Crash WinXP on connect USB-mouse

Help me please. I have update my winxp on thruth windows update - and download A-FOUR tech mouse driver(i have this mouse). Windows notice me that this driver is not microsoft certified, but i click yes. Now i have problem - when i connect mouse to usb port system is crash. What may i do?

Hi
In my opinion if its a USB mouse its not necessary to install the mouse driver because the OS recognized automatically the USB device. I recommend to remove the mouse driver. After rebooting the OS you can try to connect the mouse again to port.

  • Disable touchpad when you connect usb mouse

    Hi I used to do this in windows 7 in driver of laptop but seems like its not installed right ow is there a way to do it throught windows?

    Visit your PC manufacturer's website and install the latest driver related to mouse (it is okay if you install the driver for Windows 7 too).
    If you received any error, try run it in compatibility mode.

    And the solution in there is

  • Mac Mini crashes when connected to USB mouse!

    This problem just happened all of the sudden--I came into my office a few days ago and there was the multi-lingual screen of death telling me I needed to restart my computer. Tried numerous times, no success--same message.
    Took Mac Mini to Genius Bar--they said it checked out just fine.
    Brought it home, plugged everything in--same problem!
    Started eliminating USB and Firewire items that I was connecting to it. Narrowed it down to my Verbatim USB wireless mouse. When I disconnected it, the computer booted fine. However, can't navigate anywhere w/o a mouse, so I figured my solution was to just go buy a wired USB mouse.
    Bought wired USB mouse. Same crashes! My computer will not boot with any USB mouse connected and when I connect a mouse after it is booted, it crashes the moment the mouse is connected.
    Even if there is something I could install or uninstall, I can't do it because I have no navigation w/o a mouse!
    Error messages on screen of death have to do with "kernels" and what not--again, if it was something I could replace/reinstall that would be great, but how can I do anything w/o a mouse?
    Please help!!!
    Thanks,
    Phil

    I have three 2008 model Mac minis, each with verbatim mice. Luckily one hasn't been upgraded to 10.6.8 because I'd be without a working desktop machine.
    The 2010 Mac mini doesn't have this problem.
    So far I've tried four different USB mice and all of them lock up the machine, even in safe mode.
    I can't afford to go and buy three apple Bluetooth mice - it's the only way I can use these machines.
    I hate downgrading machines, so I'm hoping apple supplies a patch soon.

    Well, there is no big deal about USB mouse, it's plug and play.If your mouse doesn't work at all, then its broken, or it's not compatible with mac. Test it in a PC.

  • 10 3.9 - external drive crashes PB when connected by USB or FireWire

    Subject says most of it... "10 3.9 - external drive crashes PB when connected by USB or FireWire"
    Details: I have one external drive which, when connected to my PowerBook via either FireWire or USB, causes the computer to lock up with the message: "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button for several seconds or press the Restart button." The same thing happens whether the drive is there on bootup or if it is connected later.
    The drive worked fine until yesterday, when I stupidly installed Windows Media Player even though the internal drive was almost full. It took a while, but I discovered that disconnecting this particular external drive made everything work again, though slowly.
    Then I freed up 15GB on the internal drive, and everything works normally _unless that drive is attached. Another drive connected the same way works fine.
    I have searched around on this message but have yet to find the way out. I did figure out what the first question will probably be, so here's the answer:
    The "kernel panic message" each time seems to be the date and time and then "localhost /usr/libexec/panicdump: Error (-1) setting variable - 'aapl,panic-info'"
    Where should I start?
    Thanks.
    15" Powerbook   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   External drives connected via USB or FireWire

    Still hoping for some sort of advice here... Have tried many approaches but can only confirm that simply connecting that particular drive (or enclosure?) always gets an immediate shutdown.
    Thanks for anything,
    Steve

  • My Keyboard and Mouse freeze after connecting USB device

    In the past few weeks I got this situation where my MacBook Air (13" Late 2010 model) would stop responding to the keyboard and trackpad after I connect a USB device (like an external hard disk, or even my iPhone).
    I found one (quite inconvenient) solution: if I connect an external USB mouse and keyboard they work, and after a while the built in trackpad and keyboard start working again. But if I do not have an external mouse and keyboard around me, I am quite stuck and only a reboot fixes the situation.
    Any idea what might be causing this, or if there is any solution? It is clearly a software issue, as the hardware can be returned to normal state after reboot.
    Note: I have the latest OS - Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50) and regularly update my software.

    I have the same issue, on the same model (late 2010 13" MBA).
    I haven't been able to figure out a solution either. Strangely, I recently bought a USB external drive and it *never* causes a freeze upon connection. Only smaller devices (iPod, iPad, FitBit, USB stick) cause it. I need to reboot the computer with the device attached to be able to access it.

