Crackling at my end when dialing 0131 443 area cod...

Hello i have a fault which started 2 months ago, when i phone any 0131 443 number i get this annoying crackle at my end, BT have sent 2 engineers out both of which have heard / agreed there is a noise, however they dont know what the fault is and have sugested my parents who are in 0131 443 area code report it from there end, i explained to both engineers when they phone me the line is clear, so how can they report it, also if i phone another 443 number i get the exact same noise, all phones and fliters etc in my house are ok i have even tried the phone in my neighbours house and called 443 and its fine, i am now getting frustrated with BT at the lack of ownership of this problem, being ex BT engineer (exchange construction), i think this is bad.
yours frustrated.
P.S. just remembered the DP (pole) serving my line is also a D pole, meaning it cant be climbed, which doesnt help  could the fault be there.

Well heres the latest in this ongoing saga after 2 engineer visits, numerious calls to BT and no call backs after being promised them , they are sending another engineer out to my house, what a complete joke this is, both the engineers who have already visited have said the fault is external, but cant do anything about it (why not), i am completely sick of this and BT attitude to customer care. this has been going on fopr 2 months now, although BT Have no record of my initial report. as ex exchange construction for over 12 years, the way BT operates now is disgusting. No one phones you back when you are told they will, the staff in the call centres have not got a clue, Also getting someone in the UK is impossible when you phone.  and the last engineer who came to the house did not know what an i plate did, what chance do we poor customers have.

  • Can I add a prefix (1) easily when dialing out-of-area

When traveling, I find it awkward to dial long distance to phone numbers that are within my normal area code. I either dial the number manually (if I can remember it) or I change the number in the address book. Is there a way to set up the iPhone to add a "1" to the prefix without resorting to opening the address book and changing the number or without adding another "long distance" number to the address book?

Fields cannot be aligned in the way that you are proposing.  All fields align much like cell in an excel sheet.  They can only have one field next to them.  With all of the firehouse members in one multi-selection field you would only be able to place one text field to the right of it.  An alternative solution could be to use the power of skip logic rules.
Create your multiple select field with the names of the firehouse members.
Below the field create a Text field for each of the members of the firehouse using their name as the field label.
Select each Text field and enable Show/Hide Item in the Field Properties palette.
In the Show / Hide Items dialog click on + Add Condition
Select the multiple choice field in the left most drop down and select the firefighters name in the right most drop down.
Click the OK button to dismiss the dialog
    Repeat for each firefighter
The result of this will be that after the figherfighters for a given incident are selected in the multiple choice field, text fields for only those firefighters will appear below.  As an alternative to this you could substitute Drop Down Menu fields with each vehicle listed in place of the Text fields.
    Hope this helps.

  • UCCX 7 outbound dialing, problem with area codes

    Hello all,
I'm just testing the outbound dialing feature in a lab, and have run into the following problem:
    I have following:
    outbound configuration:
    general:
Customer dialing time: start (9:00) end (21:00)
    dialing prefix - 9
    international prefix - 00
    Local Area Code: 44
    Area Codes:
    44 -> Europe/London
    34 -> Europe/Madrid
86 -> GMT-10 (for testing purposes, does not correspond to real China time).
Then, I upload a .CSV file into a campaign with the following information:
    Jane,Smith,00447111113007
    Jacky,Chan,0086611115002
    Juan,Pablo,0034611114001
The dialing works, the agent receives the call, accepts it, and then the call is made.
if anyone is interested, although it has nothing to do with the question itself, the calls are translated to other extension on CUCM to be able to make a call.
The problem is that, they are all treated as in the same AREA CODE, although I have clearly defined area codes for each of those countries.
when the call appears it shows on the CAD as BAAreaCode: +00060
Therefore the calls are made through to China even when it's midnight there!!!???
I know I must be doing something wrong, but I don't know what?
    Many thanks for your help,
    Cheers,

