Concise problem statement:Premiere Pro crashes after performing Extract operation in Timeline
Steps to reproduce bug:
1.Place an audio transition in Timeline
2.Place Playhead over a Transition and Mark In
3.Mark Out
4.Extract
Results:Crash
Link: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1017601
It's interesting that after reopening the project and performing lift/extract there was everything fine.
So I went to dig deeper
It's not only about Transition Duration/Alighnment.
It's also not depends on whether you will press Lift/Extract Button in the Monitor Panel or use a HotKey, crash may happen in both cases.
So, after reopening a project - no crash, but after performing the operation multiple times - the crash will occur. Strange, huh?
It's an easily reproducable bug on my PC, but I don't see a way to define some concrete pattern to invoke it.
I just have projects with a ready setup to just perform Lift/Extract a few times and obtain a crash.
This crash occured 2 times in an hour and I'm so tired of this, khm.
The Auto-Save feature is also not reliable, it is set to auto-save every 1 minutes, but sometimes I loose up to 5-10 minutes of work.
I experienced this bug before - in CS5 (but there it was contstant, easily reproducable), then it was fixed in CS5.5 and now in CS6 it's back.
Just tried on a remote PC to reproduce the bug, no luck, there's everything fine - I am in a trouble.
Renamed the folders:
c:\Users\USER\Application Data\Adobe\Premiere Pro\6.0\
c:\Users\USER\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\6.0\
c:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS6\
thus removing all of the Preferences and Plug-ins, and I was surprized with inability to reproduce the bug too. But only at first attempt, after repeating the operation much more times (10-20 times) the Crash is Back.
Digging deeper?
Removed again all the preferences folders and created a New Project, Imported there the Project with a reproducable on my pc bug, set Mercury Playback to Software and BANG! The Crash is there.
Decided to open the project on a remote PC again and try to perform the operation also multiple 10-20 times and BANG! The Crash is there.
So, it IS reproducable! I can reproduce it on any PC. You can too, if you try.
It's not persistent, but sometimes it's very unexpected.

Crash, Boom, Bang...
We experienced a strange problem a couple days ago:
We shuffled our projects & supplier plans around to clean things up about
a week ago. Things ran fine, but after a week, suddenly some windows
would bomb with the following error upon doing an Open().
After playing around with it for a while, I got tired of messing with it, &
un-checked out the 2 or 3 window classes. Suddenly they worked fine!
The next day a different window began doing the same thing. On a whim,
I named all the grid fields on the window. (We usually don't name each
grid field). The problem stopped.
To make sure I un-checked out the class, & it blew up. I named the grid
fields again and it worked!
Did I fix the problem or was it just coincidence?
Sometimes I would get a system error: Trying to get the value of an
attribute from a NIL object and the array on the window was indicated.
I guess my real question is: Do ALL widgets on a window HAVE to be
named? (ie. TextGraphics, Gridfields, Frames, etc)
Thanks.

Warning: Unable to close 5 Window(s) after waiting for 15 seconds;
continuing with shutdown anyway.I had accidentally deleted a <textgraphic> from a derived window when
the parent had the <textgraphic>. In other words. The textgraphic
belonged to the parent and it was on display in the child window. I had
strange compilation problems with that widget after that. I tried all
possible permutations to set the problem right - removed all inheritance
and set it back again, deleted the widget from the super class and
created it again, renaming the widget, etc.. Nothing worked.
Finally, I had to recreate the super and derived windows all over again.
I had exported the methods. So that saved some time.
It would be a nice idea if somebody from Forte Software could explain
the complication. I am still at a loss to figure out what could have
gone wrong !

Steve,
Do you have inheritance level among your windows ?
If yes, it is highly recommended to name all widgets in the mother
window(s),
specially grid-fields.
Hope this helps,

Crash, Slow, Bang ... Goes my CS6
I am about at whit's end with Photoshop and Premiere Pro. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, backed up, moved files, played with settings and yet ...
PHOTOSHOP ... It will run incredibly slow for the first 10 - 15 minutes. Then it seems to pick up speed. Then randomly it'll slow down again. It's so slow that I click on the text object in the toolbox and it takes at least 30 seconds to work.
PREMIERE ... Crash.
Any ideas? I'm running the newest iMac, loaded, with 32GB of RAM. My work is slow delayed because of these issues.
JamieHave you installed all the updates? You should be on version 13.0.4 or 13.1.2.
Have you tried resetting preferences?
Have you tried disabling all third party plugins?
Are you running any font managers?
And it sounds like part of the problem might be corrupt fonts or corrupt OS font caches, see this article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-photoshop-cs5.html -
Adobe InDesign crashes frequently (Win8.1pro, CS6 Design Standard)
I am experiencing an issue with Adobe InDesign. It crashes frequently, 3 or 4 times over an 8 hour work day. There doesn't seem to be a pattern in the crashes, it isn't when I'm doing anything specific, it just happens seemingly randomly.
The computer is an HP laptop with Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center 64bit installed.

