CR2008 Runtime Package

Hello,
I installed CR2008 runtime on a machine which also has version XI and the developer version of Crystal reports installed.  However, when I attempt to run an a report by right clicking on the RPT file, only XI and some other version that is not indicated show on the list, no CR2008. If I try the unidentified version I get the message the report was created with a later version so I assume it is NOT CR2008.
I also do not see Crystal Reports 2008 when I click on All Programs (This is a Windows 7 64 bit machine).  The other odd thing if that if I go to control panel and select programs, I do see CR2008 runtime but the icon is the piece of paper.
The reports will be called from a VB./NET application and when I try to run the report from the APP, I'm getting "Failed to open the connection, database Vendor Code: 4060". All of the other database queries in the report work fine, it's only the Crystal Reports which I assume is because we do not have CR2008 runtime installed correctly.
Is there something else I have to do to use the runtime version?
Thanks,
Vic

Don,
Thanks for the answer but I don't want to provide the users with the ability to modify the design of the report.  The reports are available in a vb.net app but I'm getting an error "Failed to open the Connection,  Database Vendor Code: 4060".  I was just trying to see if I could produce the report directly from the rpt without going throug the app as a test.
I understand now that CR2008 is not supported with VS 2010 and I installed "CRforVS_redist_install_64bit_13_0_2" on the deployed machines but I'm stll getting the same error on the vb.net app.

Our it team have an idea. They think that the problem is the double \ at the end of the reg key path. You can find this if you search

Can you check this or have you an other idea to solve the problem.

  • Difference between Crystal Reports Runtime Packages

    Post Author: blueyoj
    CA Forum: Deployment
    Hi,
We develop an application using Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 and we need to deploy Crystal Report viewer as a part of our setup package. Under Runtime Packages page, I see the following merge modules and MSI.
Crystal Reports 2008 Crystal Reports XI Release 2 Crystal Reports XI Crystal Reports 10 Crystal Reports 9   Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET 2005 Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET 2003 Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET 2002
What is the difference between Crystal Report xx (version) and Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET 200x?
If our application should support both 32-bit and 64-bit, does it mean that we need to create two separate setup packages and include proper Crystal Report? I can't find any merge module that supports both.

    Babita,
request you to post the same in the BO forums for more relevant answers...

  • CR2008 Runtime Information

hello....I need some information regarding the CR2008 Runtime files...
I have a client who is in the process of testing CR2008 reports thru a Visual Foxpro Application.
They would like to know what is/are the runtime file name(s) are; are there any parameters necessary
and if you have any instructions on setting the runtime up on various pcs...
If you could please supply that information or point me to a document that fully explains the Cr2008 runtime
and the installation process, passing any parameters if they are necessary,
    it would be greatly appreciated..
    thank you

    Using CR 2008, I'd assume you are using the Crystal Reports SDK for .NET and not the RDC as the RDC was retired in CR 2008. To distribute the runtime, you will have to use the merge modules from here;
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009159092009E/cr2008sp2_mm.zip
and create your own setup project using Wise, InstallShield, etc.
    Alternatively, you could use the msi from here;

  • Java-runtime package

    hi folks,
recently I've updated my system and watching pacman's output I've noticed a strange thing:
some package has as optional dependency a package called [java-runtime].
the problem is: there isn't any package with that name !!!
    why ???
    thank you

    It's a virtual package:
    $ pacman -S java-runtime
    resolving dependencies...
    looking for inter-conflicts...
    Packages (3):
Name New Version Net Change Download Size
    extra/ca-certificates-java 20121112+nmu2-2 0.01 MiB 0.01 MiB

    Edit:
    $ pacman -Si jre7-openjdk | grep Provides
    Provides : java-runtime=7
In cases like this, it's good to look around and run e.g.
    $ pacman -Ssq java-runtime

  • What is the best practice for checking if CR2008 runtime is installed?

