Cracking sound using Chrome

I recently bought a Macbook Air and I am experiencing a weird behaviour. When playing videos on YouTube (or others) and music from Grooveshark and others using Chrome (latest version 29) there is a cracking sound. It seems like speakers are broken, like an old tv. But if I play the same videos or sound using Safari, Opera or Firefox there is no cracking sound.
Any ideas?
Thank you

Considering many other problems reported with Chrome, Chrome and Mac OS's seem to have a bad fit.  The solution is not to use Chrome.
Ciao.

  • [SOLVED] Crackly sound in Chrome

    Hello,
I recently installed Chrome from AUR, and it works great, except one thing. Flash sound is very distorted, as if it goes to clipping. I upgraded stable outdated version to developer preview, and the problem remains. Any help appreciated.

Does flash does the same on any other browser.. like firefox, etc.
Which arch are you  using? 32 bit, or 64 bit.
Also, take a look here and see if it helps: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=104446

  • No sound on web videos like YouTube, Yahoo, etc but sound on them using Chrome. Sound works in Win Vista Home 32 bit and in media players. Just no audio using Firefox 4.0 Unninsdtalled and re installed Adobe Flash 10.2.513.1

No sound on web videos but sound if I download them and then play them using any media player ( I use VLC 1.1.2) MP3s play fine.
Audio fine on same videos using Chrome. Sound fine on Win Vista Home 32 bit No audio using Firefox 4. Adobe Flash 10.2.153.1
Have un installed and reinstalled it rebooting each time. Same Videos play fine in Chrome so problem must be in Firefox/flash combination.

