Cracks and Pops noises coming out while recording on garageband using Boss gt-10

Hi
since I downloaded the new Garageband v.10 (Oct. 2013) and OS X Mavericks i have a problem now recording my guitar thro garageband using the boss GT-10, during recording, the sound comes out some Pops and Cracks.
i did turn off the noise sound and i been setting up in a clean sound.
does anyone else have this issue? does anyone know how to fix

i figured out that i need a new usb driver for my gt 10, it hasn't been released yet, and i'm not sure it will remove the noises that will resolve my problem, let's hope so, i've been waiting for the driver for a week. it's taking long!

  • Cracking and popping noise Sound Blaster x-Fi Platinum Running on Windows 7 32 Bit

Hi everyone, I am using a x-fi platinum card and it simply wont work with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit. I have been using both windows 7 public beta and release candidate for last 8 months. Let me give you my PC configuration.
    Intel Pentium D 3.4GHz
2GB DDR2 Memory running in Dual Channel Mode
ATI Radeon HD 4670 Video Card With 52MB DDR3
It has a built in sound on mother board (Disabled at the moment)
With the above configuration I tried using my x-fi platinum on both Windows XP and Windows Vista, and it worked perfectly without any problem. When I upgraded to windows 7 beta for the first time with the creative beta driver for windows 7, I noticed that whenever there is any on screen activity, such as minimizing and maximizing windows, switching windows, scrolling, photo or webpage transition, etc. there are cracking and popping noises. And if there are continuous or too much activity on the screen at some times the sound card completely fails and unable to provide any sound. When I took the sound card out and enabled the on board audio chip (Realtek HD Audio), the sound was fine without any cracking or popping issue. I eventually upgraded to Windows 7 RC and also currently using the latest driver for windows 7 and I am still having the same problem. As a reasult I am being forced to use the on board realtek audio solution which provides really crappy sound compared to x-fi platinum.
It appears that the problem exists only when I try to run x-fi platinum on windows 7. I really hope there is a solution for this otherwise I will have to sell my beloved sound card which I have been using for at least 3 years on ebay and stick with low quality Realtek HD sound system.

seems X-FI cards got the problem.... shud be hotfixed by creative.
Not all of them, I have none of those problems with my Xtreme Music. This won't help the guy asking about the Xtreme Audio (search the Sound Blaster section for the one for your card), but using this,

  • Cracking and popping over FireWire

Audio or videos files played back with QuickTime over my FireWire connection are accompanied by quite a bit of cracking and popping. The crackling is not heard during quiet portions of the file. The format of the file doesn’t seem to matter (.mov, .wav, etc.). I can play back the same files over FireWire with other playback software, like VLC, and the problem disappears.
Interestingly, this problem with QT also disappears when listening with headphones plugged into the jack on my mac. In other words, the problem only occurs when I use QT and pipe the output through FireWire.
My FireWire goes into a mixer, an Onyx-1220i and from there gets piped into my studio speakers using the "Control Room Out" jacks.

  • IMAC freezing, hang during startup, loud noise coming out from the speaker

I am using the iMAC i3 Intel based which i bought it just a month ago
Last week it hang, freeze just like that without me launch any application just yet
I hold the ON button for a restart, and it freeze during the startup
One more thing, sometimes when it freeze, there's a noise coming out from the speaker ( just like there is no signal from the TV )
Already sent it to the Apple Service Center but they tell me it is free from any error, but by the time i bring it back home, not even 12 hours, it freeze again just like that with loud noises coming out from the speaker.
Btw did i mention, sometimes there's also a screen distortion
    Please somebody help me

I've experienced similar symptoms to the original poster's description. I have an iMac 27" 2010 model. This may be related to the following:
I've looked on numerous forums regarding the freezing problem I was having. This problem would arise on a wide range of systems.
Symptoms included but were not all always present - usually when I am loading the system with games/heavy load processes:
    - Full system freeze, screen still on.
    - Loud cracking noise coming from speakers (relative to what volume was at when the freeze happened).
    - Computer asleep but I cannot wake up unless hard reset with power button.
    - My screen backlight was also damaged (permanently dimmed) near the left side, and progressively got worse over time. This was fixed (replaced LCD 27" display $600+ and covered by my creditcard extended warranty)
Basically, what I've come to realize which has not been well documented as far as I could find relating to this problem - is that the system is overheating and causing these freezing errors (and LCD damage in my case). Prologned occurances could result in different system part failures.
How do you fix the overheating problem? Give this a try, it's worked so far for me and I've actually been able to continue video/photo editing without having this annoying freeze.
Search for and download 'iStat Pro' (widget addon that lets you monitor your system temperatures... compare it before and after the fix)
Search for and download 'SMCFanControl (a great little app that allows you to change your system fan speeds) - I did not know this was possible, and have never heard the fans go this high when it was being run automatically by the system. The fan's are obviously louder when set to max, but is well worth the system cooling results.

