Crash on CS6

I am new to flash, I created a flash intro and saved it, when trying to reopen it to edit a crash iniates causing flash to close and leaving a crash report log on my desk top, why is this happening?

Try this: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990
The mistake I made was that I deleted the files, (InDesign Defaults and InDesign Saved Data), what I had to do was rename the folder that contains the file(s) (Version 8.0 folder). Renaming as opposed to Deleting so you can revert back to the originals if needed.
So, for;
Macintosh: Hard Drive/Users/<USER>/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/<Version #>/<Language>/(Note: Prior to version 6 [CS4] the language folder is not used) Rename the Version 8.0 folder something else, e.g., "Old 8.0"
Do the same for;
Macintosh: Hard Drive/Users/<USER>/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/<Version #>/<Language>/ (Note: Prior to version 6 [CS4] the language folder is not used)
Rename the Version 8.0 folder something else, e.g., "Old 8.0"
Now start InDesign. This is what worked for me. You might want to try deleting just the files ("InDesign Defaults" and "Saved Data") from their respective folders before doing the whole folder rename way.

  • CRASH: Flash CS6 crashes with authortime sharing...

We're using Flash CS6 to generate 2D animation data for a game project.  We have several files that comprise our animations and make extensive use of authortime sharing.  We've noticed a few things that make authortime sharing problematic:
When changing symbols in a source FLA, we oftentimes get a "Duplicate Items Folder" when opening a dependent FLA.  We've written scripts to clean these up automatically, but it can be quite troublesome.  Why is it that Flash can't detect changes properly in dependent files?
In some cases, when #1 manifests, it will create several duplicate folders (i.e. symbols / symbols copy 1 / symbols copy n).
Flash CS6 straight up crashes on us sometimes.
We've got a file now that crashes Flash CS6 every time it's opened.  It seems to crash when updating symbol references.  I've verified this by moving the file to another folder on my machine (thus Flash can't find the source files to update from).  When the imported FLA's can't be found the crash no longer occurs.
    I've uploaded the crashes here:
    https://s3.amazonaws.com/flash-crashes/FlashPro+crash+log+(3).mdmp
    https://s3.amazonaws.com/flash-crashes/FlashPro+crash+log+(4).mdmp

    https://s3.amazonaws.com/flash-crashes/FlashPro+crash+log+(7).mdmp
Please advise!  We'd love to use authortime sharing, but it really just seems broken.

Nvidia Graphics Processor (windows Vista) crashes on CS6 and works on CS5

    Hi Steve in Palm Desert!
I see you are running Windows Vista. You know that Vista is not supported for CS6, right? It is not prevented from running, but not supported.
That known, what video card do you have ? Do you have the most updated driver?  My laptop is brand new and I had an outdated video driver right upon delivery.
    Maybe that could help.
Check out the following links about supported OS and Video cards:

  • Media Encoder crash in CS6. Could not read from the source. Check if it has moved or been deleted.

I'm having a problem getting Media Encoder to get past the dynamic link portion of encoding a time line sequence.
I can send it over to Media Encoder, but it crashes consistently after the yellow bar saying something about dynamic link.
I have CS6 installed in my computer here at work, it previously had CS5.5 installed on it.
I read some answers about CS4 having this problem and tried to create a shortcut and put it in the dynamic link folder, but that didnt work.
I would hate to have to reinstall the software here at work as the IT department is a pain- but I can't encode video on one of the computers we use here.
Any ideas on what may be happening and how I can solve the problem?
    Thanks!
Its a Dell Workstation with Windows 7 Ultimate installed dualE5620 processors at 2.4GHz. .
only 6 GB RAM, and a RAID 5 hard drive setup with 3- one gb drives giving the C drive space of 1.8Gigs
Its got an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 420 video card.
I'm upgrading this computer to better work with editing video, so this is a good time to get this all cleaned up.
Im adding RAM (24GBs)- replacing the video card to a GTX 780 3GB running 3 monitors.
I'd also like to either split up the RAID (ugh)..or just add 2 internal SAS HDDs. to split up the video and the cache and the OS/programs as is usually done with editing video.
Thanks for your help in advance...
    Mike

    ...more information...problem still not solved....
After searching more in the forums, I tried a couple more things:
I tried to restart AME and clearing the preferences. This didnt help.
I also deleted the ...appData/Roaming/Adobe/AdobeMediaEncoder/6.0 folder and all subfolders   No help here either.
I also tried to import the sequence via AME rather than export via PP. This worked. The sequence loaded immediately and processed perfectly.
When I export via PP, I hit the queue button, it hangs for about 3 mins, then the yellow bar appears saying "Connecting to Dynamic Link server"
it then hangs for approx 3 mins again and then I get the Failed alert.
    the error log reports:
    Encoding failed
Could not read from source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted.
    any help available here????

