Crash on Paste (Ctrl+V)

I am using IE8. From 2 days, when I try to "paste" on it, I get crash ... have you seen this issue by now ?

CS3 crashes on paste text box

Hi!
Running CS 3 on dual core intel 2 GB ram only program open. About 50% of the time the machine crashes when pasting a text box from one doc to another. We've repaired permissions, reinstalled InDesign w/ all the upgrades and still it happens. We have 3 machines all exactly alike including type & this is the only one it happens on. Please help. I don't know if it's really any sort of answer but I run 3 monitors. I had 2 off a Radeon X1900 XT including a 30", and 1 on a NVidia 7300 on a Mac Pro. It worked great on Tiger but under Leopard I would get at least 20 crashes/freezes a day, particularly InDesign CS3. This morning I had a brain f**t and put in another 7300 card and hooked up 1 monitor to each card.
Surprise, surprise! I haven't had a crash or freeze all day.

InDesign crashes when pasting from another application

I encounter a persistent error. It initially started when pasting text from MS Word 2010. I tried various options - with and without formatting etc - the result is the same, ID crashed.
I even tried to paste into Notepad first, but the problem persists even when pasting plain text.
Any advise is appreciated.

Crashing when pasting plain text from notepad lets Word off the hook, I think, and means we need to look for a differnt problem on the system.
Let's start by finding out the version of ID you are using (including the patch level) and the operating system. Do you have a font manager installed? how about any third party plugins for ID?
Does this happen if you try to paste text into a new document? How about if you create a new user account and use that?

Disable Copy/Paste / Ctrl-Y and CTRL-V

Hi,
is there any way to disable the Copy/Paste function in the SAPGUI? Especially disabling the key commands CTRL-Y and CTRL-C.
The customer would like to disable any kind of copy function

I have seen this before for ALV grids, but am not sure whether it was a missing feature or infact an intended and possibly optional one.
I suspect the former case to be true, so you will need to use SAPGui engineering to disable it and ensure that the users cannot connect from a machine they have control over to the server or an older SAPGui version. These sort of preferences have typically also been HKEY_CURRENT_USER settings so you might have trouble retro-fitting it as well.
Which SAPGui version are you using? There is a new "SAPGui Security Center" available in 7.20 which might offer this control (amongst several others).

Annoying bug - program crashes when "Paste as Background" is used

Guys, I have a nasty bug which is making edits VERY time-consuming, and I'm hoping that someone can help.
When I wish to replace a slide background, either with a new background copied from Paint, or from another slide (using the Copy Background function), it basically crashes every single time if I try and perform this more than once. (ie. I can change one background, save, close down the program entirely, restart, and I'm fine. If I try to do a second "paste as background", the screen freezes up badly, the slide being pasted into in filmstrip view goes white, and I cannot save the changes, though it appears to save. See the images below.
It's gotten worse as the project has increased in size. It's now pretty big - 182 slides - though I would have expected the software to handle it. It was occurring noticeably when the project was only 50 odd slides though.

1) I copy.
2) I paste.
3) It's crashed. Screen frozen, slide being pasted into white in filmstrip view. Saving is not possible.
4) If I restart the entire program it works OK again and I can retrieve the project up to the PRIOR save (ie. I lost work!!). If I close just that project I get the following error, and I can't open effectively. This error presumably holds the key to what just went wrong with the crash.

Sorry, but once you surpassed about 65 slides you entered the danger zone. Frankly, I'm surprised that's the only issue you are seeing with that many slides!
The recommendation is to keep projects somewhere between 50-65 slides.
Bottom line is that you need to break the project apart into different sections and make smaller segments you link together.

FM 8.0p277 crashes when pasting DITA xref?

For FM8p277, DITA.
FrameMaker hard-crashes (a.k.a. "bombs out") if I try to copy-and-paste a DITA
xref tag and its contents into another location in the XML topic file.
Has anyone else seen this?
I have a couple of crash logs I can file as a bug, but before I do I thought I'd see if this was a known problem...

This once again seems to be one of the myriad fleeting idiosyncrasies I encounter on a ongoing basis in the FM8 DITA editing environment.
Later, in a different file, I saved the file, held my breath, and tried copying an xref -- that time it worked. But in another file "some thing" makes the same operation impossible.
This despite the fact that I constantly make sure that I'm not adding extraneous "fidgets" in any of my DITA files, along with the now-reflexive use of
ESC v d to ensure valid file structure. Sigh...
Long story shorter, I'm just adding this curio to my growing list of unsolved mysteries for FM8 DITA...

