CR XI release 2 RDC license problems
We are having problems deploying our VB6 app with the Embeddable Report Designer. We were, until recently, using CR XI release 1 with no problems. However a problem with sub reports caused us to upgrade to CR XI Release 2. We then found another problem with the RDC in that we couldn't save a report. This has now been fixed in fixpack 5.2. But given that the latest merge modules for vb6 only go as far as sp3 let alone contain sp5 and the hotfix we cannot use the merge modules to deploy our app.
By replicating the files shipped in the merge modules I have managed to create an msi that works for all functions that i need except the RDC. I believe I have followed the code samples correctly when using SetLicenseKeycode to enter the report creation license but I cannot get the deployed application to accept the license. I have used Dependancy Walker, Process Explorer and Modules, searched the forums and read various white papers but I still cant get past the invalid or expired license message.
Have started to tear my hair out so any help would be gratefully appreciated.

The error we were having was that we couldnt save reports created using the embeddable designer. We logged an incident with SAP support and thats how we know it has been fixed in the fix pack.
We have been using Crystal Reports for a long time now so the idea of creating our own deployment msi from scratch isnt as daunting as it may seem and we have pretty much got it right apart from the report developer license code.

The java weblogic.Admin LICENSES utility lists the license that the server
is using.
If you had multiple licenses and did not know which one was being picked
this utility will help you.

Regarding the documentation error can you paste the url where you found the
error. I will make sure I inform the person responsible for that.
Regarding the information returned by the license utility I will follow up
with Engineering to check if it would be possible to change the format
returned.

New hard drive and photoshop license problem
I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a 1.5 Ghz Pentium processor, 2 GB of RAM, and Win Xp/Pro SP3.
The hard drive in this computer failed, and it has been replaced. I used an image backup from Acronis True Image 10 to "restore" the new disk.
Now, when I try to open Phostoshop CS2, I receive a message that the license is no longer valid (I have been using this version of Photoshop for a long time).
I don't have this problem with InDesign CS3 (v. 5.0.2), FrameMaker 7.2b144, or Acrobat 8.1.6.
I didn't find any helpful info on the "Product Activation" web page.
I tried a forum search and a search of Adobe.com using the search criteria "new hard drive and photoshop license problem."
The only relevant item I could find is this:

While reactivation after backing up or restoring the system was required in early versions of Adobe software (such as Adobe Photoshop® CS), Adobe has continued to improve the activation process with new technology that eliminates the need to reactivate after system restoration. Once the system upgrade is completed, the subsequent install/restore will require reactivation, which is typically accomplished without difficulty and is completely transparent to the user."
So does that mean I have to "reactivate" Photoshop CS2? If so, do I use the Activation window that is displayed when I open Photoshop? The serial number has 20 characters. Will the Adobe (re)activation recognize this old serial number? If not, what do I have to do to get this product usable again?

Interesting... I use http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm which creates a bootable CD and runs outside of Windoze
I have made image files and loaded those files to a new hard drive (I use drive swap hardware to make a backup and create a new drive every time I install or uninstall major software) and have never had any program complain about needing activation
But, since the program I use is Linux on a bootable CD, it copies EVERYTHING on a hard drive, even the hidden registration areas as far as I can tell, so when I do a restore to a new drive, everything is put on the new drive -
Old Mac died. Have PE 9 and while it installs I get a licensing problem I have the original discs and the serial. How do I fix this? I don't need the new version and I just want to use what I have already paid for. Error 213:5
Did you migrate over the data from your old computer? If so, there's probably something you brought over that knows it's not on the same hardware as before. In that case you need to run this:

and then go around and manually remove all the bits and bobs, not just from applications but also from hard drive>library>application support>adobe and from your username>library>preferences. Spotlight will not help you. You have to go looking on your own.

