CR 2008 SP2 x64 Runtime - HELP!

Okay - so MSFT with Server 2008R2 no longer 32bit(x86) support...
So where is the CR 2008 SP2 Runtime for x64 !!
Is SAP a MSFT Partner? - how do they get product certification?  Guess they don't get CR tested do they!
Gary

The Next version of CR will be 64 bit, not sure of all of the details yet though.
You can always stay on supported platforms, and yes CR 2008 is Certifiable on platforms we do support.
Windows 2008 64 bit will still run 32 bit applications, you can use it as an APP server and use a 32bit WEB server OS.

[Updated line below]
Windows 2008 Release 2 ( which is 64 bit only ) has not been added to the supported platforms for this reason.
Thank you

  • Problem on KB2562485 security update on server 2008 SP2 X64

    Dears
    from some day ego I Scanned one of my servers Widows server 2008 SP2 X64 with Nessus vulnerability scanner.
    after scan Server have a Critical problem was about KB2562485 security update ( Vulnerabilities in DNS Server Could Allow Remote Code Execution (2562485)) . I have checked This update on installed update which I see this update already exist.
    Also I try to installing this update manually "Windows6.0-KB2562485-x64" that error come "The update does not apply to your system"
    Have you ever see this issue? while you see the update already installed but vulnerability software such as Nessus face you have a critical problem for this update?
    This is server problem or Nessus?
    Many thanks for you support

    I have checked This update on installed update which I see this update already exist.
    This is server problem or Nessus?
    Anytime I've ever seen disparities between the results of third-party scanners and WSUS, in every case, the third-party scanner was reporting false-positives -- usually as a result of using outdated scanning data.
    As pertains to KB2562485, which is a part of MS11-058... knowing the vintage of updates can be a very useful clue... what do you suppose the odds are that you've got a server that's gone unpatched for over two years? Furthermore, MS11-068
    was superseded by MS12-017 (KB2647170), which was released in March, 2012.

  • Jinitiator & IE8 On Windows 2008 R2 x64 Server - Please Help!

    Hello All -
    I am wrapping up configuration of a Citrix Xenapp server for a presentation to my manager. The ONLY thing that I cannot get working is jinitiator for our Oracle apps. It is running on IE8 on WIndows 2008 R2 x64.
    I have done a lot of research and replace jvm.dll from Java, but haven't been able to get that to work. My guess is that it's either because I'm downloading the incorrect version of Java (which I extract the .jvm file from) or that i'm running x64.
    Please give any suggestions to help. I've spent hours on this project and if I cannot figure this out and have to go back to a different version of OS, then it's all lost -
    Thanks!

    Great - Thanks.
    Will this need to be something that it installed/configured on my machine with IE8 installed or will changes need to be made to the actual Oracle server? We don't manage the server so hopefully it will be the client end.
    Thank YouAs long as you have the necessary version of JRE installed, you should be good. Necessary application changes/configuration must be made in order for it to use JRE.

  • How to overcome the Memory leakage issue in crystal report 2008 SP2 setup.

    I have developed the small windows based application tool with help of  Visual studio 2008 for identify the memory consumption of crystal report object. It helps to load the crystal report objects in the memory and then released the object from the memory. The tool simply does the u201CLoading and Unloadingu201D the objects in the memory.
    The tool will be started once u201CTest_MemoryConsumption.Exeu201D executed. The u201CTest_MemoryConsumption.Exeu201D consumes u201C9768 KBu201D memory before load the crystal report object in memory. It means, 9768 KB is normal memory consumption for run the tool.
    Crystal report object initiated by the tool and object help to load the report in memory once the tool initiated the crystal report object. Now u201CTest_MemoryConsumption.Exeu201D consumes u201C34980 KBu201D memory during the crystal report object creation and report load process. The actual memory consumption of crystal report object is 34980u20139768=u201C25212u201DKBu201D.
    The memory consumption u201C34980 KBu201D will be continued till the end of the process. The memory consumption will be reduced to u201C34652 KBu201D from u201C34980 KBu201D once report load process completed. It means, u201C328 KBu201D memory only released from the memory consumption. Tool enables the Release command for the crystal report object. But crystal report object does not respond to the command and will not release his memory consumption.
    The memory consumption u201C34652 KBu201D will be stayed in the memory once job ends.  If i again initiate the crystal report object then it crystal report object start to consume the memory from 34652 KB.
    Database objects and crystal report objects are properly used in the tool. The object release commands properly  communicated to crystal report setup. But the u201CCrystal report service pack 2u201D setup unable to respond the commands which has enabled from .Net Tool.  Crystal report objects are properly initiated and disposed in the tool. But the crystal report unable to release from the server.
    The memory consumption will be reduced once the server restarted or kill the application.
    Crystal report 2008 and crystal report 2008 SP2 setup available in the server.
    Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 SP2, Microsoft .Net Framework 3.0 SP2 and Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 are available in the server,
    Could you please suggesst how to avoid the memory consumption keep increasing and  how to release the memory consumption  once the crystal object disposed???