    Hi Aaron,
Sorry for being so late to answer you. But I've done quite a few tests last weekend and have couple traces as well.
Apparently, the first time I added area codes, I did something incorrect, although I do not know what exactly, because now I've added area codes and it partially worked.
Area code: 4420 - Europe/London with Daylight saving
Area code: 3498 - Europe/Madrid with Daylight saving
Area code: 8661 - GMT/+7 NO Daylight saving
The first two Area codes (Spain and London) were correctly identified, In traces I could even see:
    this one is for Spain:

and the other problem is: outbound dialer does not even take contacts out of the campaign for calling if the server's local time is not between global start time and global end time. which should not be the case, as I understand campaign times should be applied to area code local time not to server local time.

  • Error Invalid Number, re-send using a 10 digit number when texting a certain number, but when I put the area code in it still sends to the 7 digit number

About a month ago I added a friends number without the area code. I was in an area that I couldn't send texts from.  Two days ago he texted me and I tried to reply, but when I did I got the error message "Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code."
So, I put in the area code in front of the number and when I sent it, the phone dropped the area code and just sent it to the 7 digit number.  I went ahead and deleted all of his contact information and text messages to him and re-entered the with the area code and saved him as a new contact.  I tried to text the number and it still sent it to only the 7 digit number!!!
I have tried everything there is to try, but there seems to be a part of the phone that is remembering this number even after I've deleted it and everything associated with it.
Does anybody have a solution for this??  I have called Apple and they told me they have never heard of this problem before.

The fix for this problem is easy and is set out here: http://edctips.blogspot.com/2014/09/fixing-iphone-texting-problem.html

  • Are phone numbers 10 digits or 11? Do I need to record a preceding 1 (when area code is diff than mine)?

When putting in new contacts, do I need to enter a "1" before the 10 digit phone number, or does iPhone know that a 1 needs to dialed before an area code?

No. Not in the US. I believe the last systems in the US that still require dialing a 1 are land lines, and I'm not even sure they "require" it any more. Lots of PBXs used in businesses still require them because no one has seen fit to update them.

  • Crackle at the end of a loop

There is always a quiet but annoying crackle at the end of my loops when I record from a real instrument.
    What can I do?

I haven't noticed a "crackle" but I have noticed that sometimes when I create a loop it ends up with its tail chopped off. And when this happens, these loops have the missing tail added to the front of the loop.
It's really annoying and I haven't found any way to reproduce the problem consistently (otherwise, I'd file a bug).
All of my loops are the spoken voice, so it's easy to tell when the first bit of audio is actually from the last bit of speech from the end of the loops.
This happened on GB '08, both before and after the latest set of patches (circa Sept '07). I'm using a PowerMac G5 dual 2GHz, for what it's worth.

  • How to turn off number sounds when dialing out?

?  I have the keyboard sound off already, but, when I dial out the numbers are not silent.

The keyboard is just that, ...the keyboard, ....used only for text, email and web.  The phone dialing screen is totally different and is uneffected by any changes you make to the keyboard settings.  The only way to silence the phone when dialing out is to either turn the volume all the way down (not logical) or to engage the mute slide on the side of the phone.  **Warning, ...both options also turn the ringer off or down.  I would like to see apple address this in the next update.  Users don't need to hear these loud numbers.

    Hello Kelli
Try to observe the same scenario in a new test project. Either create a new slide exactly same of the slide in which you are facing challenge or try to copy and paste the slide in new project. If it works then copy and paste all the slides in the new project and then publish your project
    Hope it helps

  • Can`t hear when dialing out

i get this problem when dialing a number. i can`t hear the other phone ringing or the person talking but they can hear me saying "hello"  sometimes i also can`t hear messages that are sent to me(email, text) that contain music or speech. sometimes this problem goes away if i activate voice dialing. any ideas ? i brought it back to where i bought it and they had no idea what was wrong.

Go into your Phone icon, from there display the menu and go into Options, then General Options. Try setting the default call volume to 100%. Also during a call if you hit the "Volume Up" button to increase the volume if you set the above percentage to something lower
