using a PCI-1200 DAQ card with a CB-50LP I/O connector block. The

for the power and data. The manual says that I should see +3.250 volts
when turning clockwise, -3.250 volts turning counterclockwise, and
zero torque should be 0v. I think the unit is a floating grou

Hello;
This is a issue specificaly regarding Crane Electronics. They must give you more than just schematics. Contact them again and ask for more detailed information on how to connect power and data lines.

    Dennis,
    Sounds like you need to find another vendor for your UTA Rotary Transducer.
    However; I can probably suggest a method for getting the answers you need. Contact Crane and ask them how to get a scaled 0-10 volt linear output from the transducer, and/or to recommend a signal conditioning unit or method. I once had to build my own signal conditioner for a high accuracy gas pressure transducer. It cost about $35 and took about two hours to do. All it was was a 24V power supply to supply the transducer, some wires, and a BNC connector to allow me to route the actual signal(I believe it was a referenced signal, referenced to the PS reference) to the breakout box of my DAQ device.
    Since I don't know the output of your transducer, I can't say wether or
    not you can directly use the 1200 DAQ card to supply the necessary excitation to your transducer, but I would have to guess that you can't, and that you need a 24V power supply. Looking at the schematic doesn't help me at all, so I understand your issue.
    Get back in contact with Crane, and TELL them you need to know how to excite the transducer, and what signal to expect and where, and what scale you need to be using.
    Good luck

    Bjr,

  • Can multiple transducer be handled by single datalogger

    I have 3 presure guages generating 0-20mA analog signal and one differential pressure transducer also generating 0-20 mA signal. I need to maintain a log of all pressure readings. In this regard I need to have a datalogger which can translate my analog signal into digital format so that Labview will display and maintain record.
    In this regard I would like to ask that do I need to buy only 1 datalogger or 4 dataloggers for all the pressure devices.
    Sorry if I ask very basic question but I am far away from the field of electronics/instrumentaion.

    Most NI data acquisition devices are multichannel and you would only need to buy 1. The least expensive is the 6008. With 4 differential inputs, it just meet that need.

  • Start-up program for LVDT transducer

    Hi everyone,  I am tasked to simplify a project based on getting transducer reading from LVDT using thirty-two channels.
    I am to use three-loop structures to build this program.
    I am currently stuck here, need tips on how to start? Much appreciated with thanks!

    Ok. I try to figure out. I am currently using 8.5 version. Thanks anyway!!! =)
    This program works in such a way that user is able to draw the graph with excel after
    getting the data from Labview and transfer all the transducer reading into excel using Active X.
    The simplified program I hope to so, is able to take voltage readings using 32 ports.
    Here contain a doc which shows how the program works.  Guys, any suggestions?

  • Reg: UTA ports FCoE, 10GbE flow control settings

    Could someone shed some light on the flow control settings for UTA ports, below is the scenario.I am working on  the configutation of 4 node 3220 custer. We are using this 4 node cluster for FC and NFS traffic. each UTA port on the node used to serve both FcoE and NFS traffic( UTA port logically acting as FC and 10GbE ports) . However, the flow control is set to FULL on the 10GbE logical port to serve  the NFS traffic. I think this flow control settings at 10GbE logical port level doesn't effect the FC traffic flow of the UTA port. the flow control settings would be effective on 10GE logical ports only.. Please confirm this... NetApp recommend to set the flow control to NONE and upper layer protocalls can take care of flow control( as per Best practise). If I want to change the flow control setting of 10GbE logical port, does it effect the data flow of logical FC0E port aswell?Now the actual issues is we are using the controllers mostly to serve FC trafic and we are experienceing Performance issues on all the nodes. current ONTAP version on the controller is 8.2p5we are hitting the latency of 50-80ms, I am trying to track the IO on the controllers, IO is not really high when we had the performace issues, But some times disk utilizations and cpu utlization hitting 80%. Performace manager doesn't have the granularity at aggregate level to track what LUN/volumes are casuing the high utlization at aggregate level..I am using the coomands sysstat -M, sysstat -x, netstat , statit commands mainly. However, I am not sure on any other internal porcesses are causing the high disk uitlizations...Please share your ideas on this..Oh.. another point this.. These controllers are flexpod config.....

