ST06 is showing a Application server CPU usage.
If your thinking that it should be higher you might check the saposcol release level.
If your looking for DB server CPU then you will need ST07 if sapcl and things are configured correctly.
Or get the system Z team to look at usage in RMF reports for given time interval.
The system CPU usage can be seen for history in st07n history section if you want to see usage over say last 24-36 hours

  • RV 082 or 042 V3 - cpu utilization

    Hi.
    Is there a way to get via web interface or via snmp data regarding CPU utilization, idle time etc for RV042 / RV082 V3?
    I am using RV082 with 96 vpn tunnels on each unit and would be nice to have such info.
    In RV220W I saw that in new firmware (1.0.2.4) there is a DASHBOARD web page.

  • LR 1.1 High (~60%) CPU utilization when LR is idle

    When I startup LR without doing anything, in the LIBRARY module LR idles at just under 60% CPU utilization (dual processors, 4GB mem) and has been for the last 20 minutes. The LR catalog and preview files have all been defragmented. The LR catalog has been optimized. This situation seems to happen about 3/4ths the time that I run LR. It does not prevent other LR activities.
    A) Is there anyway to discover what LR is doing?
    B) Any ideas on how to fix?

    I haven't done an import, nor asked it to build previews, and there is nothing showing in the upper left where it shows long running tasks. I haven't done an import in a while. It could be building XMP files, if those weren't built at conversion time. I asked this time around to have XMP files built. I am hoping that XMP files might make it easier to work with DxO.
    After about 20 minutes it stops the high utilization.
    Just strange behavior, not a problem in itself, but maybe related to some problem.
    Thanks,

  • High time consumption and CPU utilization on EPM 11.1.2.1

    We are using a distributed environment for EPM system 11.1.2.0, in which, on system A, Foundation services and Planning have been installed and on system B, Essbase, Admin Services and Provider Services have been installed.
    The configuration for the two systems is as mentioned below :
    System A:
    intel Xenon CPU X7560 2.27 GHz (dual core)
    12 GB RAM
    System B:
    intel Xenon CPU X7560 2.27 GHz (dual core)
    8 GB RAM
    A business rule takes 15 minutes on being executed on version 9.3.1; whereas the time consumed on system 11.1.2.1 varies from 3 hours (mostly) to 10 minutes.
    This business rule aggregates 5 dimensions (1 dense and 4 sparse). It does not create any new blocks and intelligent calc is also set to off.
    Although the cache and memory values on the newer system are higher than the previous version, we fail to reduce the time consumption and CPU utilization. Please help us resolve this issue.

    Your issues is beyond the scope of a forum. I suggest you find an infrastructure person who has Essbase experience. Your machines also have less resources than the standard deployment guide recommends.
    This would appear to either be lack of physical memory or an issue with the IO speed of the disk subsystem which you are storing your Essbase data on.

  • Cpu idle time is 2%

    when i saw the st06  at the time of peak hours in the business the cpu idle time is below 30%

    Hi ,
    you need to check the process which are running on SAP system.
    1-You get this info by ST06-> TOP CPU
    2-or from OS level via windows->task manager and see the process which are using high CPU execution time
    In case of the process which are not from SAP, then you have to contact your OS network team, eg If you see any antivirus process consuming a lot of time.
    Pls Fete points if useful .

  • Syslogd daemon take lot of cpu time arounf 50% of cpu utilization.

    syslogd daemon problem it take lot of cpu time arounf 50% of cpu utilization. How do i solve this issue without reboot.

    You can try then a "/etc/init.d/syslog stop" and "/etc/init.d/syslog start"
    This is only a solution which perhaps will solve your load problem. But obviously
    you should investigate why you have this strange behavior.

  • How to reduce CPU utilization time in Java Application

    Hi,
    I have created a Java Application. It is a 3-tier architecture. While running my Java application, the CPU utilization percentage shots up to 100 %. I feel that it will affect the system performance and it will hang up the system also.
    If any body know the solution to reduce the CPU utilization or links, please post it.
    Thanks in advance.

