CR2008 forces change in page orientation

Using CR2008 on XP, I have built a report on a page set to 6in wide by 4in tall.
In the page setup, the orientation is forced to Landscape as opposed to Portrait.  If I was printing on a laser printer, that wouldn't be an issue, but I am printing to a Tally T6218 printer which is for continuous forms (tractor fed).  I try to change the 6x4 landscape to 6x4 portrait but CR forces it to landscape automatically.
I tried exporting the report to PDF, but it is stuck in landscape.
I have read blogs where others encountered this problem but I have not seen if there was a fix for this.

Hi Brad
Printing issues usually depend on the printer drivers; so would suggest you to update the driver to the latest version; For more information related to the Printer.
http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/cr2008/en/xir3_cr_usergde_en.pdf.
It is also observer when the width(Horizontal) is greater than height(Vertical)
then it takes the page orientation as Landscape automatically however with Crystal Report Base version it gives the desired output however in Crystal report 20087 and Crystal Report XI R2 it is found as a bug.
Hope this informationis helful to you.
Regards
Asha.

  • Change Default Page Orientation

After fiddling a bit with the settings in Ambrosia's Easy Envelopes (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/easyenvelopes/) I now find that that the default orientation on the printer dialog is always landscape.
How do I change the default page orientation on either the Standard or a saved preset from landscape to portrait? (Yes, for a saved preset I tried clicking on the portrait image and selected "save" but that didn't change what was selected the next time.)
Thank you for your time and attention.

I am not sure what the Ambrosia software set, but the page format information - scale, orientation, and paper size - aren't saved in the presets you mentioned or when saving a new preset.
You could try deleting the com.apple.print.PrintingPrefs.plist file from your home's Library/Preferences folder. Or you could use TextEdit to reset the orientation by bringing up the Page Setup dialog and changing the orientation to portrait and selecting Settings->Save as Default.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I change a print page orientation from portrait to landscape

How can I change the page orientation when printing from portrait to landscape?

By setting the print size  --  ie rather than 6x4 use 4x6 - and to avoid unwanted cropping you need to crop the photo to the target ratio before printing ( you can undo the crop after printing if you do not want it to be permanent)

  • Unable to Change Main Report Page Orientation in Crystal 10

    Hi,
My report has 8 sub reports and every sub report is placed in a report footer section. When I change the page orientation from portrait to landscape, no change in main report. but It does change the sub report paper orientation.
Is it because of the sub reports?
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Jyothi

    Thanks for the reply.
But I was changing whole report to landscape. When I select Default margins, Main report changed to Landscape, earlier adjust aumomatically option was selected in Page setup dialog. That solved my problem.

  • How do I change page orientation in the latest version of numbers?

IT seems that each subsequent update of I works removes features that I found VERY helpful in the past. I cannot seem to find a way to format the page in the latest version of numbers.

In the "Print Setup" mode (after selecting menu item "File > Print..."): you can change the page orientation:
This will not change how you see things on the screen while it will affect how the content is paginated at print time

  • Changing page orientation?

Is there a way to change the page orientation within the Reader?

There are two ways to answer your question.
    1. No, Reader can't change the orientation of a PDF file. That can only be done in the original program that created the PDF, or the page size could be changed in (paid) Adobe Acrobat.
    2. No, Reader can't change the display of a PDF. But if you have an iPad, you can change the display orientation of the PDF if you haven't locked that feature on the iPad. Go to Settings > General > Use Side Switch to: Lock Rotation (check). Then use the side switch on the iPad to allow display rotation.

How much of your code have you written so far?
Having a look at the vb code behind the scenes you need to set the wdOrientLandscape = 1.

  • PDFMaker changes page orientation when printing to pdf

Hi all! I am praying for an answer. My job requires me to convert huge word documents to pdf using the pdfmaker add-in with acrobat Professional 8.1.3. My problem is as follows and has occured in two seperate documents. I have Microsoft word 2007 and run on a VIsta OS.
So my problem is when I create a pdf from word acrobat for some odd reason changes any page's orientation that contain excel spreadsheets that have been inserted (I believe through copy and paste and they are not linked to excel). Thus I get a page with a landscape spreadsheet with a profile orientation and it cuts off the information for my client. By the way, it does the complete opposite of whatever orientation I choose.
Here are some things I have tried: I tried saving document as a 97-2003 word file and create pdf from that version, I have changed the PDFmaker advanced settings for auto-rotate pages and tried all three options to no avail. I really need some help fast! I will love anyone who solves this problem for me.
    Thanks,
           Jason.