I would like to make everyone aware of an issue with RDS and the FIX from Microsoft services which I consider unacceptable.
The setup is as follows. One 2012 DC with Terminal server licensing installed. Two 2012 servers with RDS enabled. Take note that RDS was NOT deployed using the wizard as there is no need
for all of the resources of a server farm for 2 servers. On each of the RDS enabled servers, group policey was used to enable and specify the RDS server and licensing mode. The RD Licensing Diagnoser was used to verify, and report that no licensing
problems for the Remote Desktop Session Host Server existed, and the tray icon that reports that you are running a trial version of RDS does NOT appear.
Advance forward a few months and users start reporting that they cannot login and that they are receiving “The remote session was disconnected because there are no RDS license servers available
to provide a license."
After doing all that I could I filed a case with Microsoft Support at the Highest Level Possible. After a month I finally was able to talk to someone. After 2 more weeks, here is the solution
they gave me….
Open the registry, Navigate to HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\TerminalServer\RCM
Delete the GracePeriod Key
Reboot
This continues to occur every few months. I wish someone at MS would FIX the problem.

i have 5x 2012 RDS farms, nearly identical in configuration dispersed throughout the globe, each farm has:
2x RDSH
1x RDCB, RDWeb, RDLicense server with 2012 CALs deployed as User Mode
We are pointing directly to the license server in our collection settings (only 1 collection per farm) and also again via GPO settings to override license server auto discovery options
These systems were rolled out using scenario-based installs so while RDWeb is there, it's not actually being used (nothing published to it), users are leveraging session-based desktops via RDP client both internally and externally
systems are all domain joined, we're still on 2003 functional level in AD
i first encountered this issue around the 120 days mark after the first farm went into production, we saw that users could not login and event ID 1130 was being thrown for every login attempt.
i saw this article and followed the steps to resolve it:

however, after another 120 days passed, i ran into the same issue again, realizing this was not a permanent fix. after just opening the case with MS on this a couple of weeks ago, they've told me it's a bug and so for now, i proactively purge the
L$RTMTIMEBOMB_nnnn key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\RCM\GracePeriod, i restart
TermService so i don't have to reboot the whole box and it's fine for another 120 days
during the issue and even when it's not occurring, licensing diagnostics come up clean, i haven't taken a report while the issue is occurring but when it's not occurring the reports show CALs being assigned to all users by the license server.
basically, it seems like even though we have a license server that is activated with user CALs, the Review section shows green checks under both sections, and reporting is fine - the system is stuck in 120 day trial mode for some reason.
now MS did say they know about this and they're working on a fix, hopefully not to just get me off the phone, but they didn't have a different workaround and advised that i continue doing what i'm doing.
what i don't really understand is that when i remove the L$RTMTIMEBOMB_nnnn
key from the registry, it gets recreated upon the first user logon that has to go talk to the license server. in a working 2012 environment, should this key even exist if an active license server is already available? -

JCom License Problems on WLS 7.0
I've read through the various threads posted here on people hitting licensing problems
with JCom. Unfortunately, I seem to be having the same problem however the workarounds
suggested by others don't seem to be solving my problems.
I'm trying to get a bare bones example of a Java2Com application running. I'm
using WebLogic 7.0 SP1 on Win2k. Whenever I run my example, I get the following
error:

I recorded a clip 1 hr and 50 min long using Sony PMW-EX1 in SD to On Location, exported the file in m2t format to external hard drive, then imported to Pre Pro CS3 on my editing computer. I loaded the clip into time line to begin editing and the first 30 min of audio played normally, then it started over to the beginning. The last 30 mins. of audio were lost. The 1 hr and 50 min. of video was normal. There is nothing wrong with the clip- it plays normally in Nero Show, and plays normally in On Location. This has happended to me before and I reshot the clip and all was well. This one can't be reshot. .
I tried making a new preferences file- no help. I then reinstalled Pre Pro- no help. I tried reloading the clip .several times- no help. I reinstalled Pre Pro again- oops- now my license has stopped working. I've tried phone support several times, and I've tried web support. Phone support said they would call me back- they didn't. Web support suggested downloading and following the steps of an article from their knowledgebase (KB401528). I did so and this didn't work. When I went back to the article the message said this article doesn't exist. Now there's a problem with the website that won't let me submit messages- they disappear and aren't received. It seems all modes of communication with tech support are blocked.
I'm really frustrated with Adobe Support. I see a letter explaining there are problems with tech support- no kidding. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? This is a commercial project with a very fast approaching deadline- all suggestions would be appreciated. First issue is to fix license problem because Pre Pro won't even open. I take this to mean that you have one internal HDD (Hard Disk Drive), your C:\. It contains all of your OS and programs, plus your Windows Virtual Memory (Page File). All of your media, your Project and your Scratch Disks are on your external. Is that correct?
What is the connection type for that external, i.e. USB 2.0, FireWire 400 (IEEE-1394), FW-800 (IEEE-1394b) or eSATA?
USB 2.0 will yield really poor performance, and many have had issues using externals with this connection. FW-400 is a bit better, and likely a touch more stable, but FW-800, and especially eSATA, are much better to edit to/from. I use a bank of FW-800 externals, as I swap Projects between several computers and have not had an issue, plus the speed is OK.
Sorry to hit you with confusing questions. I'll break things down a bit more, and try not to use as much jargon in the future.