    Hi Don..
    My case is different one. I hope, the problem with Run time Installation setup file (Crystal report 2008 Serivce Pack2 installer) which we installed in the server.
    Let me explain with Live scenario which our client faced in crystal report 2008 Service pack2 Installer.
    Our client is using a application to help to print their reports. The application is developed with Windows service.
    Windows service keep on running in the server. Windows service executes the client 's crystal reports( Labels Report, Stock  report) which designed for clients need and the reports will be printed from printer.
    10 Same type report (Label Report) will be printed in 1 minute. Reports are not printing during non business hours. But the windows service keep on running.  Memory cosumption of application will be 160 MB in business hours.
    For Example, On Monday the application memory consumption starts with 160 MB. The Memory consumption will be reached 165 MB  in peak business hours. Then the memory will be ended in163 MB in the End of Monday. It means, The memory consumption will be in 163 MB during the non business hours. Reports will not be printed in non business hours.
    On Tuesday, the application memory consumption starts with 163 MB and it will be reached 168 MB during the peak hours. The Memory consumption will be ended in 165 MB in the end of Tuesday.  The same process contiues till friday. End of friday, the memory consumption of the application will be ended with 170 MB.
    Application Memory Consumption slowly increasing in the server. In 5 days, Memory consumption reached Threshold value (170 MB) of the server. Application gets hanged up once the memory consumption reached 170 MB. We got the error messages as "Attempted to read write protected memory " / "Not Enough memory for process".  If we restart server / If we restart the service then memory consumption of application get reduced to 160 MB.
    From the above scenario, We came know that the either the problem with Application object or the problem crystal report object. In the application, We have checked dispose methods of application objects completly. I am sure that  application objects are properly disposed in the application. I hope the problem not with application objects. The problem with Crystal report objects.
    Application properly communicates the dispose methods to crystal report objects. Crystal report objects are not released from
    the memory.
    Crystal report 2008 Serive Pack 2 setup installed in the server.
    As you said, If Crystal report runtime is not released from memory then memory consumption keep increase???  In service oriented architecture application, how to unload the crystal report runtime??
    Do you any fix for this kind of issue??
    Willl Crystal report 2008 service pack 3 help on this issue??

    Culture ID 3072 (0x0C00) is not a supported culture.
                            Parameter name: culture
    This appears to be the root problem. It seems that the regional settings on this machine is messed up. 0x0C00 is an unusual LCID, they do not normally not end in two zeroes.
    is there a custom culture installed on this machine?
    Review the regional settings and also check the System locale. If it looks spooky, set it to Arabic - U.A.E. if this is where you are located.