GREAT NEWS!!! I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!
Okay so after a lot of frustration and mountain dew I have figured this out, but first the problem is simpler then I listed it. So here is the actual problem:
I had a document with multiple sections and one section was oriented landscape while the rest were profile. When printing to PDF the resulting pdf file had all sections in profile and ignored any change in orientation and cut off/cropped out elements of the pages I had in landscape orientation.
    SOLUTION:
The solution to this problem is in two parts: 1) changing some print preview stuff in word, and 2) changing preferences in pdfmaker/acrobat ribbon. For this solution to actually work however you must have the landscaped sections sectioned off by inserting section breaks in word.
Step 1) Go to the section where you document orientation is changed from the rest of the document. Press the office button (in 2007) and drag down to print>print preview. You will notice that your section has now reverted to profile. (Ah Ha!) Change the page orientation to landscape.
"But wait, now my margins or elements are getting cut off" you say. Go to Page setup. Make sure that near the bottom it says "Apply to: This section"
Now make it landscape and this changes the margins to also be landscape.
Step 2) Click on your Acrobat tab and go to preferences. Under pdfmaker settings click advanced settings and as Bill and I have said change auto-rotate pages to individually.
    AND YOU ARE DONE!!!!!

  • Page Tiling vs Page Orientation

How do I get the page tiling to convert to landscape? I can change the page orientation in the document setup box, but the tiling stays in portrait. Meaning, the only way for me to print a landscape page out of illustrator is to tile it.
    I am running CS3 (13.0.2) on a Mac G5 running 10.5.2
    Thanks,
    Jill

In the Print dialog,General pane, Media area, set click the landscape icon. Set the media size to match your Artboard size. Click Done.
Note, the preview shown in the print dialog does not flip to horizontal when you select a landscape tile. The outline of the tile rotates to vertical to match the preview of the artboard.

  • Cfdocument page orientation

    Hi,
does anybody know if it is possible to change the page
orientation ( from portrait to landscape) inside a single document
    using the cfdocument tag?
    Thanks
    Claudia

    Yes I know that.
I want to have one pdf-file.The first two pages in "portrait"
and the third page in "landscape".
I tried to use the cfdocument tag twice, but it doesn't work.
The second cfdocument tag is ignored.
    Here an example:
    <cfdocument format="pdf" orientation="portrait">
    ...first two pages
    </cfdocument>
    <cfdocument format="pdf" orientation="landscape">
    ... third page
    </cfdocument>
I hope it's more clear now.

  • LPM Custom URL for Force change password

    Hi All,
I have configured LPM in OAM Identity Server, In the password policy i have given the custom URL of my application for the change password screen after resetting the password.
The issue here is... When the user tries to login with the new password (resetted password) it is not redirecting to the force change password page...

I am having a similar issue with getting this feature to work.
I have the Force Change Password on Next Login checked, and I'm using (just for testing purposes) the amadmin account as the Bind DN.
Then when I configure a secret question for a user account, and change the password, then log in with the new password, I go to the configured "Default Success URL", and I am never forced to change my password.
Does anyone know what the expected functionality is when this does work?
I'm working with Identity 6.1 on a Solaris box.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Create content dependent sections and page orientations?

Hi there. I'm creating a large document that I would like to create a section in the begining that uses roman page numbers. I know I can do this by placing a section marker on a particalur page, but the problem is that when the content changes, the page number remains the same. I'm wondering if instead of creating a section marker for a page, that I can create a section marker within the content of my document.
My other question is similair. I have some pages that need to be in landscape, and I know how to change the page orientation, but again, as the content changes, that section may be pushed to a different page.
    Thanks

I read Pages User Guide. On page 56, it says that you can use predefined sections or pages. When i select ANY template, the only sections I get are BLANK, and TEXT.
It's clear that you haven't found all the templates yet. Most have several differently styled sections that may be added to your document.
Now that you've read the user guide, do some exploring. Use File > New from Template Chooser.
    You'll see something like:
After you have made a decision and opened a template, you can add Sections using the +Sections icon in the Menu Bar:
Note the variety of layouts for just this one template.
Things will smooth out as you gain experience. Don't try to do everything at once and you'll be fine.

    Jerry
