There is something wrong with my phone. In addition to the cracked screen, the mic & front camera are broken, I can't get cellular data, the screen has been moving by itself (sliding back in front b/t screens, opening apps, calling people). All this happened after I broke the screen. I have done no other damage that I know off.
Can my iPhone be fixed or naw? If so, what exactly do I need get done?

To get pass the passcode lockscreen, recovery mode and restoring should help: iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.

6300 - blanks to white screen and other problems

Okay, it's my first post here. I've had a 6300 for about a year, and lately (in the last 24 hours) it's developed a serious problem. I cannot access text messages at all ("Message storage memory not ready"), nor my gallery. If I turn it on and leave it for a while, even if it's in the middle of something like a call, it will eventually drop to a blank screen from which nothing works (even the power button), or possibly a "please enter time/date" screen which has the same problem of nothing responding. The only way to turn the phone off after this is to remove the battery, but subsequently turning it back on again is difficult, working about 50% of the time (the other 50% being a blank screen).
If a reset is essential, I'd like a way to do so without losing any messages (particularly those sent since the problem started, since I haven't been able to access them yet), but I understand if this is not possible.
I've tried restoring factory settings, but it often reverts to this white screen before that finishes, unfortunately.

I bought an iPhone 4 less than a year ago, then one day the home button randomly stopped working, I bought the warranty so I decided to call in and see what was wrong with it. The girl said that restoring the phone would correct the problem which it did. But it is only a temporary fix, it happens more often now. So I was meaning to call in soon, but the other day my phone fell out of my pocket IN CASE from a foot height and cracked the screen. I nearly threw up. All the years I have had a phone I have never cracked or broken one, strongest screen my ***. Anyway, if I contact them again now will they fix the home button problem? or will they say that the cracked screen is obviously the cause of the home button not working? which it is not!! I don't care about the screen being cracked its not on the actual screen just on the side so its irrelevant to me. Plus I heard it is outrageosly pricey to replace.

Apple, as I said, does not repair your iPhone. All hardware service issues are handled by replacing the unit. So they can't handle the home-button issue without also addressing the issue of the cracked screen, for which they'll almost certainly charge you. But you can make an appointment at an Apple Store or call Apple tech support and plead your case.

Numeric keyboard problems

can anyone help with advice regarding my keyboard problem. Basically, I have tried two different apple keyboards and neither of them will work on the numeric keypad. Does anyone know what is wrong?

If restarting the computer, logging in and out of a user account, trying a second
user account to see if the problem exists computer-wide or only in one account,
does not work, you could see if resetting PRAM/NVRAM or even PMU for that
specific computer may flush the system, should it be a software error.
There is an Apple Hardware Test on the bootable Installer disc DVD which
came with your computer, and perhaps that could spot some error in the
USB or keyboard, but it may not show a subtle issue, such as a bad cord
or one port connector in the computer which may be bent, etc.
User account issues are sometimes responsible for other problems, but there
could be something a bit screwy with the port the computer keyboard is plugged
into; so have you tried a different port? Does that part of the board work if the
computer is started up in SafeBoot?
Does Keyboard Viewer show any activity on the keyboard in that area even
though the input does not show on the screen?
On a portable computer, there is a way to turn off the Numeric Keyboard area,
which is different than a full-size keyboard; you can make it 'ignore input' to
the computer if the correct settings or other keys are selected to do so. And I
wonder if this is possible with a regular full size external keyboard on an iMac.
Some settings in Universal Access in a desktop computer may affect how
the keyboard works; or what may be expected from pressing some keys
may change due to settings accidentally chosen through this panel. A few
can be activated by accident, if some check-boxes were default-chosen.
With the portable computer, it takes a bit more effort to ignore numeric
keyboard, since it is part of the main built-in keyboard. In a desktop
Mac, the keyboard/mouse controls in System Preferences panel offer
a few choices, and Universal Access offers others which can be turned
on or off at times without a conscious effort; given pre-conditions in there.
So, if the software and/or settings in the system are to be ruled out, any
possibility of settings or a damaged OS X need to be weeded out. If
the hardware is known good and that includes the logic board and or
USB ports used to connect the USB standard or pro keyboard to the
Mac are good, then further investigation is required. Patient, tedious.
{If you use a powered USB hub, be sure to have the keyboard directly
plugged into the computer. A mouse can be run from a powered USB
hub, but some hubs don't work or work incorrectly in some cases with
keyboard commands on startup. And having too many things attached
in a string of USB devices (unpowered hubs, etc) can cause a brown-
out or power failure; since USB can only support a limited number of
items attached to the computer's internal powered ports. Be they USB
or FireWire, there is a limit and rules apply; should peripherals be in
a string attached to a computer, so demand won't exceed supply.}

