CQ62-215DX hybernates upon closing notebook and does not come back on after opening screen again

My CQ62-125DX  Product WQ5856UA#ABA   shut down when book was closed in the on position.  The screen remains black athough Cap lock light s intermitent. I shut down to reboot, and system sounds and acts as if t was coing o, but screen never lights up.
This happened only after the laptop screen was closed and reopened.  after giving up I decided to press the power button three week later, and it came on, but thinking all was Ok after a couple of days, again I closed the laptop and screen will not come back on upon opening.  It seems to gointo hybernate mode, but will not wake up again.   If it happens to come on again I will go in and shut off the energy saving featues, so it does not go into hybernatiion,   but mean while......  What fix do you have for this issue.   I'm not doing anythingut of the ordinary, I look online, and see that many people experience these symptoms.   Have you looked into this and figured how to solve this glitch??      Thanks in advance for you help  ALbert

Same thing here!! I was calling my wife and it happened 3 times in a row in a matter of minutes. I rebooted the phone and it went away. Hasn't crept up on me again, yet (knock on wood).
I don't know whether it makes a difference and whether they are technically the same, but I upgraded the firmware that was released 07/10/2008 that is from Apple's Servers from version 5A345 to 5A347 just to see if this fixed any last minute glitches.
I hope this problem never surfaces again. We all paid a lot for these and spent a lot of time waiting for activation.

    Hello QuinnDev,
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  It sounds like you are trying to use your MacBook Pro with a Thunderbolt Display in closed clamshell mode (MacBook Pro closed), but sometimes the display doesn't stay on.  I found an article that talks about closed clamshell mode.  You would have to fulfill the following requirements to use your display this way:
    Requirements for closed display mode:
    Power adapter
    External keyboard, mouse, or trackpad
    External display
You can find all the steps and the full article here:

    I hope this helps!

The wish list only works on apps you have to pay for. To get it tap the icon of the app you want to save. After it opens at the upper right corner is a box with a arrow. Tap that then tap add to wish list list in the box that opens.

Apple TV uses iTunes. The reason you can't rent through your ATV is because you can't rent movies through iTunes Canada. Sadly, as this is a user-to-user forum, no one here would know when or if rentals will come to Canada.

  • My network goes off and does not come back unless I switch off and switch on

    I have a vodafone connection.
Whenever I go underground while traveling in train, my network goes off and but does not come back unless I switch off and switch on the phone... any suggestions???

I would advice to perform a hard reset (holding Power button + Home button for at least 10 seconds until Apple Logo appears)

  • Ideapad K1 shuts off and does not come back on unless hard reset by battery disconnect

For some reason, once in a while, my Ideapad K1 will shut off and will require the battery be manually disconnected and reconnected to come back on again.  The light will not show charging when plugged in as well when it shuts off.
I am on the lenovo latest factory update.
This is quite annoying as it is difficult to remove the rear panel and put it back on to disconnect the battery.
Is there any kind of fix/patch/update that resovles this issue?
Are there any work arounds that are less of a hassle?

Try to set it up as new device, this time without using the latest backup. If this does not work, contact Apple to get it checked.

  • Z87-G41 pc mate : monitor does not come back on after wakeup

Everytime the computer goes to sleep and  wakes up, the monitor does not come on. I can shut it off and turn it back on and the desktop will flash, then goes black again. Just started doing this last week. I updated all drivers and this did not help either. I am running Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit. I have had this MOBO since last March with no problems. Any ideas?

  • My mouse cursor disappears and does not come back when the mouse is moved.

Ocassionally my cursor disappears, usually when the display has gone to sleep.  The mouse is still working because I can "mouse over" places on the screen, they are highlighted, and click on items, but there is no cursor.  Fortunately, I can usually find the Apple menu and restart, but having to reboot is annoying. This did not happen before I upgraded to Lion (10.7.1).  I am usually connected to an external display when this happens.

I found this in the community.  Same problem Mouse pointer disappears on second monitor.

  • My iPhone 3GS keeps on shutting off randomly and does not come back on

    Hi
I have had this problem for months now. With this problem anything that I do it can randomly shut of and the only way to get the iPhone back on I'd to plug it into a power source. I have tried restoreing it and resetting it several times and it hasn't worked.
If anyone has a solution or is going through the same problem I would be very grateful for a response. :)
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I had a similar problem with iphone 3GS, my battery was not keeping its charge so I decided to replace the battery, not easy!!  The new battery seemed to be charging fine and it is fully charged but my phone either switches off as soon as you take it off charge or it only lasts a couple of minutes.  Could I have not connected something properly when I replaced the battery or is the battery faulty?

  • Sound does not come back on after switching to silent

I have an iPhone 5 and quite often i have to switch my phone to silent.
When I switch the phone back to normal, there is still no sound & I have to turn the phone off & back on again.
Is there any fix for this.
Also When I hit an area of bad signal (like the underground) my phone goes into NO SERVICE, as you would expect, but when I'm back above ground, my phone stays on NO SERVICE, resulting in turning the phone off & on again.
As a result of this I have to check my phone regularly to make sure that I have service.
Is this a problem with my phone, or are other people having this issue.
Apart from that I'm loving the 5....

I've had this problem with my iPhone 5c since April 2014 through several updates of iOS.  In December 2014 I got my wife an iPhone 5s.  She has the same problem.   We're both seeing this on the latest update of iOS  version 8.1.3.

    Hello PearldiamondMD,
I was thinking of a few recommendations for you. I recommend our iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/#section_1. Start at section 1, if that doesnt fix it, then section 3, and if all else does not work, section 5. At section 3 I recommend closing ALL the apps.
Here is section 1 to get you started.
    Restart iPhone
To restart iPhone, first turn iPhone off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPhone will turn off after a few moments.
Next, turn iPhone on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Is iPhone not responding? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If your device does not turn on or displays a red battery icon, try recharging next.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • My 4s Goes to speakerphone automatically while calling and does not go back to normal even after disabling speaker  while calling

My 4s Goes to speakerphone automatically while calling and does not go back to normal even after disabling speaker phone button
AlsO sometimes I. Cannot hear anything in normal speaker even though the call Is going through and has been re ieved on the other end, I have to enable speaker and then disable it to route audio to normal speakers

I think that it is something wrong with kernel and graphic drivers but i'm not able to solve it from the beginning of using of Arch by me.
I'm not so sure this issue is software-related only because in my case it seems the laptop screen enters power-saving mode (10-min timeout) on its own without any events logged (as shown by dmesg) so my next thought was OK, I'm going to get rid of this issue disabling the screen power-saving timeout in the BIOS and set it to never power down or something like that and from then on managing power mode manually; ie: when I want to power down I will just use systemctl suspend/hibernate which work fine ... problem is: there are no related options in my BIOS for such timeout.
The only timeouts I have are in /etc/systemd/logind.conf set to 30min (#IdleActionSec) (commented) by default so these are not in effect because the screens goes blank after 10m which is less than the (default) 30m in logind. Maybe setting loggind to 9m (un-commented) to catch the event before the machine-default one ?
    IdleActionSec=9min
    IdleAction=suspend
Will check it and report back.