  • External Usb Audio Card Popping and Cracking sound with Satellite L500

    Greetings,
My name is Boyan and I am from Bulgaria and about an year ago I've bought a satellite laptop from the l500 series ( i can not state which exactly is the model at the moment because my computer is not currently with me and on my user manual the only thing which is stated is that it is for L500/L505/ L500D / L505D . But by memory I think it was the Satellite L500D-ST5506 which is currently not at my dispossal because I gave it for repair for the same problem which I will state down below)
The problem with my laptop is that when I plug a Usb Audio card in my laptop I have a cracking sound when live sound is played trough the speakers/headphones from the external card. I've tried numerous audio cards and speakers/headpohnes which work perfectly fine with other computer, including laptops but the same problem keeps on showing up in the headphones/speakers of my laptop when I am using an external audio card to connect them to the laptop.
The problem is prominent only when the sound signal passes trough an external audio card and it is very annyoing since I use my laptop to create music and i've bought an expenssive audio card and speakers which can not be used with the laptop. I've tried 3 models of audio cards:
    M-Audio Fast Track Pro
    Behringer uca 222
and a simple external 3d sound usb audio card and the problem still appears.
At first I thought that the problem should be software and I should install new drivers although windows 7 automaticaly recognizes and intalls the drivers for the devices and I have sound in them (but with cracks and popps) so i tried using the official drivers sold to me with the audio cards but with no luck: The problem was still there. I tried finding new drivers of the audio cards on the official distributors websited and i've downloaded them but the problem was still there. Then i tried to delete every audio driver on my computer and just use the external audio card for sound but this dint help eighter. I've updated my drivers for my build-in audio card as well but again - no luck.
After that.the frist thing I did when (2 weeks after i bought the laptop) was to contact the store from which i bought my audio card and they stated that the problem may be eighter latency or high voltage from the laptop so they adviced me to try to lower the latency from the settings or to try and see if the problem remains if my laptop is only running on battery. I've tried both things and they didn't help. The audio cards worked without a problem on every other computer I've tried them on except mine. So they said to me that the problem couldnt possibly be from the audio cards .
What I did next was I gave my laptop to the official distributor of toshiba in my country so they can fix my problem. What they said to me was that the problem is caused from the version of windows which was pre-installed on my laptop and that it wasnt compitable with the audio cards (which was bizzar sounding because I've tried them on the same windows and they've worked, just on other computers). So I got back my laptop and changed my operating sistem from Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit to Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64bit to Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 32bit and on all of those versions the problem was there: whenever I activate a Usb Audio Card and audio signal passes trough it I heard cracks and popps. I even tried isntalling Windows XP but the laptop wants spesific SATA drivers for the installation of Windows XP which although i did find - they didnt help me install XP and I didn't want to go in to the BIOS of the computer to try to put a new one and so on because I am not so sure about that and I could lose my warranty so I said to the official repair store for Toshiba in my town to put XP on my computer to fix the problem but they can't because they are not liscened to operate with software which doesn't have a recipt for its purchase ( which i didnt because i bought my windows xp long ago and i've lost the recipt)
I gave it for repair for the second time telling them that the change of my operating system did not solve my problem and what they did was they changed the whole motherboard on my computer, stating that the build in realtek audio device on my computer is not good enough to support an usb audio card or it maybe broken and they have to change the whole motherboard because the build in card is glued to it, so they did that but my problem wasn't solved. They told me that although I am using and external usb audio card the signal still passes trough my internal one and I have to disable it so i tried disabling it trough the control panel but this did not solve the problem and i do not have an option from BIOS to disable my build-in audio card. Another thing which I thought maybe causing the problem is that the two audio cards aren't working on the same bit rate and Hertz so I set both cards to 16 bit 48000hz DVD Quality (Also tried other options on the 3 cards i have) but...the same thing happend.
They told me that this is just my luck and that the build in audio card doesn't support this external audio cards and I should had been more careful when choosing my laptop at first.
I couldn't accept this awnser for several reasons:
    1) This audio cards work on lower version of windows and are supported by much older models of Realtek and much older computers (one of them was bought 2000!!!!! and my laptop is from 2010!!)
    2) The guys who were fixing the problem apperantley didn't go in so deep in to my problem because they didn't know what actually the problem was they just knew that there is a problem with the audio card and the computer interacting with eachother, they didnt know that there is cracking during live play from the external audio card.
    3) I can not accept the fact that Toshiba is manufacturing models with chipset audio cards which can not support a simple external Usb Audio Card. This is totally unacceptable for me and I truly hope this is not the case!
4)They didn't try my audiocards on an other laptop from the same series stating that they do not have one at their dispossal at the moment so I will go tomorrow to a local store and try the audio cards by my self on the same computer in the store.
What I did now was I gave back my laptop for repair asking for a statement of the problem in wrtting with all details of the problem so I can go to court or ask for a new laptop but I will be charged with some money because according to them there is no problem in the laptop and the problem is that my external audio cards arent compitable with the build in internal chipset audio card. If I give my laptop for repair and there is no hardware problem I will have to pay some money. I will do this but I am now mad, since this will not solve my problem and I am loosing time and money.
What I am asking here is, if you can not help me solve my problem and advice me what to do to fix it, please provide me the details of the chipset build in audiocard on my motherboard, so i can investigate if it is compitable with my external audio cards and contact the audio card dealers to ask them for their opinion. Or if you can tell me with what it is compitable with and with what not, it would be great. I personally think that this laptop should have no problems at all with running a simple external usb audio card but I am asking you, if you know something more about that.
If the problem is from the build in chipset then Toshiba is manufacturing (or at least selling) audiocards which aren't at a normal standart but sadly I cant do nothing about it except complain to Toshiba and never deal whith such productgs anymore. In the other case if this is not true, then my laptop has a problem which is different and I will have to go to court with the repair mans for not fixing my laptop or not giving a new one when I have warranty which will not be Toshiba's fault and It will in a way solve my problem.
I hope you understand how Important this is for me and I hope I resolve the problem as soon as possible.
    P.S
I would like to state that I am well aware of the grammar mistakes I have made in the text below and I would like to ask for your apologies as I am not a native English language speaker.

hi i just like to say i had a similar fault though i would be surprised if it causing yours, but you never know,my fault was my laptop lid, [9 months old] it contains the mic ,and when the lid was in a certain angle crackles could be heard worse when i had my external sound card in, it was a faulty membrane [ lid to body] easily missed by engineer because it was the same angle all the time it happened, good luck, PS you English is very good

  • Printing to PDF using Chrome, and then save as a Word doc.

I want to print a webpage using Chrome to PDF, and then save that PDF to a Word document.
The problem is occurring when saving the PDF to a Word doc, as the Word document is blank.
Im using Adobe Acrobat X, Chrome version 32.0.1700.107 m.
(This question may seem a little strange/pointless, however current workflows within my workplace requires documents to be saved from online as PDFs, sent as PDFs, and staff then either save as PDFs or some convert the files to word documents as necessary)
I can already do this using Firefox, but saving to PDF using Chrome is significantly faster.