    Hi,We haven't worked on flow control settings.. you mean you are able to Disable the flow control on CNA cards?We have upgraded these filers to 8.2.3P3. at the moment filers are working fine, no performance issues.. However I wanted to disable the flow control on these ports, if possble. But NetApp docs tell that we cann't disable the flow control on the CNA cards.   https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1368834/html/GUID-31241255-4914-46FF-BDB5-A02DCCEABCCA.html  Regards,Chandra

  • Use DasyLab to measure torque, rotary position, and RPM

    I'm new to DasyLab and am developing an application to measure torque, rotary position, and RPM.  I'll be using an Interface T8 pedestal torque transducer with a built-in rotary encoder capable of measuring angular position, speed, and direction.  The encoder will be outputting 5V TTL at one pulse per degree.  I'm using an MCC 1608GX USB DAQ device capable of reading analog and digital signals.  I'm looking for insight on reading the TTL output from the encoder and converting it to angle and speed.  Any help would be appreciated.

    OK,
    If you want to go directly to the 1608 you need to take the counter input and use it as a frequency input.  This will give you the Frequency of the encoder that you can convert to RPM but I don't think you will be able to detect the direction.
    To my experience the signal is not very stable due to the software pull but good enough if precision is not a question.
    Another oprion is to buy an additional small frequency to analog converter that will take a dirrential output.  This units can usually be programmed for +/- Frequnecy to +/- rpm.
    There are models out there that are designed fo quadrature encoders.  The link below is a good example.

    Hi,
    5.5.2 Electronic Bank Statement
    Global Settings for Electronic Bank Statement
    You should carry out Customizing for the electronic bank statement as follows: In Customizing for Bank Accounting, choose Business Transactions &#61614; Payment Transactions &#61614; Electronic Bank Statement &#61614; Make Global Settings for Electronic Bank Statement.
    Create Account Symbols:
    In this step, you create account symbols. You will need these symbols at a later stage to define the posting specifications. Before the posting rules are used, the individual account symbols are replaced by the account to which items are to be posted.
    Account     Text
    AUSG-UEBERW-AUS     Foreign out. transf.
    AUSG-UEBERW-INL     Domestic out. transf
    BANK     Bank account
    BANKEINZUG     Bank collection
    BANKGEBUEHREN     Bank cost
    BARAUSZAHLUNG     Cash payment
    BAREINZAHLUNG     Cash deposit
    GELDEINGANG     Cash receipt
    SCHECKAUSGANG     Outgoing cheques
    SCHECKEINGANG     Incoming cheques
    SCHECKVERRECHNG     Cheque clearing acct
    SONSTIGE     Other bank trans.
    TREASURYAUSGANG     Treasury outg. trans
    TREASURYEINGANG     Treasury inc. trans.
    ZINSAUFWAND     Interest paid
    ZINSERTRAG     Interest received
    Assign Accounts to Account Symbol:
    In this step, you define how accounts are determined for a particular account symbol. To avoid you having to define a separate account symbol for each individual house bank account (each with a different G/L account and separate bank clearing accounts), the G/L Acct field can contain a masked output.
    Act Symbol     Acct Mod.     Currency     G/L Acct
    AUSG-UEBERW-AUS     +     +     +++++++++3
    AUSG-UEBERW-INL     +     +     +++++++++2
    BANK     +     +     ++++++++++
    GELDAUSGANG     +     +     +++++++++2
    GELDEINGANG     +     +     +++++++++9
    KASSE     +     +     ++++++++++
    SCHECKAUSGANG     +     +     +++++++++1
    SCHECKEINGANG     +     +     +++++++++8
    SCHECKVERRECHNUNG     +     +     ++++++++17
    SONSTIGE     +     +     ++++++++19
    SPESEN     +     +     479000
    Create Keys for Posting Rules:
    In this step, you create the descriptions for the required posting rules. Each posting rule represents the business transaction on the bank statement in the SAP system, such as a cheque received, a credit memo, or debit memo.
    Posting Rule     Text
    001+     Cash inflow via interim account
    002 +     Cheque credit memo through bank
    003-     Cashed Cheque
    004-     Domestic transfer
    005-     Foreign transfer
    006-     Other disbursements
    007+     Other receipts
    008-     Cash payment
    009+     Cash receipt
    010+     Collection/direct debit
    011-     Returns collection/direct debit
    012-     Bank fee
    013+     Interest received
    014-     Interest paid
    015+     Payment by credit card
    016-     Vendor direct debit
    017+     Treasury receipts
    018-     Treasury disbursements
    Define Posting Rules/Posting Specifications:
    In this step, you create posting specifications for each posting rule. The posting specifications enable you to define how a particular business transaction (such as a credit memo) is to be posted.
    Posting specifications comprise one or two posting records Debit &#61614; Credit. The first posting record is called posting area 1 and usually involves a G/L account posting (BANK ACCOUNT &#61614; CASH RECEIPT, for example). The second posting record, which is optional, is called posting area 2 (CASH RECEIPT &#61614; CUSTOMER, for example).
    Depending on whether a posting transaction affects bank accounting only, or affects both bank accounting and subledger accounting, you define posting rules either for the first posting area only, or for both the first and second posting areas.
         Pstg Rule     PosAr     PKey     Acct (Debit)     PKey     Acct (Credit)     Doc. Type     Pst Ty

