CQ, CQ.i18n is not Defined | Publish Instance | CQ 5.4

Hi,
We are using OOTB CQ.i18n.getMessage for localized JQuery Messages. everything is working as expected on Auhor instances but on Publish , it is throwing CQ is not Defined, CQ.i18n is not defined JAVA SCRIPT Errors.
Code e.g.
email: CQ.I18n.getMessage("APP201")
Do we need to enable any extra JS call or include any JS file into the clientlibs? Any pointers to this would be apreciated.
Thanks
Vinay

In author, you are running "inside of the CQ environment", and then the client libraries that defines and communicates with the CQ instance in initiated. On publish, you are running the scripts on the client machine. That environment has no idea about CQ.i18n, since that call does not generate a REST call to the server. It is different execution envrionments.
Solution: Have a block in the server side generated code that fills a js object with the correct translations or create a REST/JSON representation of the i18n-nodes.
Taking Alex and Vinzenz perfect answer from the Google Group (https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/day-communique/EZxBdGUwcQU).
For CQ5.5
For publish, you need to explicitly include the "cq.shared" clientlib. On author this is automatically part of the authoring UI javascript.
The clientlibs are noted as part of the js docs: http://dev.day.com/content/docs/en/cq/current/widgets-api/index.html?class=CQ.I18n (see basic info at the top, right below the class name).
Disclaimer for CQ5.4
In CQ 5.4 the i18n utility class was not yet part of the clientlib "cq.shared" but of "cq.widgets". You would have to load latter but this is not recommended on a publish instance since it is rather big
(containing all the widgets required for page authoring and admin consoles). You probably would have to extract the i18n part and for example add it to "cq.shared" manually.

  • Pages not displaying properly in Publisher instances as we activated the page from Author

    HI All,
Pages not displaying properly in Publisher instances as we activated the page from Author. In author it is working well but in Pulisher it is showing first 2 lines of the page and then showing error as
Apache sling/2.2 Hot Spot ****** Sun OS error
Please help me on this.IS this issue with the templates or components are we using?

Ok, then let's go the long way and try to reduce the number of possible root causes:
    1) Is your problem reproducible on this publish? (I suppose it is)
    2) Is it reproducible on other publishs as well, which have received the same page with the same application?
    3) Can you reproduce it on other replicated pages as well?
    4) When you upload a page to such an affected publish via a content package, does this page render correctly?
    5) Does this problem appear on other environments as well?
    6) Do you use dispatcher when you get this result? Or do you get it when you request the page directly of CQ5?
    7) What's the HTTP statuscode when you render this page? You can see it in the request.log of CQ5.
If you change logging via Felix Console, you don't need to restart the instance.
    kind regards,

  • Publish Settings Error "Air FLAir1_5 is not defined"

    Hi all,
I have been trying to test a simple Air app out using my Windows version of Flash CS4 10.0.2 and Air 1.5.3
Each time I tried to check the Air publish settings I received the following error:
    The following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
At line 1 of the file "Apollo_OpenSettingDialog.jsfl":
ReferenceError : FLAir1_5 is not defined
My Flash updates are all up to date and applied automatically so what is the problem here?
I checked my installed Air 1.5 files as per the Support Technote "Upgrading the Flash authoring tool with the Flash Player, AIR and security releases" at < http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/659/b62ce659.html#air_1_5_for_cs4 >. As far as I could tell all the files listed are in the correct place - or are they...
The update page says that file < FLAir1_5.dll > should be in the following Windows folder:
    (Windows) HD:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS4\<lang>\Configuration\External Libraries\FLAir1_5.dll
All the other files have been placed automatically in the "Common\Configuration" folder so why is this one different? I copied file FLAir1_5.dll and placed it in the following windows folder: < C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS4\Common\Configuration\External Libraries\ > . Then I closed Flash and reopened it. Yeap - I can now access the Air Settings on the publish settings panel and I can test my simple Air app.
I hope that this post will help others who get this error.
    Regards

    Hi,
You can find the missing DLL here :
    http://flash.mediabox.fr/index.php?s=&showtopic=93882&view=findpost&p=596885
Copy it in your Flash folder : C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe

    Cheers.

