Cracked LED inside phone

I had been waiting for ages to receive my first Blackberry and extremely excited! Eventually, I was lucky enough for my hubby to buy me one!  I'd had it for 3 weeks, and loving it, when I was sitting on the couch and my daughter (13) asked if she could use it to BBM her granny. I placed it in it's magnetic cover and handed it to her. It dropped! It landed on the side which was covered by the pouch, and fell all of 40cm onto laminate flooring. When I picked it up, the screen had a white stripe down the right hand side! Even if I switched it off and restarted it, it was still the same!!! I couldn't believe it! I have had Nokia's, Erikson's and Samsung's before and dropped them "coverless" from larger distances onto concrete and they were still fine!!!!  I took the 3week old, immaculate and unscratched phone, to Vodacom in Greenacres Port Elizabeth, and the agent there took one look at it and told me the LED (or LCD) was cracked inside the phone, (not a scratch on the outside by the way), and that there was absolutely nothing they could do! I was just going to have to buy a new one!!!!!!  What?????? Does he really expect me to buy a new Blackberry after this one was soo finicky??? It has been a few months and I am still using this crack piece of rubbish!!! Im unable to access the internet or anything. Its just for making and answering calls! I can use a crappy R99 phone for that! ........ I just can't help thinking that there may have been a problem with the phone from the start, a defect maybe?  Perhaps it had been dropped when shipping or at the shop and it just needed a small bump to further the damage! I am really soo disappointed!  Can anyone suggest anything? Or has this happened to others? Please let me know?

Sorry to hear about the cracked LCD. I dropped my 8900 shortly after getting it also. Just from a couch to the hardwood floor. Not very far at all. Half the screen was white. Did some checking and found a place close by that repairs BB's. They replaced the LCD for $100. I'm in Canada. Lend my BB to a friend recently and he dropped it. Nothing happened. Go figure!! Do a google search for BB repair places in your area. Good luck

  • How do I change the color of the small LED inside a Push Button

One of my colleagues managed to accidentally change the color of the LED inside the Push Button. He didn’t know how he did it and we couldn’t figure out how to change it back. It’s easy enough to replace the Push Button with a fresh copy from the Buttons & Switches pallet but I would like to know how to control this parameter. Does anyone know how to do this?

    Hi Bob,
Could you help us help you?
Please post a VI with the troubling pushbutton so we can see the issue.
If you are talking about the LED shown in the attached jpg,
that color can NOT be changed at run-time. Use the Paintbrush.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

Is the iPhone recognizing your taps?
If it recognizes taps and is showing the disabled message, you'll have to restore the iPhone with the computer it was last synced with or restored as new from another computer.
If it doesn't recognize the taps, it sounds like you need to send it back in for service.

My iPhone 6 screen is cracked and the phone is a little bent, however I purchased my phone in New Jersey but I live in Bermuda (an island). I got the phone in October 2014. Where do I send it to get fixed? And would I be under warranty?

Damages of any kind cause by the user is not under warranty unless you have Apple Care + (plus).
You might need to send your iPhone to a friend who lives in New Jersey for an Out of Warranty replacement. (Not free)
Warranty & services are only valid in country of purchase.

  • Recently cracked my i phone but i have a year warranty does this mean i would need to pay to get it fixed ?

recently cracked my i phone but i have a year warranty does this mean i would still need to pay to get it fixed ?

Yes, it does. The limited warranty doesn't cover accidental damage such as that.

  • I have an iphone 5 and the screen has been cracked. The phone was provided by my service provider less than a year ago. Will apple repair my screen?

I got an iphone 5 a few months back (less than a year) when i signed up to a contract with vodafone. Since then the screen has cracked although the touch ability still works. Is this covered under the warranty and Apple will repair it, or if not how much will they charge to do so?

If you're in the US, some Apple stores can replace the display for $149. If yours can't, you can get the phone replaced for $269.
It is not covered under the warranty.

  • Red LED inside Mac Pro...

So I have this issue with constantly having to unplug my Mac Pro from my UPS and hold the power button to reset it so that it boots up with Bluetooth so I can use my mouse.  I notice that there is a red LED glowing inside the Mac Pro on a card and it doesn't quit even after I unplug the system to reset it.  Is this how I have to keep powering up for the rest of the time I own this 2.8Ghz Quad core?  Seems so annoying.  Anybody know what I'm talking about?  "Do you know of what I speak..."

