In our environment does not have oraInventory setup at all on someservers and its corrupt on others.Also on systems that have multiple oracle_homes we have to see which home the oraInv.loc file is pointing to since Opatch uses that oraInventory to decide what to do.
I can restore the older ORACLE_HOME in case the patch application runs into issues ... by keeping an on-line copy somewhere on the same server for a quick restore without involving tapes

how i can see which oracle_home the oraInv.loc is pointing to?
How i can backup/restore the older ORACLE_HOME ?
How i can know the CPUs is has to use OPatch utility?

I have been updating my PSE since 10. Recently I purchased PSE13 as I didn't see an update for my 12. I was changing to a new laptop as my old laptop had been patched and worked and was showing signs of giving out. It was a Window's 7OS. My new one is a Windows 8 OS so I bought the 13 and downloaded it on the new laptop. Our desktop had died so I downloaded the 13 on the new desk computer also. Not thinking I downloaded 13 on my old laptop as I hope to get it patched up enough to be a backup for my photography. When I tried to activate it I realized that I had downloaded it too often. I didn't know you could only use it on two computers. Learn something new every day.. Any way I removed it and now my PSE 12 does not seem to be working. Now it could be something that I did or something that is an issue with the laptop. this laptop has all the previous editions on board as I always tried to update, except for the year I got a really good deal on Black Friday. I also notice that the new laptop has a copy of PSE 12 in the program list. To my knowledge I have never deactivated any of my PSE's except the extra 13 downloaded. Bottom line, do I need to go in and deactivate previous PSE versions and removed them from my computer? I could certainly use the space and secondly, can I deactivate the PSE 12 and then go back and reacitivate it and install it again on the old laptop or the desktop, whichever I deside would be the most appropriate place for the newer program. For the PSE 12 since it is an updater for 11, does the 11 still need to be on the laptop? thanks for anyone who can understand what I am trying to say and can advise me as to my next move. Thank you very much.

I am applying the 12.1.3 upgrade patch to our 12.1.2 instance and one worker fails with the following....
I've run this upgrade for testing purposes 4 time prior to this and never encountered this error.

Why do some patches not work with looping?

In playing around with the Looper, I've stumbled across a couple of patches that don't work with it: Clean Stereo Chorus and Dream Sequence. No signal seems to make it to the Looper. Any idea why this would be? I'm just scratching the surface of MainStage and don't really understand all the routing and such. Could there be something in these patches that routes them around the Looper somehow?

My question got me thinking about the routing, so I looked at the difference between patches that work and patches that don't. Sure enough, patches that do work have Loopback in one of the Send slots. So I added that to one of the patches that wasn't working. But when I click on the little circle beside the send (which I assume has something to do with the level), it shows "-∞". A patch that works, on the other hand, displays "+0.0". I can't figure out how to adjust that, though, and I don't know why some patches aren't set up for Loopback.

Why, oh why do Soundblaster patches never work

I've had this problem with other soundblaster cards many times before with many different platforms, but I go to play Doom 3 today, which I haven't done for a while. The last time that I played it, I had a different video card and speaker set. Now, I have an Audigy 2 and Soundblaster 7. speakers (so, you guys can't pass the buck on this one [something technical types love to do]), and Doom 3 will only work with Stereo sound, which sucks. So, I look the problem up and they want me to download the unsupported beta patch to make my 7. actually work. I download it, and viola, surprise surprise, it says that it can't even detect the Soundblaster 2 on my computer. Every other program or application on my computer doesn't have a problem detecting it. I'm thinking that the shop that writes your patches needs to be sacked en mass. Anyway, does anyone know a magical trick to make the patches actually be able to detect my cardlol And again I ask, "I paid a lot for this, why doesn't it work properly." Thanks in advance for any help.

First of all, do you have an OEM card? If so, I'm not sure if the Beta patch will work. Secondly, the Beta patch is only valid for the original Audigy 2 and the Audigy 2 ZS, NOT the Audigy 2 Value. Thirdly, before the .3 patch, Doom 3 only supported 2/2. or 5/5.. It will only allow you to pick "Surround" (5.) if you Windows speaker settings are set to 5. (although your Creative speaker settings can still be different). Lastly, if you use the .3 patch (along with the Beta drivers), assuming you have an Audigy 2 or Audigy 2 ZS, you should be able to use 7. speakers if you turn on EAX.

How Do I Get This Patch To Work?

I'm struggling to get my iDVD 5 to be able to work on DVD projects over the 4.75 GB (2 hour) limit. I'm using an eMac G4 w/a LaCie external dual layer DVD burner on OS X 10.3.9. All the research I've done so far has led to this French patch at:

I followed their instructions but it doesn't seem to be working. Any additional tips? 'Bout ready to tear the hair out of my head!! My burner works fine with toast and othe apps such as iTunes, so I don't believe thats the problem. Is it that I need Tiger? Has anyone overcome this problem? With Panther? Help!!

You need Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4.x) in order get it works with your external DVD burner, because the French patch requires you to remove the LaCie burner Profile, but on Panther (10.3.x), you need this profile to work with external DVD burner. So, it conflicts with each other. On Tiger, this profile is not required.

