Cracked Screen- How long is garuntee?

I have had my ipod nano since christmas and the screen has just cracked. The ipod still works but i can't see what is on top of the screen, it is just blank. I want to know if apple will replace it and give me a new one?

They said there were a small percentage of Nanos with "defective" screens and those would be replaced. Not all Nano screens were "defective".

A cracked/damaged screen is not covered by the one-year limited warranty (or) the AppleCare Protection Plan. It is considered accidental damage and thus not eligible for a free replacement/service under the terms of either. That being said, your renter's or home owner's insurance might be able to offer service/replacement coverage if personal electronic items are covered. In addition many major credit cards offer additional warranty/coverage options within the first X (it varies) of ownership. You would need to reach out to those specific coverage options yourself, however.

Take it back to the Apple Store you bought it from. They will inspect the unit and determine whether it qualifies for a warranty repair or not.
This is standard procedure.
If they determine it does not qualify for repair (accidental or wilful damage is not covered) you will be quoted repair costs. Thereafter you decide to either bear the cost yourself or claim on your insurance policy, assuming you have one.

No one from Apple here, nor can we get a look at your screen, so your best bet would be to take your machine to your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them look at the machine and give you an estimate for repair.
At that time you'll be able to determine if it's worth it to you to have the screen repaired.

My Ipod was was stepped on and it looks like the LCD screen has cracked. It is partially black. Does anyone know if just the screen can be replaced and what the cost is? It was purchased Dec 2004. I am not sure if it has any extra warrenties

The AppleCare warranty does not cover accidental dmage, as you described. If you have a 3rd party warranty, some of them cover this situation - you should check to be sure. Apple will not repair this damage, and you should check out a 3rd party iPod repair service, www.ipodresq.com, for example.

Cracked screen. how much $ for repair?

I was hanging out w. my friend and my smaller bag was in his bag. my bag had my iPod mini in it, and we did set it down a few times, and sometime between then, the screen must have been accidentally cracked.
the warranty states that it doesn't do those kind of repairs or something, but i'm still willing to pay to get it fixed

I have a nokia 6500 slide. I bought it quite a while ago and I have been using it as it was my favorite phone. Sadly about 3 days ago the screen cracked and its now black and flickering colors. I URGENTLY need to recover the data saved on the phone (not on the simcard nor the mini SD). so I have a notebook with Bluetooth connection but I need to turn on the Bluetooth on the phone somehow. Could someone please provide me with screenshots of the user interface? or guide me with numbers so I can turn on the Bluetooth? I need the messages and contacts saved on the phone!

i forgot: connecting the cable is not an option. the connection for it on the phone broke the first day of use. i was too lazy to send it to repairs sadly.....

If the device was not purchased in the US, an Apple store in the US will not touch it.
