
By the way, I can overclock the hell out of my CPU and get my computer to boot too. It just doesn't solve the problems I'm having, so I don't bother -- yet
I've tried a different video card, and I get the same trouble.
I've tried my ram in another system (one at a time and all together) and run memtest86 on it for 25 hours. No trouble there.
My PSU serves up 220 Watts across the 3.3v and 5v outputs. This seems sufficient.
I have a total of 9 high output fans in this system, and my CPU runs at a balmy 56 C while running the distributed.net client. ( I ran it overnight, with no problems)
Obviously, this is a graphics related problem, and adjusting texture detail directly affects the amount of time that passes before the game hangs or crashes. Less is more, if you know what I mean
I've read that this is a known issue with older VIA chipsets. The article was a little dated though, about 18 months ago.
If there is anything that I'm missing, please let me know.
I'll write more details later, if you'd like to help me troubleshoot this problem.

(Solved) P67A-G43 Won't OC After BIOS 5.4 (BIOS Shows OC, but CPU-Z Does Not)

After upgrading a P67A-G43 with BIOS 5.4 in preparation for a 3770k, the existing 2600k doesn't OC.
Setting the CPU ratio in BIOS shows the correct ratio in top right stats and in the ratio setting and, after disabling graphic splash, the correct multiplier is even shown on the POST. However, CPU-Z in the OS and benchmark results show only the stock 3.4.
In normal mode I tried 35, 37, 40, 44. OCG mode has the same problem. Although it show 42, CPU-Z shows only stock.
I can down-clock fine (and CPU-Z shows the correct down-clock ratio), but going above 3.4 is a non-starter.

If you disable Turbo, the core limits are not shown in the CPU settings. You have to enable Turbo, set the core limits, and then disable Turbo.

Window SRID does not match Layer SRID question

I would like to do a simple window query to see what points fall inside a specific rectangle as follows:

The problem is that the SRIDs do not match. the points in the geometry_map table have an SRID of 8265, while the frames in my frame_boundary table have a null SRID.
My question is this:
Is there an easy way around this problem? ...or do I need to re-input all the points to the geom_map to have null SRIDs so that they both match. - this would be a nightmare!!!
I tried to do an SDO_Filter query instead, this is fine when I put in the 4 coordinates of the frame manually (see below) , but I think the same SRID problem rears its head when I just reference a frame by its id.

Per the Oracle Spatial User's Guide and Reference, "For Spatial operators that take two geometries as input parameters, if the geometries are based on different coordinate systems, the query window (the second geometry) is transformed to the coordinate system of the first geometry before the operation is performed. This transformation is a temporary internal operation performed by Spatial; it does not affect any stored query-window geometry." The problem in the first query is not that the SRIDs don't match, it's that in order for coordinate system transformation to work, there must be a SRID for the second geometry (in other words, it cannot be NULL). Your best bet in this case would be to update the frame_boundary table to include a SRID. You can do this by simply dropping the index on frame_boundary, using an update statement (update frame_boundary fb set fb.boundary.sdo_srid=8265), update the USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA view to include the SRID for frame_boundary, then reindex.
Other things to note here:
1) If frame_boundary truly includes only rectangles, SDO_FILTER will be faster as it will compute an anyinteract calculation based solely on the index (which is an MBR-only calculation that may work almost exactly as SDO_RELATE was working for you).
2) If you are pulling the geometries from two tables, you will want to include an /*+ ORDERED */ optimizer hint. So, your first query would look like this:

CPU frequency does not down-clock when idle, Power waste or is this OK?

I was browsing through the BSD sysctl's of OSX 10.6.2 today and noticed something I thought odd. Looking this up on different searches produced no useful results so I thought I'd ask here.
It seems that the MacBook late 2006 Core2Duo T7200 model has no cpu speed scaling. As far as I can tell, looking in the 'sysctl' output gave me these results:

What this shows, CPU frequency maximum minimum are both 2 GHz, bus max and min are also 664mhz. These should be able to change I would think.
(The "tbfrequency" value I believe is timer speed; 1gigahertz assures smooth media playback and interactivity. This is not the issue)
I was under the impression that Core 2 Duo's were supposed to have "SpeedStep", to make the cpu run slower to draw less power and generate less heat. On my desktop, this definitely works and I have measured it with my Kill-A-Watt meter. I would think the same happens with all cpus, so I wonder: In my macbook, is the lack of slowing down the CPU using more power than necessary?

