Crash related to rtsshooks64.dll

Hi,
I appreciate that this is a fairly generic request and I can't provide much detail but I'm happy to try to respond and investigate further if needed.
Situation, I'm using MSA Afterburner 4.1 to slightly OC my MSI GTX980.
I'm playing X-Rebirth currently and experienced a lot of random crashes during gameplay.
I was working with the Egosoft support through the crash dumps and their developers pointed out that many crashes are related to rtsshooks64.dll. I assume thats a library used for the statistic server part of Afterburner, correct?
Is there a way I can eliminate those crashes without loosing the OC via Afterburner?
Thanks very much,
End.
OS: Win 8.1 64bit, latest Nvidia driver

The crash is unrelated to the clock settings. The game crashes (because of mentioned dll) also with stock settings.

  • Access 2010 SP1 - random crashes relating to vbe7.dll

We are experencing the same problem as described here in a post on
Microsoft Answers.  However was are also still occasionally seeing the problem after uninstalling SP1.
Has anyone come across any better workarounds?
Microsoft: can we please have some information on when this is likey to be fixed - this is a major problem!
After installing Office 2010 SP1, you may receive random crashes when opening objects in certain databases and when trying to open the VBA window in those databases.  If you look in the event viewer the crash info may look similar to the following:
    Faulting application: msaccess.exe
    Version: 14.0.6024.1000
    Stamp: 4d83e4fc
    faulting module: vbe7.dll
    version: 7.0.16.19
    stamp: 4d430aec
    Workaround:
Microsoft is aware of the issue and it is currently being investigated.  In order to work around the problem, you can try the following:
    1.      Make a copy / backup of your database.
    2.      On the problematic machine decompile the database by running the following from a Run command line: MSACCESS.EXE <path to database file> /decompile
    (example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\MSAccess.exe "C:\folder\database.accdb"  /decompile)
    3.      Close the database.
    4.      Open the database again normally.
In addition to this, if you experience the crash please send the error report when prompted to do so after the crash.

    Hello,
Have you tried the workaround? It should work after you decompile your databases.
And if there is better solution released by Microsoft, you will be able to find them in certain KB like:

  • Frequent crashes on module PlugPlug.dll

Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 has been crashing for me frequently if the app is left open for extended periods of time. I notice it most when I've left it running overnight or if I'm away from my computer for a few hours during the day.
The most common reason for Dreamweaver to crash is the PlugPlug.dll file. Here is the most recent error entry from my security logs. The problem started on 2/5/2015 and I've had 12 crashes since then.

    hi Michael,
Can you please provide us complete logs. To collect log -
Create crash logs on win –
You need to add these entries in registry.
Go to run, type regedit and enter. This will open Registry Editor.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting->Right Click->New->Key. New key named "New Key #1" will be created. Rename it to LocalDumps.
Add two entries LocalDumps. Right click on LocalDumps->New->Expandable String Value (REZ_EXPAND_SZ). Double click on the  entry created and add value name : DumpFolder and value data : %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps.
Right click on LocalDumps->New->DWORD (32 bit) Value(REG_DWORD). Double click on the value created and add value name : DumpType and value data :1
Next time when the application crashes you will find the crash dump at C:\Users[UserName]\AppData\Local\CrashDumps. Dumps will be created only in case of crash and not hang.
    Thanks!

  • Application crash with error ntdll.dll 00018fea

    Hi,
I have a problem with my app.exe build.
I attach a simple code; the Vi open and close a TDM file.

I've tried to build the Vi on another Pc Desktop with Labview and here if I run the exe it works fine.
On the two PC I have LV8.5; the build options are the same.
On the notebook I've try also to reinstall LV8.5 but I got the same error.

Never ever do that! You were very lucky that both ntdll.dll files were probably the same version so the exchange didn't do much but ntdll.dll is one of the core Windows DLLs were everything goes through that normal applications may access in Windows. A mixup in such a part because of incompatitible ntdll.dll with other system API DLLs might prevent your computer entirely from starting up even in safe mode.
You should not attempt to ever switch system DLLs between different computers. In such behaviour lays insanity. If you expect a system DLL to be corrupt attempt to do a repair installation instead. Also Windows nowadays has techniques to detect if a system DLL got corrupt and will attempt to repair it, though I guess if ntdll.dll would go belly up it's likely your computer won't even start up.

