CR transport compatibility

HI experts,
I'd like to know a thing: is possible to import some CRs from ECC 5.0 to the newest release ECC 6.0?
Which could b the issues that can arise?
There will be an incompatibility because the unicode or non-unicode format?
Because I read that ECC 6.0 is based on NW04s and is better to install it as unicode, but my ECC 5 is non-unicode.
Thank a lot to all
Daniele

SAP does not recommend or support transports between systems at differend release levels.

Exchange 2013 CU3 CAS & MBX are on Windows 2012
I would like to use a Exchange 2013 CU5 as an Edge Transport on a separate server running Windows 2012 R2.
    Is this compatible?

    Yes.

  • Workflow from 4.6c to 4.7

    Hi,
What are challenges that I may face when I move a workflow from one 4.6c version to 4.7 unicode system
    Thanks

    Hi Krishna,
Hope this might be of any use.
    transport compatibility 4.6C <-> 4.7 Enterprise
    Re: transport compatibility 4.6C <-> 4.7 Enterprise
    Regards,
    Srinivas.

  • Can not install transporter 1.7.6 on ubuntu 8.04

I'm trying to install transporter and get the following output:
    $ sudo sh ./iTMSTransporter_installer_linux_1.7.6.sh
    Verifying archive integrity... All good.
    Uncompressing iTMSTransporter Installer...................................................................... .....
    eval: 1: ./install_script.sh: Permission denied
I tried to install it on a different server running on Ubuntu 12.04 where it worked perfectly.
Any ideas why it wont work on the other machine?

I asked this question in "book delivery" but it must have been moved to "windows compatibility", it was not my intention for it to be here. I agree that this has nothing to do with windows compatibility so I will see if I can have this moved.

  • Table Maintenance View Generator - 46C to 60 compatibility

Table Maintenance View Generator - 46C to 60 compatibility
I think SAP changed the way it generated its View Maintenance Screens some time after release 46C such that view maintenance dialogs in 46C are maintainable in subsequent releases but that view dialogs created in subsequent releases are not compatible in 46C.  <u>This is my hypothesis.</u>
<b>Can someone confirm?  Is there a way to revert 60 code to the way the dialog was generated in 46C?</b>
The error in the transport log from a 60 system to a 46C system is:
"Field '<VIM_TOTAL_STRUC>' is unknown. It is neither in one of the specified"

    Hi April,
You can use standard program <b>RSWBO052</b> to change the package. Enter the object and mark the checkbox -> Execute -> Place the cursor in the object -> Right click mouse -> Reassign -> Enter new package -> Save.
or you can go to transaction SE80 -> Select Package -> Enter &TMP -> Hit Enter -> Find your object -> put the cursor and right click -> Other functions -> Object Directory Entry -> Change -> Change the package -> Save.
    Hope this will help.
    Regards,
    Ferry Lianto

  • Window 8.1 / Windows 8.1 Pro compatibility differences connecting to remote SSAS 2005 via SSMS 2014

    Hi,
Should there be a difference of compatibility between Windows 8.1 (laptop A) and Windows 8.1 Pro (laptop B) when connecting to a SSAS instance on a remote 2005 SQL Server via SSMS 2014?
I am able to connect to the SSAS from laptop A without having set any permissions explicitly, or otherwise. While on laptop B it cannot connect, stating"Forcibly Closed by Remote Host" as the error. I have run a SQL Server Profiler trace, laptop A
logs in as Administrator, again no permissions were set explicitly, compared to laptop B that attempts to login as anonymous.
I also tested connecting to the SSAS via Excel 2013 from both laptops. Laptop A connects without issues whereas Laptop B gives an error pertaining to the transport layer.
Why is this happening? What is the problem and how do I go about fixing it?
    Thank you.

By default, SSAS only support windows account. Have you configured the HTTP access to SSAS? If yes, what’s the authentication setting? Can you connect to SSAS via the URL in SSMS? Anyway, just for test purpose, change the authentication to windows Integrated,
disable Anonymous access for the pump

  • Where is the transport files to enable BODS 4.2 and ECC 5 or earlier comunucation?

    Hello everyone.
I am working on a project with SAP BODS 4.2, I need to extract information from SAP ECC 4.6, 5 and 6.
The problem is that the directory where previously BODS versions used to put the transport file (.... \ SAP BusinessObjects \ Data Services \ admin \ R3_Functions) is only one transport, and the readme file has  the next sentence:
"This document identifies the content of transport files provided with SAP BusinessObjects Data Services. These files use the SAP Correction and Transport System (CTS) to install the Data Services-provided functions.
For detailed information about installing SAP functions provided by Data Services, see the SAP BusinessObjects Data Services Supplement for SAP.
If you use a provided transport file, it loads the appropriate functions into a single function group /BODS/BODS, which is automatically created in your SAP system.
SAP BASIS 4.6D or earlier: 900187.R22"
Where to find the tranport for ECC version 5 or what is the solution?
I have no problem for ECC version 6.0

    Dear Daniel,
I think there will be compatibility issues with BODS 4.1 and ECC 5 or less version.
I am assuming that for BODS 4.1 the ECC version has to be 6.0  version.
Please confirm this details prior implementing
    Thanks & Regards