In early November, presumably after the cyberattacks that targeted Adobe earlier this Fall, we received a notice indicating a problem processing the monthly payment for my Creative Cloud license. We provided new corporate credit card info for billing, but it never successfully renewed our license. Last week, we discovered that the license had expired, locking me out of my Creative Cloud products. Despite notifications from Adobe Support that the problem had been resolved, I am still unable to reliably access the Creative Cloud software.
I've tried logging out of the Creative Cloud client, then logging back in a few times. That allowed me to open either InDesign, Acrobat, or Photoshop once. Thereafter, and for all other products, I continue get the following sequence of messages: (1) Renew your subscription. If you've already renewed, press "try again"; (2) Thank you, your subscription is now active - press "continue" use your product, (3) Renew your subscriptio. If you've already renewed, press "try again" . . ." and so on, ad infinitum. Occasionally, I will get an "Adobe Software License Agreement" splash screen that temporarily lets me access the software, but stops working again once I exit the program and try to relaunch.

Crystal Reports license problem
Hi,
My customer's server has Crystal Reports Professional 9 installed. We have application installed on this server also. This application is deployed as a Windows service. This Windows service is calling multiple reports using threads (3 maximum concurrent threads). The reports are querying data from remote database and export to pdf files. However, sometimes we got the following error and cause some reports not generated.

I wonder how Crystal Reports calculate a concurrent license. Does it mean 1 thread per 1 license? But our license should be enough. How can we check a number of licenses are allowed on the server?
I've read the following post "Re: RDC, Crystal Reports XI, runs out of licenses" which might match our case. If I fall into that case, what edition should I install on the server for Crystal Reports 9?

Noppadon S.Same issue as the other posting. The RDC was not designed to be a Server product and is limited to 3 report jobs.
You only option in code is to buld in job limitations. If the number of open report jobs is above 3 then queue the next jobs until one of the open jobs are released. There are no API's in the RDC to get the number available, you have to manage it manually.
Other option is to upgrade to a supported product like CR Server, it has a 20 CPL user license limit but in small installations this is sufficient to run and schedule reports. -
SAP License Problem in EP System

I have already applied the SAPlicense through Visual Administrator.
start the Visual Administrator tool (usr\sap\SID\JC<xx>\j2ee\admin\go) and from there you can find the "Licensing Adapter" when you select correct server and "Services" underneath it.
But the problem is while executing the saplicense -show at OS level... i am getting below error..

Netweaver 7.01 License Problem - Advanced

I have been running SAP Netweaver 7.01 for a few months now without any problems. I have renewed the license once or twice before. This time when I try to renew the license, it is giving me problems.
Some details about my version of Netweaver:
Component Version: SAP EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0
All componsnets running on 701 patch 3.
I requested a new license from https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap%28bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==%29/bc/bsp/spn/minisap/minisap.htm - I logged in as SAP* to go to transaction SLICENSE to get the hardware key. I selected "NSP SAP Netweaver 7.0/2004s (SP9 and higher)"
It sent me an email with the license file. I saved the file to disk, went back to SLICENSE under SAP* and clicked on the "New License" button. I then clicked on "Install". I pointed to the license file, and when I proceed, it tells me "Error: got system number "000000000311147814" from the digital signature based license library and "000000000311291144" from the old license key library. They are not equal which is not allowed."
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

I had the same problem in interpreting the release levels of the Developer Edition, when compared to the [[SAP Sneak Preview License Key Request Page|http://www.sap.com/solutions/netweaver/minisap/]]. You may remember that on this page , there are two entries for NSP in the System Id dropdown.