These happens in both kind of messages that was showing three times each. After this ,Itunes can sinc music videos, photos, but I canot upgrade my ipod!
Detail:copy photo files from ipod to computer works normal.I use panda antivirus but without it in the computer, the problem persists.Yesterday I get the last ITunes, but the problem persists.I unistall anything about apple ,install the new Itunes and the problem remains.
And this problem occurs only after I connect ANY ipod to the computer, open Itunes for hear music, for example, still works OK.

I have been battling against the same issue for over 2 weeks now. After tracing what was happening on the machine to find that the crashes we're happening slightly after Apple's program we're identifying the Time Zone of the computer, I had the idea of checking the date/time properties of my Windows XP machine.
I unchecked the box to update the time from a time server (Internet time) and it's seem that this was what was causing itunes and its descendant to crash.
Now it seems it turned back to normal operation.
Please let me know if this fixes it for you as well.

  • Server manager crashing - Fault Module clr.dll

The Server manager is crashing. As soon as you try to open Server Manager it crashes instantly with the failing module being clr.dll
This seems to relate to .net framework and after looking for a hotfix it says to contact Microsoft (who have been less than helpful so far).
    Things i have tried:
= Installing the hotfix which results in an error about the update not being needed or something else on the server stopping the update.
= Uninstalling .net framework for reinstalling, but to uninstall a service/feature it launches into the server manager, so just results in a crash.
= Tried uninstalling via Powershell, but as soon as you open powershell it also crashes!
Resulting error for both powershell and server manager is clr.dll. Basically anything relating to .net framework has stopped working and i need a fix! Thanks!

We are referring to Windows Server 2012 R2 (sorry).
You open the Server Manager, it shows launches and then says not responding instantly.
You can either check for solutions or close. The following error messages is contained with it:

I am sure this is related to .Net Framework 4, because my Avast Management console and Powershell have also stopped working and result with the same error when launched. I could be wrong though, but that is my thoughts....

  • Photoshop CS5 64-bit Crashing due to CoolType.dll

Spent 30 minutes on the phone with Adobe's fairly useless tech support, who asked me to do all the things I had already tried (delete prefs, turn of Font Preview, rename the scripting support plug-in, turn off OpenGL, etc.) in order to find out why my Photoshop CS5 64-bit on Windows 7 started crashing whenever I tried to use the text / type tool or opened a document with a type layer selected.
He thought he was done giving "support" when he said "Well, I suggest you just use the 32-bit version". When I reminded him that that didn't actually find / fix / solve the problem, he put me on hold again, then told me to use the System File Checker (sfc.exe) tool to check CoolType.dll, which is what's crashing Photoshop.
He told me that I would have to call Microsoft, because CoolType.dll is a system file and Adobe doesn't support those.
Hmm, I guess he didn't realize that CoolType.dll is an ADOBE system file that ADOBE put on my system.
Anyway...anybody know how to fix / replace CoolType.dll so that I can go back to using the 64-bit version of Photoshop CS5? I checked Adobe's website and couldn't find anyplace to download the current version.
    Thanks in advance!
    Gensy

I'm having this issue too.  Not sure if I have two issues or it's all related to this.  Most of the time, when I go to a folder to save an image, the program just dissapears with no error message at all and all my work is lost.  Anything I did during that session in PS is lost, including any modification of preferences, new actions made, etc.  I have tried reinstalling window 7 and CS5 and even on a clean system the problem occurs.  I have also tried uninstalling all non-essential fonts and deleting the font cache.  And, all the stuff you mentioned such as preferences in PS and dissabling  OpenGL, etc.  and have had three Microsoft tech sessions.  They don't see any evidence of the crash on my system so can't help with it.

  • Recurring JVM Crash related to jai.RasterAccessor?

We are having an intermittent problem with our JVM crashing and CF restarting on an almost daily basis. We are running CF                                      8,0,1,195765 in a Windows environment with JDK 1.6.0_04. The dump is below. Every time that this occurs, the "current compiletask" is the same (as listed below). Our JVM settings are also as follows with 1GB of Heap Space allocated:
    -server -Dsun.io.useCanonCaches=false -XX:MaxPermSize=192m -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:NewSize=256m -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:SurvivorRatio=4 -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError -Dcoldfusion.rootDir={application.home}/../ -Dcoldfusion.libPath={application.home}/../lib
I'm not sure if upgrading our JDK will help solve this problem but I'm thinking that there is some code somewhere that is calling the javax.media.jai.RasterAccessor java method and that is the root of this problem. I do not know what code might be calling this Java method but I was thinking that it might be related to CFDocument or CFImage. However, our use of these tags is pretty minimal.
    Here is the dump:

Yes, that site is down. That is why I mentioned using google cache. Just google that url, and use the "Cached" option.
There is a lot of information in the link. So I would definitely review it to see if it matches your situation. But here is one snippet:
"While these errors are found among various Sun bug reports, the only easy solution is an indirect one, to disable the HotSpot compiler entirely with the -Xint optional argument which forces it to only run in interpreted mode. The errors might be caused when HotSpot begins to optimized certain frequently run methods or tight blocks of code. When this happens the compiler will convert the interpreted bytecode to native code and tuck it away in a little piece of memory. The compiler probably needs a little chunk of contiguous memory to store the optimized native code and the OS was unable to provide it. Notice the errors usually indicate that attempts to allocate 1-2MB of memory failed, even though its often noted that neither the JVM heap nor the OS memory usage has maxed out at the time of crash.
A more careful approach to resolve the crashes would be..."

  • VB6 applications crashes when calling C# dll's in production environment

    Hi All,
I'm basically .NET developer, not much aware of VB language or VB visual Basic 6.0.
We are trying to work out with VB application running/ using C# dll's. The scenario is like VB exe applications using C# dll's and C# dll's are referenced to VB application using .tlb file.
In development environment(debug mode) the application looks fine and working as expected. But when the same code is put into production environment VB applications are crashing when pointing to C# method calls. We trying to know the reason but application
is getting killed. The issue seems to be sporadic and not able to catch in MsgView(debug tool).
In one more scenario, the VB application is loading C# form and getting data back to VB but when we repeat the same workflow again application is crashing either in 2nd attempt or 3rd attempt.
Has anybody seen such issue? Any input is welcomed.
    Thanks,
    Shesh

  • PXI RT 8.6 crash with error lvrt.dll load address 0x1924000

I have an application developed with LabView RT 8.6 that run 24h/day and randomly crash evry 3-10 day with this error:
LVRT.DLL load address 0x1924000. Attached I put log file available after restarting PXI.
I dont found any information on this error, and it's very hard to found the soluction... any idea?
    Attachments:
    lvrt_err_log.txt ‏66 KB

Application was developed with LV 8.6, actually I have installed a LV 8.6.1 in my lap top where I develope the application. I attach some print screen of configuration of PXI.
Application running on PXI consist of several never-ending loop, one of this is a time-critical loop where I from CAN, DAQ, and I send data via CAN. There is other Hardware-timed loop that comunicate via TCP/IP with PLC and with host computer (but application on host is not developed with LV, use a client socket to comunicate with PXI for reading data).
Error Log show alwayis the same error, and for my opionon, there is no relation for when the event occur, can be in any moment.
Application in pxi has some VI that are published as web service for diagnostic only, but there is no any interaction with user, (no keyboard and no mouse), it's a silent application, that read some encoder, calculate speed and aceleration, generate some output and send all data acquired via tcp/ip... 24 h/day.
Strange is that error position is always at 0x1924000, in all the error log!
Unfortunatly system is used all the day, and it's very far from office, so debug can be done only at specific day, when production is off... and internet is unavailable...
Enabling the debug mode, It's possible to have more information about the problem without changing the performance of the system?
    Thank's for you help!