    I know Java class file must be interpreted by VM. but
    Visual Basic is also a language to be interpreted. Why
    it run faster than Java? As Java running speed is
    concerned, it's unwise to apply to the
    enterprise-level application. Now I can't endure Java
    running speed. I wander to know whether it is
    associated with operating system or not.1. Java is nto interpreted in modern (since 1997 or earlier) JVM's - it is compiled into machine code as it is executed via a JIT or a Dynamic compiler (like HotSpot).
    2. VB (5 and later) is also not truely interpreted - in fact it uses the same excellent native code generator used by Visual C++.
    3. Java is principally used these days for enterprise server-based systems where it performs extremely well - or extremely poorly as does C++ in the hands of people who don't know how to use it.
    4. Different JVM's (and in some cases the same JVM hosted on different OS's) perform at different speeds - your mileage will vary. The OS has little influence on the computational speed of java but can highly influence its network, disk and graphics performance, as does hardware configuration (local console versus X terminal - Swing sucks on X Term).

  • How is GC cpu utilization % calculated?

    I am trying to find a way to capture the problem where a user process eats up a ton of cpu for over 30 minutes. I thought that I could possibly use the cpu utilization metric.
    In testing it, I reset the values to warning and critical thresholds to 0 and 5% respectively to see what would happen. I was emailed with the expected critical alert. In looking at the top sessions on the server, I noticed that 1 session was eating up 100% of one cpu (which I want to know about) but the alert email said that 45% was utilized which I noticed was about what the user load is on the server.
    Initially, I had the warning and critical threshold set to 85 and 95% respectively but did not get any warning about a user process that was taking up 100% cpu for > 5 minutes (in which the 5 minute collect times were set to once).
    My questions are
    1) How do I capture a single process eating up > 90% cpu in a multi-cpu environment
    2) Is the cpu utilization % capturing the Average Load of the cpus on the server and alerting when it's above the critical threshold?
    3) How is the cpu utilization % calculated?
    Help would be appreciated.

    The cpu load is determined by running the Grid program nmupm found in $AGENT_HOME/bin
    The output is like:
    dbc12ykf: PDBGRP> nmupm osCpuUsage
    em_result=1|206331806.000000|201540370.000000|102524043.000000|958620752.000000
    em_result=2|212731589.000000|201203614.000000|67775500.000000|948506267.000000
    em_result=3|212402913.000000|230642957.000000|76833167.000000|917779040.000000
    em_result=4|242543014.000000|367865067.000000|81554006.000000|791426607.000000
    You will get a line for each cpu.
    YOu'll need a bit of reverse engineering to figure out the columns - I think they are user, system, idle , 5min avg - Multiplied by 10000 ?
    Now to capture a big one - I think you will need a user defined metric. Just write a simple shell script to run the above command, and evaluate the numbers coming thru.

  • CPU goes idle and then comes back..why?

    During stress testing we ran 100 concurrent logons and then logoffs with the first 84 user completing this test run in 20 - 30 seconds. During this time both Portal ap1 and ap2 hit 100% utilization on the servers. After the 20 - 30 seconds the portal aps CPU goes idle and the
    remaining 16 users out of the 100 hit a 120 second delay before there request returns processing the test and completes. During this 120 sec delay I see the aps CPU go idles until the 120 sec time expires.
    What is causing this 120 sec delay?

    Hello Vaibhav,
    sorry I have no answer to your question. I want to know what tool you are using to do the stress test. We go live in one week with our EP for CRM and I really want to know if the performance is enough for 120 Users.

  • Cisco ips 4270 unequal cpu utilization

    I am having 2 cisco IPS 4270 devices with an IOS version 7.0(2)E4. When monitoring through IPS manager, I am able to see 4 CPU's.
    In CPU 1 the utilzation is showing near to 100 percent. CPU 2 is showing zero or very less utilsation. CPU 3 & CPU 4 are showing average utilization - nearly equal to 40 percent.
    I doubt why i am getting zero percent CPU utilization in CPU 2 and 100 percent utilisation in CPU 1?
    whether we can do a distribution of CPU among the four CPU's.?
    Hey cisco folks, please help.

    This was mentioned in a previous post, specifically the reply by Scott Fringer.  Post here:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3065777#3065777
    In Scott's post, he quoted the E3 engine release notes regarding CPU utilization (highlighting mine):
    The E3 signature engine update contains changes from CSCsu77935
    The resolution of this defect modified the idle time algorithm of the sensor by applying additional CPU to polling of the NICs to decrease the polling interval and reduce latency. This results in the CPU usage being reported higher than in previous releases, including using external tools such as top and ps.
    You can notice this additional CPU load on single-CPU platforms, as well as the primary CPU of multi-core systems. Since the additional CPU load that is reported while polling is actually available to process packets, and reduces as inspection load goes up, it does not negatively affect the overall throughput of the IPS.
    So, what you are seeing should be considered normal, and doesn't need correction.  That is, unless you are seeing packet loss.

