Suggestion: You should try USA Today app for Z10

If any developer wants to see how an app is done for Z10, they should look at USA Today app, and learn a few things.
Among the terrible applications we see on App World today, this is an excellent demonstration of how apps can be done, and how effective they can be in presenting your company, brand, bussiness to Blackberry users. I always loved USA Today and this takes it up a notch. It's so simple, yet functional.

You do not need any anti-virus software on your phone, unless of course it has been Jailbroken, in which case no body here can help.

Boingo App for Z10

The best way to find out is to do a search in BlackBerry World from your phone. When you search from your phone, only apps that are compatible with your phone will appear.
Many apps are accessible only on certain models and in certain countries and these apps will appear when you search online so that's why it's best to do it from your phone. If it doesn't show up on your phone search, it doesn't exist.
P.S. I did a search on my PC and I found three results for Boingo so there is something out there but please search from your phone.

Apps for Z10

hi i am so disapointed with the new bb10 i have had bb for at leat 5-8 years and have fought there corner against iphone and andriod and waited for the release of bb10 tried the Z10 and was so disapointed there are no apps i use on my old bb 9810 i could acess my bank go on wahtsapp and ebay and many majior retail outlets but with the new bb10 i could get on none of these why ?
is there any plans to add these also it would not sync with my gmail account so i lost all my calander information
am i the only one who feels this ???

New apps are being added everyday, and big name apps. For instance In the past week several major banks (Canada's TD Trust) and Delta Airlines. More and more are coming online this week and next with the US launch.
So, for one, notify the company that doesn't have your specific app, you'd like to see it.

Rogers My Account app for Z10

This app doesn't show any of my usage. Can't tell how much data I've used on my Z10. The only information it shows is how many calls I've made on my plan. Doesn't show how many messages I've sent even though it's supposed to. Is this a Rogers issue or a BlackBerry issue? Is anyone aware of this problem and if so, is an update or fix in the works?

Android app for my Z10

I recently acquired a shutter triggering device made by MIOPS for my Canon 7D MK II camera, but their app is only available on Andriod. I know Blackberry can use some Android apps, do I stand any chance of getting the MIOPS app for my Z10, and if so, can someone help me find the way? Thanks everyone.

no, that's not possible and advisable however, you can consider using Amazon app store (pre-installed app) or downloading third party stores that supports Android and iOS apps.

Epocrates drug app for the Z10

I have the 9900 smartphone with the 7.1 OS. It allows me to use the epocrates app. I am now told on the epocrates website that it will not be available on the Z10. And it isn't available for my playbook. This is a major app for anyone in the medical profession. We need it on us not only in the computer at the office. Why is Blackberry reducing the apps currently available and needed? If I cannot have the epocrates app on the z10, I will not buy it, much as I want to.

BlackBerry is not "at fault" here...the app developers choose what devices they will support and which they will not. BB10 is a revolutionary change from prior BB devices...and apps must be totally re-written to run on BB10. While I've heard that app development for BB10 is actually easier than prior BB models, it nevertheless is a complete re-write that they'd have to undertake.
Each app developer makes their own choice as to what devices they will support. BlackBerry do not restrict app developers from writing their app for BB10...the developer makes that choice.
So, it seems your complaint would be better raised with the epocrates folks...doesn't it? Unless I am misunderstanding?

Required App lock software for z10

Pl provides app lock applications for z10.

Just won't give up, eh? If I were you I'd contact the developers of the app you used on the old BB device and ask them why they don't support the BB10 device. BB isn't going to develop this natively when they already have a password lock feature on the device.

Looking for an app for a credit card reader

Looking for an app to use a credit card reader such as the square register for the Z10. Or any ohter credit card reader.
I've been a faithful Blackberry user for over 6 years, I hope that I don't regret buying this new phone last June. Verizon tried to talk me out of buying a Blackberry. So far I have been dis-appointed in this phone.

Hey guys get ducks in order, I'm a small business owner, I need smooth native apps or built in's that help make money for me, your voice recognition is terrible at best for my Z10, especially when my job relies heavily on making hands free calls to clients, my old 9900 worked well when you had to say numerous commands to adapt to your voice or am I not seeing that this phone does this as well, if so why do I have find it!? As well, I like others are faithful early adapters to BlackBerry, but now, getting impatient as a other devices and OS's are becoming more appealing.
The new Square Card reader is a very good example that you should be working with them aggressively, this simplifying product is excellent for small businesses who provide mobile services, it will explode into adaptation for this sector, do not suggest an android app for use, otherwise I'll make it simpler and just get the android device instead, this solution benefits blackberry how? And if I am the rare one with this sentiment I apologize, but if I representative of a population that matters take it seriously...what do you do with this information? Remember when you start to get a bitter taste, you tend to never again, does blackberry care, show me, do not tell me!
PS/ if you get where the future is going most business are going to move to 2 devices for employees and owner operators that have partial integration, and the only thing that keeps you BlackBerry afloat is the "sense" of security is use, the second device will be for social and leisure...think about it.

Can't open BB Maps app on Z10

Hi guys,
I've had my Z10 for almost 2 weeks now, and absolutely love it (upgraded from 9800 Torch).
A few days ago I wanted to use the maps app for the first time, but when I click on the icon the screen flicks slightly to the right, and the app doesn't open. I have the icon within a folder, and Wisepilot trial installed (this shouldn't make any difference?). As the Maps app comes pre-installed I cannot delete, and re-install.
Has anyone else experienced this, or have any suggestions on how to rectify?

If it were me, I would reinstall the OS. That's all I know at the moment.
EDIT: You might try a security wipe before trying OS reinstall.

Cielo app for accepting credit card payments.

Hi there, I don't even know if this is the right place, but if someone could help....
I'm form Brazil and a BB user for years, was looking for upgrading my 9900 to a Z10/Q10 phone.
My company will start accepting credit card payments using smartphones, but the bank says they only have apps for iOS and Android....Is there anyway an Android app could work on the Z10?

BAR files are apps you can install (side load) to your BB10 device. BAR files are converted (usually by others) from those native to Android and iOS.
DDPB is a PC app that can be used to perform the side-loading process of the BAR file app to your BB10 device.
So, if someone somewhere (you must search the Internet) has created already a BAR file for this Cielo app you want (which you say already exists for Android and iOS), then you can download that BAR file to your PC, install DDPB to your PC, and then use DDPB to install the app (using the BAR file) to your BB10 device.
The process is called side loading. If a developer has not written their app for BB10, then you can still side load it if the above conditions are met (someone has created a BAR file already for the app).

Best BB PB App for TV ?

whats the best app for tv on blackberry playbook ??
because on my android phone i have a TV app called TVCatchup and its really good for watching TV
is there an equivalant for the BB PB?

Really the best way to go is streaming in the browser, since the PB can handle flash. Most of the apps I've come across basically have clickable bookmarks to streaming sites.

I don't know of one. I have a feeling once OS 10.2 is available you'll see apps such as this.