  • Reverser Replication not working for 2 Publish Instance

We have setup environment for 1 author and 2 Publish servers.  Configured replication agent and reverse replication agent for both Publish Instances. For custom created comments (Java code from external Portal to create comment node) then reverse replication does not replicate comment on Author Instance. But when I post comment for campaign through CQ publish environment then it works properly. It gets replicated on Author Instance. So can anyone let me know what could be missing part for comments generated through custom java script.
    Yogesh

    Hi Sham,
In one of environment we are using publish and author server. Custom comments are replicating on Author environment.  We are not using custom workflow or JCR observation.Created one more environment for Production setup where 2 publish and 1 author instance. For this comment are not auto replicated on Author instance.
Default comment modification and comment activation launcher are in place, no change in this. Does it not working due to additional Publish Instance and if so what additional setting will required to address it ?
    Thanks

  • [AIR 3.0] New JSON functionality doesn't work in FlashPro: Error #1065: Variable JSON is not defined

After upgrading the AIR SDK to 3.0 in Flash Professional CS5.5 I've found some problems.
First, the JSON class in the as3corelib.swc library now throws a couple of compile errors:
1061: Call to a possibly undefined method decode through a reference with static type Class.
1172: Definition com.adobe.serialization.json:JSON could not be found.
At first I was completely puzzled, since I had the proper "import com.adobe.serialization.json.JSON;" reference,
and I had the "as3corelib.swc" referenced in my ActionScript Properties, so how could that not be found?
Then, I found out that's because it conflicts with the new internal JSON class included with AIR 3.0
(maybe it should have been called something else, to avoid conflicts with Adobe's own as3corelib library).
The new native JSON class doesn't have the decode() method. Now it's called parse()
Ok, so I've tried using the new JSON class, but after changing decode() with parse() and removing
the "import com.adobe.serialization.json.JSON;" reference, Flash tells me that "Variable JSON is not defined".
Really? The JSON class is showing in the Flash Builder code completion popup,
complete with its all-new parse() and stringify() methods! So why does it say it's not defined?
Also, my SWF file gets compiled with no errors at all, so that verifies that the new 3.0 libraries are in place.
I only get the "JSON is not defined" error at runtime in ADL, not at compile time. Why?
In order to upgrade to the AIR 3.0 SDK, I've followed this guide:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/908/cpsid_90810.html
I know that's about upgrading to AIR 2.7, but I suppose the steps to upgrade to AIR 3.0 would be very similar,
only with the AIR3.0 SDK package, instead of 2.7.
I also took care to type version="13" in all the XMLs, instead of version="12" as stated in that guide, which is meant for 2.7.
Also, I followed this advice about adding -swf-version=13 in the Project Properties window in Flash Builder:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/cantrell/archives/2011/08/how-to-use-the-air-3-beta-sdk.html
But that doesn't seem to make a difference, since, even though I use Flash Builder for code editing (which is usually used for Flex),
my project is a Flash Professional project, not a Flex one, and when testing the project, Flash Builder runs Flash Professional
to compile and then runs adl.exe (it's the same as if you click the option "Control / Test movie / in AIR Debug Launcher (Mobile)" inside Flash Pro).
In the "ActionScript Settings" window in Flash Professional, I also have the proper airglobal.swc referenced (from the AIR 3.0 SDK),
and the same airglobal.swc is referenced in Flash Builder as well (in "Referenced Libraries"), to get proper code completion.
I've tried all sorts of things to try to get it to work, but no luck. Still get the "JSON is not defined" error at runtime.
I'm starting to get desperate about this. I'm going to have to revert back to AIR 2.7.1, to stop wasting time on this issue.
BTW, I'm also having another unrelated problem (though maybe it happens because of the same reason as the other problem).
Now Flash Builder underlines the getTime() method in my code, as if it no longer were a method of a Date class instance.
I have a line where I ask for the timestamp like this:
    ts = new Date().getTime();
That has worked perfectly fine up until now with AIR 3.0.
Now, when hovering the mouse cursor over the orange "(?)" icon that appears at the left, Flash Builder tells me
"Access of undefined property getTime". Why?
The AS3 documentation doesn't say anything about getTime() getting deprecated of anything of the sort:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/Date.html
In fact, in the code completion popup that Flash Builder shows, now there isn't any mention
of get or set methods, as you can see here:
I suppose I can use the .time property instead of .getTime() but I don't know why I'm not getting all the methods I had available before.
Any ideas why all this is happenning? Specially the dreaded "JSON is not defined" error.

