Cpu use tops 100% after I load tiger help

My cpu load according to my x-rescource graph has gone out the roof and there is only 1 program running, the heat is is causing fan to come on. I have run disk permission with cocktail and on the disk utility. If this continues I will have to revert back to the panther, help, I fear this could damage my machine as it is running way too hot.

I don't know what an "x-resource graph" is, but if you open Activity Monitor in your /Applications/Utilities folder, and look at the CPU usage, you will be able to see exactly which process(es) is (are) demanding these resources.
Please post back with what you find.

    Hi ora,
the top output don't tell me diddly-squat except that your load looks high and it looks like your swap might be an issue (but it could have been just pasted badly).
What is your problem... Is your database performance slow? Then use something like an AWR report to track the issue.
Is your OS performance bad? Then preferably ask your sysadmin to track the issue, but you can use commands like iostat, sar etc. to track contention on the OS.
You can look at /proc/meminfo for more info on memory.
I will say a good starting point will be to give us more info, Oracle and OS version and state your problem clearly.

  • Using af:clientListener after page load

    Hi,
I need to run a js function after* the page finishes loading.
I tried to use <af:clientListener type="load" method="fillProjectList"/>, but the script starts running before the table on the page finished loading.
    The table has: clientComponent="true"
How can I make the script to start runng only after all table components are loaded?
    Thank you,
    Nina

Ah.. i guess it will not work as you cannot do any UI activity after the render response phase. May be try this
Javascript into JSPX and run after page is loaded?

  • Sorting by Characteristic Result Rows using Condition Top 100%

I need to sort characteristic by results and use <<Top 100%>> condition to do it.
I got three characteristics in my query:

    3. Planning Level
    And three key figures
    1. Planned amount
    2. Actual amount
    3. Deviation % (Actual/Planned) (calculated by using amounts, Date and Planning Level)
I need to know best palnning organisations by sorting them on deviation results on Organisation Level.
Also I need Date  and planning Level characteristics involved in query, because they taken in  Deviation formula.
Then I use condition (Top 100%) by Organization, the query doesn't sort Organisations by Deviation properly Any ideas why? I tried to add one extra characteristic in query on top of Organisation and use it in condition but it doesn't work either.

  • Profit and loss of the sales of my top 100 customers

    Hi,
I would like to have a query in SAP BW which delivers me the following information:
the profit and loss of the sales of my top 100 customers (customers with the highest sales per month). So basically I would like to compare the sales from these customers of the current month to the previous month.
    Thank you for any help!

    hi,
u can compare values by creating restricted 2 RKFs.
    RKF1  : selling price is restricted by 0CALMONTH.create a variable on 0CALMONTH(single value,mandatory,ready for input...etc).
right click on structure--->new selection...drag and drop selling value and 0CALMONTH.
RKF2 :selling price is restricted by 0CALMONTH.use the same variable which u created and set Offset value '-1'.
so it will give u sales price for previous month(if u ente current month in selection screen)...
take customer in rows and these RKFs in columns(in  structure).
later use condition to display top 100 customers..
    hope this helps..
pl dont foget to assign points to helpful answers....thats the way to say thanks here.

  • 100% cpu drain few minutes after boot

I have strange problem with CPU drain. For most of the time 4 cpu (of 8 in total) cores run at 100% after few minutes when system boots (by conky).
My desktop laptop is quite powerful but because all of this cpu load it lags even if I play some music and start eclipse (for example).
I run mpstat but I looks rather ok for me - I'm not an expert in hardware topics.
At the time when I write this post I have this processes running:

I already do some solutions posted by Blackwind in topic of kworkers https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 3#p1055463 but without any results.
If there is any information, logs and other debugs info I could provide ask me about them. Debbuging this problem looks like iceberg to me. There are so many possibilities that I don't known how to even start.
What could be a reason of this cpu drain and how to debug it?
    thanks

Thanks for your reply. I installed gnome-system-monitor and everything looks ok. It is my conky that is giving strange informations. I will check conkys configuration file in a free while.

  • Some web pages causing 100% CPU use of iexplore.exe since Flash update

I'm having a problem with certain Amazon.com pages hanging my
Internet Explorer 6 using Flash Player 10,0,12,36, causing 100% CPU
use for iexplore.exe and requiring me to End Task to quit. All the
pages effected have an interactive mouseover Size and Color chart
that intially says "Loading" but then says "Select Size and Color"
once loaded. One mouseovers the various color patches and size
options, each time giving item availability in that option. When
the pages hang the IE browser with 100% CPU use that chart never
gets to the "Select Size and Color" point, instead stuck at the
"Loading" status. This happens most times, but not every time.
Sometimes the pages load correctly, after a brief lag as it loads
    the chart.
Amazon pages without this chart load fine.
The start of this problem coincides with updating Flash.
I can prevent the problem from happening almost every time if
I can quickly get my cursor into that chart area while the page
begins loading. If I allow the pages to load fully with no
interaction they will hang almost every time.
I have not noticed any problems on those same web pages using
    Firefox using Flash Player 9,0,124,0
I also have not noticed any issues with other sites using
Internet Explorer either. (YouTube, QVC, CNN...etc, all OK.)
I had posted for assistance on the Experts Exchange site and
there was some debate on whether the chart was a Java or
Flash-based chart, so initially it was being approached as a
possible Java issue, so I removed all Java versions on the system
and installed various versions, but the same problem persists.
I've downloaded but not run the Flash Uninstaller, as I'm
reluctant to uninstall the Firefox Flash version without knowing
for sure I could install 9,0,124,0 again.
I've downloaded an archived fp9_archive.zip, which seems to
indicate the contained files flashplayer9r124_winax.exe (Internet
Explorer) and flashplayer9r124_win.exe (Netscape) would be versions
9,0,124,0 to install after running the uninstaller.
Can anyone check a few of the links below and see if the
"Select Size and Color" chart is Flash based? If so, would
executing the files listed above install 9,0,124,0 into my
    respective browsers again?