Thunderbird Crashes on selection +"ctrl+c" or mouse right click

Whenever I attempt to copy text from within a mail message, by selecting text & pressing ctrl+C TB crashes,
or Just on Mouse Right Click TB Crashes

So, I finally did a fresh install of OSX on iMac, and the right click came back.
I think there was something corrupted on the system that somehow showed up after Adobe CS2. I reinstalled CS2 but up to now, no problems at all.

InDesign CS5 crashes when I paste text, a text frame or a graphic from another InDesign CS5 document. I upgraded from OSX 10.6.8 over the weekend.

In-place upgrades are always a crapshoot. Try trashing the prefs (see Replace Your Preferences), but most likely you'll have to reinstall ID at the very least. YOu may have to do a clean install on the OS as well.

you can disable this copy and paste action innumber of ways
add a listener to the textfield and consume those event so that it wont propagate to the ui keybindings.
set the action to be null for those keystrokes.

map.put(KeyStroke.getKeyStroke(KeyEvent.VK_V, KeyEvent.VK_CONTROL), null);
or
map.put(KeyStroke.getKeyStroke(KeyEvent.VK_V, KeyEvent.VK_CONTROL), "none");
Same for CTRL+C, for defeated the copy action.

Flash Pro CS6 Crash when pasting object

Hi
I am finding that Flash Pro CS6 crashes when you try to paste an object from one FLA library to another.
This only seems to occur when the object contains a text object with an embedded font.
Can you help with this problem please.

i was having the same problem and found the solution from Adobe.
you have to go to control panel - hardware and sound - display -
change the size of the text to the smaller one 100%
REstart the os and start adobe flash

Adobe PDF Printer crashes when pasting in the filename field

Greetings, first off there is no similar problem with any freeware pdf printers so I want to rule out my system config as being the culprit. This only happens in Adobe PDF.
How to reproduce the problem? Have something in your clipboard and try to paste it into the filename field when printing the file as a pdf - you should have now crashed whatever you were trying to print and the program behind it.
Please make a fix for this, it is ridiculous that I have to install a second, freeware, pdf printer because thousand dollar software is not working properly. And I have lost tons of receipts and work this way.

I'm having a similar issue, on windows 7, 32 bit desktop system, using Windows Live Mail, with Acrobat X standard:
Any time I try to "print to pdf" an email, just attempting to enter a file name for the pdf (no cut-and-paste), the dialogue box freezes, I can enter several characters, then the keyboard just freezes, the dialogue box becomes unresponsive. WLM ends up crashing. My work around is to not attempt to specify a name, just go with what Acrobat supplies, typically some thing like 00008.pdf. Then edit the name, and/or location, within Windows Explorer.
I've tried repairing the install, believe that actually worked, a few months back. Tried again today when the problem cropped up again, but repairing the install didn't help.
This has been ongoing for me for some months now. Not situation normal. Don't want to be snippy, but seems like tech support response is VERY slack...

Captivate 8 crashes when pasting a text caption or slides in a responsive project. Solutions?

This version of Captivate has been fairly reliable, at least compared to versions 1-4 that I have worked with previously, however, five minutes into my first responsive project, I am getting fatal errors when I try to paste any text caption between slides. I also get fatal errors when trying to paste slides between responsive projects.
Has anyone experienced this, and more importantly, does anyone have a solution?
I am running Windows 8 SP1, Intel I7

For posterity, seems like there are issues with certain custom captions and responsive projects. After reinstall, clearing every cache I am aware of, and running the clean preferences .bat, my custom captions no longer appear in the properties window, and I am able to copy stock captions between slides.
Not sure if the reinstall was necessary or not. Here are the folders that appeared to cache data and the location of the .bat
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 8 x64\utils\CleanPreferencesWin.bat"
"C:\Users\Brom\AppData\Local\Adobe\Captivate 8.0"
"C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning Assets\Layouts"
If anyone has input as to what might make a custom caption crash a responsive project, I'd be interested. I wouldn't have bothered with custom captions, except that the stock ones are so amateurish.

Boris title3D crashing when pasting Japanese from Word

Doing Japanese subtitling for a feature doc.
Not sure if this holds true for all versions of Word, but figured this might save someone a lot of pain.
When I try and copy Japanese text from Word into Boris Title3D, FCP consistently crashes. The solution, open up the doc in TextEdit and copy from there.
I am using a relatively old version of Word. May not hold true for later versions.

FM 11 freezing/crashing when using Ctrl+L (refresh)

Hi everyone,
when I try to use the shortcut Ctrl+L in order to refresh the document display, FM 11 always freezes and sooner or later it crashes completely.
Using Window > Refresh does not cause any problems.
Anyone else got this issue?

I found the problem:
It was a FrameScript which had been loaded on start-up and used the same shortcut. I changed the shortcut for the script and now I can refresh with Ctrl+L.
