    thank you

    Hello Chris,
thanks for getting back to me. I managed to install the AIR using command line
and -silent -EULAaccepted options. Still having issues with installing Picaboo X
software, but i suppose it's a problem on their side as other apps are installing
    without issues
    thnx

    Hi,
I'm sorry you're running into problems with the installer.  Was there any additional log information provided?  It appears that it's been truncated.  When the installer runs, do you see any dialogs, progress bars, or errors?  Finally, did you get any errors when you ran the AppleScript?
    Thanks,
    Chris

Restore your library from the Time Machine backup to your Pictures folder as shown here:
Launch iPhoto and have it will open your library.

  • Is anybody else experiencing crashes when installing iTunes for Windows?

Is anybody else experiencing crashes when installing iTunes for Windows?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box (similar to those given above) are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Crash when installing Oracle9i on Windows

If you have a crash when installing oracle9i on Win 2000
(for example The instruction at "0x77fca30c" referenced memory blah blah blah), the problem could be your classpath.
Try the following in a command window:
cd Disk1 (or wherever you have unzipped oracle)
    set CLASSPATH=
    setup
I guess it is a bug in the installer. I didn't try to isolate it, my classpath is too big!

I just checked this again, at work, on my 2000 machine. I changed my locale to saudia arabia and that resulted in the alignment you mentioned earlier. I switched it back to its default english - united states and the alignment is no loner at the right.
In addition to that my nls_lang setting is :
    AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252
Note though, that simply changing the locale did it for me, regardless of my nls_lang setting.

  • Crash when installed on system that formerly had Pinnacle hardware

Encore 2.0 (but not 1.5) consistantly crashes when installed on a
system which has the RALcodec codec installed (My system is a dual 2.8 Ghz Xeon Dell under Windows XP SP2). This codec is installed by a variety of Pinnacle hardware installations such as the DC-1000 and DC-2000. It remains active on the system even after removal of these devices. The symptom is an Application Error after about 20 minutes and the usual offer to send info to Microsoft, even if Encore is simply opened and a empty project created.
The solution is to rename the Ralcodec and associated files:
    Cachex.dll
    FXlib.dll
    MedMan.dll
    MLPagAX.dll
    RALCodec.dll
    RALCtrl.cpl
    RALMain.dll
from the C:\Windows\system32 directory, reboot and then delete them.
Of course your DC-2000 won't work anymore but that is probably not
    an issue.
Some other details in case anyone cares: The Pinnacle software
is loaded by Encore because Encore enumerates all installed
codecs. When loaded, the Pinnacle software
creates a hidden window called AudioInputWnd and then listens
for various Windows messages on this window. This processing
goes on in the background while Encore is running and eventually
results in the app crash. Note that 3 years ago, when using
Premiere 6.5 with the Pinnacle DC-2000 I used to get occasional
crashes when exiting Premiere. The error message displayed at
that time referenced AudioInputWnd as well. So it appears
that even back then, with Premiere 6.5, there was a problem with the Pinnacle software.
The crash of Encore 2.0 doesn't produce a message explicitly
referencing AutioInputWnd but under Windbg you can
see that the software is dispatching a message received from that
window's queue. When RALcodec is removed, the AudioInputWnd
is not even created anymore when Encore is run.
I would note that Adobe support was unable to solve this problem and
suggested the usual unhelpful littany of reinstallation of Encore and
to update the video drivers when I first called it in 3 months ago. Another person, Dave Shriver also reported essentially identical problems in the Encore forum back in Februrary. The root cause appears to have actually existed in the Adobe certified bundle of Premiere 6.0/6.5 with the DC-2000 before resurfacing in the present form with Encore 2.0.

The simplest way to reinstall iPhoto and iMovie is to download Pacifist and then extract the relevant applications from the Software Restore Discs.
Pacifist comes with instructions; this is not a difficult operation and there is no need for erase & install to recover the applications.
Pacifist is Shareware, but you need not pay the fee in order to use it. Every time that you open Pacifist you will be prompted to purchase a licence. If you feel that Pacifist is worth the money (and I think that it is), you can purchase a licence at any stage.
If you're a plonker like me, then purchasing a licence will provide justification for third party developers like CharlesSoft to save the day for the rest of us.
    Good luck!

  • My brand new Mac Pro running Mountain Lion crashes when installing updates or new software.

My brand new Mac Pro running Mountain Lion crashes and re-boots when installing updates or new software. I can only perform these operations while in the safe boot mode.  I have reloaded OSX twice. Does not solve the problem.  The machine is brand new. It replaced a previous MacPro that would not support the new Mountain Lion.  When my new machine came in.  I swaped the dirve out of my old unit into the new and ran the new Lion update.  The machine has had this aforementioned problem since that time.  Also, I had the Legacy version of File Vault running on the old machine/drive, which I also turned off(thinking that was the problem)  but that did not fix the problem either.