  • Problem with udev rule to disable touchpad when USB mouse connects

    Hi, I've been running Arch on this laptop, but I can't get this udev rule to work properly.
    What I want to happen is: when I plug in my usb mouse, the laptop touchpad is disabled, and the left and right buttons are reversed (I'm left handed)
    After following several tutorials, both from the arch wiki and other sites, I've come up with this udev rule:
    ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="input", RUN+="/usr/local/bin/USBMouse.sh"
    ACTION=="remove", SUBSYSTEM=="input", RUN+="/usr/local/bin/USBMouse.sh"
    And here's the script it links to (USBMouse.sh):
    #!/bin/bash
    export DISPLAY=:0.0
    synclient TouchPadOff=$(/usr/bin/lsusb | grep "Microsoft Corp.\
    Nano Transceiver v1.0 for Bluetooth" | wc -l)
    if [[ $(/usr/bin/lsusb | grep "Microsoft Corp.\
    Nano Transceiver v1.0 for Bluetooth" | wc -l) == 1 ]]
    then
    xmodmap -e 'pointer = 3 2 1'
    fi
    if [[ $(/usr/bin/lsusb | grep "Microsoft Corp.\
    Nano Transceiver v1.0 for Bluetooth" | wc -l) == 0 ]]
    then
    xmodmap -e 'pointer = 1 2 3'
    fi
    Running the script from a terminal returns no errors and works as expected. The problem is when I plug/unplug the mouse from the usb port, nothing happens.
    I appreciate any insight you might have about how to fix this, and thank you in advance

    This has already been done. And another relevant thread.

  • USB mouse and keyboard don't work on HP Pavilion g7 2203sd, Windows 8.1.

    It is not possible to use a USB mouse or keyboard on the HP Pavilion g7 2203sd notebook running Windows 8.1.
    A wireless mouse used to work (already some time ago), but now wired or wireless mouse and keyboard don't work any more.
    I have tried removing USB devices in the Windows Device Manager and let Windows detect them again, but it does not work.
    I read somewhere that it might have to do with the xHCI USB controller that is installed.
    I tried removing that and connecting the USB mouse but no succes.
    I also looked for driver updates or something to disbale in the BIOS (like xHCI), but nothing found for that.
    Can anybody help me with this problem.

    1. I have tried copying the Keyboard/Trackpad/Mouse drivers to the $WinPEDriver$ directory with mixed success on a 2012 MBP.
    2. My experience is based on a 2013 rMBP. You may be able to use an Apple USB Keypad/Mouse to better success.
    3. See http://www.macworld.com/article/2460820/macbook-pro-mid-2014-review-minor-update -offers-slightly-better-cpu-performance.html for HW differences between the two machines.
    4. If you have access to a 2013 rMBP, I can suggest trying to build the USB on that and working with the USB to see if you can make it install Windows. the rMBP 2014 and rMBP 2013 have the same HW, except some CPU changes. You can also try building the USB at the nearest Apple store, if possible.
    5. There is a section in AutoUnattend.xml, which is supposed to install all drivers in $WinPEDriver$ (see this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2686316 )

  • Wake from sleep when docked to Mini Dock using USB mouse or keyboard attached to dock

    I'd like to know how to wake a T520 connected to Mini Dock (type 4338). I have a basic USB mouse (wired) connected directly to the dock.  I've verified all of the items in Device Manager (mice and USB ports) are enabled for "waking the computer".
    In the article below, Lenovo says it's not possible to wake it by connecting directly to the dock....they say it's "not a limitation of the dock"... but "by design". Of, course that's the line all companies say now a days. But it CLEARLY IS A LIMITATION.  They say the only way is using the power button on the dock.  What a waste.

  • Macbook pro Late 2011 13.3 inch i7 keyboard and trackpad not working bluetooth showing a cross sign and no usb mouse is detected. Almost dead keyboard and mouse. Earlier same problem used to be solved by opening the lower cover and closing it.

    My macbook pro 13.3 inch i7 late 2011 edition has previously encountered unresponsive trackpad and keyboard. To solve that, I used to open the back cover and then close it. It has been working fine since that. Yesterday, same thing happened, this time I noticed that bluetooth icon is showing a cross sign across it and keyboard and trackpad were unesponsive. After some time , everything worked fine and bluetooth sign was back to normal. Then , suddenly it went back to the problem. I shut it down by holding the power button. When I booted it again, I could not login because keyboard and trackpad were not working. I attached a HP mouse it didnt work. I opened the back cover disconnected the battery and then connected it again, didnt worked. Since then , I have tried many things and nothing has solved the problem.

    @sanjampet
    As you suggested I reset the smc, in the first boot nothing worked. In the second boot, it all worked like a charm. I thought that my problem is resolved now. To test it, I shut it down properly. Next morning, I powered it on, all things i.e, keyboard, trackpad, bluetooth etc. worked and I thought that problem has been solved. When I was just going to visit apple forum to reply you,  the same problem reappeared. A sawtooth cross over bluetooth icon, keyboard not working, trackpad not working,no usb mouse working which worked well when it was fine. I reset smc so many times again and again but same problem continued. Isn't it a problem of the firmware?
    Next time when it will work, I will update its firmware.
    My macbook was bought in dec2011 so no warranty now.

  • Connecting a mouse to an iphone

    Hi, I have a challenge for the iphone experts on here...
    Is it possible in any way to connect a mouse or some kind of "clicker" device to an iphone.
    I am using my iphone to connect to my PC when I am away from home using jaadu and logmein. This works quite well but in some instances I would prefer to press a mouse button or clicker rather than tap the iphone screen.
    Does a mouse with the 30 pin connestor exist? Or somehow connecting a mouse through the 3.5mm jack?
    Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    It's a touch screen phone, there's no concept of a pointer.
    Plus very few phones have a USB host chip, they are designed to be a client (USB accessory) of a computer and not to allow a USB device to be a client of the phone.
    You can't plug in mice, keyboards, printers, USB sticks or any other USB accessory.