I'm sure it's slightly less efficient. However, any CPU will still use a lot less power when there's less of a load (as you can see by running CPU-intensive tasks and watching the battery drain compared to when nothing is open).

My iphone 4s does not record high definition video

I cant find anything in the settings that allows 1080p to be turned on or off, but my camera is most definitely NOT recording at this level. Any suggestions as to how I can change that, or do I need to visit the Apple store?

I"m not even trying to pull them from the phone. I record a video, using the back camera, and when I watch the video on the phone itself, it is VERY grainy. My girlfriend has the iphone 4 (no 's') and the videos on her phone are much clearer, even when sent to my phone for viewing. I've cleaned the lens, and made sure the case doesnt get in the way, or cover the lens in any way.
I think I just got a bum phone, but wanted to be sure there isnt something in the settings that I need to adjust before taking it to the Apple store. Closest one is an hour away, so I dont want to make the drive if I dont need to.

That is the wrong system disc, the Mid 2007 Mac Mini's originally came with Tiger 10.4. You must have been sent the wrong disc, because that gray 10.6 system disc is obviously for a later Mac.

At this point I'm afraid that your options are very limited.
1. Call Apple, have your serial # handy and ask for a replacement Tiger disc set. Problem is that it wouldn't be of much use, except for maybe running the Apple Hardware Test.

2. Purchase a Retail Snow Leopard Upgrade disc.

As for the RAM, if 2GB is shown in both Apple / About This Mac and in the Activity Monitor then there is a pretty good chance that's it OK. Of course it is hard to test without the original disc set and in your case may need to be done with a third party RAM checker like Memtest OS X

OpenScript for Siebel does not recoginize high interactivity

I have installed OATS, but when I try to record a test for Siebel through openscript, it is recorded in Standard Interactivity mode. Also in objects tests Siebel objects are recoginized as web objects.

I'm guessing that you try to create a functional test script, dont't you?
You need to activate the Siebel Test Automation library as indicated in the OpenScript User Guide (pdf in the C:\OracleATS\docs folder).
To do so, you need a licence (from licence.oracle.com) and you need to configure 2 parameters in Siebel.
You also need to start the Siebel application by adding a parameter to the URL SWECmd=AutoOn.
Again everything is explained in the standard doc.

I upgraded from an i5 to an i7 15" MBP and restored my files using my time machine backup. All seemed to go ok, except I had to use the migration assistant because on the initial boot the MAC didn't recognize the backup database on the USB device. MAybe this is a hint.
Since when I start FCPX it too cannot finnd the project or event directories.
Before my upgrade, I had a choice of files either on the Macintosh disk or the 2TB USB disk.
Now only files on the Macintosh are accessible to FCPX. The USB drive is visible under events and project but it finds no projects or events.
Please help if you can.

I think I have the structure that you are recommending.
I have a root level directory (Final Cut Events) with the files in them.
The puzzling thing is that it used to work before the migration!.
Anyway I'm going to move the contents to the root and see what happens.
On a slightly different note...
I also posted a question about CPU utilization. Can I ask a question or two?
While rendering a short clip, I noticed burst of disk activity when the render started (likely loading the media files into ram since I have about 4Gigs available, then almost no activity while the render is happening, then more disk activity when its done.
However the cpu activity is not as high as I would have expected since rendering requires a lot of cpu.
What is your experience? I know some render is done by the GPU, but in my older i5 the CPU was about 100%, now in my i7 its about 50%.
Please look at the attached utilization for CPU and disk activity.

I install Microsoft patch Patch KB2972207 which supports only Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 on Windows Server 2003 R2 x86 update on my WS 2003.
I am using Web Application which is having .Net framework 2 SP1.
Am I able to apply above Microsoft patch to that Web Application?
After successfully installation of patch when I run browser for that Web Application I am getting Error stated :"The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference"
If i remove above patch and reboot my system...No such error occurs.
Please let me know where is problem in high emergency!

Z87-G45 GAMING unable to enable EIST when changing CPU ratio

I need some advice please.
The moment I change the CPU ratio using the +- my options for enabling turbo core and EIST gets greyed out.
I get the option to se the ratio to Dynamic mode and have tried it but the CPU still does not throttle down multipliers in Windows even if idle.
Have tried the following.
Loaded BIOS 1.3
Cleared CMOS left out battery etc.
Still does not allow me to enable it.