  • Long running GC - High cpu% utilization

    I have a tomcat process running on linux which generates a lot of garbage.
    Throughout the day the machine will be at around 80% idle, and then suddenly jump to 20% idle cpu. It can stay at 20% idle for 1-4 hours, then goes back to 80% idle where it can stay for hours as well. The graph looks like a step-function.
    This does not correlate to the usage graph; the usage graph is smooth, typical of a B->C webapp.
    In conjunction with the 20% idle, i also see about 20% spent in "system" cpu, as well as an increase in "user" cpu consumption. When at 80% idle, system% is around 1%-2%.
    I log GC stats, and when the cpu is at 80% idle, i see:
    75324.001: [GC 75324.001: [ParNew: 65408K->0K(65472K), 0.0102260 secs] 472166K->407009K(1535936K), 0.0104630 secs]
    75327.998: [GC 75327.998: [ParNew: 65408K->0K(65472K), 0.0118190 secs] 472417K->407212K(1535936K), 0.0120560 secs]
    75333.342: [GC 75333.343: [ParNew: 65408K->0K(65472K), 0.0105900 secs] 472620K->407480K(1535936K), 0.0108260 secs]
    About 10 msecs spent in GC every 4 secs, but when it gets to 20% idle i see:
    30336.581: [GC 30336.581: [ParNew: 65408K->0K(65472K), 0.5277730 secs] 244204K->203369K(1535936K), 0.5280800 secs]
    30338.403: [GC 30338.403: [ParNew: 65408K->0K(65472K), 0.4632960 secs] 268777K->224890K(1535936K), 0.4635790 secs]
    30340.256: [GC 30340.256: [ParNew: 65408K->0K(65472K), 0.5050930 secs] 290298K->248727K(1535936K), 0.5053670 secs]
    So now it's taking 500 msecs every 2 secs or so.
    I'm using 1.5 with the following options:
    -Xms1500m -Xmx1500m -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:NewSize=64m
    So a 1.5G heap, with a 64M young generation. My inclination is to bump up the size of the young generation, but when i see these long 500 msecs young gen collection times, i get worried.
    Can anybody explain the strange step-function behavior of the process over time that would be strictly related to GC?
    Note that i see exactly the same pattern using the jrockit jvm (although the absolute numbers are different). I see the same step-function graph for cpu utilization vs a smooth graph for usage.
    Thanks.

    The fact that you see the same behavior with two completely different VM's makes me think it's not the VM's. -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC will cause slightly ParNew collections to take slightly longer, when it is running, but not anything like 50 times slower.
    Trying using jconsole to see what going on during the idle periods and the busy periods. That is, get thread stack traces. If you are running JDK-1.6.0, you can just start up jconsole and attach to the running VM. If you are running JDK-1.5.0, I think you need to start the VM with an additional option to allow jconsole to attach to it.

  • SCM optimizer CPU utilization mostly 0%

    Hello All,
    My SAP and DB are running on the same host. And its an SCM 5.0 system.
    I observed that the idle time is always 100% for the optimizer.
    Can anyone please elaborate the role of this optmizer and why the idle time is always 100.
    for my SCM system, the CPU utlization keeps varying which is normal, but i dont get the role of optmizer.
    Please let me know.

    Thanks a lot again for the reply.
    I have checked  in /sapapo/opt11 and I am able to see only SNP related logs however the status are in yellow and when I click the log buttun it throws a pop with a message that "no log exist".
    And in SM59, under TCP/IP i can see 4 rfc connections (OPTSERVER_SNP01, OPTSERVER_SNP02, OPTSERVER_DPS01, OPTSERVER_DPS02) and for all these connection test is working successfully.
    So from this can I canclude that the planning method are not being used and for that reason CPU Utilization is 0%?

    admin:
    Are there any specific tests, or logs prior to isolate this issue?

    Hi,
    A few points:
    > Use one of the recommended OVA templates
    > Check if the spike is random or occurs at a specific time. If it occurs at a specific time it could be coinciding with something like DRS backup, CDR load, busy hours etc.
    > Minimum set of logs needed for one such high CPU spike instance are:
    Detailed ccm traces from all nodes
    RisDC Perfmon logs
    Proglogs
    Also, capture the output of the following:
    utils diagnose test
    utils core active list
    show process load
    HTH
    Manish