    Treasury disbursements     018-     1          TREASURY-AUSGANG     50     BANK     SA     4
    Returns collections/direct debits are posted to the account for other interim postings, since they need to be postprocessed.
    Create Transaction Type:
    In this step, you create the names and descriptions for the various transaction types required. House banks that use identical lists of business transaction codes (external transactions) can later be assigned to the same transaction type.
    Trans. Type     Name
    MC     MultiCash
    Assign External Transaction Types to Posting Rules:
    In this step, you assign (external) business transaction codes to a posting rule (internal), which enables you to use the same posting specifications for different business transaction codes.

    To enable the bank statement to find the item to be cleared in the vendor direct debit transaction, the bank details must be maintained in the vendor master record. The bank statement finds the vendor using the bank details and the item using the value (if unique).
    For algorithm 012, the number interval of the document numbers must be entered in the import report. For algorithm 026, the number interval of the reference document numbers must be entered (SD number assignment = XBLNR in the FI document). For further information on searching for the reference document number, refer to SAP Note 0107592.
    The UNALLOCATED transaction results in the bank statement being imported, even if the external transaction code has not been created in Customizing. The transaction is posted to the interim account +++++5 (bank subaccount, depending on bank). Take a look at this interim account after the bank statement has been imported and post the items to the correct accounts where necessary. To ensure that the transaction is contained in the system the next time the statement is imported, define the new external transaction code in Customizing and assign an appropriate posting rule.
    Assign Bank Accounts to Transaction Types:
    In this step, you assign each of your bank accounts to a transaction type.
    Bank key     Bank Account     Transaction
    400500     XXXXXXXX     MC
    5.5.3 Manual Bank Statement
    Create and Assign Business Transactions
    In this step, you define an indicator and assign a posting rule for each business transaction.