  • Connection to local .mdb using CR 10.5 x64 runtimes

    Hi,
    I am using the CR 10.5 x86 and x64 runtimes for an application built in VS 2008.  The application builds and runs correctly, and I am able to load and view a .rpt using an .mdb as the datasource.
    In the x86 version of the application:
    I use the CR 10.5 x86 runtimes, and the .rpt file was built using a DAO connection to an .mdb.  I apply the following code to dynamically change the datasource:
    public bool ChangeDatasource(string DatabasePath)     // E.g. DatabasePath = "C:\newdata.mdb"
                crConnectionInfo.ServerName = DatabasePath;
                crConnectionInfo.DatabaseName = DatabasePath;
                crConnectionInfo.UserID = "";
                crConnectionInfo.Password = "password";
                //Loop through all tables in the main report
                crDatabase = crReportDocument.Database;
                crTables = crDatabase.Tables;
                for (int i = 0; i < crTables.Count; i++)
                    crTable = crTables[ i ];
                    crTableLogOnInfo = crTable.LogOnInfo;
                    crTableLogOnInfo.TableName = crTable.Name;
                    crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo;
                    crTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogOnInfo);
                    bool bOn = crTable.TestConnectivity();
                    if (!bOn)
                        MessageBox.Show("Failed to connect to " + crTable.Name);
                crReportDocument.VerifyDatabase();
    The above works perfectly in x86.
    However, in the x64 version:
    Using the CR 10.5 x64 runtimes, the application builds and runs correctly, and displays a simple report just fine.
    However, when I use the code above, TestConnectivity() fails and I get the following error during VerifyDatabase():
    "Error in File ____.rpt: Invalid mapping type value."
    As I understand it, this is because the .rpt was built with a DAO connection, which does not support 64-bit.  Thus, I am trying to alter the .rpt to use another connection.  My results are as follows:
    32-bit DSN, using DAO / ODBC / ADO:  I can create the connection, but I still get the "Invalid mapping type value" error when running the code above in x64.
    64-bit DSN using ODBC: I get an IM014 "The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch" error in the Database Expert when trying to set up the connection.
    64-bit DSN using ADO: None of the provider options seem to work when setting up the connection in the Database Expert.  I get errors like "Data source name not found and no default driver specified".
    Note, before anyone asks:  Yes, I do have the 64-bit Access ODBC drivers installed, and working. I use them in another part of my x64 application, and they work correctly.
    Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Ludek,
    I think there must still be some confusion here.
    I am well-aware that I can design reports using the Access 2007 (32-bit ODBC) drivers.  In fact, I have already tried this, and it works fine with my 32-bit app using CR 10.5 32-bit.
    However, those reports do not connect when using my 64-bit app using CR10.5 64-bit.  This makes sense, because the Access 2007 drivers are 32-bit.
    The reason I have been trying to use Access 2010 is that, unlike 2007, it has 64-bit ODBC drivers.
    I'll try to make this more clear, once again:
    My 32-bit app, using CR 10.5 32-bit:
    - Report built with DAO: Works
    - Report built with Access 2007 32-bit ODBC: Works
    - Report built with Access 2010 32-bit ODBC: Works
    My 64-bit app, using CR 10.5 64-bit:
    - Report built with DAO: (no 64-bit DAO) "Invalid mapping type value" error when running app
    - Report built with Access 2007 32-bit ODBC: "Invalid mapping type value" error when running app
    - Report built with Access 2010 32-bit ODBC: "Invalid mapping type value" error  when running app
    - Report built with Access 2010 64-bit ODBC: "Architecture mismatch" error when trying to design the report
    You also said you would test CRVS2010 x64 with Access 2010 x64.  Do you have a result for that yet?
    P.S. Your first link results in an error.  Can you provide a corrected link?

  • Error While Creating Windows Server 2008 SP2 32-BIT Virtual Machine

    I am facing an error while creating a Virtual Machine on the Cloud. The Error is below:
    Error (610)
    Virtual Machine Manager was unable to find a value for the required Sysprep parameter ProductKey.
    Recommended Action
    Add the missing Sysprep parameter either to the answer file or to the operating system configuration, and then try the operation again.
    My Template does not have the Product Key defined.  The OS is Windows Server 2008 SP2 32-BIT.  Is defining Product Key absolutely necessary?  I have other Templates for other Operating Systems and they are working fine.  Only facing problem
    with this.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    In the SCVMM world a 'template' is composed of the following: a VHD with an OS that has been generalized (sysprep), virtual hardware profile (settings), and an OS profile.
    The OS profile is required to have a product key.  A MAC activation key at the minimum.  But the key is required.
    If you deploy a VM from a VHD, the same customization assumptions are not at play.  Which is why it succeeds.  (there is no template in this case, there is also no requirement that the OS in the VHD be sysprep'd).
    SCVMM has rules.  And lots of things don't make sense until you begin to understand them and play within them. (I am not saying that the SCVMM rules are a good thing, just saying they exist)

  • Crystal Report 2008 SP2 & InfoView: Custom XML Export doesnt work

    Hi,
    I have created a Crystal Report .rpt and want to use the custom xml export function to output a custom xml file. For that, I created a custom transformation file (xsl) and imported it into the .rpt . On the client machine, if I open the .rpt with Crystal Reports 2008 SP2, and select to export it using the custom xml output, all runs fine. (under SP1, only half the file was created...)
    If I upload the .rpt file to Infoview (server-side: BO Enterprise 3.1, SP2 as well) and schedule it, I can select xml, and then my custom xml as output format, but I am getting the error message u201EUngültige Exportoptionen" (="invalid export options"), in the instance history. No output file is created. I use file system as destination. Other output formats like .pdf and .rpt work fine and files are created.
    Ideas:
    -Are there any more settings needed on the server (e.g.CMC - Crystal Server Jobs, other Processes, ...) so I can schedule the report and successfully create the custom xml format file as output?
    -Do I need to upgrade to a specific SP or FP on server-side so everything runs smooth?
    Thanks for your help!