could take a look at my initial post and advise if the issue seems
    to be Flash related.

  • ITunes uses almost 100% of CPU and slows PC down

Recently I decided to start using my iPod touch 4G again and downloaded the latest version of iTunes.
Upon launch, iTunes acts normally until about 4-5 minutes of being open (just in idle). It then happily proceeds to use up 100% of my CPU load and slows my entire PC down to a halt, even once I've closed it (iTunes).
I've tried re-installing it, downloading a different version, disconnecting from the internet, practically everything and yet the problem persists.
My PC specs are as follows:
    Amd FX Piledriver 8-Core FX-8350 @ 4.0GHz
    Powercolour HD7990 Devil 13
    G-Skill 1866Mhz 16Gb memory
OCZ Vector 128Gb HDD / WD Caviar Green 3TB
So I can assure you, this is NOT hardware related.
I've tried the following method with no results.
    1) Click Start and type "cmd" (without the quotes) DO NOT press enter or Ok yet.
    2) Right click "cmd" in the search results at the top of the start menu and select "Run as Administrator".
    3) In the command window, type "netsh" and press enter. (Without the quotes)
    4) In the next prompt, type "winsock" and press enter. (Without the quotes)
    5) In the next prompt, type "reset" and press enter. (Without the quotes)
    6) Reboot the PC. (Do not skip this step)
I've also been through the list of conflicting software and have none of the mentioned.
I'm running Windows 7 with the latest updates.
I'm getting extremely frustrated now. ANY help would be appreciated.

Sorry. I did a search, and a lot of threads came up. The one I chose, I thought, explained WHY it happened.
Maybe you'd get answers more helpful to you, if you went throught the search results.
Sorry I wasn't of any assistance.

  • Firefox using almost 100% CPU - hogging resources - hanging

After several hours of operating Firefox starts using almost 100% CPU - with peaks of 100% occurring in rapid succession - FF hangs until CPU useage drops below 100%
Followed recommended troubleshooting as recommended on this site:
    * Started in Safe mode - no problems occurred.
    * Disabled all extensions; Plug-ins left operating.
    * No replication of problems.
    * Enable 1/2 of extensions up to Flashblock - restarted - seems ok
    * Enable most remaining extensions
    * (There are 3 Java extesnions - only enabling one) - again seems ok
    * Some hours later - problem reoccurred. Each time CPU useage peaked at 100% (according to Task Manager) the Firefox Window flickered & was unresponsive.
    * Deleted cache - no change
    * Disabled recently added programs - no change
FF opens and closes normally & completely. '''Problem only seems to occur after FF has been operating for some time'''
This has occurred intermittantly before but has become chronic over the last few days. Apologies if I've been repetitive or explained poorly - FF has hung several times while typing this.

No issue for me, after 4 loops my CPU load was around 18%.
    Firefox 33.1.1 under Windows Vista.

  • YouTube will not work on safari for me on the ipad. Is there anyway to fix this? I can go anywhere else on the internet fine and it works on google chrome, but on safari it shows a blank screen with the bar on top after it loads.

YouTube will not work on safari for me on the ipad. Is there anyway to fix this? I can go anywhere else on the internet fine and it works on google chrome, but on safari it shows a blank screen with the bar on top after it loads, if it's even loading at all.
I do not know if it's relevant or not, but I got a message on my ipad while on safari saying that my iPhone has a virus. I looked it up and it seems it might have just been an ad from the website I was on, but it happened around the same time YouTube stopped working.

You will find that using the YouTube app will provide a better viewing experience for YouTube videos.

  • Plugin-container.exe is using 90-100% CPU - even while running Firefox in safe-mode. Can I fix this?

I am using fire fox 5.0 (after using 3.6 for what seems like forever) and the plugin-container.exe has been sucking up my CPU power like a vampire. It had been doing that in 3.6 but not as much. I figured if I upgraded the problem would go away, but no, it has not. After reading some other similar posts, I ran Firefox in safe mode with no plugins running and sure enough after browsing for a bit it started running slower and used 90-100% of my CPU. Is there any way to fix this issue? Or am I doomed? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

That's supposed to show you the problem isn't Firefox, don't know how successful that actually is. You can delete it so that it starts up again. Susggest restarting Firefox when you see it has used about an hour of CPU time as the next hour of CPU time will take shorter to get there and you will be locked out.
Also see this -- the solution on all the items seem to fix a lot of problems with the places.sqlite database.