I have read about this issue and have tried clearing user preferences, disabling live preflight, running adobe updates, and I have done a complete uninstall, run the CC cleaner tool, and reinstalled CS6 Design Standard. The issue still persists.
Some more insight or suggestions for a solution would be much appreciated.
Thanks.Try updating to the latest version of IDCS6 which should be 8.0.2.

Hi folks,
I have a minute of video that I am trying to import as a PNG image sequence. Crash. Crash. Crash. If anyone has time to test ...
Alright .. 5 minutes later .. import sequence to stage OK .. Save OK .. Now this is what happens when publish to HTML via Toolkit for JS. Parent FLA now crashing Flash on launch.
Few hours later ..
The FLA is 89MB and there are 1400 JPEG images, average size about 40KB. After re-jigging the PNG sequence to JPG, I added a soundtrack got it to import the sequence and save. So far so good. Export via Toolkit for JS. Works fine in browser. Close FLA. Re-open FLA and crash.
Crash report reads at last line: Physical Memory: Page Size = 4k, Total = 12288M, Free = 17592186042454M
WTF!! Couldn't be a memory leak could it? NB I have 12GB RAM on board.

Thanks for the samples.
I created a new project in Flash CS6 and imported all the PNG sequence images. The images got imported without issues. However on trying to save this project, Flash crashed on Mac.
The issue is not reproducible on Windows though.
We are investigating this and will get back to you soon.

CC idml file crashes when opening in CS6
Client is using CC from a PC and I'm using a MAC, CS6 Version 8.0.1. Upon re-opening InDesign, it opens the last document, which is the one that just crashed the application. I am then able to "save as", but when i re-open that file, it's corrupt.
Hi Owen,
tried
Can you please let me know which plug-in it was that you deleted?
I have removing every one that I have and nothing has worked thus far.
I deleted Vector Scribe Studio, FontExplorererX and that is all I had... still nothing.
What did you remove and/or update?
Thank you muchly. -
Updating numbered Cross references crashes InDesign in both CS6 and CS4
I have a large medical journal that has over a hundered references, which I cross-referenced with the thinking that the client may well insert or amend the refernces. I was correct and now the customer has several references to go in I have updated the first in its numbered list at the end and gone to "update cross-refernce" and InDesign crashes. I have tried this in CS6 and CS4 but both crash.
This happens often, particularly with cross-references across documents that are managed with an InDesign book file. One common suggestion, in addition to updating the installed software with the latest patches, is to open all the files in the book before updating; this may or may not always succeed. Search this forum for cross-reference crash to see other suggested solutions.
Some of those posters may mention the commercial third-party Cross-References Plug-in for InDesign, from dtptools.com, and the poster's experience with it. It is reputed to be much more reliable than InDesign's built-in cross-references. It includes an option to convert the ID cross-references to its own, and that's reversible. There's a free trial. There's also a free reader plug-in for users who will need to open and edit documents that contain the plug-in's cross-references. The reader plug-in permits users to edit content in the documents without affecting the cross-references. HOWEVER, to edit or creatge new cross-references, users need the full plug-in.

Au crashes on launch (Mac CS6)
Au CS5.5 (4.0x1815) works fine.
Au CS6 was working before I upgraded to Lion, with 10.6.8
Any ideas how to fix? I trashed Prefs. Maybe I should un/reinstall.

Premiere Pro CC crashes when I import CS6 project files
I recently upgraded to CC, but every time I try to import my project file from Premiere Pro CS6 into Premiere Pro CC it crashes, or stops working if you like.
This is very irritating as I wanted to make use of the SpeedGrade workflow in the CC packaged between Premiere Pro CC.
My project file is no longer than 1 minute, however is does contain After Effects CS6 compositions, could this possible cause the crash? I have tried to import without these but it still stops working for some reasons.
Also I have no idea where to find the error log for crashes on Adobe software.I have experienced similar crashes and timeline playback failure when importing a CS6 project into CC or CC 2014. I had to rebuild two projects by hand before I realized it was a bug in CC converting the CS6 project files to CC project files. I don't think this has been addressed yet, but I have had better luck starting projects from scratch in CC, not cross-converting a CS6 project. Although I'm still experiencing issues with multicam projects in CC 2014.
Curious to hear others chime in on this. -