Well, after much tinkering, I think I've finally found a way to finally make it work!.
I've created some modified XML files with the profiles needed for AIR 3.0 and after a lot of tries, it finally works!
    I've uploaded them here: http://www.mediafire.com/?d5e761frl5px4
These are the steps needed to get AIR 3.0 running properly:
Put all three files into the folder "c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\Common\Configuration\Players"
Then, make sure you've unzipped the AIR 3.0 SDK into the folder "c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\AIR3.0" Do not overwrite the contents of the "AIR2.6" folder, as suggested by the "Overlay AIR SDK" article (linked in the above post). It gave me problems. It's best to use a different separate folder. My XML files point to that new "AIR3.0" folder.
Inside the folder "c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\Common\Configuration\ActionScript 3.0" create a new folder named "AIR3.0". Inside that folder, copy the file "airglobal.swc" located at "c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\AIR3.0\frameworks\libs\air".
Finally, you will have to keep the file "descriptor-sample.xml" in the "c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\AIR2.6\samples" folder, but change the xmlns attribute to "http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/3.0"
Yes, you have to change that inside the AIR2.6 folder even if the SDK has been put into AIR3.0. That's because of how the publish settings work in Adobe Flash. It's hardcoded into a DLL, so that can't be changed. Not very intuitive.
I think AIR SDK installations should be a lot more straightforward than this! I know Adobe AIR is meant for developers, not for final users, but still, all these not very well documented upgrade procedures are a pain in the ***. I've wasted A LOT of hours in this (more than half a day), with what should have been a straightforward upgrade!
Adobe should make a SDK installer so we do not have to be tinkering with all these error-prone procedures each time a new update is released!
Well, I hope those XML files are useful to somebody and avoids further frustration.
    Regards,
    OMA2k
PD: BTW, I still have the .getTime() issue described in my above post, but it's not very important,
since I can still use the .time property. Still, it puzzles me why this is happening.

  • Why would I get ReferenceError #1065: "Variable title is not defined."

Well of course it's not defined.  It's a dynamic class, and strict mode compilation is turned off so that I don't have to declare the property to compile it.
I've created a library item named "Page" with a single TextField instance named "title".
Page's class is defined in an ActionScript file, and it's assigned to the library item in export for ActionScript.
Page's ActionScript file defines the class as a "dynamic" class, so I should not be getting this runtime error.  I turned off strict mode compiling, since it seems to be designed to check the presense of property definitions at compile time for dynamic classes like MovieClip.
public dynamic class Page extends MovieClip
        public function Page()
            super();
var text:String = title.text; //title can be moused over in the debugger here and shows the correct value, but the flash player throws a runtime error when it tries to access it, but it shouldn't because this is a dynamic class.
So why am I getting a runtime error for the field "title".  It makes no sense, because if I step to that line in the FlashDevelop debugger and hold the mouse over "title", it shows that it is in fact the instance of the TextField that I'm trying to access.  Yet the player throws an error when I actually try to access it.
Is it a problem or limitation with the access style (i.e. would it work fine if I accessed it as "this.title" or "this["title"]"?

Nevermind.  This was apparently a browser caching issue.   The Page base class is defined in the main interface swf, and is externally referenced through its swc in an external "lesson" file that declare a subclass of Page.  It was this custom subclass of Page which was throwing the error (basically the same as the simplified example I wrote for my post, where it simply tried to access "title" as a dynamic property of the Page).  What happened is the browser was caching an old version of the lesson file with the old definition of the class that was not declared as dynamic.  I had received the error before, then updated the class, then I was surprised to see the error persist.  It suddenly dawned on me that the browser was probably caching the old version, so I cleared the cache and it seems to work fine now.
Actually, it is a problem after all.  I forgot I had updated it to use "this.title" syntax on the page I tested after clearing the cache, but the other pages that try to access title directly as "title" still throw the error.  So it seems to be some sort of quirk in how flash accesses properties of a dynamic class.  If you try to access them direclty, it must do so in a way that requires the property to be defined, but if you access it via "this.title" or this["title"], the it seems to resolve the property value without throwing the error.
This sucks.  I was really trying to not have to write "this." for every property.  The entire display list is dynamically generated from some custom XML that allows me to call constructors and set complex type-safe properties, and during construction it was copying each item into a Dictionary by name.  This Dictionary was then assigned to the page class as "items", so I was accessing each display object as "item.name".  Then I got the brilliant idea of just making Page and its subclasses "dynamic" so that I could just add the DIctionary values on the Page instance itself.  I thought I would be able to access the dyamic properties just by their name such as "title", but lo and behold, Flash strikes again, and I have to use dot notation anyway.  What do you all think?  Any solutions?

  • How can I create a user with rights to install packages on a publish instance?