I'm sure you're aware that here you have an Acrobat user-2-user forum. Note a generic Q&A forum for non-Adobe products that, coincidentally, can create PDF.
The quality of Export from Acrobat or Adobe's online subscription services very much depends upon the "inner quality" of how the PDF was created.
    GIGO is very much operative.
Good In Good Out -- Garbage In Garbage Out. Sounds like you have the later.
Regardless what is making the PDF is not Acrobat. Consequently "process support" would be with the software house that is responsible for the process.
    Be well...

  • MBP started making a cracking sound

My MacBook Pro 2010 started making a "crack" sound every 10 seconds or so... Like when you connect an audio device, it stops when the volume is off or when the speakers are being used.
In my opinion something is failing on the motherboard, such as a solded connection which is weared out or something...
If anyone has had this problem, please leave a comment ^^ Ill take my Mac to the Apple Store next Monday.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
Please check if the External works fine ? if no this is not really a speaker issue. if yes, it could be faulty speaker or the loose cable etc...
if you wish to open the PC, you may follow steps to download manual and follow removal and rexifing procedure.
Please visit www.hp.com/in and select suport & drivers>Product support and Troubleshooting> type the the complete model of your PC such as dv6-6102tx dv6-3145tx etc... select your computer model (if listed), or select the CTO(such as dv6-6100 CTO) model(which works for whole series) now select the manuals. you have the list of manuals for your PC. download maintenance and service guide.
hope it helps, Good Luck !!!

  • Rattling speakers - only when using chrome.

I brought a new 2013 MacBook air today, and I'm having a weird issue with the sound. There's a slight rattling/static noise, but only when I'm using Chrome. It's fine in Safari, iTunes, and Quicktime.
I could just not use Chrome, but I'd miss it terribly.

A new Mac comes with 90 days of free tech support from AppleCare.
    AppleCare: 1-800-275-2273
Call AppleCare. May be they can help you.
Use Safari until the problem is solved.
But you have to dowlload, install and enable Flash Player to view videos.
    Best.

  • Loud "crack" sound from 2006 MBP, now will not charge from Magsafe PS

While using my 2006 MBP 2.33 C2D , there was a sudden loud "crack" / "pop" sound. I then noticed that the green charging light on the magsafe power adaptor had gone out. So i checked the mains socket, and everything there was OK. I then tried plugging the Magasfe adaptor into different power sockets, and still nothing.
I also tried the MBP with a spare magsafe adaptor i have, and that also fails to light the green light on the side to show any charge/power.
At the moment the MBP still works but is running off whats left on the battery charge.
So i'm guessing the "crack" sound I heard was some interal fusein the MBP  blowing?
Any ideas? Could it be serious and an easy fix?  In the past I have changed the HD, optical drive etc so am fairly ok at a bit of DIY on the MBP.

With the light on the Magsafe charger being out, I tend to suspect it rather then the MBP.
You might take the Magsafe charger to the Apple Store and see if they can test it for you. If it is bad, buy a new one. If not, then it would have to be the MBP.

  • Crackly Sound on L755 Laptop, no headphone jack output

    I have a L755 - S5366 laptop.   Windows 7 Home Premium.
Crackly sound comes from onboard speakers when using internet explorer or any of the "TEST" functions located in the Sound properties dialog boxes.  When playing YouTube, no sound at all.  Under all of these circumstances, there is no sound at all through the headphone jack.  Clicking the volume control, the little graphic that looks like an equalizer, shows sound being processed.   System shows all sound related devices and drivers to be enabled and working.
I have tried resetting BIOS settings back to factory defaults, restored windows to an earlier known working state, downloaded the most recent CONEXTANT audio driver from the Toshiba website.  Same symptoms persist.
Any other ideas of what to try, or am I looking at a costly hardware fix ?
I should mention, my daughter spilled a tiny amount of water on the laptop and it hit in the area of one of the speakers.  The laptop was immediately powered down, battery removed and placed upside down in a tent-like position to dry it out.
    Thanks in advance ....

You've tried everything I would normally suggest. If you're sure it was working at the time the restore point was made, then it does sound like hardware failure. You could know for sure by performing a full system recovery. If the problem persists a system recovery, it requires servicing.