I've created our crystal report functions in a .Net exe and it is launched from a Delphi application.
I need to check if the .Net runtime for CR 2008 is installed on a machine at startup of the delphi application.
Right now I am checking the registry at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sap BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports For .Net Framework 4.0\Crystal Reports
and checking the value for CRRuntime32Version.
This works great if a user is an admin on the machine, however I'm assuming due to group policies and restrictions this registry is not able to be read for some reason. My prompt continues to show up after installation because it can not get the value of the registry.
So before I get winded and ramble on, what is best practice to test to see if the runtime has been installed? Is there a particular section of the registry I can check? My next thought is to check for the runtime directory but that might not be efficient as I would hope.

Registry and folder is about all I can think of. Problem is, you're never guaranteed that something was not installed and then uninstalled and "stuff" like folders are getting left behind (a common occurrence from my experience...). I've also seen registry entries left behind. Perhaps looking for crpe32.dll in the c:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86 folder will be best. I've never seen the crpe32.dll orphaned after an uninstall.
Other than that, when you run the app and there is not runtime, you will get an error and you could trap that, possibly launch the installer... naaa - too goofy...

    1) JDeveloper 3.1 is not able to locate sqlj.runtime Ensure that the SQLJ runtime.zip and/or translator.zip file is in the project's CLASSPATH.

This warning is issued if you use Java types that are supported by Oracle's JDBC driver (and thus in the Oracle SQLJ runtime), but that are not JDBC types. You'd only care about this warning if you want to write fully portable code. You can turn of portability warnings in JDeveloper under project properties on the SQLJ tab. On the SQLJ command line you could say: -warn=noportable.

  • Forms & Reports Runtime Package

    Hello,
I have a network of 250+ nodes with client server environment. To enable users to use in-hous developed business applications, it requires to install Forms & Report Runtime on these 250+ PCs which is a tedius job. Is there any utility (like windsows install shield) avaialable that makes a single executable file that installs forms runtime and report runtime on a single click. I also have to carry the entire Developer 6i CD every time I need to install runtime. How to extract only runtime files out of it and make just one single executable?
Any third party tool available in the market, serving the purpose, would also be acceptable.
    Thanx.

I remember a company advertising forms runtime installation creation for windows platform way back when. Google search might help if they are still in business.
One alternative for the client/server deployment to n number of nodes, might be using 6i on a linux/unix box and then distribute it via citrix or Exceed On Demand to the clients. The EOD is a server based product and has a very small footprint on the client machines (windows pc's). I believe it has ~ 200$ per seat price tag, but you can check Hummingbird website for details.
porting your application from 6i to 10gR2 (10.1.2.0.2) or upcoming version 11g might be another good alternative for you given that by utilizing the Webutil functionality in iAS (OAS) forms services, you will be able to read/write on client pc's. If you install the iAS on a single cpu, dual core opteron box (with a term based license, such as 2 or 3 years) - it will server your 200 - 250 users and the price tag will not be too much.
    I hope this proves useful.

You're loading a class from the same package, but from a different JAR, which the sealed package doesn't allow. Find the class that's in a different JAR and best remove it. Classpath shenanigans like re-odering the JARs might help, but not reliably in all envorinments.

  • Packaging AIR runtime with app?

Would it be possible to have an option to package the AIR runtime with the APKs
created through Flash Builder?  Say, a ride-along package that would detect if the
given or higher runtime of AIR is installed, and if not, install it before launching the
    app.
For the foreseeable future (the next year, at least), most new users of any given app
created this way will not already have the AIR runtime on their phone.  This would
spare them having to initiate another download when they thought they were about
to enjoy the product.  (No matter how you disclaim it, many customers are going to
think you can start an app right away after downloading it from the Market, because
this is how practically all non-AIR apps work.)  Waiting for an install is okay if the app
automatically launches afterward: this will not take nearly as long, and (importantly!)
requires no further customer action to actually launch the app.