    Hi,
I am trying to create a user with the rights to upload and install content packages on a CQ publish instance and I do not wish to use the admin user.  Simply adding a new user to the administrators group does not seem to be enough.
I tried adding a rep:GrantACE node through crx de/explorer but it reported the node as locked.  I was able to upload a content package that removed the rep:DenyACE jcr:read for everyone, but this is not safe it seems.
Is there some special privilege that I need to add to my user/group that will allow them to access the /etc/packages tree or do I just need to add some permission somewhere within the tree.
    Regards,
    Chris

With some help from David Collie, Alex Klimetschek & Jörg Hoh I have a better idea of what is going on and we've found a solution.
It seems that the admin account always works in these scenarios as it has special privileges in the CRX security system; admin can do anything it likes.
Instead of creating the rep:GrantACE nodes directly, I was able to add a new ACL entry for the administrators group to /etc/packages via the Access Control Editor (http://localhost:4502/crx/explorer/ui/aceditor.jsp?ck=1373027669916&Name=acEditor&Path=%2F etc%2Fpackages&_charset_=utf-8).
Strangely, the administrators account already had some inherited rights on this directory that were overridden by the deny|everyone|jcr:read ACL entry on /etc/packages node.  Adding allow:administrators|jcr:read gives any member of that group access to read and write to the /etc/packages. directory.
Now that I have setup this user we can setup a deploy step in out CI build that does not rely on using the admin account.
    Thanks
    Chris

  • [CS4] ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable {ClassName}  is not defined

A few days ago I decided to give Matrix3D a try, so I changed my publish setting to target flash player 10, and just to be safe, I hit the test movie magic combo (ctrl-enter) and got the dreaded Error #1065 all over the screen, so, ok, I thought I'll pass on Matrix3D for now, flipped the publish setting back to flash player 9 and I was a happy camper again.
Just now, publishing for flash player 9 fails with the same result. This happens _right after_ a successful build, I moved a few movie clips around on the stage, re-test, and got myself an Error #1065 wall of text in the output window.
Funny fact: this only happens with "test movie" (ctrl-enter). If I "debug" (ctrl-shift-enter) the movie, it compiles and runs just fine with no problem whatsoever.
All the class has been tested to work just before the incident.
Has anyone got this problem before?

    Just an update here:
I copied the entire library of my fla and put it in a fresh
fla file. My original fla has nothing on the main timeline so I
figured I'd just rebuild the thing.
So, upon compiling the first time in it's new fresh file, I
    get this compiler error:
, Line 1: 5005: Unknown error optimizing byte code.
Good. No longer do my symbols cause Reference Errors, I
thought to myself. After pursuing this error on the forums, I
gathered I just need to restart the flash ide. I did so, and went
    to rebuild the fresh fla...
One single line in the output window:
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable ComponentShim is not
    defined.
After wiping the tears from my eyes, I've come to post here
again in hopes someone can help me.
Here is my directory structure and names of files:
    /public_html/
    /webdev/
    /game/
    /MarbleMaze2/
    /Game.as
    /marblemaze.fla
    /Maze.as
    /MazeConstants.as
    /Boards.as
marblemaze.fla has no document class specified in the
Document Class field, just a few lines of actionscript that creates
a new Game() on frame 1.

  • Very Strange:  ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable txtToonName is not defined.

I have a flash label on a movie clip with its instance name called 'txtToomName'.  This object has existed, been successfully instantiated and used for over a year without any modifications.  All of a sudden, during the getClassByName() call, I start getting an errors.
    The actual error is:
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable txtToonName is not defined.
    at mcToonInformation_Design/__setTab_txtToonName_mcToonInformation_Design_Layer1_0()
There are other objects on the movieclip, defined as buttons, that were derived from an object in the library that didn't have its linkage set.  This had worked fine up til now where I could define a common object without linkage, create copies of that object on a movie clip and assign an instance name to allow access.
Once I changed my buttons to be an instance of an object in the library with linkage properties assigned they didn't give me an error.  The problem now is that it doesn't seem to like the Label object which is by default an instance of an object in the library that does have linkage properties set and yet still doesn't like it.
Anyone have any idea what the heck is going on?  There hasn't been any library changes made or CS5 updates applied since 8/16/2010, the date on flash.exe.
    I am using CS5 ver.11.0.2.489
Any advise/direction/assistance would be greatly appreciated as this is a show stopper and adds hours upon hours of adjustments to an application that has been running fine for a long time.

  • Captivate 5 and preloader: Error #1065: Variable CPPreloader is not defined.

