CR2008 Unable to open in InfoView (XI 3.1)

Hi,
Am having an issue opening a Crystal Report 2008 using custom SQL via OLE DB to a MSSQL db datasource. The report uses a LOV within the Business View Mgr. We have tried to manually setting the db configuration in CMC but the report's prompt screen does not come up in Infoview (but does work within the designer). We also ran the report dependency checker in the CR client, everything looks and runs fine in the designer client.
Any thoughts or ideas on what could be happening?

Hi Phil,
Try scheduling the List of Values from the Business View Manager. If schedule fails with an error then check its Data Connection and see it points to the right conenction.
The Data Connection would need a DSN or similar connection setup as the designer on the Server machine, so see if its there.

I am currently confused with a crystal report designed via OLAP grid on a BW query and working fine on Crystal designer module on my PC but sending an error when I tried it on INFOVIEW "unable to open OLAP CUBE".
I checked all parameters and database connexions on BO Entreprise CMC : it is OK.
I am on BO XI 3.1 SP 3 entreprise and BW 3.5 or BW 7.0 (both are in concern).
When I tried a simple report on a BW query just drop fields of the query into the report and sending it on Infoview, it is OK.
Just OLAP grid is KO. I do not understand, it is MDX language too ? Somebody can help or faced the same trouble ?

Unable to open connection error

Hi All,
   I have a report that is connecting to two ODBC DSN connections. Using Crystal Reports 2008 it opens fine and generates reports (we did this even on the Crystal Server using CR 2008).
   When we load this report onto the Crystal Reports Server 2008 Server and try to open it using InfoView, it gives a message "Unable to open connection". Does anyone have any ideas to get it to work on the CR Server 2008? It is a very basic report with 2 ODBC connections. The driver for the ODBC connection is installed on the Server and was tested successfully with Crystal Reports just not with Crystal Reports Server 2008.

Unable to open tomcat

I have BOE XI 3.1 with SP2 installed on Windows Server 2008 (64 bit). I have both CMC & Infoview working.
I am trying to open Tomcat Configuration to set up SSO, but it is giving an error message, "Access is denied. Unable to open the service 'BOE120Tomcat'.
I could see Tomcat service running under the windows service manager. Even tried running the Tomcat5.exe from "\Tomcat55\bin" folder, but it didnt openup any window. How to resolve this.
Or is there any other way to add the below two lines in Tomcat to enable SSO.
-Djava.security.auth.login.config=C:\winnt\bscLogin.conf
-Djava.security.krb5.conf=C:\winnt\Krb5.ini

Open up your Start > Run command and type in the following. You might have to change the path to the tomcat5w.exe if not installed to the default C:\ drive. The end is important as it tells which instance of Tomcat to open the config manager for. I don't believe launching the tomcatw.exe directly will work.

The last part of the command is the service name for Tomcat. If you are using Tomcat that was installed with the default XI 3.1 installation, the above should work. If you installed your own instance of Tomcat separately, go into Administrative Tools > Services and open the properties of Tomcat. The Service Name is normally "BOE120Tomcat" but change this part of the command line if yours is named different.

Unable to open a socket to talk to CMS (FWM 01005)

Hi,
I am running the monitoring probes every 15 minutes or so and once in while, the probes return this error message:
Unable to open a socket to talk to CMS (FWM 01005) {/quote}
Can anybody tell me what this error means and what I can do to avoid it?
Or is there a place where I can find definitions of error message in BusinessObjects.

The error message(s) is mainly seen when trying to authenticate a user during login into BusinessObjects Enterprise. The error can be seen under following different actions:
Login to InfoView or
From CCM panel, click on "Manage Servers" and try to login or
Preview a Xcelsius Dashboard based on QaaWS or Live Office connection that is set to refresh on load and try to login in the authentication box that comes up.
Looks like once in a while you have either CMS too busy to answer or some network issues.

I am unable to open my Photoshop program after installing the entire Creative Suite: Premium Production 6. All other programs work, but with Photoshop it says that the program is "locked or in use by another user". I need this fixed immediately.

I am unable to open raw files taken on my Canon Rebel T1i in my version of Photoshop CS3. When I import raw files into Bridge they come up as patches with CR2 on them and when clicked on, a notice comes up stating that Photoshop does not recognize these files. I tried to update my Adobe Camera Raw by downloading version 4.6 from the Adobe Website, but when I clicked on the plus-in, I got another message that Photoshop does not recognize this file. I spoke with a representative from Canon who said that I could not update CS3 and that I should subscribe to the Cloud. I would prefer to use my CS3, if possible. Can anyone advise me what to do?

