Crack in screen, not completely white.

My husband dropped my iPod Touch on a rock. Now the touch screen will not work, and if I press a button to turn it on, I can faintly see my lock screen picture. Mainly it is white from the deep crack that is there, but there are some lines of color. Can I replace the screen or is it worse?

Sinfs like the screen i broken
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours. You can do the exchange at an Apple store are send it to Apple

If you have not done a factory reset on the device, I recommend doing a complete  factory reset.
Factory Reset  - Warning this will reset device back to original factory settings.
This method will not erase any MDN/MIN information
    Turn off the phone
Press Power + Volume Up/Down at the same time and hold until display will show a triage android screen
    Display will show:
    Reboot system Now
    Apply sdcard:update.zip
    Wipe Data/Factory Reset
    Wipe Cache Partition
Use VOL Down key to scroll down to "Wipe Data/Factory Reset", press home icon to select option and wipe device.
Display shows "All user data will be wiped out", press VOLUME Up to continue or VOLUME Down to exit.
    Press Volume Up
Press Home to select "Reset System Now" - device will reboot
If the problem persist I recommend having a store technician take a look at the device.

  • My iMacs screen is completely white with no Apple logo

My iMac chimes but it stays on a complete white screen with a yellow tinge at the bottom that fades about half way, please I have tried all the key strokes but nothing happened

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

  • HELP!! my ipod screen is completly white

My ipod touch 4th generation has gone completly white while being used. Ive tried turning it off and Ive pressed and held the on/off button and the home button, but it wont respond. Ive tried to connect it to ITunes to see if i can fix it from there, but my computer doesnt recognize it. It has been over an hour and I dont know what to do!!!!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I was on facebook and my screen turned completely white and it won't respond to anything. What do I do?

I was on facebook on my iPod touch and the screen suddenly went white and will not respond to anything. What do I do?

    - Try am reset.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next connect to thecoputer and if iTunes ees the iPod restore via iTunes
    - If still white screen, let the battery fully drain. After charging fro an hour try the above again.
For the future, saying yu tried everything provides no useful information.  We do not know what is your "evertything".

  • Help! My MacBook is all of a sudden not working. I can login to my account but as soon as I do that the screen goes completely white. I can change the volume and I have a mouse but that is it. I've tried safe starting my computer and that doesn't work.

Help! My MacBook is all of a sudden not working past the login page. A white screen comes up that I cannot get rid of. I attempted a safe start up and that failed as well. It's a white screen where I have a mouse and when I click the volume buttons I can hear it working but nothing else just white. Please help.

Something you can try is resetting it all Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings. Or go to Settings > Store & sign out & log back in. Another thing you can do is restore your ipod. This has happened to me but the only thing i did was that i created a new account but try doing the things above i just told you. :)

  • Cracked mini screen(not retina display)  how much is replacement screen?

Just dropped iPad mini, severely cracked screen.  Need to know how much a new screen is.

Apple does not replace screens.  Apple will offer you an out of warranty replacement for about 50% of the cost of the device when new.

  • PRINTER DISPLAY SCREEN ALMOST COMPLETELY WHITE (TOO BRIGHT/FADED/?)

I cannot read the images on my printer’s display (Product HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer - N911a). The images are there, but barely discernible. I can't put my finger on whether the screen is too bright or too faint, or the images are too light. The display is NOT blank or black (and the HP Troubleshooting solutions to correct those problems have not corrected my problem, ie Hard Power Reset, updated firmware, and adjusted brightness setting), just too bright or too faint. Even with the screen brightness on the darkest setting, I still cannot make out the images. Interestingly enough, at the end of the day yesterday, the screen self-corrected somehow, and was back to a readable display. However, it reverted back to the problem overnight.

    Hi busymom51 & otcheryl,
I understand that your issue is not the same as the title of the troubleshooting guide listed above: The Touchscreen Does Not Respond, however the troubleshooting steps are the recommended steps to attempt the resolution. If you followed the steps and the issue is not resolved, try again to update the firmware.
If your 8600 is the N911a, try this firmware update: HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a Firmware. The printer will need to be connected to a Windows computer via USB for the firmware update.
If the 8600 is the N911g or N911n, use this update: HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g_n Firmware. The printer will need to be connected to a Windows computer via USB for the firmware update.
If the firmware update does not help the dim display, contacting HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you would be the best option.

  • Nokia Lumia 520 - Screen Cracked, Touch Screen not...

The other day I accidentaly dropped my 520 in the street. The screen has a large thin crack from the top left corner to about the middle right of the screen. I can live with the crack, it's barely noticable, as it looks like a hair on the screen. However, the touch screen doesn't work either, which is quite a problem.
I've looked online and I have seen Screen Digitizers, which I believe are the glass screens which contain the touch technology. However, will I need to order anything else?

i have had my nokia lumia for 6 months and the screen cracked randomly in my coat pocket the other day,
as its touch screen i cannot use it at all.
I went back to carphone warehouse and they said i should contact nokia for help.
He also said the phone isnt a high end phone and doesnt have gorilla glass like the iphones.
I was a bit annoyed to hear that as i had assumed all phones had toughed glass and they recommened I just buy a new phone.
I have found a nokia care point in the area and
"It’s great when things work perfectly.
And it’s good to know you’ve got back up if they don’t.
That’s why we offer our 24 month warranty to everyone with a Nokia handset. It means you can carry on with your life without worrying about your phone.
And if something does go wrong, there’s always help at hand…" this is taken from the website "nokia care centre".
im going to see if they will fix it.
I dont think nokia should be selling them if they break randomly or soo easily.

  • My screen is completely white and i am trying to acess my pitures through itunes and i can because i have personal lock on it. Is there a way i can unlock my phone through itunes??? please help

im just trying to retreive my pictures and download them to my computer, but i need to unlock my phone to do so and the only way that can be done is by unlocjing it through itunes

To import pictures from phone to computer you do not use itunes (you only use itunes to put them back on the iphone). Your computer should recongize the iphone as a camera capable device and allow you to import pictures.
If on a Windows > click start button > click computer > and under computer there should be your iphone listed > right click on it and hit import pictures and videos
    Follow steps in camera wizard