  • CS5/6 Driver Error leads to constant crash in CS6. I've tried everything...

I've tried everything I can think of, anyway. (Wouldn't fit in the title) Pardon my nubbishness in advance. Sorry, I've been searching for the answer for two days (on and off) for a solution, but to no avail.
So I was using CS5.1 for a while with no problems. Everything went well until one day it gave me an error on hardware acceleration. All it did was give me a scrubby zoom. I spent a few days researching it and eventually gave up on finding a solution.
So I thought I'd try out CS6, to see if it fixed anything. It doesn't. It's worse, even. It crashes randomly at various actions (like switching tools, changing layers, saving), and it crashes without fail if I use liquefy or transform a layer and then try to duplicate it (I'm just trying to make a gif, darnit!) If I'm just drawing and erasing and using undo, it doesn't crash as much. Scrubby zoom is still a problem.
My driver is up to date according to the HP website:
    Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver2010-12-03 , Version:8.15.10.2189, 78.05M
It's really old, but HP isn't updating it. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Moot point.
The driver is compatible with OpenGL.
I also tried this driver, but apparently it's not compatible.
    Additional info/things I've tried:
    Processor: Intel Core i5 CPU M 450 @ 2.40GHZ 2.40 GHz
    RAM: 4GB
    System type: 64-bit
    No third-party plug-ins.
    60% memory available to Photoshop.
Photoshop is updated to the latest version.
Windows is updated (I spent a freggin day trying to figure that out because updates were frozen, and then spent 3 hours trying to figure out why F8 wouldn't bring up advanced boot options so I can delete old update logs so I can update windows so I can get photoshop working--TO NO AVAIL)
GPU support option is greyed out, so it's already turned off.
When it crashes, all Windows says is "Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working".
Then the details afterwards note "files that help describe the problem", which include...

So I looked up other issues regarding "aticfx64.dll", and nothing helps. The most similar thread I could fine was http://forums.adobe.com/message/5149760, but I don't have anything related to ATI, so it doesn't help. > _< Everything was working fine before, so I don't know why this happened.
Please help. ; ^; I always try to figure it out on my own before I ask for help, but I'm totally stumped. If you need any additional info, please tell me. I'll try to get it (if I know how to access it). I'll keep searching for answers.
My last options are either to downgrade again, or to upgrade my video card, but I have no idea where to start! I don't know what kind of video card I need.

  • HDD crash Photoshop CS6 won't start - scratch disk error

  • Liquid Layout crashing InDesign CS6

I was using liquid layout - pinning a graphic-  and when I tried to resize, the whole program crashed.   Every time I try to resize - on any page in the doc, it crashes the program.
InDesign CS6.   Liquid page rule:  controlled by master [which is object based].   Objects move with page.
I've tried everything, for hours now.   I have no idea why it was fine, then all the sudden it's broken.
    Very frustrated.

How would you go about exporting your alternate layout alone for print?

  • HDR Efex Pro2 Crashing Photoshop CS6?

I have been using Nik HDR Efex Pro2 with Photoshop CS6 successfully for over a year on my aging MAC Pro and OS 10.6.8. Now all of a sudden HDR Efex Pro 2 crashes Photoshop as soon as I launch it.
Nik suggests my GPU is out of date but how could it be fine one day and out of date the next. To make sure I ran an update on the MAC OS software. (I cannot upgrade beyond 10.6.8 because some of my software won't be compatible.) I also tried their suggested replacing the .cfg code in the Nik HDR preference folder. In addition I did an update on CS6 and uninstalled and reinstalled HDR Efex Pro2.
During the time it went from working to not working I might have allowed the recommended updates such as iTunes, Airport, etc. Flash also wanted to be updated and I have heard of some different types of conflicts with this from others.
    Can anyone offer any advice?

You should try installing the very latest version of the HDR Efex Pro 2 software. I installed the latest Nik collection and now it is working in CS6 without crashing upon launch. You might want to contact Nik support and describe what has happened, tell them your system specifics and they can determine which version will work on Windows 7 & CS6.
I assume some update I did made it so the older version of HDR Efex Pro 2 was no longer compatible.

  • Noise Ninja Crashes Photoshop CS6

I copied the Noise Ninja Plug In from CS5.1 to CS6 but when I try to use it, CS6 crashes.
    Any suggestions/ideas.

