Crackles with phonecalls ?

The person I'm calling can't hear me, but crackles.

nope. no luck, but merci beaucoup. here's something you may enjoy:
On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart of Paris early in the morning . The film was limited for technical reasons to 10 minutes; the course was from Porte Dauphine , through the Louvre, to the Basilica of Sacre Coeur.
No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.
The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage reveals him running real red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way streets.
Upon showing the film in public for the first time, Lelouch was arrested. He has never revealed the identity of the driver, and the film went underground. If you haven't seen this before it is a classic, if you have seen it I apologize, but it's still a classic. Turn on your sound and enjoy. Be sure and see the final scene.

  • Static / background crackles with Gigaworks T20s

Anyone had static / background crackles with these speakers sometimes its quite loud...disappears for several days then reappears. The first three months I had no problems now this on/off problem.
All the cables are plugged in firmly. Could it be outside interference or something 'loose' inside? Any opinions welcome..Cheers

    1. Make sure you're not distorting.
    2. Make sure you are grounded properly.
    3. Make sure power cables aren't parallel to speaker cables.

  • Ipod connected with VW part to my car: right speakers crackles with music

It only crackles/buzzes with music and not in silent gaps and only my right speakers. I have checked and my my PC files play without any noise. My ipod plays fine with headphones and via hifi connect. My ipod connects at the base with the VW radio/cd player. My VW radio /CD plays correctly with radio and with CD so i presume its not my right speaker. All music is from CD sources and none from any downloads. NOte also it is the same whether the car is running or not. SO does anyone know why the right channel/right speaker has a crackle/buzzing when i listen to my ipod in my car. VW have not come with anything. I am new to the ipod. Any one have any ideas please?

Do you get normal stereo sound from your Nano when using headphones?  If so then the problem is not with the iPod but with the car's sound system, or more likely the cable connecting the two.

  • Recording crackle with Line6 POD HD

Running iMAC (late 2009) with 16 gig, USB interface with a line6 pod hd. OSX is Mountain Lion. Up to date on all latest drivers and maintenance. Consistently getting crackle(s) when recording using Logic Pro.  Any guidenced to troubleshoot or fix would be greatly appreicated. I have played around with the I/O buffers...no difference.
    Thanks

btw...I installed logic pro on my macbook air running lion (10.7.4) used the same line6 drivers..hardware and no crackle or noise while recording audio..only difference is that the system I'm having the problem on is a iMac (late 2009) running 10.8.2...really need help here...I tried to downgrade to Lion last night and wasted hours..was not successful since there are other apps (like iPhoto) who have database conversions..etc..so had to fallback to ML today..
any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Crackle with H4n as usb i/o

I'm getting digital crackling when rocerding - most of the time but not alwayds (especially insane making)
    details with sample: http://www.smallwoodenshoe.org/mic-noise/
    Set up:
    Shure 7B > Zoom H4n > USB Port to MacBook Pro 2009 2.53GHz 8G RAM > Skype (updated) > Call recorded (updated)
This session crackle started fairly consistently at 45 seconds into the call.
I don't hear it in the monitoring from the Zoom
We have been successful in the past. And even after this. But what causes or solves it is unclear.
Same in Logic Pro X and Audition.
Settings (44.1 etc...) appear the same)
    Have tried:
    Different cable
    Restarting everything
Different combinations of connecting H4 to computer.
    Thanks for any thoughts.

Have you tried a higher I/O buffer setting?

I have a Dimension 4700 with a SB Audigy 2 zs sound card. The sound is always crackling to the point where I just leave the sound off all the time. Is there a way for me to disable this sound card and enable the integrated card on the mother board.

    Hmm..
    - have you looked if there are IRQ shares w/ the Audigy and some other device/controller?
    - have you tried to decrease PCI latency for the graphics PCI/AGP?
    - have you disabled all other sources (mic, line-in, etc.) but wave and master volume on surround mixer (or on windows playback/recording control panels)?
    - set SR quality and audio hw acceleration to max (windows audio controls -advanced settings)?
    - disabled digital only output?
    - tried w/ other media players w/ other driver modes (winamp, TRAKTOR beatport player, foobar, etc - ASIO, WDM/KS, etc.)?
    - etc.
You can dsable the Audigy from Device Manager and enable the integrated sound codec from DM too if it's not disabled on BIOS, otherwise you need to enable onboard sound from BIOS