I'm sure it would possible, but consider that as soon as someone downloads
an AIR Android app, they've already got the runtime, and with notifications
for updates already a common thing, they'll be notified from the Market
whenever there's an app update (runtime or your app).
I think it would be nice as an option, but just today I got an email from
the Android Market explaining important changes to the store, and
specifically they say no .apk larger than 50 mb. So I'd rather not have the
runtime packaged with the app, as that adds to the overall filesize. We
already have to deal with that on iOS devices, since Apple won't let us
download compiled code. So you get an automatic 3-4 mg overhead with all iOS
apps. Luckily there's no real limit on iOS app sizes.
I do agree though it'd be nice to have the install process worked out so the
app prompts for the runtime if needed (as it works now) but have the runtime
know to launch the app again once it's installed.

  • Captive runtime -target bundle does not create the package fails after creating a .tmp folder

    Hi Adobe Team, Experts,
I cannot create a captive runtime package successfully on windows.
This is the command I am using to create a captive runtime package for windows
adt -package -keystore CodeSigning.pfx -storetype pkcs12 -storepass password -target bundle TestPackage Test-app.xml Test.swf
The issue is the above command creates a .tmp directory "adt5072057577475387637.tmp" but does not create a directory by name "TestPackage" .
Another observation is the above command works in-consistently it seems to create the directory sometimes but fails for the most.
Funny enough !! It worked when I was creating a POC but  now when I am trying to release it stops working on me.
It is the same machine I did POC on.
    The application descriptor has
    <supportedProfiles>desktop extendedDesktop</supportedProfiles>
    I have also tried
adt -package -keystore CodeSigning.pfx -storetype pkcs12 -storepass password -target bundle TestPackage.exe Test-app.xml Test.swf
    as mentioned here -  http://www.riaspace.com/2011/08/bundling-air-3-runtime-in-air-desktop-applications/
    Flex SDK version - 4.6.0
    AIR SDK version - 3.1
    JDK version - jdk1.6.0_18
Please advise as to how to fix this issue.

  • Where is the package for the Fortran 95 runtime libraries? (SPROl90sx)

We're developing an application in Fortran 95 using Sun Studio 12 and we're having the hardest time figuring out where the package SPROl90sx is located that is referenced here...
    http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/documentation/ss12/mr/READMEs/runtime.libraries.html
According to that readme there should be a package named SPROl90sx somewhere so that on a client server that we want to install our Fortran application on, we can just install the runtime package SPROl90sx and have everything work as we want rather than take each library independently and put them on the server.
Does anybody know where I can find SPROl90sx?

    Hey Calvin,
So I extracted the tar file from the pkg version of Sun Studio, but in the packages-sparc-S2 directory I get a bunch of directories associaed with the packages, specifically I see SPROl90sx. Now how do I take that directory and actually install it on a client machine to get them up and running? pkgadd? When I download a package from sunfreeware.com they come in a single file that we can then install, but I dont see a single file, I see a directory. • Error load Runtime CR2008 64 bit

    Hello,
We used the client to develop the reports, then we installed the Runtime on an internal server to render the report on our intranet.
Everything worked well since we moved to another server (a 64bit machine), so we had to reinstall CR2008 Runtime again.
But it's seems that is not the correct version of the runtime because, trying to create the report programmatically, an error occurred:
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.
CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.CheckForCrystalReportsRuntime() at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument..cctor()
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.LoadSaveReportException: an error occurred while loading Crystal Reports runtime.
Check rights, install the correct version of Crystal Report (CRRedist*.msi) runtime (x86, x64, Itanium). For more information....
We need the 64bit version of the CR2008. Where can we find it? We tried on your website, but we didn't find anything.
    Regards,
    Teresa

    Hi Teresa,
Merge module not available for 64 bit.
Only work around is we need to use merge module on 32 bit that means,Create setup on 32 bit machine and deploy on 64 bit.
    Hope that helps!!
    Regards,
    Shweta