Try reinstalling as Pierre suggests. If you manually just pulled the plug-in and dumped it in the plug-ins folder, you may have missed a resource file or messed with the Plug-in DRM.
Also, please submit all crash reports with your information and some details if you haven't already:

  • SelectToolByName intermittently crashes (Illustrator CS6, OSX)

    Hi,
I've been writing some tool switching code, and have been having an issue using Illustrator CS6 (16.0.4) on OSX (using either mountain lion or mavericks) where setting SetSelectedToolByName eventually crashes due to an EXC_BAD_ACCESS error, even when passing in basic string constants.
Here's a simple example based on the Annotator sample code, where I setup a thread to periodically switch between two common tools after selecting the Annotator tool:
Usually, this code will work X number of iterations before crashing, where X can be anywhere from 15 to 200 or 750ish or not at all. This ultimately feels like a  multi-threaded race condition at work.
    So what's the stacktrace?
    There's three scenarios/stacktraces to show:
    1) First type of crash resulting in EXC_BAD_ACCESS error, while running Illustrator api under XCode's debugger. This is all the same state of the code for the screenshots below when the breakpoint hits.
full-size images also available at: http://imgur.com/a/Iy6tF
    2) Second type of crash is similar, but giving a SIGABRT message:
full-size images also available at: http://imgur.com/a/ERCCD
    3) While this sample code doesn't seem to generate an adobe 'bug report' (it just hard-crashes with no 'report crash to adobe' dialog), my main app that uses SetSelectedToolByName has generated the following crash log:

I'd love to hear a response from Adobe on this. It's been causing me weeks of frustration.

    Another update,
I'm also observing the same crash using Illustrator CC, and using the other method of setting tools by first acquiring a tool handle.
Here's the code that uses the handles instead, similar  to other code found in the samplecode folder:
...and here's the first type of crash observed:
    ...and the second type:

  • Idml open and idml Save As crash InDesign CS6 8.0.1

    I am using:
    2012 MacMini
    Mac OSX 10.8.3
    2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 gb 1600 MHz DDR3
    InDesign CS6
    Version 8.0.1
    I have run software update
Opening an idml file crashes InDesign.
Saving a file to idml crashes InDesign.
Assistance would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you.

Via Font Book, I checked all fonts with pro in the name. All appear OK.
I created a new document with nothing in it with same result. My crash report (http://pastebin.com/Rgd5AAHZ) was a little different under VM Regions.
Do you believe a re-install would solve the issue?
Thanks again for your help. It is appreciated.

  • Liquify Tool Freezes and Crashes Photoshop CS6

This did not happen with CS5 or with the Beta version of CS6.  I have an integrated graphics card (Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset, and 6 GB RAM).  Can anyone help?

I'm having the same problem and have the same graphics card... if you can call it that I guess. The thing is, when I was using the 30-day free trial of the Creative Cloud, I used Liquify with no problem. I just tried using it for first time since I upgraded my account last week - and it freezes/crashes every single time. I tried restarting PC, ensuring the driver is up to date, etc... for three hours and I've yet to get it to work.
I understand it's crappy for graphics, but just confused since it worked before! Any thoughts?

  • Audition CS5.5 crashes opening CS6 and CC sessions, but worked fine previously

    Hi Guys,
The radio station I work at, operates 2 iMacs using Snow Leopard. One computer has Audition CS5.5 installed and the other used to have CS6 and now runs CC.
When I first started working here, the CS5.5 machine would open CS6 sesx files without issue, but for the last few months, every session crashes the program when opening the file. Same happens with CC sesx files.
Restrictions don't allow to have the CS5.5 machine upgraded to CC, so I don't have the opportunity to try a new version.
I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue and was able to find a work around.
    Thanks in advance

If you want to send me one (or two) of the sesx files which don't open in Au5.5 I will be happy to check them out and advise
You can send them to me via the contact details on the AATranslator web site
    Edit:
The problem is the reference to the 10 band Graphic Equalizer effect
I removed it and all is good
I didn’t have time to isolate it any further than that

That is just the first chunk of text that seemed relevant to the crash. If more is needed I can easily recreate the scenario and get the whole report.
I initially tried using the latest release of Indesign CS6 (8.0.2) with the same results. I thought that going to a previous version would help. If anyone can make sense of the text above, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Hi Danariotti,
My workmate and I are having the same problem here, with the same report you are getting with Indesign CS6.
This started with the upgrade to Yosemite, so we trialled the latest update to Smartstream with Adobe Indesign CC 2014 but this caused the programme to shutdown as soon as you start running indesign. I am hesitant to fully upgrade our Smartstream, as it is expensive for an unstable plug-in. The problem we are having is Adobe blame HP Smartstream and they blame Apple and back around again, we don't seem to get much support. Can you tell me if you get an answer to this please.
    Cheers Tony