  • Crackling with XBOX games using the Audigy 2 ZS Plat. Pro

Hey, currently I have my XBOX wired into the internal front dri've that comes with the Audigy2 ZS Plat Pro. That is going in to the optical in, through the XBOX's high definition pack.
Now, when playing games, (Halo 2, Ghost Recon 2), I notice a LOT of crackling when there are explosions or bass heavy events on screen. It doesn't even seem to be just restricted to bass either, as when sometimes there is loud in-game talking coming through, that crackles as well. It is seems like when there is a lot of sound that is coming through, that triggers it mostly.
Anyways... I can't see how this would be a hardware conflict, since im just using the sound card to pass the XBOX's sound through to my Logitech Z-5300's. I have played with every setting on the Audio HQ and the Creative menu's (Volume control, bass redirection, THX settings, etc..)
Also worth mentioning is that games working from my PC are fine, as well as music. So it is definately isolated to the I/O Audigy connector. Also, there is no crackling when played on a regular home stereo receiver, so it is not a defect in the cable or anything.
Does anybody have any suggestions at all? I have been going nuts trying to figure this out!! I have downloaed and installed the lastest drivers, but perhaps im installing them in the wrong order? Who knows... please, someone help me out!! Hopefully the Creative staff have heard of this and can suggest something for me.
Thank you so much for your time, and I hope I can get this working!
EDIT: Oh and also, please dont reference me to that help page on the Creative support page. I have been looking through the forum pages and tried most everything listed.Message Edited by jeffsaylo on -26-2004 07:00 AM

jeffsaylo what bigben said might be right also in the link i have at the bottom someone fixed this by changing the pci slot cause of a irq being used by 2 devices. worked for him but not for me but maybe you want to try it. check for this by going to control-panel then systemthen /hardware/device manager in device manager click view then "resources by connection" then look under irq for audigy and make shure its on its own number also to free up irq's disable unneed devices(in bios or windows?). anyway didnt work for me but let me know if you have any luck?

  • Bootcamp 2.0 - WinXP Home - Audio Playback Crackles with Realtek Drivers

    Hi Fellow Posters,
I'm hoping that someone can help me out here. Installation of WinXP via Boot Camp 2.0 on my Intel MacBook went flawlessly. Installation of Boot Camp WinXP drivers was also successful. Now, here comes the kicker. When playing audio through the built-in speakers in WinXP, there is a noticable crackle during playback. The drivers installed for the sound card are Realtek drivers, which produce no problem under Leopard.
Would this have been an issue if I was running WinXP via Parallels Desktop for MAC as opposed to installing XP under Boot Camp.

Spent most of the weekend tweaking these settings but none helped. Installed the latest Realtek WinXP drivers... that didn't help. I haven't tested this with all audio... but the audio crackle in question seems to occur with old audio... old as in the Star Trek Encyclopedia CD Rom audio.
This ran without problems or issue under WinXP on my Dell Inspiron 640m notebook and I had dared hope that it would run on WinXP under bootcamp on my MACBook. It just goes to show doesn't it... an APP written to RUN on Win95/98/ and PowerPC MAC OS ran without modification on WinXP wheres it won't run on MAC OSX. Ah well... I'll have to keep researching a solution because I'm not prepared to give up on the MAC after just switching from PC after some twenty odd years.

  • Soundblaster live USB 24bit, crackling with dvd/cd drive.

I know there are a ton of you out there with crackling problems however I haven't really been able to find anyone with a problem identical to mine. I only get crackling when I play a video on a cd or a dvd. I've played the same file twice, once when it was on my harddri've and once when it was on a cd. ON the cd it crackled, on the harddri've it was fine.
I've downloaded all the updates from creative but am pretty much stumped from there.
    Any suggestions?
    Kyle

A primary CD dri've would be D: A secondary would be E: and the third could be anything really, but I would guess F:?
Go into the bios and dissable S.M.A.R. T. Then in the bios cheak the DMA is set to auto.
under PnP set PCI latency to 64.
If this fails. Remove your secondary and third dri'ves and try just D:
Remove that little grey wire thingy that runs from the CD dri'ves to the sound card if you have it in use also as you may well be running it via this. I am not to sure how or why but its worth a try. I never bother with this cable with any new system I build as I am yet to find a use for it.
Also, the main volume control and the WAVE volume control turn them both down to 95%. At max they can give a gain effect much like a Guitar AMP can if you up the master volume.