  • Ideapad S400u - Noise coming out from the headphone jack

I also have this annoying noise coming out from my headphone.
It happens while the notebook is charging/plugged.
    Could anyone help me?
    My lenovo is Ideapad S400u - Windowns 8.1 - 64 bits.
    Thank you,

    Igor,
    Welcome to the forum!
Can you describe this noise?  Is it coming from the area around the headphone port?  If you plug headphones into the port, does the noise go away or change?   Is the outlet you are using for charging grounded?
    Thanks

  • Some kind of buzz/noise coming out of the desktop speakers when I connect my iPhone 6 plus to my desktop speakers.  Help?

I have the iPhone 6 plus with the current update 8.02.  As soon as I connect my phone to my desktop speaker jack, I can hear an intermittent, low-level buzz/noise coming out of the speakers.  I've never experienced this noise with my iPhone 4S or my laptop connected.
Is this maybe a grounding issue with the phone? Could mine be defective?
I just tried a friend's 6 plus and his doesn't make the same noise.
    Thanks for your feedback.

I have the iphone 6 plus and when I play a ringtone or a video or music and stop it, the speaker of my phone make a little sound like shhhhhh haha, why? and still there for a few seconds and sometimes minutes

  • Audio cracking and popping

    These are my system specs,
    CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T 3.3GHz
    RAM: 4GB Kingston HyperX @ 2000MHz
    GPU: Sapphire HD4890 VaporX 1G
    HDD: Seagate SATA11 500GB
    MOBO: ASUS M4A89TD PRO
    PSU: Corsair TX850W
OS: Windows 7 x64bit Home Edition
So i have an AMD system running windows 7. Now whenever i scroll through my music or playlists in itunes my music suffers severe cracking and popping sounds. It also happens when i am scanning photo's and editing them not sure if that helps. I am at a massive loss in why this is happening i have tried rolling back audio drivers and what not any solutions?

hi i just like to say i had a similar fault though i would be surprised if it causing yours, but you never know,my fault was my laptop lid, [9 months old] it contains the mic ,and when the lid was in a certain angle crackles could be heard worse when i had my external sound card in, it was a faulty membrane [ lid to body] easily missed by engineer because it was the same angle all the time it happened, good luck, PS you English is very good

  • Cracking and popping on Inspire T2900 Speakers

There was a message exactly like this one on the forums about a year ago, perhaps more, and there were no responses...hopefully this proves more fruitful.
Yesterday my Inspire T2900 speakers began to pop and crack. The pops happen at regular intervals of maybe ten seconds or so, and distort sound whenever they occur. Even when there is nothing playing on them, the sound is simply obnoxious. The pops continue even when the speakers are 'off' (aka, the volume on the control is turned all the way down so that it clicks off), though they are quieter. Only when the system is unplugged completely (or the speakers unplugged from the sub unit) do they stop.
I have an audigy 4 sound card purchased this past summer. Even with headphones plugged in, the speakers still crack and pop.
Any help with this problem is greatly appreciated.

Do they still make the cracking if you unplug the leads to the computer at the speaker side? Are all connections (all computer cables, all speaker cables, and the power cable) firmly connected? Finally, it may sound silly and is highly unlikely, but nothing else in the house is being turned on to trigger it.
If none of those help i would assume the problem is with the speakers and your best bet is to contact support.

  • Cracking and popping so

Hey I am running the latest drivers. I have a X-Fi Fataty. and i am running Vista 64 bitAny one else getting VERRY BAD stuttering, cracking, and popping sounds in games?Titan quest for example on the main menu is COMPLETLY HORRIBLEWorld of Warcraft is doing the same issue. I didnt have this issue in XP?for Kicks i have tried moveing the card?to all my differnt PCI slots. and yes i am running ALchemy on TQ and WoW.

I have the same problem but I believe it is a Vista-64 issue not a Creative issue. I tried using my onboard sound instead and same problem. I have an nVidia 7900GTX on a 945P motherboard. The problem only happens in graphically intensi've tasks for me.

  • Cracking and popping has returned with version 4.3.5

I just updated to 4.3.5 and the popping and cracking is back.  This is so annoying.  A $300 iPod and have crap sound quality when using it in the car.  I didn't have the issue with the cracking and popping when 4.3.4 was on the iPod.  Can I go back to 4.3.4 on my Touch?  This is unexcusable for such a high dollar mp3 player to have the same problem over and over and over.  Hopefully Apple will get this taken care of.

You do see the devices heading on the left sidebar? If you don't see the sidebar, go to View>Show sidebar in the iTunes menu and then check to see if the device appears.
If that isn't the problem, go through the troubleshooting steps. It could be the Apple Mobile Device Service issue.

