CR08 report published on BOEXI works fine, but not on CRS08 (JDBC conn)

CR08 report published on BOEXI works fine, but same report published on CRS08 does not work (JDBC connectivity)
The workflow is:
1 - Crystal Report was created using CR2008 using JDBC connectivity,
2 - Published on BOEXI, and
3 - Same report accessed through InfoView
Remark - the report works fine.
The very same .rpt when published on CRS 08, throws an error;
1 - Crystal Report was created using CR2008 using JDBC connectivity,
2 - Publishing it on CRS 2008, and
3 - Same report accessed through InfoView
Remark - The report does not open (Error: Failed to open the connection.... )
If the publishing of reports take place from CR08 to BOE XI and could be successfully viewed in InfoView, then why cannot the same rpt be viewed in CRS 2008 InfoView.

Moving to BOE forums.

  • ColdFusion 4.5 & Oracle 8.1.6 - Both work fine but not together!

    Hi everyone,
We installed Oracle 8.1.6 and ColdFusion 4.5 on RedHat 6.2. Both individually work fine, but we cannot get the combination to work.
SqlPlus gets a connection to a remote server, so the tnslistener configuration works. We tried both the ODBC and native drivers, but the connections never verify O.K.
The only thing we worry about is that the script that CF provides for relinking of the libclntsh.so stops with an error:
    (...)/8.1.6/lib naldflgds not found
    ld: cannot find -lsql
We already tried the suggestion of Borren Jeng (run gennaflg from $ORACLE_HOME/bin). Regretfully this gennaflg also doesn't exist, so this didn't work for us...
We really got stuck here, so any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
    - Richard.

The naldflgds is only exist in V8.0.5.
Here is what yo can try:
you only need to do the folling things.
    1. copy $ORACLE_HOME/lib/libclntsh.so to CFUSN/lib
    2. you need to chmod for your $ORACLE_HOME directory to allow the Coldfusion owner execute the file under $ORACLE_HOME. I don't remeber what the exaclty number need for chmod on $ORACLE_HOME, but you can try
"chmod -R 8.1.6" (if you $ORACLE_HOME=/home/oracle/app/product/8.1.6 you should cd to =/home/oracle/app/product)This should work. but this cause another seurity issue.

  • Airport Extreme N works fine but not when WDS activated

I replaced my old Airport Extreme by the new 802.11n.
Works fine with our Macbooks (pro) enabled for n.
But when I activate WDS (I'd like to use my old airport Express for airtunes sometimes), an error message appears (WDS error) in the summary, and the light flashes alternatively in green and yellow... Everything else seems to work (internet connexion), but it seems no WDS possible... If I swtich it off, everything is just fine and green...
Of course I reinitialized the base, I once used the Airport utility assistant and then manually reput my personal options. I upgraded my airport firmware to 7.1 and WDS error message is still there with the flashing light... And I tried to see if my old express would make it but nope.

I had similar issues. To roll the firmware back to an earlier version try this:
    - With the option key depressed, launch the Airport Utility (located: /Applications/Utilities)
    - Select your problematic extreme base station and then while holding option again, click "Continue" and then choose Manual Setup.
    - It should prompt you to choose a firmware version to upload. You can select 7.0 or 7.1.
The process is a little different on PC. Let me know if this solves your problem or if you need the directions for doing this from within Windows!

  • Home sharing working fine - but not for paid itunes content on some devices

My setup is a simple apple home sharing network.
I have a mac mini running OS X 10.6.8 and itunes 11.0.3(42) it hosts a lot of music, DVD's that have been re-encoded and paid for content from itunes.
The mac mini is conntected to the network over a very good gigbit lan and has 4 apple TV3 (latest gen) hanging off the network, and multiple PC/Mac/ipod/ipad devices hanging off the network.
All these devices connect using home sharing and work very well (I can use all 4 apple TV devices at once streaming 1080p media with no lag / delay problems)
There is one exception to this, my PC and Mac.
I have a Macbook pro running OX 10.6.8 and itunes 11.0.3(42) and a PC running Windows 7 64bit with Itunes 11.0.3(42). Both are also connected via gigabit lan, both run of SSD's so have excellent local disk performance, both have over 6 GB of ram at least.
If I open itunes and connect to the itunes home media server and play music, tv shows films all is well, ranging anything from a DVD rip to a HD bluray rip. as soon as I try to play a HD movie or TV show downloaded from itunes there is a problem. I get approx 30 seconds into the content and then it just stops as if I'd hit pause and never actually starts playing.
At first I thought this was buffering problems/flooding on my lan, so I isolated this, even though my network monitor shows lots of capacity on the lan, I removed all devices apart from the mac mini serving the home media and either the PC or the Mac, I hit the same problem.
To diagnose this further I opened a network monitor application on the PC, the playback mac and the media server mac mini and tried to open a file in itunes.
on the client and the server the network spikes straight away, and uses 100 network for around 5 seconds (if I do this with other devices such as apple TV's plugged into the network too the overall usage is lower, it basically uses as much as is availble, so %100 utilization isn't a problem) and then the network traffic just stops on both devices. The same is true of the disk activity, I see a raise is disk I/O on the home media mac mini for 4 - 5 seconds and then a lesser spike on the local playback machine both stop after 4 - 5 seconds in sync with the network stopping.
Both machines remain on the network fine, but the transmission of the media between itunes server and client just stops. I then open another file, a bluray rip, some music etc, and it plays works fine, return back to the paid for itunes content, it fails at exactly the same spot.
This happens on any itunes paid for HD movie or TV shows, so it's not just one file, it's approx any of the 200 itunes downloaded HD files I have on this machine.
I can play the files fine with apple TV's, I've tried watching 4 different apple downloaded itunes HD films at once on 4 apple TV's it works fine, it's only if I open the file via itunes with the PC or Mac.
All are linked with the same home sharing account so it's not / shouldn't be a DRM style issue.
Why is this happening on the more powerful PC/Mac computers, but not on the lesser apple TV, ipad, iphone devices ?