Horror Stories about "Self Cracking" Screens

Hi All!
I'm planning to upgrade from my Xperia P to a Z1 Compact. While reading up on the phone i came across so many posts about Cracking Screens of the Z series of phones including the Z1 Compact, which I was so interested in getting.
Durability is a MUST for me and my Xperia P served me exceptionally well in that department, with some of my mates compare it to the famed Nokia 3310! I never use cases or special screen protectors..... yet with Heat from use and gaming, 3 foot drops, accidentally sleeping on top of it over night, it still works.
My query is simple.
- Are the stories about these "Self Cracking" screens true? Is it also present in the Z3 Compact?
- Does it live up to the Sturdy Reputation which is advertized?
I don't want to buy a phone and then Spend more time Protecting it that acually using it.

you have to search for this case before you replied. yes that's your opinion but when it happens to you this will not be your opinion!! i am not postinng this to know the reason of cracking i already knew it an i already mentioned that there was nothing in my pocket i was sitting in a cafe and i take out and found the screen like this!!!! it will cost me 140 USD for a self cracked screen and it can hapen to me again because its the same screen with the same design flaw. i will not use xperia phones again even if i like i bought i have been using the phone for only 7 months and never dropped it if i droped it i will not post this!!!!!! i posted it because its unusual problem. it only hapened to sony devices and only the z series!!!!

Okay, so a couple days ago I dropped my phone accidentally on concrete and consequently, my screen shattered. I have never cracked my phone screens in the past. I don't even scratch my phone because I am usually very cautious. However I have had to send my phone to Apple before to have my lock button fixed as it stopped working correctly. That is the only problem I have with my iPhone 5. My mom has an iPhone 5c that she got in i believe, January of 2014. I brought up my dilemma with her and she suggested that it might cost too much to have the screen fixed since I don't have insurance. I can't figure out how much it would be to have my phone fixed anyway. I need more space and I received this phone December of 2012 so I am almost available for an upgrade this coming December. I would wait to do my upgrade because I kind of want the iPhone 6 however that would mean a month and a half or so of waiting to get a new phone and of having a phone with a cracked screen which is not ideal. My mom suggested that we go to AT&T and talk to them about her getting an iPhone 6 because she also wants one, and then I would just get her iPhone 5c. So my problem is, should I wait until December to get the iPhone 6 with more storage that I desperately need, or get her phone that is newer than mine, has more storage, and is in great condition? The only problems I have with the 5c's are that it does not have the touch feature to unlock the phone and my friend has one and says her screen tries "popping out" of the plastic color. So i thought I would take a look at my moms and hers does the same thing. That concerns me because what if the screen happens to pop out of some sorts? What should I do!!

It sounds like your mom is already due for an upgrade, while you have to wait till December. Your mother has a perfectly good solution to tide you over till you can get an iPhone 6 as well.
you only have to live with the 5c for a short time. Stick a good case on it so the screen can't pop out and be good to it till you can upgrade.

If yu can't turn it off, then let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try again.
If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and service is required.

Lenovo laptop G505s cracked screen

I wonder if anyone has the same problem as me. I have had the above laptop for a few months only, I have handled it with care, no drops or bumps, and the screen just cracked for no apparent reason. I took it back to John Lewis where I bought it and they said cracked screens arent covered under manufacturers warranty, it will cost me £200 and above. I am really disapointed as I have not damaged it. It seems to me that there is a lot of flex in the screen which puts pressure on the screen. I think that maybe this laptop is not fit for purpose. i bought it i was advised it was durable, thats a laugh! I can see others have had similar problems with the YOGA. The laptop sits on a desk by a window, it is not taken out and about. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

The price in my middle class American eyes is high, but not out of line with the rest of the industry or the prices paid to service your motor vehicle. Either they really don't want your business so price it accordingly or their bean counters have determined that this is the price required for hire someone, train them to perform a limited number of specialized repairs , parts, and profit. That is why they sell extended warranty.
