Crack in inner LCD screen of iPhone 4 or not?

Yesterday, I suddenly realized that there was a small clump of red, green and black lines appearing on the top left hand corner of my iPhone screen (near to the receptioon signal). When I went to the Apple Service Centre, I was told that there was a crack in the inner LCD screen which led to it. He even pointed that the fine green line is an indication of a cracked LCD and it will only get worse in the long run. However, over yesterday's night and today, this "clump" has started to slowly disappeared and now it is totally gone. I am totally confused? Is it a cracked LCD or some weird problem? Is there anyone who can shed some light on what is going on? Although I'm happy that it is gone and things seems to return to normal.

I think that it would be impossible for anyone on this forum to render an intelligent opinion without seeing your phone.

There is a possibility that your digitizer has malfunctioned. I had a similar problem on my iphone 3gs whereas the lower left part of my screen didnt respond to touch at all. Take your phone to an Apple store and have them fix it for you. I fixed my iphone 3gs' digitizer by replacing it myself because my phone was out of warranty, and there arent any Apple stores nearby. But you should definitely take your phone to Apple store and let them fix it for you, because in order to replace digitizer on iphone 4, you really need to be skillful when it comes to phone repairs,and attemting any repairs yourself voids your warranty. Not so, many of the Apple Stores do in-house LCD's. When my MBA's screen developed a bright spot, I dropped it off and had it back with a new LCD in less than four hours.
Having said that, just because it cracked, doesn't mean they'll fix it for you for free.

LENOVO G550 DC-T4500 Tragedy, Internal crack on LCD screen

Well i am new to this forum and when i was looking for ‘Lenovo customer service’ on Google, i realised that there are many people in the same boat as me.
Well i never imagined this to happen to me, but the fact is it has happened. I purchased a new ‘LENOVO G550 DC-T4500’ which is a new laptop by Lenovo at a very low price. Well i had a low budget and was thinking of getting a small netbook, but then I saw this Lenovo ad at center.com and went and purchased it from them on 11th November 2010. I got the laptop in my office and kept it there for a week. Finally after 7 days i took it home. I did not use it instantly because I had to setup many things like Microsoft office etc and just didn’t get the time to do that. Finally after 7 days I opened it up and installed Microsoft office. I used it for like 2 hours. The next day i opened the laptop and then was trying to set the internet, and after an hour the laptop screen went blank. I did not use it even for 4 complete hours. I gave it back to center.com and they asked me whether i dropped it. Well the fact is i never dropped it. It was used just like for four hours in total. I don’t have kids or pets in my house. I stay with my husband and we both are old enough to handle laptops. Well this crack was not an external crack on the screen but an internal crack on the LCD screen. Now isn’t that weird that there is no crack on the laptop but a cack developed on the LCD screen and they say that it has been dropped. Now i don’t know how to prove that i did not drop the laptop, but the real truth is that i never did anything to the laptop for it to develop that internal crack. When i returned it back to center.com i returned it with complete packing because all this time when the laptop was with me it was packed and i opened it up after 7 days and used it for 4 just hours in total.
Center.com told us that Lenovo has rejected the warranty in this case and gave me a number for lenovo’s customer service department. I called up lenovo’s customer service department for like 4 days. Each time a different person answered the phone and gave me different answers. Some said we are looking into it. Finally they made me go crazy then finally one person called and said the same thing, he is looking into the case. After few days he sent an email and said that they can’t help and the crack cannot develop on its own and if I have to get it repaired I have to pay like almost the same amount as that of the laptop. This is ridiculous, absolutely disappointing.
Well even if Lenovo does not help me i would like to tell all those people who are reading this, buying a laptop from Lenovo and then going through all the pain for no mistake of yours is the worst thing that can ever happen to a customer. And no matter how big this company is, but the fact is that they are not worth it. I pray this does not happen to anyone else. I felt cheated and hurt. I will never ever recommend anyone to buy a laptop from Lenovo.

first let me say that I am in know way implying that you broke your screen but you can crack the LCD screen without causing damage to the case you can set something on it and cause a pressure crack pressure from your fingers can crack it as for internal external it appears to be internal because the clear plastic on the outside does not crack like glass there had to be some kind of force to crack the screen they just don't brake they go out from time to time as in no video but not crack

Can an lcd screen break without the glass breaking?

i dropped my ipod and it worked fine right after an a hour later i tried to use it and it will either come up a white screen or my backround but only for a few seconds then it wont show anything, and the glass isn't cracked. is my lcd screen broken?

My lcd screen have a thin horizontal line

i bought my MCP two weeks ago, and today i was using i movie, and i was doing this render and from one moment to another this thin line appears in my lcd screen, its like gray, im not sure whats wrong? i alfready restart the computer ans it still in there, and its goes through all left to right in my computer the size its like a pixel i think so, can somebody help me?

sounds like a row of dead pixels, you might be able to massage the edge of the screen around the line and get it to start working
also you should be able to call apple and get the screen replaced

I was able to get it into recovery mode, I unconnected it from my Find my iPhone (i couldn't erase that way because I can't connect to WIFI with the screen not working). I clicked restore iPhone from iTunes, but it's been sitting on "Contacting the iPhone software update server..." for over 40 minutes. Should I restart this process or is it supposed to take a really long time? Thanks!

My 3GS LCD screen is cracked.

I dropped my iPhone as I was cleaning it off. The LCD screen is cracked and it now has these dark lines going across. How much is it to replace it? Would it be cheaper since I have an old 3GS screen that is in perfect condition? I don't live near an Apple store (but willing to make a drive if I can get it fixed while I wait) and don't want to send in my phone to get it fixed.

This is COD already. Sorry but the a brutal advice would be to buy a new one. Repairing it is not worth the hassle/time/cash.
Buying a new one is much more of a better option.

LCD Screen cracked down the middle

My Iphone has what I think a broken LCD screen down the middle. It does not let me unlock the phone to get into the main screen because of that crack down the middle. The outside glass is not shattered or anything. I can only answer calls using my headphone devise but not make calls. Does anyone have any suggestions or do you know whether apple can fix it for free under the warranty. I don't recall dropping it. Thanks.

If it was like that from day one then thats was manufactured wrong and take it back to Apple.
If not then they could blame it on you as abuse, you will not be sure until you try..
