Crashed twice within 24 hrs and discharges itself!!!!
And not of my own doing! Within less than 24 hours, my ipod has crashed and told me to "restore" it. I have done so once, but I'm not going to do it again unless I know WHY IT'S CRASHING. Furthermore, each morning, I turn on my ipod and find that it has DISCHARGED and is completely out of battery, and I have to charge it! When this happened consecutively 2 nights in a row, I checked on the third night to make sure I didn't leave it playing music or anything that would consume battery life. BUT IT'S STILL HAPPENING! I'm sure that my ipod is defective or something, and I'm also sure these problems are connected! What should I do??

BBZ 10 Complete Crash twice within 3 months
I bought BBZ10 in April 2014. In November it was crashed. i think following a program update. Nothing helped. I had to take it to a labratory in JERUSALEM, They managed to re-operate it but ALL the data was deleted. Now it happened again. it was crashed again. Eventhough I did not update the program or the OS. Truely, I do not know if it worth it to re-operate it again. I think there was something wrong with this cell from day one, or with its program, or with its OS. I bought it through the US in EBAY and brought it with me to Jerusalem. I could manage to send it back to the US. Is there a warranty that could be used or any other suggestion to try and solve the problem?
Thanks
MordechaiHi and Welcome to the Community!
Warranty is a contractual matter between buyer and seller, established at the time of the transaction. BB extends a 1-year manufacturer warranty, but only serviced via the the resale channels, and can be modified by each purchase transaction. So, whatever your original purchase transaction documents dictate for your specific warranty coverage is what dictates what warranty coverage you have. Inquire with them as to how you should proceed.
Good luck!

My iphone keeps crashing and turning itself off.....even though battery life is fine...as soon as i plug charger in it comes bcak on....help very frustrating...3g
absolutely that is frustrating. if the battery life is fine there could be two things software or hardware. to find out if your back up your information in itunes and import pictures and then restore the phone as NEW then you can test it out. if it is still shutting off it is hardware related

I have had my iphoto crash twice whilst nearing the end of making a photo book. Are these books lost and do I have to start again? ): I cant find the folder in iphoto on the time capsule. Folder from which the book was being made is now empty? help please Using IMAC OSx
Hi shldr2thewheel,
it has been a while since we have last spoke, I would like to let you know, I am still working on getting used to the switch from windows to a Mac/Apple system. I do have a new question for you, I did purchase In Design CS5.5 through journeyed.com through Cuyahoga Community College of which I attend as a student, is there a way to purchase an online book through iTunes to learn that as well? Also, you know me, the struggling student, I would also, when and if the book can be purchased through the iTunes, would need to know if you do know of a much easier book for struggling students like myself and at a reasonable price as well for the In Design CS5.5 program. Our campus bookstore had closed early, and, so did the colleges library and our local library here where I do live, so, I cannot go to either place to purchase a book or to take out a book, plus cash funds are low at this moment as well but, I do have money left on the iTunes account to use, if it can be used. So, can it be used, the iTunes money, towards finding a low priced online book? I am in great need of assistance as I have a project due for my one course for this Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
Sincerely in need of help once again,
Kim -
My MacAir has to go in for hardware repair, and I was told that if diagnostics couldn't trigger the error, it would be returned to me to guinea-pig the specifics with a log. Why can't the automatic crash reports generated by the computer itself be used? I would think they would be the most accurate and specific record of incidents, and could easily be identified with the computer serial number. What am I missing in this scenario?
What you're missing is that diagnostics software doesn't cover everything in any laptop made by anyone.
Intermittent problems, and genuine hardware induced faults typically, or course, are hard to pinpoint.
jet fighter planes contain 1000s of sensors and multimillion dollar live diagnostics and still can't "see" more than 60% of hardware potential faults.
Lucky you, the Air however contains extremely few parts, there isnt much to diagnose on one.
The Air contains 90% fewer parts than a typical laptop from a mere 7 years ago. -
Mac Pro crashes and turns itself off
Hello, hope someone can help me!
I have a 2008 Mac Pro and recently it's been crashing and restarting itself. The first two times it crashed it wouldn't restart so I took it to the Genius bar where they had it for a total of 6 days running various tests to try and get the problem to happen again and testing all the hardware, Disks, RAM, Graphics card etc but they couldn't find a problem!
The last time I took it to the Genius bar they reinstalled the system and when it crashed yesterday I was able to get it to restart and it's now running again. I was able to get a crash report (see below) from when it crashed yesterday and hopefully there's someone out there who can decipher this and see what the problem was?

Macbook Pro 15inch Mid 2010 crash and reboot itself
I have a Macbook Pro 15 inch Mid 2010, Intel Core i5 and Nvidia Geforce GT 330m 256 MB with the latest Maverick as a OS X
I been having some issues lately whatever I open from the web or even open an email it would just crash and reboot itself. Not overheating so far I see and I did not install any other softwares that could cause the problem. It is ramdom. It was happening previous OS X and if figure that by updating to the latest would maybe help also. I even did a full erase and reinstall ox x and still it does the same issue.
I think it is a video problem from what I may have read or maybe not and if it is what can I do? do I need to buy a new board? what would be the cost?
I would think which I am sure my warranty is done now.
Anyone can read this error I have supplied and know what I can do to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
Lucas

Thunderbolt Bus:already did...they will only replace the logic board.
At least it work very well without connecting to the big monitor. But sadly i got this huge monitor with wireless mouse and keyboad sitting doing nothing now.
my only other choice is to see if i can find another logic board on ebay cheaper than apple.
Very fustrating...knowing that apple knew it was a problem they made and had a limited timeframe to replace the board at no cost. Now because warranty is done...Apple basically saying not our problem should have got apple care program.
I believe if the company make an error with certain hardware they are responsible regardless the warranty is on or dead.
I love apple products...but sadly the support is very dissapointing. Get extra warranty or have Apple Care program. If dont have it....not our problem even if the hardware was bad. -
HT201412 iPhone crashed twice, and is completely unresponsive.
iPhone crashed yesterday and was restored via iTunes; however, the phone crashed again this morning and is completely unresponsive. The phone will not turn on, off, will not reset, and is not recognized when connected to iPhones, thus restoring again is not possible. Any suggestions, or is this phone dead?
Hi mbordonaro97,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like this phone needs to be evaluated for repair. Please use the information and links in the attached web link for the repair process.

Crashed Twice!! 10.6.4.: Mac Mini 2.26 Intel Core Duo
My computer has crashed twice in the past week, showing the same symptoms right before crashing. Both times, a system install off of the DVD fixed the problem. However, with it repeating itself again so soon, I feel a larger fix is necessary.
Both times, I first noticed that the clock was off by several hours and minutes, even though I use "Set Date & Time Automatically." Next thing I notice is that Apps aren't launching. When I go to restart, the Mini either freezes on the grey apple with spinning (the most recent time) or spinning, with alternating shades of blue screens staying up for 10 seconds or so (i.e. dark blue, light blue, dark blue, etc.).
The clock thing made me think virus, although I have never encountered a virus since using OSX. I've always thought OSX to be impervious. Nevertheless, I purchased Norton Anti-Virus and am running it now. (Looks like it's going to be a while.)
Any other suggestions for preventing another such crash a week from now?
Thanks in advance.Okay, ran the Hardware Test and everything passed. Since my initial post, this has happened twice and is about to happen again. Note, this is a "soft" crash in the the computer continues to work for a short time after the first symptom, which is the clock jumping ahead 7 hours, or so. Once I've noticed that, I know that the next time I go to restart the computer, it will be unable to launch the OS.
As follows is a portion of the log, which I hope points to a solution. Note that the ACTUAL time the console was opened was around 10:30pm. Even as I write this, the actual time is 11:07pm, so we know the line item stamped 11:27:56 is POST-crash.
Apologies for probably copy and pasted more than necessary, but better too much than too little.

My MacBook Pro will suddenly quit while I'm working on it and restarts itself.
I have a 2012 MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8.2 Mountain Lion with a 27-inch Apple Cinema Display connected to it that I use at work. I am an art director so I am constantly in Adobe Creative Suite 6. In the past month my MacBook Pro has suddenly quit on me while working and restarts itself TWICE. This time I was listening to a downloaded album on iTunes and the music started to skip right before the computer crashed and restarted itself. Has anyone ever experienced this before? It doesn't freeze up or anything like that, it will just unexpectedly go into Restart mode & the computer restarts. Everything is fine once it restarts but I am wondering if I should be concerned or if someone might know of a repair solution I could do on the computer. Should I run Disk Utilites to see if their is an issue? Would appreciate any comments and suggestions and feel free to ask may any question. THANKS!!
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out these instructions.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
syslog -k Sender kernel -k Message CSeq "Previous Shutdown" | tail | open -f -a TextEdit
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V).
The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. Post the contents of that window, if any — the text, please, not a screenshot. The title of the window doesn't matter, and you don't need to post that. -
N97 keeps restarting itself and turning itself off...
Hi everyone,
A few months ago I bought an N97 from England and I have some very annoying bugs and a few questions I’d like to ask.
First of all, the phone keeps restarting itself (it is now up to 5 times a day if not more!!!), and at night it even turns itself off (I mean I wake up in the morning and the phone is off).
The other bug is that I cannot exit applications through the “open apps” menu (which is accessed by long-pressing the menu button). When I try to exit an application through there the phone crashes.
I did hard reset, soft reset, formatted E drive (each of those several times btw) and none of this helped. I took it to the nokia care center (the only one in Israel BTW!) and they said that they’ve never heard of those problems and it shouldn’t happen, so they reinstalled my firmware. After that didn’t work, I came back to them and they tried reinstalling the firmware again (they thought something maybe went wrong last time) and that didn’t work either. So I gave them my phone and they had it for 2 weeks during which they tried solving the problem themselves (not sure If that’s true) and after they failed, they sent it to the nokia factory\manufacturer lab in Israel (or at least that’s what they told me). In the first few days everything seemed ok and the phone did not restart itself (that menu bug was still happening) but after less than a week the phone restarted itself again. So I called them and they said it’s probably a bug in the V20 software and they reported it to nokia head quarters in Finland (yeah right…). Anyways… the “restarting itself” bug frequency was decreased substantially for a while, but now it’s back to restarting itself several times a day and turning itself completely off at night (it even happened to me during the day once or twice already-which never happened before).
I’ve read that hundreds (if not thousands) of other N97 owners have those problems too but I couldn’t find a solution. Anyone have any ideas???
Now… during my search in different forums I searched the one in the nokia Israel website and I accidently came across a replay that said that the “exit an app through the open app menu” bug only happens when the phone language is set to Hebrew! And guess what?! HES RIGHT! I changed the language of my phone to English and I have successfully exited the music player through the “open app” menu without the phone crashing! WHAT THE FU** IS GOING ON?! As I said, I’ve came across many other users who have this bug and they obviously don’t have Hebrew on their phone. How does that make any sense?!. Although I have no problem with English I’m more comfortable with my phone language being set to Hebrew since I got used to the buttons locations and now they are all “backwards” which is really annoying! (for example just now I wanted to put a call on loudspeaker but hung up because the 2 buttons have now switched sides).
Anybody knows anything about those bugs and\or how to fix them?!
Now… I would like to ask something:
I’ve noticed that my C drive only has 35MB of free memory. So I went into “memory details” and I see that 12MB is taken by “SIS applications” and 25MB (!!!) is taken by “other files”. I should mention that I put all my files and install all my apps on the E drive when given the choice (only apps from ovi store don’t give you that choice).
Is there any way I can see which applications and files (if it’s even possible for individual files) are installed on C so I can delete some of them? When I go to “phone memory” through “file manager” and I manually open all the folders there (games, images, installed files, nokia, other, sound files and all those), they are all empty. I mean I have a few files on C but they are some sort of text files and they weigh pretty much nothing… most of the folders are completely empty (some have 1 or 2 of those text files). Please help me!
Since I’m already posting this message, anybody knows anything about V21?! Ive read about some update that’s coming out on the 28th, but when I asked nokia care about V21 they said they don’t know anything about it. Anybody has any information regarding V21?
Thank you!1. Did this start shortly after you installed a particular application?
-no. in fact, just to make sure, after the nokia people re-installed my firmware (which deleted everything from the C drive) i formatted the E drive and did not install anything to see if it still happens. sure enough after 2 days, the phone restarted.
2. Did this start after a firmware update?
-yes. it never happened before the V20 version. (or at least i havent noticed that it happened).
3. Have you tried reinstalling the firmware through Ovi/PC suite?
-this is how i installed it the first time. altough everyone says its bad and you shouldnt do it and you should go to the nokia center and they will do it for you.
about this... i dont understand why nokia is giving us a tool to update our software for free... but then say "you shouldnt use that tool. go to your nokia care center and they will do it for you" which wastes valuable time and money (not surprisngly... my warrenty doesnt apply in Israel so i have to pay for that kind of stuff). nokia is the biggest cellphone company in the WORLD! why cant they give an international warrenty?!
*any idea why the "exit an app through open app menu" bug is only happening when the phone language is set to hebrew?! i mean thats very bizzare...
*so the update on the 28th is not the full V21 i understand...? will it atleast fix the self restarting and self turning off problem?! i mean i can handle not exiting an app through the menu (unless an app gets stuck and then its just annoying because you cant close it). but i cannot have a phone which turns itself off and restarts itself... that is just ridiculous. -
Aperture crashed twice today. Comments?
Aperture crashed twice on me today. Have since repaired the Library. Once was while using BorderFX. The other time I was building a complex filter in Places View. It's been a while since Aperture has outright crashed on me. Snips from crash logs below. Thanks.

So had the crashes stopped (first post was from the beginning of June) and started again or have there been crashes all along?
I stopped using BorderFX while working through some other problems. Crashes resumed as soon as I used BorderFX again. Have deleted the BorderFX plug-in apps (one export plug-in and one edit plug-in) twice and reinstalled from freshly downloaded disk image files. Problems continued. Deleted all of the presets from within BorderFX, closed Aperture, rebooted, and rebuilt one preset. This one works, but there are still at least one oddity: the selected point size shows as about twice as big as it should. (Makes by "Retina" flag go off.)
Standard stuff: Before the crashes started was anything added to or changed on the system? Any other problems with the system?
This is my new rMBP with a clean install. Have been trying to keep it as lean as possible. Ran into problems playing videos (esp. in Aperture), but have since resolved that (without using Perian or Flip4Mac). The June 4. crashes surprised me -- everything had been working almost flawlessly (see further mention of Circus Ponies NoteBook). BorderFX crashes started after I imported my old BorderFX Presets. Only thing I did to trouble-shoot was run OS X's Font Book to identify and remove duplicates. This resolved the only other issue I had at the time, which was that on launch Circus Ponies NoteBook warned about about an unavailable font (had used the program for a decade and never saw that before).
While the whole crash report probably won't help post it anyway who knows. Also download and run EtreCheck and post the results. Might help.

SOAP service shutsdown and restarts itself -- SOAP - Performance Monitoring APIs
Our "SOAP - Performance Monitoring APIs" service shutdown and restarted itself twice within 5 days. Would someone know what this service is dependent on, why might it be doing this and what are the best steps to stop this from happening?
Sounds like you're hitting something similar to Bug ID CSCul26251
There's no fix and the only workaround is to disable the service.