Robohelp 9 with patch - Not working with IE10

We have a problem with webhelp generated from RoboHelp 9 when viewing with Internet Explorer 10. We can't open a topic on the left or open a search result, until we either :
A) Resize the window
B) Resize the splitter between contents and the content pane on the right
C) Open the dev tools via F12
We have installed the patch provided by adobe for existing webhelp generated by RH9 at the following address :

I have also tried to install RH10 and generate the project again, but the same issue occurs.
I don't know what else to look for, the problems are what the patch was released for, but it is not working in our case.

We are reproducing with Windows 8 Pro 64bit, with Internet Explorer 10 (Update version 10.0.3).
I see on your website the snippet "Topics not opening in IE10.". On our web server, we add the IE8 compatibility tag for our web application to work correctly. I have created a new site without this tag and the fix is working.

[SOLVED] dwm pertag patch no working properly

Hello everybody! I recently had to redo my system.
Before this change I was using the DWM 6.0 with patches NMaster and pertag.

But now, after having reinstalled the base system, I realized that the same code that I used before is no longer behaving as it should.
He is working as if there is no patch applied in dwm.c
I wonder what would be the possible reasons.

AE CC 12.00 not compatible with Yosemite? Is there a patch that works? Can anyone clarify?

Having trouble getting my version of AE CC (12.00) to work now I have upgraded to Yosemite. I've read that this version isn't compatible and after speaking with Apple they say it's adobes responsibility to release a patch. I've found a few but nothing works for me. Anyone having the same problem? Any fixes?

Since you specifically said you were running 12.0, naturally we are going to suggest updating.
If you're running 12.0, you're not running the latest updates at all.
12.2.1 is the latest version of 12
13.1.1 is the actual latest version of AE.

Where? Adobe says that 11, 12, and 13 are all compatible so long as you're on the latest update.

Tell us about the product, type of OAS, version and what patch are you trying to apply.
Frankly, digging from the logs of your output some of this information and you would get fewer responses than what you would get if you introduce your system.

BPC 5.1 SP7 patch 3 - Work Status not updateable

Hi All,
We have just upgraded to SP7 and applied patch 3, and suddenly we cannot "roll-back" Work Status from eSubmit / Modify Work Status.
Previously I (as Administrator) could change a status from Approved back to Submitted or Unlocked. Now, once something is Submitted it is greyed out (not able to be changed). (Both the "Include children in data region" and the Work Status dropdown are unavailable")
I've searched SAPNotes and on the forums, but cannot find anything related.
Any ideas?

Compat-wireless -1 channel patch not working !

Hello there,
I've recently bought a usb wireless adapter (ALFA AWUS036NEH) in order to use the aircrack-ng suite.
Unfortunately, the kernel drivers have the channel -1 bug, so I install AUR package compat-wireless-3.2.5-1, which is supposed to be patched for this bug.
I modified the PKGBUILD to only install rt2x00 group driver.
Once the install is done, i reboot or do
modprobe rt2800usb
and the card is working fine for conventionnal use.
But when I use it for airodump, i've still the fixed channel : -1 bug...
My pci card (Broadcom) has the same bug... (even after applied the patch ofc)
Can anybody help me? (for example tell me how to manually install it?)

Have you tried downgrading your kernel a couple of versions... maybe to the 3.2.5 version? And of course, re-building and re-installing the package.

Baselined patches not working with Windows 7x64

I have baselined some patches for a few Windows 7 64bit machines we are
using now. If I look at the 'Bundle Deployment Status Details' for the
machine in ZCC it shows Distribution and Installation Success. Looking on
the machine the patches are not installed. In event viewer I do find the
following errors at the time of the supposed install success but nothing
else. Running 10.2.2 on the client and 10.2.2 on the Windows 2003 server.
I can install the patches fine via Windows Update or manually. Does
patching work properly with Windows 7 64bit? Didn't see anything in the
docs or in the knowledgebase.

French Patch not working?

I replaced my single layer DVD burner with a Pioneer interanl 109. Using iDVD 5, and the French patch, I did have this working sometime in the past under a previous system build. Now, using th latest build of Tiger, the tab in iDVD for disk size does not show up in Projects anymore. I reinstalled the French patch, EXACTLY like they said, and I even threw out the VendorSupport.drprofile in the system, like they suggested. Still, I do not get any additonal option in iDVD's Projects. Not 8 gig nor 4 gig. There is no pull-down menu present.

I would like to know if this patch work if I have the virus in my computer? I'm not a computer savy and I just discover that I have shared my computer with who knows who is so sad.. but I need to fix this ASAP!!! Please somebody who can help me!

I'm not sure what "virus" you're referring to. Your tags indicate DNSChanger, but that did not involve Java and has been dead since November of last year. Further, the malicious servers used by DNSChanger were shut down in July, so you would have had serious internet problems starting at that time if you were infected with DNSChanger.
If you are referring to Flashback, that particular update does not remove the malware, but if you simply run Software Update and let it install whatever is available, you will be fine and the malware will be removed, if present. See About the Flashback malware.