y'know - I thought my details were under my post, I might be thinking of another forum, but good questions!  I am talking about my 2010 2.8Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" Mac Pro, 8GB (4x2GB) 1066MHz DDR3 ECC memory, 1TB SATA HD, ATI Radeon HD 5770, (driving two Dell 23" UltraSharp 1920x1080 displays via miniDisplayPort to DisplayPort).
I am on Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.8, running FCS2.  I have a hardware RAID card running a CalDigit HDElement, and I shoot on XDCAM EX and 5DmkII in terms of video rpoduction except when I also pull in some ProRes files shot on XDCAM HD and DVCPRO HD.  At work (my full-time) I am on a 3GHz Dual Quad-Core running Snow Leopard and FCS2, and we use a 16TB SAS RAID also with a hardware card all from DAT Optics.  I've been cutting on mac's for almost 20 years or more and very familliar with the side panel, the ram slots, the hardware and the apps.  (not to sound experienced, but just so you know where I'm coming from).
I'm still at work, and my Mac Pro is newer than the one I'm cutting on here at Keystone, so I can't tell you yet what the marking is next to the persistant red LED light, but I will later on tonight or tomorrow.
    Thanks for any help.  -s

  • Cracked back of phone is this common

I went to use my phone today and discovered a crack on the back of my phone running from the flash light to the left hand side of my phone! I haven't dropped it! Only had it since April ! Will they fix it or am I expected to pay!

If your phone is not under warranty, you will pay $199 for an out of waranty replacement.  If your warranty is still in effect, your phone will be examined and if it is determined to be a hardware defect and not user damage it will be replaced without charge.

  • High pitched annoying vibration in receiver speaker inside phone

out of the box my 16g iphone 3g has a very annoying vibration thru the receiver when someone is talking to me. sounds like the speaker is loose or blown anyone else having this problem? It happens even when the speaker is turned to low volume.

Having the exact same problem with my 16GB. I only notice it when the ear volume is more than half way up. It stops if I slide my ear to the very top of the phone but holding it in a comfortable position there is a vibration. It almost sounds like when you crank up the treble on a radio and get a high pitched vibration / cracking.

  • Computer Crashed, Now cracked Screen on Phone, How do I get my songs? Gurus

Ok, heres the deal, have a computer that Windows based I downloaded all my songs over 2000 dollars worth, well that crashed and wouldnt load 3 months ago. In the mean time, I was downloading directly off my 2G Iphone. Well my bro put another harddrive and operating system in. So on my computer I was still able to download Itunes and then Grab that folders from my old hard drive and authorize my new computer. Now I cracked my phone and Im getting a new one. How do I get the songs and apps I bought off my Iphone, so that I have them when I get my new Iphone?
Im going nuts here! THanks to anyone that can help!

With iphone attached, in itunes click File>Transfer Purchases.
This will get your itunes purchased music from iphone to your computer.
The apps should transfer automatically. If not, you should be able to download again for free. You will go through the buy screen, but there should be no charge. You can do a forum search for this as it has been asked and answered before.

  • Crack in display , phone is useless now

Hello, First i want to say that i really love and enjoy sony's products for many years now.  I played and owned a ps 1, 2 and still play on the ps 3 and was thinking of buying a ps 4.I had 2 sony mobile phones almost 20 years ago.  Both were good solid phones.   Then i switched  to nokia phones. My last phone was a nokia n8 wich i had for 4 years without any problems.  Now i thought:  it's time for a new phone why not go back to one of my favorite brands that i thrust a lot. So early may 2015 i bought a z3 compact.   I think it's a great phone, looks good, functions like it should. I'm very happy    Then people start saying when i'm calling to them:  sorrry, didn't hear what you were saying.  When i  turn  my phone just a little away from my mouth they don't understand me.   Ok , no probs i thought, just keep in mind to keep it close. Then when i'm calling on loudspeaker in my car, i can barely make out what people say and just have to quit the call.  My old n 8 did better.  So now i'm getting a bit  . Now a few days ago i take my phone out of my pocket and see that i have a little crack in the left upper corner of my front screen.  Lost use of the quick menu  and couldn't swipe in the upper part of my screen.  I'm thinking maybe i did something wrong.  I'll be xtra carefull now.  Today 8 of august 2015  a good 3 months after i bought  my z3 my front  screen cracked in such a way that i cannot use my screen anymore.  So my phone is death now.   Sony  i thought better of you, i am really disappointed in the low quality phones  that you sell us.  You should think a company with such a good name, could do better.I was so happy with my new phone, i wanted it to last for a few years and then buy the next sony mobile. Now i don't even want to get it fixed, i  think i will just buy a samsung s 5 mini or something like that. cheaper and more thrustworthy ( hope i'm writing this ok, i'm from belgium  ) Really sorry to have to write this mail.   Hope you 've got a solution for everybody who feels like me.Good luck Sony

I'm sorry to hear that but you have to contact your local Xperia care to get it repaired http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/

  • Hairline crack appeared inside screen

I've just noticed a hairline crack at the left side of the screen. There has been no impact of any kind that would have caused this and the damage looks internal rather than external(it's not scratch)and it's not affecting the touch or the colors.

this is a HD shots for the screen, to be easy to investigate in the problem.