  • Klipsch 5.1 Speakers Crackle with Audigy 2

Can anyone help? No matter what I do, the crackle is on all speakers. Music, movies, games, or no sound running, the crackle still is there. I ran through the update BIOS and the suggestions on troubleshoting, and they didn't help. Are the speakers not compatible? I don't have another computer to test the speakers on unfortunately, but when teh computer is off the crackle is not there, so I think that it is some setup with the drivers or whatnot. Thanks for the help.

i have the same setup, klipsch 5. promedia and Audigy 2 Zs. My suggestion is do not turn treble all the way up, i usually leave it around 75-80%. I have bass around 30-40% as well, and just use the dials on klipsch to adjust to your personal preference.
seems with the crackle you might have a problem with the wiring, maybe they have been worn down, and they are interfeering with something else you have. they are really sensiti've.
a good way to add onto the clarity of klipsch, is upgrade the wiring. If you still have the problem after messing with the treble and bass, i suggest you buy new wires.

  • Crackling with two output devices (Bluetooth/Minijack)

I am trying to connect my beats wireless via bluetooth, and using my regular headset at the same time. When i select two output devices on the aggregate device tab, i get crackling in either one of them depending on which i select first. Does this have something to do with the clock, and the unsynchronized audio via bluetooth and regular minijack? How do i stop the crackling?

update: I was fortunate and got response from HP support in less then an hour.  I provided detailed diagnostic information.  HP asked me to upgrade the bios and chipset drivers, and said that if it didn't work, then I probably was having some problem with the firewire port, and that I could mail it back to them for repairs because it is still under warranty.  I should be receiving a shipping box  in 2 days.  I'll try and report back in 10 days to let you know how they did.

  • Constant crackle with USB Sound Blaster 5.1. I'll reward you with cookies if you help

    Hey guys,
I got the external USB Sound Blaster X-Fi 5. Surround sound card for Christmas, and I've heard a constant, uninterrupted crackle/popping sound since I've installed it. It's incredibly aggravating. I ran through the FAQ, but most of it wasn't applicable because this isn't an internal sound card.
I'm running Windows 7 with 4 gigs of RAM. I can provide other specs if necessary. I'm about to return this card if I can't figure out the problem, so any help provided would be most appreciated. Thanks!

I am curious to learn, what kind of processor do you use?
I use the same product but I have, afaik, not noticed any crackling or popping, certainly nothing constant.
If you use Winamp, the following tips might not help, but at least I get to mention it. In the preferences, under plug-ins and under Output, one can in the device tab change the eh uh device.
Mine was set to primary sound driver, and I set it to "02 Speaker (Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5. Pro", though I do not think it make any difference. Edit: I see now that there is a message here saying "FAQ 0 "primary sound driver" refers to preferred sound device selected in windows control panel".
Someone mentioned that one could try checking the "create primary buffer" in that same tab.
In the next tab called "Buffering", there is the option to "enable cpu usage control". Not sure what good that is for.
Edit2: If you use Winamp, you might want to try out this DSP plugin "enhancer", only works with win7 with this guys work on it (old plugin allegedly unsupported):

  • Audio Buzzing/Crackling with Leopard Upgrade

I've recently upgraded to Leopard and am experiencing a strange issues.
Immediately following the upgrade, I can now hear an attached USB drive spinning up and down through the speakers. Clicking mouse buttons periodically results in popping/cracking sounds through the speakers. It seems that any firewire/USB activity is now causing line-noise through the audio.
If I switch everything (audio cable, firewire & USB devices) over to a Tiger Mac Mini, no buzzing/crackling comes through the speakers.
I figure that Apple changed the audio gain or something, or there is another thing I am missing.
Has anyone else experienced this same issue?
Any insight would be much appreciated.

It could be a driver problem. Are you using any 3rd party audio drivers?
You might also check into the main Leopard forum where you will get many more replies and probably a solution.
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1225
My audio did not change, either on my G5 or MBP, but I don't use my external HD in the USB mode, but I certainly do not hear any mouse clicks via the speakers.
You might simply have a bad ground or broken wire or something.
