A cracked screen is not really covered by the warranty since it is not due to a manufacturing defect. However, sometimes if you make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store (yu can go to German one) the Genius will replace the iPod at no cost. Otherwise the replacement cost is as specified here:

Connect the old iPod, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click File > Transfer Purchases From
Now connect the new iPod and sync Apps, Music, etc.
As for selling the old one tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings

Is it still possible to downgrade from ios 6 to ios 5.1.1 on my ipod touch 4th gen as of Sept.24? Also, if I use a backup created AFTER updating to ios 6, when I restore/downgrade to ios 5.1.1, does it become ios 6 again because of the version of ios 6 that I created the backup on?
There has never been a legit way to downgrade.
It will always restore to the latest available software. -
My daughter's ipod touch 4th Gen cannot sync over wi-fi and cannot be seen in the devices section of itunes for windows. I have gone through all steps of the troubleshooting guide. All of our other ios devices are wi-fi sync-ing fine. Can anyone help?

This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

try to restore in itunes bye putting in recovey mode turn the ipod off press the home button and plug in the ipod into the computer. an itunes shuld see it in recovery mode and click restore. and that should do the trick.

Regarding the songs problem, Are you always syncing to one computer/iTunes library? If y sync to another computer/iTunes library your iPod will be erased and its contents replaced with what is in the iTunes library of the second computer. -

Can i get all my pictures back on my computer (icloud, itunes, etc.) from my totally smashed (no longer has a screen) iPod touch 4th gen if its locked without going to the apple store? There is absolutely no way to put in my password on my ipod. Its literally in pieces. i have the ipod itself, and the thing underneath it, but no screen, its not like its cracked, its actually gone and i can see the inside of the ipod. I recently misplaced my iPod Touch 4th Gen, I have done this before and have successfully used find my iPhone to locate it. However, there appears to have been some sort of update, and Apple will no longer allow me access to iCloud unless I set it up on a OSX or IOS device, which, has been lost. (I do not have a MAC).
Does anyone know of anyway that I can still use iCloud?

My ipod touch 4th gen's button is broken
my ipod touch 4th gen's home button is broken and I don't know how to fix it. I'm pretty sure it's stuck, since it only works if I press on it really hard. I'm still under warranty, and I would be willing to get it fixed, but all of my stuff is on here. I've bought all of my music, apps, etc directly from the ipod, and since my laptop is broken i don't even have a way of backing it up. Is there anyway i could just get the button replaced, and not have to replace my ipod? Or is there anyway the apple store will back up my ipod for me?

You should be able to redownload a lot of your iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
You man be able to backup to their computer and restore too.
