Cracks with matrix reverb on intel macpro

I use matrix reverb on G4 and G5 without problem. since i am on intel macpro, there are crackles with the matrix reverb.
Do you have an idea ?

I never use that plugin,I use Logic's Space Designer...
Maybe Apple knows why it crackles on an Intel machine,ask them please...

Bug: multiple tracks with Matrix Reverb causes static on playback

Some of my .bands I developed under an earlier GB sound atrocious under the latest '08 (v4.1.2) -- if I have more than one real instrument track using my Matrix reverb preset, the playback of the second track has static (not subtle at all... clearly a software issue). The track sounded fine when recording it with the same effect on, but the playback is extremely smurfy. I can deselect the effect on the second track and the static disappears (that is, it was clearly not part of the dry track recording).
Do others see this or similar issues?

Need hints for Optimizing Photoshop CS4 on Leopard / Intel MacPro

Just wondering if anyone had any hints for optimizing PS CS4 performance on Intel MacPro ( I have the 2.66 Dual-core Xeon) My MacPro has the upgrade ATI 1900 video card which I think is GL enabled. From what I have read CS4 now accesses the ATI 1900's GPU memory for increased performance. Is this correct? Does anything need to be configured or does CS4 automatically detect the ATI 1900 GPU?
Any other configuration in CS4 that need to be set?

Open Photoshop's preferences (Command+K). Click on Performance at the left. The lower right portion of the settings will say if PS detected a compatible video card. If it did, the check box for "Enable OpenGL Drawing" will already be on.

That may help you decide whether or not you want it on. Personally, I turned it off. One big reason for me is paths. I have to create a LOT of paths for client work. With OpenGL on, paths can be difficult to downright impossible to see as you draw them, depending on the color of the underlying pixels. With OpenGL off, PS uses the standard complementary contrasting colors. Much easier to use.

The original question was 'answered' with questions because the original question was so odd. CS5 has not been announced so no one can state what it can do. This is not rocket science about software that has not been released yet. If someone knows the answer to the question, they are not allowed to say anything yet. Setting up dual ethernet on an intel macpro server

Hello. I am new to the server setup and was wondering....I am using an intel MacPro as a server with a 3.5TB raid. I am using the MacPro as a server, connecting to a 24-port SMC switch which will feed 15 workstations. The internet is through a local T-1. My question is this....How do I configure the Macpro to take the T-1 into ethernet #1, and then out of ethernet #2 to the switch and distribute it using the DHCP service in server admin? I know how to configure the DHCP in server admin, but how do I configure the Ethernet ports on the macpro so ethernet port 1 is the T-1 and ethernet port#2 is sending the T-1 to the switch? Sorry if I am confusing you, like I said, I am new to this. Hope there is some insight available. Tahnks in advance for your assistance.

I wouldn't recommend this because most people who do this have the 'server' running not just NAT, but probably their web site, a file server, maybe directory server, and just about every other server daemon they want.
If this server has one leg in the public internet and one in the private LAN you're leaving yourself open to exposing those services to external users.
It is not possible to use Apple's GUI tools to restrict all the file sharing services to the internal LAN only. It's also not possible to use Apple's GUI to block external traffic via the firewall. This means that, out of the box, any internet user could hit your AFP server, your directory server, and every other service you're running on this box.
It is possible to secure the box, but it means a) getting under the hood and controlling the various services manually and b) never using Server Admin again because it will likely undo all the hand-crafted configuration changes you made.
If you're fine with that, then go ahead. Most people aren't. So your options are to run only the NAT service on this box (which makes this box a VERY expensive NAT device), or leave yourself exposed.
That's why I say to use a NAT router to do that task. For $50 you get a box that designed for that task and will secure your entire internal network. You can use port forwarding to permit specific incoming traffic through to your server (so you can still do what you want), and you don't have to worry (as much) about what information on the server is accessible to the outside world.

You can check to see if yours meets the system requirements for Snow Leopard - that would be the highest; Lion will not run on your machine.
Please note that the minimum 1 GB RAM is a minimum - 2 GB would be better.

Problem with matrix/screen in Qosmio F55-Q502

For a few weeks I have strange problem with matrix/screen in my laptop.
The matrix flickers very often - no matter if power cable is plugged or not.
The screen is full bright and suddenly it starts to blink - it is getting darker, than lighter, usually for few/dozen seconds. It does it when nobody touches it or when I work on it.
It very annoying and making eyes tired - it does it very quickly and there are few levels of screen brightness.
Moreover sometimes the screen turns off - You can see what is on desktop but the screen is very very dark (but not blank or completely switched off). It happens without any reason - sometimes just in the middle of working, sometime for example when I touch (not pull) the power cable between laptop and power supply.
Then, the only way to get back to normal brightness of screen id to close the lid just for half a second and open it
- matrix lights then normally, but can "turns off" moment later and I must do it once again - sometimes even few times..
After "action" with lid screens seems like nothing ever happen..
Does anyone have idea what is the cause of such behaviour or how to diagnose it in details?
Or maybe solve this problem?

Sounds like the Backlight or Inverter is failing or there is a loose connection.
Is the unit under warranty? Send it to an ASP for repair.
You should avoid repairing it yourself, the backlight is very high voltage!

Having intermittent Airport connectivity with a 2010 6 core MacPro. When it works has low bars on status graph. Laptop set up next to it has no connect problems. Airport utility has shown no Airports a couple times when the laptop showed all. When first joined network, staus bar is full, then drops to one or two bars. Would this be an antenna or card being loose? Is it user friendly fix, or bring it to Apple? Thanks in advance.

I just bought and installed LR5 and it is not importing or even opening folders of images on my hard drive. I have a MacBook with a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and I see on the packaging that the software requires a Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support. I am not sure if this is the problem. I otherwise meet all the requirements.

I think you are right at the minimum specs.... but you should still be able to oprate even at a slow spped.