    Hi,
If I add a preloader swf (any of those which ship with Captivate 5 - in \Gallery\Preloaders\AS3) - then when I publish the movie - the flash player throws an error:
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable CPPreloader is not defined.
Then (mostly) crashes the plugin (firefox) else carries on with the captivate movie.
If I remove the preloader - all is fine again. I've tried every preloader swf, pretty much every option I can think of in publish settings.
Windows 7 64, I've got Flash 10.2.153.1 (debug). It looks to me like an error in the code written by Captivate, but if that were the case, I'm sure I would find some mention of the problem or the var CPPreloader elsewhere!
Anyone else seen this? Know how to make it go away??
    Cheers

Are you adding preloaders from these locations?:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5\en_GB\Gallery\Preloaders in 32bit systems
    or
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5\en_GB\Gallery\Preloaders  in 64bit systems
You mention you're using the debug versiion of Flash Player.  Have you tested the published output on a system that IS NOT using the debug Flash player, just a normal Flash Player version?

    All,
I am working on aniMAC running 10.7.2 with Flash CS6
I built a Flash file that has been running excellent, until now. Now I am getting the following error that I can not figure out and no one seems to have the answer. Can some one (maybe even Adobe) please reply with a reason and a solution as to why it is happening and what I can do to fix it?
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable TCMText is not defined.
Some people thought it might be a simple changing of text properties (from TLX text to Classic text) but this does not fix the issue. I have also changed my memory settings, but this does not work either.

  • Help! text is not defined error :(

    Hi,
I'm a student working on a flash actionscript project for school, and I need to learn how to make objects drag and drop. I have no problem getting the shapes to move and all but I cannot figure out how to make the text change when the shape is dropped off of the target and when it is on the target. The tutorial i'm using gave me the code but i keep coming up with this:

ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable reply_txt is not defined.

Right now this is what the code looks like:
    square_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, pickUp);
    square_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, dropIt);
    function pickUp(event:MouseEvent):void {
    event.target.startDrag(true);

Thank you! I swear i thought i put reply_txt as the instance name but i must
not have saved it or something! haha Thank you so much!

  • Var JSON is not defined in flash professional cs6

    Hi everyone! i'm a newbie.
i'm running flash cs6 and attempting to use JSON calls that are in flash player 11.2. When i test movie, everything is fine. When i publish to swf, i have error:
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable JSON is not defined.
              at loading::loading/doCMD().
please tell me how to fix it. thanks.

Json is now supported natively in the new version.
I used to use the adobe json serialization class: "import com.adobe.serialization.json.JSON" which when decoding used the function "JSON.decode()".
The native JSON class has changed the function to 'JSON.parse()". So try removing the old json class import and changing all the decode functions to parse.

The weird thing is that I'm working on an application that
doesn't use the microphone. I'm only using a simple SharedModel to
    share Arrays.
Any idea where this could come from?
    Axel

    Hi,
SoundCodec class is defined in Player 10. Are you using the
player 10 afcs swc ? If so, you need to change Require Flash Player
Version unser Project->Properties->Flex Compiler in Flex
Builder and put that to 10.0.0 and also make sure that your browser
has player 10 and you Flex SDK also supports player 10.
And if you are using afcs 9 swc , then put 9.0.124 or
something in the Require Flash Player Version and that should fix
    the problem
    Thanks

  • Shared library extended class Error #1065: Variable is not defined

Right, bit of a complicated set-up  here. I've got a class structure which includes the View class:
    com.website.buttons.MyButton
Then i've got a shared library swc called sharedassets.swc  that contains a MovieClip in the library that uses  'com.website.buttons.MyButton' as its 'Linkage Properties' base class,  extending with the following empty class:
    com.website.timeline.sharedassets.BackButton
Then i've got a second  swc that  imports the BackButton mc into its own library as a shared library asset, and uses an instance of  it on the stage in a MovieClip of it's own called LinearNavBar.  LinearNavBar's Linkage Properties are thus:
    Class: com.website.timeline.sequence.LinearNavBar
    Base class: com.website.navigation.LinearNavbar
Again, 'com.website.navigation.LinearNavbar' is an actual class in the code base, whilst 'com.website.timeline.sequence.LinearNavBar' does not exits (ie: its dynamically created by the swc at compile time). 'Automatically declare stage instances' is unchecked
Over in the class structure in my  Flash Builder project, I've got another class
    com.website.navigation.Sequence
Which instantiates a new version of  LinearNavBar and adds it to the stage:
    var navBar:Navbar = new LinearNavBar();
    addChild(navBar);
At which point the following error is  shown:
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable BackButton is not defined.
It seems Flash Builder cannot find 'com.website.timeline.sharedassets.BackButton', even though BOTH compiled swcs are included as part of the projects.
What gives, my friends? I am most heartily perplexed.

I have on the permit debugging option but it says nothing but these errors
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable Button is not defined.
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable ComponentShim is not defined.
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable LoaderProV3AS3 is not defined.
