Cracked screen on HTC droid DNA phone,

Does anyone know if there is anyway to get any satisfaction from Verizon. They will not replace the phone because i did not purchase the insurance. I have called several time but they refuse to do anything. Plug stuck in the phone when I pulled it the phone flew to the floor cracking the screen.

    Hi judyp42,
I am sorry to see that your phone has a cracked screen. While we are prompt to replace phones within the 12 month manufacturer warranty period when a manufacturer defect is detected, we are not able to provide free replacement for damaged devices, as physical and water damage voids manufacturer's warranty. Since you do not have insurance on your device, I recommend reviewing our Certified PreOwned Replacement program http://bit.ly/KNnblU for option to purchase a replacement phone at a discounted price.

  • Buying a contract free phone from Verizon (HTC DROID DNA)

    Hi,
I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, but I cannot find answer to this question. I live in Europe (Croatia) but in a month I'l visit NYC. While I'm there my plan was to buy HTC DROID DNA from Verizon as a contract free phone. As it is a Global Network phone will it work with my own network carrier and sim card back in Europe?
    Thanks in advance

The DNA will work on the following GSM/UMTS network frequencies (per the DNA info page), if your carrier uses one of these you should be good.
    Global Network: GSM (850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, 1900MHz), UMTS (850MHz,
    900MHz, 1900MHz, 2100MHz)
    Good luck.

  • HTC Droid DNA issues after update to 4.2.2 (Software Version 3.06.605.4)

Since updating my HTC Droid DNA to 4.2.2 last month, I have several recurring issues:
The camera crashes (not every time, but often enough that it's VERY annoying) when taking HDR pictures (normal ones are OK)
After a reboot, the keyboard reverts to the Google default, instead of my choice of SwiftKey
On the plus side, battery life appears to be improved.
Is anyone else having these problems?  Any suggestions on how to debug/get them resolved?
      - R

The 4.2.2 OTA update for our phone is garbage. I broke my DNA took it back to best buy once i recived the new one i Stupidly downloaded the update.

  • HTC Droid DNA - How to enable Call Forwarding in GSM mode in International Network

    Hi,
I have bought HTC Droid DNA (Verizon) from ebay in India and I am able to use any 2G or 3G GSM network as it not locked by Verizon  however there is no option to enable CALL Forwarding in phone settings.
Please help me and let me know how to enable call forwarding in HTC Droid DNA in GSM mode,

I don't think you can, call forwarding is enabled by Verizon here in the states.  Maybe check with your carrier?

  • Wi-fi keeps dropping on my new HTC DROID DNA

Just got the HTC Droid DNA on launch date. The phone is really good but one nagging thing i noticed was that the wi-fi keeps dropping. My wife got an SG3 and it works just fine along with the Nexus 7, Ipad2, ipod and a pc on the same wi-fi connection.
Also sometimes the wi-fi is connected and the phone doesn't register an internet connection. Too much trouble to keep toggling wi-fi to get it to work. Has anyone else been having the same issue?

I have the same exact problem. There's another thread about this as well:
    https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/788277
We haven't been able to find a fix, but it sounds very similar to the problem they had with the HTC One X back in June:
    http://androidcommunity.com/htc-one-x-wi-fi-problems-confirmed-as-hardware-issue-says-htc-20120618/
Not saying that it is for sure, but with the HTC One X it was ultimately a hardware problem, which means we'd have to turn our brand new phones back in. Very disappointing.

  • HTC Droid DNA OTA updates

    Hi
I bought an HTC Droid DNA about a year ago on ebay.
I'm unable to get the OTA updates, since I live in Israel and don't have a Verizon sim.
I've tried contacting HTC, but no solution was given.
Is there anyway I could get the updates?!
    Thanks

There might be a way to manually install the update, but you will have to check for it on HTC's website.

  • Cracked screen voids warranty for a phone with no signal from day 1?

My husband's Samsung Galaxy Nexus has always had poor signal.  We can hold his phone right next to my Droid 4 and I'll have 4G with 4 bars of signal and he'll have only 1 maybe 2 bars of signal, no 4G or even 3G. He can't even pick up the WiFi in our house!  In addition, there are times I call him and his phone never rings.  He drops calls all of the time.  While the OS and apps work great, this phone does not work as a PHONE.
So he took it to our local Verizon store and they said it probably has a faulty antenna and that is a warranty item.  Awesome news!  But wait, here's the $300 catch.  Even though the phone has not operated properly since purchasing it in April, the warranty is voided due to a crack on the screen.  A crack that mysteriously appeared there on day 4 of ownership, while never having been dropped or abused.  Oh, did I mention this was a pre-owned phone?  According to Verizon, some lady owned it for a day and decided she wanted to go back to her "dumb"phone.  Maybe that's because this phone doesn't work as a phone!!!  At this point we wish we could go back to our old Casio G'Zone dumb phone.  At least it could send and receive calls.
So, can Verizon/Samsung really walk away from any responsibility to provide a working phone because the screen is cracked?  We don't want them to fix the screen.  We can live with a cracked screen.  We just want the antenna problem that it's had from the beginning fixed!  Any ideas for a way around this problem?