    I'm having the same problem, have you by any chance found a solution?

  • Windows server 2008 R2 x64 Authentication failure while try to access Windows server 2003 R2

    Hello,
    I try to access Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard from Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 standard using integrated windows authentication . And because my application tries to read SQL server i'm getting and error that user is not trusted. Then I tried to open a
    simple shared folder on  2003 and none of the users is able to do it. Both servers are part of common workgroup in the same IP range. Using domain is not an option. Migrating 2003 to 2008 is not an option either. The specific DB provider I have to use
    supports only windows authentication, so creating user into SQL server is not an option too. I have tested many applications and cases which requires/uses windows authentication and non of the manage to connect.
    Any help is very welcome because things are urgent!

    That method in workgroup mode may be a problem.

  • HP Laserjet 1022n Network installation WS 2008 R2 X64

    i'm setting up a new printserveron WS 2008 R2 x64 OS.
    I have a HP LaserJet connected to the network that i'm struggling with to install.
    Via http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=4393...
    I can't seem to select my OS. No WS 2008 R2 in list.
    I assumed W7 64 bit was closest to my os.
    So i selected this and tried to download driver.
    There is only an .exe available, no seperate drivers packages.
    However, when I try to launch the .exe hoping that this will auto installs the drivers.
    First step i have to do is connect Printer USB Cable.
    As i mentioned earlier, this is a NETWORK printer and it's not attached via USB.
    I can't get past this "connect usb" screen.
    I've been searching at non-HP websites looking for the correct driver but without success.
    Anyone can help me out?

    Hi Mahya,
    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    Did you receive any particular error for your issue?
    Please check the link provided by Hari, you can use RD Easy Print driver for server 2008 R2.In addition, if possible try using Universal print driver for your case.

  • Oralce EPM Fails to install Weblogic on Windows Server 2008 R2 x64

    I've run the installer on Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 and it fails to install Weblogic. I don't have MIDDLEWARE_HOME/oracle_common. Config tool log says missing jars. When I go back to install and choose products individually, Weblogic Server is gray. When I click on Weblogic Server, the message at the bottom says can not be installed.
    I have checked that I have extracted the following assemblies:
    Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installer, Fusion Edition Release 11.1.2.0.0
    Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Foundation Services Release 11.1.2.0.0 - Parts 1 - 4
    Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Additional Content Release 11.1.2.0.0
    I have run this same set of files on another server and Weblogic was installed. Am I missing something?

    I am not sure if it is your problem but I don't think R2 is officially supported, I did have problems with it when I first installed 11.1.2 so I installed with R1 SP2.

    Hi All,
      As per the latest available sapinst and the kernel DVS's the system does not come up in the Java stack/Dual stack. Fails at the stage Starting the Java stack/SAPJSF creation stage. This is due to the kernel issue as the latest kernel is not bundled as a part of the DVD.
    You are opt for 2 options
    1. Stop the installation and the Bring down the system via MMC/cmd. backup the kernel and upgrade the Kernel with the latest Kernel available in the market place and then start the SAPINST. This would go ahead fine and the system would come up.
    This is valid for the Dual stack and Java only system. In As ABAP the system get installed but the system would give dumps as soon as we log in so the Kernel upgrade needs to be done to proceed with the rest of the post steps.
    2. Follow the snote: Note 1480785 - Creating a Modified Windows Kernel DVD for not getting bothered with these errors while installations.
    Hope this helps -- Further more SAP would be coming out with the new DVD's/Support for Windows 2008 R2 pretty soon.
    Thanks,
    Lijin Xavier

  • Windows Server 2008 sp2 Task Scheduler missing next run time after restart

    Hi,
    I have the issue that there does not appear to be a fix for with a server 2008 sp2 (NOT R2) where after a restart all tasks are missing the next run time so I need to edit each task to add this time back in. I have tried  the hotfix in KB 950035
    but this when you run it is only for Vista and cannot be installed despite saying it's also for Server 2008.
    For some reason also this is Task Scheduler version 1 not 2 which I thought came with windows since Vista so SP2 should have it.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks,

    Hi Evans,
    Would you please let us know current situation of this issue?
    As Dave mentioned, Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 include all the previously released updates for Windows
    Server 2008.
    Based on your description, I understand that all scheduled tasks still miss the next run time on your Windows
    Server SP2 when the server restart. If anything I misunderstand, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
    On current situation, please open Properties of one problematic scheduled task, navigate to History tab, then
    check if find some relevant events or errors. Those may help us to go further analyze.
    If any update, please feel free to let us know.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Justin Gu