    Define Posting Keys and Posting Rules for Manual Bank Statement
    The posting keys and rules have already been set up for the electronic bank statement. The posting keys and rules for the manual bank statement are the same as those used for the electronic bank statement.
    5.5.4 Cheque Management
    Create and Assign Business Transactions
    In this step, you define transaction codes for cheque deposits and assign them to a posting rule. You have to specify these transaction codes in the Tran (Transaction) field on the initial screen for cheque deposits.
    Tran     +-     Post. Rule     Acct Mod     Text
    CD01     +     CD01     +     Direct cheque deposit
    CD02     +     CD02     +     Cheque deposit via interim account
    Define Posting Rules and Posting Keys for Cheque Deposit
    Two posting rules have been created: Direct cheque deposit and Cheque deposit via interim account. These rules represent two ways of posting cheques in the system. If you only want to post the bank accounting item in the first step and then clear the open customer items, use the Cheque deposit via interim account transaction. This is of particular importance when you have a lot of cheques and you have to ensure that all the cheques in Bank Accounting are posted by 10:30 a.m., for example. Otherwise, you use the Direct cheque deposit transaction in which the customers are cleared immediately provided that clearing information is available.
    Procedure
    Create Account Symbols:
    In this step, you create account symbols. You will need these symbols at a later stage to define the posting specifications. Before the posting rules are used, the individual account symbols are replaced by the account to which items are to be posted.
    Symbol     Description
    SCHECKEINGANG     Incoming cheques
    SCHECKVERRECHNG     Cheque clearing acct
    BANK     Bank account
    Assign Accounts to Account Symbol:
    In this step, you define how accounts are determined for a particular account symbol. To avoid you having to define a separate account symbol for each individual house bank account (each with a different G/L account and separate bank clearing accounts), the G/L Acct field can contain a masked output.
    Act Symbol     Acct Mod.     Currency     G/L Acct     Acct Symb. Desc. (set automatically)
    SCHECKEINGANG     +     +     +++++++++8     Incoming cheques
    SCHECKVERRECHNG     +     +     ++++++++13     Cheque clearing acct
    SCHECKVERRECHNG     +     CHF     ++++++++60     Cheque clearing acct
    SCHECKVERRECHNG     +     USD     ++++++++50     Cheque clearing acct
    BANK     +     +     ++++++++++     Bank account
    Create Keys for Posting Rules:
    In this step, you define a posting rule for cheque deposits. The key determines the posting rules for general ledger and subledger accounting. The posting rule represents the typical business transactions involved in cheque deposits.
    Posting Rule     Text
    CD01     Direct cheque deposit
    CD02     Cheque deposit via interim account
    Define Posting Rules:
    In this step, you define the posting rules for cheque deposits and prepare account determination. Depending on whether a posting transaction affects general ledger accounting only, or affects both general ledger and subledger accounting, you define posting rules either for one or two posting areas. You only need one posting area if you post items directly “Bank to incoming cheques” rather than using clearing accounts, for example.
    Pstg Rule     PosAr     PKey (D)     Acct (Debit)     PKey (C)     Account (Credit)     Doc. Type     PstTy
    CD01     2     40     SCHECK
    EINGANG               DZ     8
    CD02     1     40     SCHECK
    EINGANG     50     SCHECKVER-RECHNUNG     SA     1
    CD02     2     40     SCHECKVER-RECHNUNG               DZ     8
    User transations..
    Bank Reconciliation Process:
    1) Input the electronic statement from the bank -- FF_5
    2) Acct statement - posting and clearing -- FEBP
    4) Post process manually for any missing items  -- FEBA
    If this helps,please assign points.
    Thanks,

  • R-Cran

    Hey there,
    I plan to write a program which uses a mathematical Tool called R-Cran ( http://www.r-project.org/ ) that runs in the background and is a console program.
    Now I'd like to connect my Java proggy with R and send it the following command:
    c(1,2,3,4,5)
    Normally R generates the following output which I'd like to get pasted over into a JTextField or whatever in my java proggy:
    [1] 1 2 3 4 5
    Has anybody experiences on that and could provide me with some links, tutorials and howtos how to do that? Or perhaps knows a simple way how to realize that?
    Is there a general way how to run a console program from a Java app and receive its output.
    In a more evolved version I'd like to pass data, say a vector of a vector over to R and some grafical output from R to java. I know that R has some methods to read/write data from a file - might a temporary file from my java app might be a possibility? How to code that (Links/keywords)?
    Thx in advance!!

    First thing I would look into would be the Runtime class, and the exec(...) method.
    That creates a process running an external executable, with the ability to feed a stream of data to and from.
    Make sure you read:
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-12-2000/jw-1229-traps.html
    and look at the API:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/lang/Runtime.html
    You should also look into that other application to see if it provides a method of inter-application communication.