  • Internal soundcard - Logic 8 - cracking sound/stop/reboot/go

I'm having issues with the built in sound card of my Macbook Pro C2D 2.2. It happens more often lately. In Logic with just a few midi tracks and one simple loop sometimes I hear a strange cracking sound coming mainly from the left side of my MBP and the sound stops. Logic keeps on playing but the internal sound just overloads. It's not that overload message. I can reboot the soundcard by making changes in the logic preferences, I click apply and I hear that cracking sound again - the built in sound works for a couple of minutes and then goes nuts again. Restarting OS X doesn't help. It is frustrating. I don't use the internal sound a lot with Logic, but I want to be ale to do so. If anyone can help on this one, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

I forgot to mention that changing the buffer size doesn't help...

  • Pixelation problems occurs in my videos when using adobe flash but using chromes pepper flash no problemes so its definitely adobe problems on my WIndows 8.1

pixelation problems occurs in my videos when using adobe flash but using chromes pepper flash no problemes so its definitely adobe problems on my WIndows 8.1

    Problem is:
Flash Player for IE11 (which is the worst browser ever developed - BAR NONE) is a Microsoft product, when it comes right down to it.
Adobe writes the base code and yes, they do collaborate on updates for it, but the gang in Redmond alter the plug-in and add "proprietary" code before embedding it, and at that point it's "their baby".
There are two (2) registry keys - 1 for 32 bit IE and the other for 64 bit IE, as well as a KB patch that prevent all but the most experienced Windows users from ever touching the Flash Player plug-in for IE. So there's NO WAY you could have done a clean install of the ActiveX plug-in in Windows 8. Unless you're an uber-geek, you can only update it through Windows Update.
WIn 8 is an abomination and IE11 made it worse. IE has always been the "problem child" of browsers, failing to handle CSS, Javascript, some PHP and most design "tweaks" that good webmasters can use with other browsers, trouble free.
I have IE8 on XP, 9 on VIsta, 11 on 7, 10 on 8 and 11 on 8.1... but they're all for testing only. I'd have to be out of my mind to ever think of using IE as my primary browser. ActiveX controls have to be disabled formost stuff and that opens millions of security holes in IE.
You've got a good video card and a decent sound card. It's a shame to waste them on a pile of garbage like IE, just because it came with Windows.

  • Why don't I have sound in Chrome?

I have sound on the computer, in Firefox, and in Safari.  Until this morning, I had sound in Chrome.  All of a sudden, nothing.  Any ideas?

As I don't use Chrome (and have no intention of doing so ), I cannot test the issue.
I have never experienced (or heard of) a single application not having sound.
I suppose you might delete Chrome and then reinstall it. There is probably a preference file as well, but I don't suggest deleting things from applications I do not run myself.

  • Iphone 4 cracking sound when calling someone.

History - I've been having issues with iPhone4 ever since I got it on the 24th june. First the visual voice mail didn't work for the longest time. I did everything apple and at&t asked me to do and reset the phone and network settings. Finally I had to reset it as a new phone and couldn't use any back up. I did this a week back.
I answered a call today afternoon and there was a cracking sound. The other person couldn't hear me and i couldn't hear them. I restarted my phone twice and I could hear them clearly. But they still couldn't hear me. I tried using earphones and the mic and they still couldn't hear me. My mic works fine since I can record just perfect and when I connect the earphones I can listen to music and hear the typing as well. Everything except when I call someone. Sometimes after restarting my phone it works. (like once in 5 times).
    WHAT DO I DO
I realized I hadn't answered any calls for 40 hrs. And I'm pretty sure I didn't drop it. Plus it is well protected with a case. But I'm still pretty sure I didn't drop it.
    Any suggestions ??
    It has 4.1 installed.

Do you know what might be the reason ?
cuz somehow they always have reasons why not to replace it n' why it's not in warranty anymore

  • NEW MacBook Pro Retina cracking sound problem

I recently bought a MacBook Pro Retina after using a MacBook Pro for a year.  From Day One my MacBook Pro Retina makes a cracking sound from the body on the right side. not acceptable from such a expensive machine. Apple would not replace it! Now I don't know what to expect, but I never expected this. Laptops worth 400bucks are not this cracky. After browsing through i see im not the only one with this problem. The local apple service center said they have checked it everything is fine and it is not damaged, it was a manufacturers defect. Why should I be the victim here?

Resetting the NVRAM/PRAM didn't work. The crackling sound is especially bad around the 4:00 mark in the following Killzone Shadow Fall preview:
    http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/20/watch-the-ps4s-killzone-shadow-fall-shared-di rect-from-the-con/
Several songs in the iTunes store, when previewing, also have the same crackling issue.
I'm just glad it's not crackling for every single video or song, at the very least.