  • Error Msg when installing Office for Mac 2008 on New Mac Book Pro

Why Am I getting the message "Classic environment no longer supported"  when I try to install  Office for Mac 2008 install on a Late 2011 Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2
    Here is a screen shot:

And for what it's worth, my choice would be (and is) LibreOffice, which I've used for about a year with nearly complete satisfaction. Last time I tried it three or four years ago, OpenOffice had the ugly, unrefined appearance of a Windows application; it had no Mac interface at all. That might actually be comforting to someone coming to the Mac from Windows, but as a 27-year Mac user, I hated it. I don't know whether OO has gotten a facelift in the intervening years.
The intermediate step between OO and LO was NeoOffice, which I used for several years. It was OpenOffice with a Mac face, and I liked it well enough. LibreOffice is its further evolution, more compatible with the latest MS Office files.

  • Installation error when installing CS6 on Mac?

I keep getting an installation error when I try to install CS6 on my Macbook Pro. It says "installer failed to initialize, this could be due to a missing file". It also shows troubleshooting tips. I have tried them and none of them work. I also tried disc repair and multiple other troubleshooting advice from this site. Nothing has worked yet. Help!

does your macbook meet the system requirements:
    Mac OS
Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support.
Mac OS X v10.6.8 or v10.7. Adobe Creative Suite 5, CS5.5, and CS6 applications support Mac OS X Mountain Lion (v10.8) when installed on Intel based systems. Refer to the CS6 FAQ for more information about Mac OS X Mountain Lion support.**
    4GB of RAM (8GB recommended)
15.5GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)
Additional disk space required for disk cache, preview files, and other working files (10GB recommended)
1280x900 display with 16-bit color and 512MB of VRAM; 1680x1050 display required and second professionally calibrated viewing display recommended for Adobe SpeedGrade
    OpenGL 2.0–capable system
DVD-ROM drive compatible with dual-layer DVDs (SuperDrive for burning DVDs; Blu-ray burner for creating Blu-ray Disc media)
    Java Runtime Environment 1.6
Eclipse 3.7 Cocoa version (for plug-in installation of Adobe Flash Builder; the following distributions are supported: Eclipse IDE for Java EE and Java Developers, Eclipse Classic, Eclipse for PHP Developers
QuickTime 7.6.6 software required for QuickTime features, multimedia, and HTML5 media playback
Dedicated GPU card recommended (for optimal performance in SpeedGrade and for GPU-accelerated features in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects: NVIDIA Quadro 4000 or other Adobe-certified GPU card with at least 1GB of VRAM recommended); visit www.adobe.com/products/premiere/extend.html for supported cards
Optional: Tangent CP200 family or Tangent Wave control surface for SpeedGrade
Optional: 7200 RPM hard drive (multiple fast disk drives, preferably RAID 0 configured, recommended) for video products

  • Error installing AIR on Mac

I'm running Leopard 10.5 and I keep getting this error when I
    try to install AIR:
    quote:
This application requires Adobe AIR to function. Please
download the latest version of the runtime from
    http://www.adobe.com/go/getair,
    then launch the application again.
So, I need AIR installed before I can install AIR? Uh, ok?
Has anyone else experienced this? I've downloaded the latest dmg
    and still no luck.

Obviously you don't really need AIR installed to, uh, install
    AIR.
Here's what's going on: during the installation process, the
copy of AIR that's about to be installed is used, rather like an
AIR application was running during the install process. Normally
this error message would only appear if you had installed an AIR
application, uninstalled AIR, and then tried to run the application
again. When we run this code during install, we don't expect to
encounter an error like this, since—assuming the installer
isn't corrupt—we *know* there's a good copy of AIR present.
So while we detect the error, we didn't bother special-casing the
    error message for this situation.
Receiving this error message from the installer, then,
suggests that either (a) something is wrong with the DMG you
downloaded, (b) a mounted DMG on your system isn't behaving like
DMGs on other Leopard systems, or (c) something even more bizarre
that I haven't thought of yet.
If none of that rings a bell, here's a couple of things to
    try:
    1) Find a site that uses the badge installer, like
desktop.ebay.com. Installing via this method doesn't use a DMG and
may avoid the issue. (I realize you may not want the eBay Desktop
app; you can always uninstall it afterward.)
    2) Run dtruss over the install process, and then send me the
output. We'll let you know what we find. (Let me know if you need
details on how to do this.)

  • Dead iPad 1 crashed when installing iOS 5.1

    Hi
My iPad 1 64 /3G which has all the regular crashing abilities discussed on this forum has finally died
It crashed whilst installing iOS 5.1
It will not restart , the battery is showing critical low level despite 24hrs of charging
Can any body help ?  I have tried holding both buttons several times, it starts then shuts down after showing the low battery symbol, despite being on its proper power mains supply
Does not respond at all when connected to iTunes.

I had the same problem and was ready to throw It in the trash. Last night I erased my iPad and set it up as new iPad instead of restoring. I didn't turn on iCloud until after I deleted my iCloud backup and turned off contact syncing with it. Since then it hasn't crashed and it has had about 4 hours of use. 5.0.1 didn't have an effect on it. Just happy I got my iPad back!
