Cracked iPhone Screen Repair Questions

Hey everyone, I recently dropped my iPhone 3G and was extremely upset to find out the screen had cracked. Luckily, the touch screen still worked, but it made my iPhone very unsightly. I talked to Apple and they offered $200 to fix it. Well forget that, WAY too much. I began to look around the internet for some good places that I could send my iPhone to to get it repaired. I've heard good things about drcellphone.com. Has anyone had experience with them? If not, are there any site that you can recommend to replace my screen for under $100? Thanks.

I actually own a small company that does screen repairs for the Apple iPhone 3G. We keep all of the parts in stock and, if you're mailing in the phone, we fix them all within 24 hours. If you happen to live in the Chicago or Seattle area, you can come in in-person and we'll do the repair for you in about 5-10 minutes. The total cost for the repair is $95 and that includes parts and labor.
Here's the link to the repair:
http://www.jetcitydevices.com/apple-iphone-3g/touchscreen-replacement
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

Hope that helps.

• Cracked iPhone screen repair

I recently accidentally dropped my iPhone and the screen cracked . Has anyone tried to get apple to fix it for free under warranty?

Like most any warranty on most any product, damage is not covered.
Sorry

• Cracked iPhone screen...questions re replacement

Ok Ive had my Verizon iPhone since February...yesterday my worst iPhone fear came true...I dropped my iPhone about 4 ft onto cement in 30 degree weather... Over half the screen was really cracked...I have a 32gb so I think vzw charges a $199 deductible...so I found this shop that replaces cracked iPhone screens...he told me the labor itself would only be about $30-40 but then he looked the part price up in his book up to his iPhone 4 CDMA parts guide & mumbles something like "digitizer" & blah blah then tells me the part would cost $150...I asked him what if I brought him the part would he still did it & just charge for labor...he was very nice and said he would do that.
Then I went online & googled iPhone 4 replacement assemblys & saw them for as low as $25 the I saw some for $55ish but nowhere near $150...is there a legit reason why he would charge this price...is the what an apple OEM screen replacement assembly costs, & I was looking at all non-OEM products? What are the downsides, if any, to replacing the iPhone screen with a non-OEM..are some of the features absent, like the oleophobic coating?
So I guess my question is what does an "iPhone screen replacement" assembly include? Besides the screen itself & a "digitizer" (not sure what that is) and how do I know which ones are trash out there & which ones are good? Would you advise any non-OEM product at all?
Please give me any info you have on screen replacement packages, & possibly where I can purchase one that won't be garbage. Oh & also if it says it is meant for CDMA model...should I assume it is going to be the glossy version?
Thanks!

So if I'm clear here you have thus far paid $109.90 for insurance and after paying another $199, for a total of $308.90 Verizon will replace your iPhone? Or, as has already been noted you can pay $149 at an Apple Store and get a replacement with a 90 day warranty.
I have no idea why in the **** you are paying for that insurance. I would talk to a Verizon rep about it before doing anything.
when you put it that way, yeah verizon is totally screwing everyone who has iphone insurance with them
this is right from verizon wireless website:
soooooooooo laaaammmmeeee.....I love verizon...but this is clearly called "taking advantage of ignorant consumers." When I had a regular ol' phone & even up to my blackberry it was 6.99/mo for the asurion coverage and a $50 deductable if damaged or stolen, which was totally worth it, but this is not that-clearly. gouge gouge gouge....prices ever increasing....& it's only up to the consumer to keep abreast of the price hikes....

• Will my warranty cover a cracked iPhone screen?

I cracked my screen yesterday and I had purchased a warranty before after getting my last iPhone wet, will they replace a cracked screen? I think I paid $50 for the warranty. Also, I can't remember if I would have to pay $50 for a replacement or it was free.

Accidental damage is not covered under the iPhone's standard one year warranty.
If you purchased the new AppleCare extended warranty with your iPhone 4S, it extends the standard one year warranty by an additional year and includes insurance as well for accidental damage with a $50 deductible. This is limited to two claims during the two year period.

• IPhone 6 screen repair question PLEASE HELP

OK so I went to knots berry farm and while riding silver bullet my phone flew out of my pocket and hit the floor lucky this kid found it and returned it
The screen isn't cracked too bad but most of the screen is black like inky spots unresponsive and has different color lines on it
Any idea if apples out of warranty covers this for 109 or how much would I pay for this since its still accidental screen damage???
Please help

"The screen isn't cracked too bad".
Really? I'd hate to see what you though a badly cracked screen looked like. That screen is severely damaged. Be ready to pay the full out-of-warranty cost of $299 USD + tax. It's not uncommon to see a screen damaged that badly that also has internal damage.

i dropped my iphone by accident and its glass screen got cracked.
Since my phone is still under warranty, can the screen be repaired with no charge? or do i have to pay for its replacement? please answer if any of u know the answer thank u!

"Since my phone is still under warranty, can the screen be repaired with no charge? "
No As with any warranty on any product, the warranty does not cover damage.
You would have to buy an out of warranty replacement:
Battery Replacement ServiceIf your iPhone requires service due to the battery’s diminished ability to hold an electrical charge and it is not covered under Apple's warranty, an AppleCare service contract or statutory consumer rights, Apple will service your iPhone for a service fee. • Got my cracked iphone screen replaced and now my phone has a mind of it's own.

It will select anything at everything at random, I'll text somebody and it will type random letters and send. Or The swipe up/down menus will come up/down and stay. I've liked, unliked, unfriended, unfollowed and sent gibberish to several people and it's very irritating. I can still use my phone to text/call people, but I have to fight with my phone in order to do so and have to deal with sending gibberish along with every message I send and even to people I never intended on texting. The only way I can get it to stop what it's doing and let me use it is to shut my screen off and turn it back on but that method still isn't very effective.
Also I sometimes see several vertical lines going down the length of my screen. They don't move or anything but I'm sure it has something to do with why my phone is acting out. And well my question here is what should I do?

If Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider replaced your screen, bring it back to get it fixed again.
If a 3rd party company did the repair, they will have to fix that, Apple will not service phones that have been opened by users or other repair shops.

• What's the process of replacing a cracked iPhone screen?

I dropped my iPhone 4S earlier and was wondering what to do to get the cracked screen replaced and how much I'd have to pay. Thanks

I'm in Australia so have no interest how much it is in America. I've heard from a relative that she took hers into her local apple store and they replaced it for her for free.
Why so rude?
You never mentioned that you were from Australia.
Did you want us to guess?
They will not replace for free.
You can look up the price yourself in Australia.

• Cracked Iphone Screen

So the screen on my Iphone 5c has cracked and i cannot enter my passcode or even use the screen. Will verizon replace my phone or do i have to send it in and get the screen fixed?? (cracked as in there are lines up and down the screen and it doest register your touch to unlock passcode)

Yikes! Walking around with a cracked screen is not good. Allow us to help clarify HannahMay. If you have insurance on your phone, you may file an insurance claim to replace your device. To file claim click, http://bit.ly/07CrqPK If you do not have insurance, you may take the phone to an Apple Store location to replace the screen. Apple does charge to replace the screen. Unfortuntley, we do not have their pricing available.