PS imports to AE crash after effects. CS6
Hi, this is a serious problem that need to be fixed fast as I'am on a tight deadline. I have an image that needs to be in its respective layers so when I import a PS i can set it to composite and I get my layer image right. Well everytime I do that, with out fail after effects crashes. I dont have the file open anywhere else so it can't be becuase the file is already in use.
Please help.
Thanks
George AllenOpen up you PSD file in Photoshop and make sure that the color space is RGB then save it under a different name. Make sure Optimize Compatibility is on. Sometimes that will fix a problematic file.
Try importing as a comp again. If that fails, post a screenshot of the file in Photoshop showing the layers and layer groups expanded. Maybe there's a goofy smart object in the PSD that's not compatible or maybe you have a smart filter applied that won't work in AE.
You could also tell us how you're trying to import the file. Editable layer styles???
You could also try importing the file with the Caps Lock key pressed. -

I do not think I have any HW accelerators.
I own two comlete Masters Collections CS6.
I have reinstalled Premiere Pro and ubgraded to the latest 6.05.
I have tried to used disk utilities to repair rights.
I have had full stop in my videoproduction on this machine for more then a week now. I was so happy with PR after I left Final Cut, but I cannot continnue like this.
The error message I get is:
"Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attemt to save your current project"
When I try to click OK nothing happens. I have to force quit.
On my Retina laptop I also have 10.9.2 and PR PRo 6.02 and it works fine.

[Explained] X crash at boot - prop. nvidia involved, but very odd
I've been having issues with the proprietary nvidia driver for some time now, but got it to work today and in turn figured out what the problem was, kind of.
So I installed the necesary stuff and made damn sure to disable auto start of Slim, to avoid any significant issues and it worked. I could start X via startx or 'systemctl start slim'', it made no difference, so obviously I thought it safe to enable autostart of slim.
That was a bit mistake. Next when I rebooted I had the same issue once again. Back screen and the fan going haywire.
So I decided to go with another manager and since I just installed LXDE, of course LXDM was appropiate and the issue was exactly the same.
in short:
startx [works]
systemctl start slim/lxdm [works]
systemctl enable slim/lxdm; reboot [crash boom bang]
The odd thing though, and I only tried this with slim, is that if .xinitrx is empty, slim has no issue starting.
Also, I had no such issues using the nouveau driver, so it would seem that the proprietary nvidia driver is to blame, somehow.
safe to say I'm very very confused.
I've looked at a few logs, but have found nothing that, to me at least, looked relevant.
So if you have any ideas, any at all, please do let me know. It's a fairly insignificant problem, all things considered, but I'd really like it fixed.
Best regards.

This a current kernel issue with 3.11 and 3.10.
You got two options.
1) Downgrade to 3.9
2) On my Zenbook i could enable "Fast CMS" which solved the problem.
I suspected that 3.11 for workgroups had something to do with it.
Anyway, while I'm grateful for your answer, I haven't the slightest idea what "fast cms" is in this content and obviously Google is not helpful help as CMS usually refer to content management system.
So if you could please give me a hint, it will be very much appreciated.
Best regards.
Sorry. In the BIOS on my Asus Zenbook there is something called "Fast CMS" in the boot section which is by default disabled. I have tried googling, but i got no idea what it does or what it is. I just read a thread where someone said it was solved by enabling it.
Well, I've got nothing like that sadly. Guess I'll have to wait for the kernel and nvidia folks to sort this out.
Thanks again. -
Photoshop CS4 and CC/CS6 crashing for no apparent reason (Windows 7)
I’m currently having a serious problem with my Photoshop CS4 where it continuously crashes, for no apparent reason, since July 16, 2013. I have done everything recommended via Adobe forum to try and fix this problem though it still persists. It crashes randomly and I am usually unable to use Photoshop for more than 20 minutes. Below is the error message that appeared when Photoshop crashed,

Since this incident, I thought that perhaps updating my Photoshop to the current version i.e. Photoshop CC would fix the problem. However, after downloading and using the trial version of the current Photoshop CC, the same exact problem keeps happening. This is the error message that appears when Photoshop CC crashes,

I tried re installing it but it crashes again I use CS6 version , but I have no Idea What causes it
First use CS6 menu Help>About Photoshop to check your version. The Latest perpetual versions are Mac version 13.0.6, Windows version 13.0.1.3 and the subscription version is 13.1.2. If you do no see one of these versions you need to use menu Help>Updates. If that does not update you to one of those version you may need to re-install CS6 on top of of your current install and use menu Help>Updates. CS6 is the buggiest version of Photoshop ever releases. You need the updates without the updates CS6 is very unstable.
If your CS6 is up to date use your Windows Acclivity Center Reliability History to locate your CS6 critical stopped working events and look at their details to see where CS6 is crashing. This may shed some light on your problem. CS6 use you Display adapters GPU for some features. If you have more then one GPU or you don't have the latest displaye adapter system device driver from its manufacturer installed CS6 may crash.
The following Shows Problems I have with Photoshop CC. The module IMSLib.dll will crash if I try to use Behance or Adobe exchange. It may have something to to with Flash panels which was removed in CC 2014. For Behance works in CC 2014 and Adobe exchange was removed in CC 2014.