going to try to bump this to get some traction / suggestions on it

  • Ipod touch works fine but not nano?

    Heya,
I've got a 4th generation ipod that I bought for my dad and I have an ipod touch (1st gen). I have no problems w/ the touch as it is easily recognised in iTunes however the ipod nano is not being recognised at all either by Windows 7 (64-bit) or iTunes. I didn't have this problem in Vista with the nano at all.
Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? I don't think it's the apple usb driver as the iPod touch is detected and can be sync'd. I've disabled all other services to try to narrow it down and still no luck.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

Hmmm. The touch uses the Apple Mobile Device Service for syncing and whatnot, but the nano would be using the iPod Service. So if there was trouble with the iPod Service on the PC, you could have trouble with your nano even though the Touch is working fine.
Let's have a look at your iPod Service in Services.
In your Start menu, right-click "Computer" and select "Manage". Expand "Services and Applications" and click "Services". Maximise the Window so you can see what's going on.
Find the iPod Service in the list of services. What is currently showing up next to it? For example, I see "Started" and "Manual".

  • BO method works fine but not the wokflow step.

    Hi,
Just needed a suggestion. I have a PO attachment workflow. When i see the workflow log I see some error at the step check attachment. But when I run the step task  method in this step seperately from BO, it works fine, i just pass the same container elements as i get in the workflow id to this method of the step.
So now any kind of hint what and where could be the problem. As I can see there is no problem with the task method.
    Any guess?
    Thanks,
    AC.

  • Pdnsd works fine, but not after reboot

Hey guys, I just installed pdnsd and it works great, except that after each reboot, the server fails.
I've included it in my daemons array right after networking, and on reboot the boot messages show that it's starting successfully, but then it doesn't work and only gives a server failed error message when I run an nslookup or dig search.
Once booted, I can run /etc/rc.d/pdnsd restart and all is working fine again.
Anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
    Thanks for any help.

skymt wrote:Did you get my email? I asked you to run pdnsd as root and see what errors it prints. I've also discovered since then that pdnsd logs to /var/log/daemon.log, so the relevant contents of that file might also be useful.
Yes, I did skymt and thanks for that.  I got no errors at all and it ran just fine.  I had already looked in daemon.log but didn't see anything that led me to a fix.
I've found that if I use the "none" option for uptest in the server section, everything works fine on a fresh reboot.  Is there any problem with me using that option?  Or would changing some other option fix it, perhaps?
All the permissions seem to be in order on all files and folders related to pdnsd.
Thanks a million for the reply and help.

  • IChat used to work fine but not any more - suggestions?

I've used iChat for about 1 year very successfully but recently video chat has stopped working. I have a MacBook Pro that doesn't work and a PowerBook where it still works fine.
Both have the same system and iChat software. Both are on the same wireless network. The Powerbook can connect to collegues and also the Apple test users (appleu3test01, 02, 03 etc.) while the MacBook Pro no longer connects although it used to connect just fine.
Symptom: I've tried having the MacBook request a conference with the PowerBook and the PowerBook never realizes that the MacBook requested a conference. When I try to initiate the conference from the PowerBook to the MacBook the MacBook never acknowledges that there has been a request. If I try to connect to appleu3test01 iChat on the MacBook displays
"Waiting for response..." for as long as I leave it the request window open.
It seems my MacBook Pro can no longer initiate nor recognize a video chat. (text chat works fine)
Given the above situation I have not tried to modify my router settings nor look into what my service provider might be doing - after all, everthing is still working great on one of my Macs.
All I have done is to try the old school Mac trick of deleting preferences. Specifically the com.apple.iChat.SubNet.plist, com.apple.iChatAgent.plist, com.apple.iChat.plist plists. That made no difference.
If anyone has any suggestions for me I would be very grateful.
    Thanks in advance