I'm very sorry that this happened but you can get your phone screen replaced by a local phone repair shop, or you can DIY with the phone repair kit which I would not recommend because if you break it, only you are responsible for it but it is an option .
I know the sheer irony of Verizon warranty not covering cracked screens, when that's the basic thing that everybody is going to need but hey I guess that's the way it has to be, may be they'll change it.
My phone alike many other people with the Galaxy S3 having crashes, restarts, and freezes happening everyday was unable to be replaced because of the cracked screen.
I really like the options that Verizon offers but to be honest I've only encountered one kind person on the customer representative line, and that was the person who let me know about the warranty situation and also the reason I am still with Verizon. Seems like there's an underlying unkindness in their texts and speech. but that's unrelated. Hope you get your phone screen replaced, have a nice day!

  • How does HTC Droid recognize phone extension?

I recently traded in my old Blackberry for an HTC Droid Incredible 2 and am using DejaOffice App to manage contacts, calendars, etc. I use Companion Link Express as an add-in to sync between Sage ACT 2010 contact database and DejaOffice as prescribed by the professional.  Scared yet?  The problem is the Droid phone does note recognizes the default phone extension symbol (semicolon symbol and sees the number as an international call. I spoke to DejaOffice tech support and they tell me to contact Verizon to ask them what symbol my Droid uses to recognize extension number.   Thanks, atmdad

I appreciate your inquiry. I would suggest trying a comma. A lot of Android phones use a comma for extensions.

  • Htc Droid dna Contact trouble

Ok so my htc droid dan has some serious issues but last night the device completely reset everything. I lost all my contacts, and I'm not sure how to get them back when i go to backup assistant plus is doesn't work and i though i had them saved on my google account but clearly i didn't. i need to get them back anyway i can! please help.

Koondog, I am so sorry to hear that your device has reset itself! That's so inconvenient to have to unexpectedly try to piece your information together again! To try Backup Assistant again, follow these instructions to clear the app. http://vz.to/1izKXrw
My recommendation would be to clear the cache and clear data both on the Backup Assistant app, and also the app labeled Sync Service if available. Restart your phone, and try the backup again.
Please let us know if this helped to retrieve your contacts!
    Thank you,

  • I cant figure out why my HTC Droid DNA is no longer recognized by my computer when i hook it up with the USB cable that came with the phone.

I used to be able to just plug in my phone with the USB cable to my Windows 7 computer and browse phone storage with no issues. Now my computer sees it as an android phone but when it tries to automatically install the drivers for my phone on the computer, i get an access denied error message. No option on the phone that i can see that allows me to mount phone as a usb drive. This used to work just fine with nothing more than just hooking up the cable. What gives??

Let's get that access granted again, e_rock_b. The HTC DNA doesn't have a special USB Mass Storage Mode that needs to be turned on. Usually, it's as simple as connecting and browsing http://vz.to/1jktbZD as you mentioned. If your computer is no longer allowing that easy access, try the steps at http://vz.to/1jktvr6.

  • Is a cracked screen and back of the phone included in the 1 year free warranty?

Trapped my phone in a door and the front and back is all cracked, only got it in december and it isnt insured. Just wondering if repairing the screen is included in the 1 year free warranty you get from apple when you get the phone.

Best option if you do want it replaced is head to an Apple Retail Store. Instore they will do on the spot repair/replacement, and you'll be charged.
$249AUD ($199USD) will be a full phone replacement where they will issue you with a replacement unit (so you'd NEED to backup all your data first)
Or if possible they may just replace the glass (depending on the damage) at a cheaper cost that they will quote on the spot.

  • HTC Droid DNA

    Dear all,
I've read this phone comes with  the possibility to insert a sim card?
    Is this correct?
If so, will I be able to buy this phone and use it in Europe (Belgium).
In other words, do they come unlocked?
    That's all :-)
    Thanx in advance!
    Regards
    Steven

Ralph i'd say were your @ is probably about as good of a place as Any ((  I seen some Discussion in Android on the DNA that would be a good place as Well.  But as for Thread of it's Own i don't think one has been set up Yet.!  And with the new HTC 1 that's supposed to be on it's way to Verizon and eventually here the DNA might end up Not having a Spot of it's Own.. But then again the forum might decide to combine the DNA's  and  HTC 1's threads together we'll just have to wait and see..
And..  Welcome to the Forum  b33

  • I have a question about my htc droid dna

so i have had it for about a month and love it. but i am very confused on the preferred network setting.. I have no clue what it should be set on should it be on the global setting or should it be lte/cdma or gsm/umts . i have no clue what any of that means please someone help me lol.. thanks.

I've heard there a Good phone: But as on the Setting i have a Razr Maxx and on mine i have it set on LTE / CDMA as i don't plane to travel out of the Country and on your DNA you can set it to the Setting that i have my Maxx set on.. It just helps it Look for the 4G towers a little easier.. If you travel out of the States frequently you might want to keep the setting were it's at but if not you'll be Ok to set it were i Mentioned. One thing i would do once you have the setting changed soft reset the phone as it will help the phone get acquainted to the Setting.
Got any more Question on your DNA just Let me Know ~  b33