I want to confirm that is it possible to perform transports in different version systems. Our requirement is to create the request from ECC5 and then import it in our Netweaver 04s server.
So first I want to know is it possible and second thing as i know for it i have to only manually copy cofile and datafile in target system and then by STMS add to buffer and then import,Is there anything else also i have to do like changing file permission.I am using windows 2003 server.
    Please suggest.
    Deepak

as u would be aware transport is done by r3 trans
different versions of R3trans are fully compatible with each other, because the data is transported in a standard format. Thus one can use different versions of R3trans for export and import.
Transports between different databases or operating systems are not a problem either.
When you transport between different SAP release levels, note that this usually does not present any technical problems due to the upward and downward compatibility of R3trans , but logical inconsistencies could occur in such transports
Further technical and logical problems for the various releases are outlined in notes 60928, 120151, 126776 and 330267.
    hope this helps !

  • I am switching to Apple macbook pro from Windows laptop.  Is Apple compatible with Microsoft Office?  How can I transport from Windows to Mac?  What I have saved on external hardrives, will I be able to open it on Mac?

I am switching to Apple macbook pro from Windows laptop.  Is Apple compatible with Microsoft Office?  How can I transport from Windows to Mac?  What I have saved on external hardrives, will I be able to open it on Mac?

Is Apple compatible with Microsoft Office?
Any computer is compatible as long as it can read and write Office files. But for perfect (or at least near perfect) compatibility, you would want to purchase Office 2011 for Mac.
How can I transport from Windows to Mac?
You can't directly transport any installation of Windows. All PC's come with a machine specific version of Windows intended for that PC. They don't have all of the hardware drivers the retail disks cover.
If you want Windows on your Mac, you would first purchase a full version copy (NOT an upgrade disk) of Windows 7 or 8. Those are the only supported versions on newer Macs. You install it through the supplied Boot Camp utility that comes with the Mac to create a new partition for Windows, and then install the retail copy of Windows you purchased.
The reason only these versions of Windows are supported is the same basic reason as a machine specific version of Windows for a PC. Apple only includes the necessary Mac hardware drivers for Win 7 or 8 on new Macs.
Once Windows is installed, you could then install the version of Office for Windows you already own. The nuisance of a Boot Camp partition is that you have to physically boot to either Windows or OS X, so you can only use the apps of the OS you're in at the time. To use both at once, you'd have to use virtual machine software (Parallels, VMware, VirtualBox) and then install Windows within that. Then you'd be able to run Windows inside of OS X and have access to both at the same time.

  • Moving Transport Set from 9.0.4 to 10.1.2.0.0 environment

    Hi,
I am moving transport set from 9.0.4 environment to 10.1.2.0.0 environment.
But when I import it on 10.1.2.0.0 environment I get the compatibility error,
I am using imp.sh to import. Following error occurs when I try to import:
    Checking for Portal Version Compatibility...
Error: Source and Target Portals are of different versions
    Cannot proceed with Import
Could any one let me know, Is there any way to move the transport set from old version to the new one. Apart from upgrading the old one.
    -Santosh

    Santosh,
No, sorry but there isn't a supported way of doing this.
Oracle Portal only allows you to use the Portal Export / Import between the same level of patching. Trying possible workarounds will lead you in an unsupported state.
The only way as you've said is to upgrade your older version to the same level of the newly installed version, ie, bring your 9.0.4 to 10.1.2.0.x.
Metalink Note:263995.1 - Master Note for OracleAS Portal Export / Import Issues may help you.
    I hope it helps...
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • What are the functionalities provided by SAP ECC 6.0 (Logistics Execution) for inward and outward transportation?

The Transportation Module provides a very detailed functionality to capture & control the transportation both inward and outward. However there is a set of transaction codes in SAP ECC 6.0 which may provide some functionality on transportation.
Can Logistics Execution provide some basic control in the absence of Transportation Module? Also what are the advantages Transportation Management module provides over Logistics Execution in SAP ECC 6.0?

    Hello Prasad,
For ESS and MSS you do not require special data from the backend side, If a person has master data maintained in PA30, He can see his personal details in ESS, For that employee should maintain the Portal user id in Infotype 0105 , subtyp0001.
With that userid he can able to enter the portal and maintain his details. Same is the case for MSS , Manager should have maintained 0105 subtype 0001. and he can see the details of his employees in MSS application.
For ESS you need to have Portal
    SAP_ESS
    PCUI_GP
    BP for ESS
You can check the following link :
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPHCM/HOWTOGETRIDOFSPSTACKMISMATCHISSUES
about the compatibility of Support Packages..
All the above mentioned package should be deployed on Eneterprise Portal.
You can search on various blogs also about this information.
    Best Regards,
    Deepak..

    Sql> alter tablespace TEST read only;
    $ expdp system/pass dumpfile=test.dmp directory=export_dir transport_tablespaces=test transport_full_check=y
after this i am coping test.dmp and data file (test.dbf) to the target machine (ms windows xp 32-bit with oracle 10.1) .
on Target Machine (with Ms windows xp os) here i am giving the following command:
    impdp system dumpfile=test.dmp directory=exp_dir transport_datafiles=/exp_dir/test.dbf
but it is giving following error:
