my Computer crashed and i lost all my music on my itunes. i still have it all on my iphone, but can i somehow get all my music from my iphone to my new computer or is it gone forever if i resync with my new computer??

This is one of the reasons why maintaining a backup for the important data on your computer's hard drive stored on an external drive or some other external media is important, which should included your iTunes library.
Did you lose all important data on your computer's hard drive, or just your iTunes library?
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content from an iPod or iPhone that was purchased from the iTunes store only.
First you need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes.
With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.

Thank you for the question. If your album art is attached to all your media on your computer, then processing a sync should allow the album art to return. If it does not, deselect the sync music preference in iTunes then hit apply. Once this sync completes, select sync music again, apply and let it process. If all album art is missing from your computer, see the articles below.

So you have all you music on the iPhone, right? and you want to transfer FROM the iPhone TO the computer?
You can't do that with iTunes as far as i know, but you could probably get by that going through "this computer" or something.. I'm not sure, but technically it should be possible.

Recently, I had to re-format my main computer, I lost all of my iTunes music, most of it is on my iPad. How do I transfer this music from my iPad to my current iTunes. I really don't want to have to copy a couple of 1000 CDs again.

Once you have the tracks recovered, you might also consider iTunes March. There is a cost involved ($24.99/yr), and it isn't without it's ... shall we quirks? ... but it is a very convenient way to manage music tracks on iOS devices.

When you switch syncing computers you have to restore the iPod on the new computer. Did you do that?

No, they won't transfer over, however, there are third party PC/Mac programs which will transfer the content of your iPod to your computer. Just do a Google search on this topic and you will find them (e.g. senuti)

I have been tagging my photos for years and recently my computer crashed, had to be reformatted and I lost all of my tags apparently. I kept all the photo areas and info in applications/adobe/photoshopalbum/mycatalog etc but it does not restore the tags. Goes anyone know how I can do this? If I deleted an important file that would make it work ok- which one and where is it. I will try and recover it if possible. I am in a terrible position. I read the manual and it talks about being able to restore the tags but I cannot find the info on this website or within the help info. I have tried very hard to resolve with no luck.

Hey, I haven't had a computer for a few months so I hooked up to another computer to get updates and while syncing on itunes I lost all of my music files. I can't find them on the computer or ipod. Anybody know if I can get them back?

If the music was loaded from CDs then unfortunately not, unless you have access to the old computer or the CDs themselves.
If the music was purchased from iTunes and your iPod is running the current version of the software then you can go into the iTunes app on the iPod and there is a purchased section where you can re-download music you have already purchased at no cost.

Restored computer and lost all music

i had to restore my computer because it wasn't working and my music was all deleted. how can i get my music back ? i already tried the "check for available purchases" and it didn't work. this happened before too but i got it all back.

Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items. It's your responsibility to make backup copies in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places. If your hard drive was erased and you don't have a backup of your purchased items, and don't have them on an iPod, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your tracks.
If you have your tracks on an iPod or have them backed up, post back and someone here can help you get them restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.