I share that funny feeling but:
10.4.3 is to long ago for me to know whether it is within reach of the backward compatibility specifics of 10.4.10, the machine specifics, the routers settings and it's performance in combination with the italian provider and the policy they have towards their subscribers. Just to give an example, apparently the Powerbook does video chat, the MacBook doesn't The QT version that currently is downloadable has system requirements that ask for 10.4.9 as a minimum. And that is just a detail.
A little change to your settings could solve this, but I advice you to to a reset of your network hardware, and update them one by one to the current release versions of their hard (firmware) and software. Check the site of the ISP and router for advise on their current network mode. Write down their details, and your required input network access. Unplug the devices. Leave them a good 15 minutes to power completely down. The device that comes first in contact with the internet connection needs to be plugged in first. Wait till the lights are blinking stable, now connect your MacBook Pro direct to the Ethernet port of the Modem (?) and log in to the interface of the device by typing it's IP address into Safari. Choose easy set up, and you will be asked to input the information you have previously checked on your ISP's site. Check if the firmware corresponds with the version you looked up on their site. It probably will mention if there is new software available and it will take a minute. After the device has restarted, connectivity is confirmed. Click an internet site in safari, and walk through the network diagnostics windows to set up a stable network conform ISP advice. Now the second mac needs to start, select a site in safari, if it needs diagnostics it will ask, respond in accordance to join the network you just have set up.
Some possible trouble causes to look at as well:
Channel settings used by the american sold Extreme is not set to a number that the Italian bought Express automatically switched to as interference was eminently asking for. (Or vice versa and variations on the theme)
Encryption running on the MacBook Pro could cause the problem etc.
The MacBook Pro has an Extreme card. The Powerbook has an Express card.
The Extreme is limited to the performance of the Express now.
Check the help feature as well, open iChat, select help in the top menu.
You need to have a valid internet account, and current up to date software & firmware.
Hope it covers your issue but if it is not solved please post back: Firewall or router settings are likely to cause these problems as well. I am not very good at those.

  • Email @me and gmail work fine, but not from iPhoto

e-mail works fine, checked all connections, PWs etc., but not when sending photos from iPhoto; error message is :The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination.  I've checked both in email accounts and reset both.

What are you settings in the iPhoto Preferences > General?
If you have set "Email photos using iPhoto", change this to "Email photos using Mail". This works more reliably.

  • SQL Devloper working fine but not SQL Plus

    Hi,
I am facing a problem that I can connect to oracle server via SQL Developer but cannot connect to the same using SQL*Plus.
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name
I checked many forums and followed each advices but in vein. To make sure that I have got only one instance of tnsnames.ora file, I removed oracle completely from my system and did the fresh installation of the same.Again, SQL Developer worked but not SQL*Plus.
Also, I updated dummy value in the tnsnames.ora file to check if SQLDeveloper is pointing to correct ora file, it failed means that its pointing to correct one only.
Also, this is not the problem with single machine rather my colleague is also facing the same problem while connecting to the same oracle. It suggest me that its rather problem with server side then client one but what do you people think the actual problem can be.
    Kindly advice
I am using oracle 10.2 and OS window server 2003 standard edition.
    Cheers,
    D

    The problem is client side.
The error message means that you're not getting
Are you using a TNS connection for SQL Developer?
If so, this error suggests that SQL Developer and SQL*Plus are not going through the same ORACLE_HOME and/or TNSNAMES.ORA.
For example, do you have the environment variable TNS_ADMIN set?
If you have metalink access, then there is a troubleshooting guide for ORA-12154 in Metalink note 114085.1

  • Blackberry pearl 8100 as a tethered modem - once worked fine but not anymore

For about a year upto late Sept 2008 I had been using my bb pearl 8100 as a tethered modem.  Although it was slow I was able to access the internet from my desktop pc.  But for some unknown reason in late Sept 2008 that all changed - i.e. I can longer access the internet from my desktop pc via the pearl - and neither I nor my ISP can work out what why.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled bb desktop manager (three different versions, the latest being 4.2.2.6), I have updated my device software, I have updated the modem drivers, I have installed the desktop software on 2 other computers and connected the pearl but I continue to experience the same problem, that being that although I am able to establish a phone connection little or no data is being transmitted.  The best I have been able to acheive is sending about 35k of data and receiving about 2.5k over a 3 hour period.  On most other occassions no data is exchanged at all although a connection is established.  Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this?  If so, how (if you did) did you  resolve it?  I'd also welcome any suggestions from others who think they have a solution.  Thanks. J.

in windows XP you can try:
    1. Select Start> Settings> Network Connections.
    2. Double-click the New Connection Wizard. New Connection Wizard will open.
    3. Click Next.
    4. Select the option Connect to the Internet. Click Next.
    5. Select Setup my connection manually. Click Next.
    6. Select Connect using a dial-up modem. Click Next.
    7. If the Select a Device screen appears, select the Modem - Standard Modem check box. Click Next.
    8. In the ISP Name field, type a name for your connection. Click Next.
    9. In the Phone number field, type * 99 #. Click Next.
    10. Indicate which users will have access to the connection. Click Next.
    11. Enter your user name and password provided by your service provider. Click Next.
    12. Click Finish.
    13. In the Connect window, click Properties.
    14. In the Properties window, verify that Modem - Standard Modem appears beneath the Connect using heading, then click Configure.
    15. In the Modem Configuration window, clear the Enable hardware flow control check box and make sure all of the other boxes are not checked above. Click OK.
    16. In the Properties window, click OK
in Ubuntu, I can not try it but I've tried in XP and succeeded.... good luck