  • VBAI crashes when using NiViAsrl.dll

I hope this isn't too much of a noob question...
Suddenly last week, without any warning, VBAI would no longer start.  All my versions of VBAI had the same failure.  When launched the splash screen would declare "Initializing Plug-ins: nnnnnnn"  then "Validating Plug-ins" ... and that was it.  It would just sit there, spinning my mouse pointer until a message box proclaimed "NI Vision Builder nnnn has stopped working".  The poor thing never got past the splash screen.  It did not matter what version I ran.  I tried 3.6, 2009 SP1, 2010, and 2011 SP1, all had the same symptom.  I un-installed them.  I re-installed them.  Same problem.
In the Windows control panel I checked the event viewer, looking for more insight on the error.  Here is a list of errors that occurred within 10 seconds of the crash:
    Events:
    E1) LabVIEW information:     Error: 404 "Not Found" for "/national instruments/vision/vision builder ai/4.2.0/", file "c:/program files (x86)/national instruments/shared/ni webserver/www/national instruments/vision/vision builder ai/4.2.0/": Can't access URL
    E2) LabVIEW information:     Error: 404 "Not Found" for "/national instruments/vision/vision builder ai/commserver", file "c:/program files (x86)/national instruments/shared/ni webserver/www/national instruments/vision/vision builder ai/commserver": Can't access URL
    E3) Vision Builder.exe    4.2.0.0    4d2fa0d5    NiViAsrl.dll    5.0.0.49152    4c23895a    c0000005    0000ac83    2394    01cd5ae877235c04    C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Vision Builder AI 2011\Vision Builder.exe    C:\Program Files (x86)\IVI Foundation\VISA\WinNT\Bin\NiViAsrl.dll    be9fb414-c6db-11e1-82af-0024e8840468
    -- Events 1 & 2 above occurred because there is no directory ".../www/national instruments/vision/vision builder ai/4.2.0/"
-- Event 3 is a mystery to me.  The file is there, it is 79KB, and was created 6/24/2010, but I don't know what it does.
    Questions:
Q1)  How do I get / install the directory and all the files that go into: "c:/program files (x86)/national instruments/shared/ni webserver/www/national instruments/vision/ bla bla bla bla bla  ?
Q2) Do I need the afore mentioned files?
    Q3) What is "NiViAsrl.dll"?
    Q4) How do I go about re-installing "NiViAsrl.dll"?
    Thanks and admiration:
T1) Thank you in advance for assisting me with this pressing issue.
T2) My response will be delayed until sometime Friday morning.
T3) Your knowledge on such matters as these are worthy of great praise.

The problem was the NIvisa ini file MAX was reading.
    I deleted the ports from
    C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\NIvisa\visaconf.ini
    Rebooted
    And everything is cool.
     - That means VBAI 2011 SP1 doesn't lock up when it starts.
Both visaconf.ini files are attached inside the .ZIPs
This problem was first noticed on June 29th, so note when software was uninstalled in the report.  As part of my initial troubleshooting I got out the biggest hammer I could find and deleted all versions of VBAI and any vision related tools, and tried to repair Device Drivers Aug 2011, and tried to install Device Drivers feb 2012, and Re-installed VBAI 2011 SP1.  I still have to put vision acquisition (etc.) back on.
A knowledge base article was helpful in finding the ini file location.

  • Crash Crystal Report Ntdll.dll

    Post Author: ringo73
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
I have a problem that when I close the report it crashes the whole application. It happens on Windows Vista Business. What the XP reports is that the module that crshes is ntdll.dll (version 6.0.6000.16386).Product: Crystal Report 11 CRDEVELOPER FULL
    Version: 11.0.0.1282
    Thanks.

    Hi Alan,
I've seen this happen when the other app is using custom UFL's, they are either U2L.dll or CRUFL.dll. One thing CR does not do is version check UFL's. If the other app is running it may have loaded in their UFL's and then you app will load them also.
It may also be that when you declare the app object specify the version.
In C++ it would look like this: pApplication.CreateInstance("CrystalRuntime.Application.9") This way it tells your app to use this version. As Ludek suggested possibly your app is using the XI version. Also check the version of crviewer.dll, not sure if you load it but it can cause problems if they are mixed also.
And it may be OS related. what version of windows are you using?
There are also others that just copy all of the CR runtime into the \system32 folder. Not a good plan for other app's that use CR runtime also.
Try closing the other application and then test your app again. If it works it may be they are not version checking, or have a custom UFL, etc.
    Thank you
    Don

  • LabVIEW 2010 crash when calling user32.dll

Interesting LabVIEW 2010 "feature" I discovered this morning.
Attached are two identical VIs, one saved in 2010 and one saved in 2009.  These VIs were specifically written to demonstrate the bug I stumbled upon this afternoon.  Each VI when run should allow you to find a specific program (window) open in Microsoft Windows and bring it to the foreground.  It relies on "user32.dll" to perform this operation.  It also allows you to specify the calling convention for the function call.
In LV 2009, either calling convention works, without error.  However, in LV 2010 the calling convention for the function must be "stdcall (WINAPI)" and not the default "C".  If the calling convention is "C" then LabVIEW crashes and closes without warning.
If you happen to have both LV 2009 and LV 2010 on your computer, I would love to hear if this phenomenon is duplicated so that I can pinpoint whether the bug is LV 2010 related or is more specific to my personal setup.
    Thanks,
    ~David

CLFN with the wrong calling convention may siliently crash LabVIEW.
LabVIEW 8.5 through 2009 could adjust the calling convention at run time if the user selected the wrong option. In 2010 this no longer happens. More information is found in KnowledgeBase 59KB14WI

    New one on me...
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