  • Cracks and popping sound: A never ending sto

A few years ago i had few cumputers (always custom made) in which i always used the same SB Li've! 3.0 card (Windows 98 SE). Worked like a charm without any problem.
Then i upgraded to Windows XP and the problems started. I still kept using that SB Li've! 3.0 but i had cracks and pops in about every sound environment i used (games, CD playback etc). In the end, i got rid of the SB Li've! 3.0 and started using the onboard sound from the motherboard (ASUS at first). This was a RealTek AC97. All problems gone, no cracks, no pops, just great sound without any problems.
I did upgraded again, now to an MSI motherboard also with integrated sound (RealTek AC97). Just as with the ASUS, not a single problem soundwise.
Then a few days ago, i decided to look for an add-on soundcard again to reduce the CPU workload a bit. Guessing the old SB Li've! 3.0 and XP didn't go along fine, i went for cheap SB Li've! Audigy. Disabled the onboard AC97, removed it's drivers, installed the Audigy without any problems, updated the Creative drivers to the latest version and rebooted my system... guess what... the cracks and the pops in the sound are back in about every sound environment i use.
Today, i reverted back to the AC97... No more cracks and pops!!!!
Since i used a varity of hardware with various chipsets which all worked fine as long as there was no Creative soundcard involved, i can only conclude that your product has some serious problem (and regarding the same remarks made on various forums, i'm far from the only one). I tried about every solution i could find, without succes until this date.
Therefore, i decided that this will be my last Creative product ever bought.

Well, i got it working. I tried about everything i came accros (IRQ settings, PCI latency and stuff like that) but nothing really helped. Forcing IRQ's in the MB's BIOS didn't help and Latency was AOK.
Then i did read here somewhere that you can change your computer setting from ACPI to Standard PC in the device manager and that this helped. So i checked that but i could not change to a Standard PC like mentioned in a previous topic. Since i'm planning a complete re-install when my new Videocard arri'ves this week, i thougt "what the heck", let's do some extra testing. The only thing i could do was uninstall the ACPI driver. I did this, rebooted and i had to set a few settings (video and stuff) back to my settings because they reverted back to default. Also, every hardware on the USB asked for a re-install. Since everthing was still install, this was a piece of cake.
So after removing the ACPI driver (although the device manager says that it's still an ACPI PC), and resetting a few setups + re-installing a bit of hardware, i tried and soundcard and BINGO!, no cracks, no pops, no tics anymore. Sound is just as smooth as a baby's ass now.. :-)
BTW: For those interrested in my setup: MSI K8T Neo motherboard, AMD Athlon 3000+ 64bit, GB Ram, GT6600 256MB DDR3, SB Audigy LS, 200GB SATA Harddisk & a 40 GB HD on IDE as back up, Plextor CD 6x burner, HP printer, Cougar stick and throttle (modded), TrackIR, etc...

  • Fan noise being picked up while recording in garageband

For some months I have been using garageband to record my narration of stories. When I played them back they were perfect.
However, today I recorded 2 stories and when I played them back there was a constant huming [the fan] noise in the background.
Would anyone be able to help me please?
My MacBook Pro is 10 months old.

I am not running anything in the background while recording.
If your fans are running at high speed, although the computer is not experiencing heavy usage and is properly ventilated, you may need to reset the System Management Controller (SMC), see:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
To adjust the recording level for the internal microphon, just speak into the microphone and watcht the indicator lights below the slider. If these lights occasionally go to the right margin, the level is too high and may result in clipping, then move it back to the left.

  • Noise coming out of Airport Speakers once Airfoil installed

    Hiya,
I installed Airfoil and Reemote Server today in order to make all the audio work with my Aiport speakers.
It worked fine through Safari for about 10 mins and then I started getting this white noise sound coming out of the speakers.
I am trying to figure out why.
It stills plays whatever it is (mixcloud, youtube ) but one the top of the noise.
It works fine from my Iphone Itunes but the problem is from my Mac.
    Any help?
    Thanks

On the Airfoil for Mac site, it says that the demo will work fine for 10 minutes and then it will generate noise over the music.  The license for the software is $25.

  • Guitar cuts out while recording

    Hi All,
I'm using Garageband and the Griffin guitar connect cable and when I try to record my guitar, the recording cuts out after a few bars. Useful stuff:
-original iPad and fully up to date iOS.
-cut out is random, though the most I've been able to record is 6 bars.
-when not recording, the audio is fine
-tried restarting my iPad - no difference.
    Any help is much appreciated.

There is an improvement if you leave the amp setting alone when you start, turn of monitoring and the noise gate. About 3 times out of 4 I can record 8 full bars this way. I haven't tried recording any longer passages yet. Not really a solution, but slightly better. . . .