Purchased in Mexico's Department store Liverpool on June 20th 2012
Purchased Memory upgade to 8Gb, on june 27th, at Apple Store Memorial City, Houston
Upgraded memory from 4Gb to 8Gb on June 28th.
Tried to write on my external HD (previously written on a windows based PC) with no success.
Upon reccomendation from a Mac assistant, copied all my external HD contents into my Mac Hard drive.
Then formatted my external HD and copied back all my information to it.
deleted all the information from my MacBook Pro HD.
Attempted to repeat the same operation with another external HD, but got a message saying there was not enough epace on the computer HD (even though I have a 750Gb Hard Drive.
Looked in the trash bin and there it was, all the information previously deleted..
Could not empty the trash bin, although I got a message asking me to safely delete all the information from the trash bin,
Could not get enough space released, after several attpempts the trash bin was finally emptied.
All happy getting acquainted with my new MacBook Pro. Two days later, got a gray screen and not able to start the computer.
Looking in to Mac support I found article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570 and followed instructions to perform a safe boot:

The menu selection only shows the other options if you already have a selection active; a selection made with one of the available tools like lasso or quick selection. First select with the tools, then use the menu 'Select'.

I upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS7 and I am unable to open iTunes on my phone - the screen just never loads.

I installed iOS7 on my iPhone5 and now I am unable to open iTunes - the screen just stays blank.
I have checked date and time and wifi settings.
Not sure what else to do.

Have you tried logging out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then logging back in ? If it's still the same after that then try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

Unable to open Apple application

Last week, I did the most current software updates. Ever since then, I have been unable to open certain Apple programs such as iChat, Skype, Preview, Pages, Photo Booth, etc. I have tried to download AIM, but the computer says it isn't supported. Also, now when I try to open Photo Booth, it says my graphics card doesn't support it, but I have never changed the card from the one the computer came with. The programs will open up, and then immediately quit, and I am left with "The application _____ quit unexpectedly" message. No matter how many times I relaunch and reset, ignore, or report, I can't get them to open. I'm in college and really have no way to get to a Genius Bar for a few more weeks, and I don't have the Leopard disk with me. Is there any way I can fix this on my own? Thanks!

I think it was the repair disk permission that actually worked for me. I tried it once and got no result, and then tried to download the updater. For whatever reason, I couldn't even download that. So I went back and did the disk permission repair again. It still didn't seem to work, so I just turned the computer off out of frustration. When I turned it back on, it was all fixed. So I'm not entirely sure what it was that fixed it...all I know is it works now!

Error unable to open script file

I have been using DW8 since it came out. I am running Windows 7. Everything was working fine until I had hard drive failure. Replaced hard drive reinstalled Windows and DW8. Now when I try to insert an image I get the message "unable to open java script file c:\program files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\configuration\objects\common\AccessibleImage.js (error 2)".
I have done the usual--rename config file--reinstall DW8--clean register and reinstall--run as admin.--run in compatibility with XP SP2, etc. but nothing works.
Help would be invaluable to me.

i am at the point of installing the Application Server. Domain created sucessfully but i got boot errors as shown below.
I searched for the TUXCONFIG file but could not find it in the tuxedo installation folder.
I read that i have to create the TUXCONFIG,if missing, using tmloadcf.exe and the ubbconfig file, but the only UBBCONFIG file is located in "\samples\atmi\rpcsimp\" folder.
How do i create the TUXCONFIG file?
Did i miss something with the installation? What location should this file exist after your tuxedo installation?

The TUXCONFIG file normally is created automatically when you create your domain.
In this case I think you ran into trouble because the path of installation is too long!
Note the error in your log:

Your path is 69 chars long!
I would suggest that you re-try the configuration with a shorter tuxedo and PS_HOME: perhaps in the root directory (c:\PSHOME)
In the past I've also noticed that installations have problems with paths that have spaces - ex: 'Documents and settings' , so I would avoid that as well.

ERROR: Unable to open structapps file!

Having modified the structapps.fm in FM10, I am getting the following error within a dialog when attempting to use the same file in FM8:
ERROR: Unable to open structapps file! FA_errno -43
Is FM not backward compatible ? OR do I need to reread the file in FM8

The file should be saved in the FM version that you're using it in. You can't use any newer FM version file in any older version of FM, e.g. FM8 can't open any FM10 files (except for the MIF formats).
