Crashed while answering phone call

I got a call from my son. My iPhone was charging on my computer while he called me. I went to unplug it so I could answer the phone and suddenly the iPhone shuts itself off for 7 minutes then reboots itself. I don't know why that happened so I went into Settings>General>Usage>Diagnostics
I found it created a log that is as follows:
Incident Identifier: B61FE16E-F773-47B5-8C27-6970B1F8E675

Reset count: 0
Boot failure count: 15
Boot faults: rst vdd_under

Any idea why that happened?

My hopes were high, but after two weeks of testing I'm no better off.
My phone still fall out during most conversations, losing connection to the sim card for minutes, sometimes so repeatedly that I have now almost given up using it. I have noticed that it happens less often when using the hands free function, making me think it might be a loose connection since this malfunction only happens when I hold it to the ear - and as far as I know does not happen when the phone is not in use (with the phone next to me I would at least once in a while spot the display light up when it reconnects to the sim card).
I had high hopes on the suggested 3G setup change, so thank you even if it failed. It seems this nokia, considering that I've already had it serviced without result, is destined for the trash bin as soon as I get time to buy a new phone.
Kind Regards
Tycho

  • 3G signal disappears every time while making phone calls

    Hi all,
After my iPhone was updated to 4.2.1, the 3G signal disappears every time while I make phone calls, but if it is hooked up with WiFi then it would be fine. Does the same problem happen to anyone of you? Any suggestions?
    Thanks a lot

I have had similar problems. I-Phone worked beautifully for about 3 weeks the I started getting static on my end. I did some research and narrowed down the fact that the static was only heard on my end. It started just sporadically but is now about 85% of the time when Imake calls. It happens in multiple locations and cities. The caller on the other end never hears it. There is no problem with speaker phone or playing music etc...It happens when calling hard lines as well as wireless (ie...verified calls to Sprint, Verizon, Nextel wireless callers as well as Government Land Lines, Verizon home phone and Comcast Ip Phone callers) Stopped in to AT&T and they looked at me funny and suggested I ask Apple to replace the phone.

  • Secondary camera launches while answering a call

I have on occasion tried to answer a call and instead I am looking at a live image of myself in the seconday camera. Is it launching a video call without me wanting to (video calls not even supported in my area).

Magnets interfere with sensors on the phone.  The lens cover on some models (like the N97) is triggered by a magnet.
When another strong magnet is brought into contact with the phone it thinks that the lens cover is being opened.  When the cover is opened it launches the camera application. Because the lens is really closed the secondary camera activates instead.
So the phone is behaving normally until your magnetic clasp is brought into contact with it.
Your only option is to stop using that case, modify the case by removing the magnets (replace with velcro) or buy a new case that does not contain magnets.  Many non-official cases make the mistake of using magnets that are just too strong.  The cheaper chinese made cases are the worst offenders for using over strong magnets.  This can also lead to damage of your phone if exposure continues, such as memory corruption or screen failure. Battery life may also be affected.
This advice applies to many phones from many manufacturers. Whether you choose to follow this advice is entirely your choice.

  • Answering phone call got problem!!

After I update my iphone 5 to IOS 7.0.2, many times when I answering a phone call, it will auto open speaker. How come it will be like this? Previous version it didn't happen this at all.

Not sure why it would do that. You can try resetting your device. Sometimes that will clear up odd behaviour (nothing will be lost):
Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Silver Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen comes back up, see if the problem is resolved.

  • IPhone 4 audio unavailable when calling/answering phone calls.

When I place a call, or receive a call, I am unable to hear anything on the other end, and the other user can't hear me.
If they call and leave me a message, I can listen to that just fine. All other audio works - apps, music, voicemail, etc. I can even Facetime chat without problems, it's just my phone call that drops out.
I've tried the headphone trick, as well as compressed air, restarted, left off for long period of time, removed/reinserted SIM card. None of it seems to help. Any thoughts?

    Hi Friend,
Try to use the volume buttons to adjust it. Go to Settings>>Sounds, and check if Adjust Volume with buttons is turned on.
Check in Settings>>General>>Restrictions if there is a restriction for volume turned on. If yes, turn it off and set the volume limit as higher as possible.
The speaker is easy to break if wet, even wet for a little. My girlfriend's iPhone speaker broke with some drops of a drink.
Anyway, check if Restrictions is turned on, rebbot your idevice, be sure you have selected a pernonalized sound (ringtone) that works (change to a standard ringtone), check if "Do Not Disturb" is turned off.
Go to Settings >> Sounds and turn Adjust with Buttons on. In Message sound, be sure you set a standard Apple ringtone. Tap it again to listen the ringtone ringing. If not ring, well, your speaker probably has a problem.
    Hope it helps

  • IPhone 6 seems to crash when making phone call from Mac

When using my iPhone 6 Plus to make phone calls from the Macintosh, (initiating call from Mac Contacts app in Yosemite) the iPhone continually brings up the Apple logo and does a quick restart over and over again. The phone call, however seems to work, but it's just that the iPhone looks as if it's going crazy showing the Apple logo and then the home screen over and over again.  This had worked initially, but not anymore. Both iPhone 6 and MacBookPro up to date with updates.

If you never find an app that will do it then you could have a go at making one yourself-I don't think you need to pay Apple as long as you don't want to sell it.

  • Listening to music and answer phone calls

When i listen to music in the car connected by earphone output, when the phone rings, and i unplug the wire the phone call ends

if you leave the wire plugged in, you will be able to speak into the iPhone microphone on the bottom, and the phone audio will be continued through your car speakers. (this is what i am assuming will happen as i have listened to my iPhone through regular headphones, and when someone called me, they heard me through the iPhone mic since the headphones did not have a mic.)

  • 8300 Freeze and Crash While on Phone

I've had my 8300 since February or so and for the last several months it's been doing this thing where I am talking to someone, when suddenly they get cut off.  The screen is usually black at this point (because I wasn't using it anyways) but the red light at the top flashes a few times (though I don't necessarily have any messages), then the screen lights up and I get a turning hourglass.  This will stay like this for anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes, during which I cannot do anything (turn it off, even taking the battery out doesn't fix it, as it returns to doing it when I put the battery back in) aside from activate Caps, Alt, or Num Lock (not that those do any good, of course).  When it's done doing this, the Blackberry logo comes up and my home screen appears, giving me a message reading "Verifying Security Software".  After this, I can use the phone, but it doesn't have the memory of the previous call (in other words, it doesn't show up in my recent call list, nor does it remember who the last person I called was in my address book).
These freeze ups don't happen regularly at all, they're entirely random and I know I'm not accidentally pressing anything to cause it.
I've called tech support at both Blackberry and my service provider, neither of which were much help.  Even talking with the people I bought the phone from, they didn't have any idea what the problem was.
One tech support guy did ask me what my memory usage was like and he said it was fine, so it's not that the call is overloading it or something.
Any ideas?  I will GREATLY appreciate any help, as you might image this is really really aggrivating.  Thanks!

Mine does the same thing too..... screen goes black.  Often during a call but sometimes when using the browser or other applications.  After a few minutes the watch glass comes on and it basically reboots.  It seems to recover faster if I plug it in????? Although it still comes back without being plugged....and starts working again. So I don't think it is a battery issue unless the battery is losing charge for a few seconds.
I am on Rogers in Canada.
I reloaded the software and applications. It did not solve the problem.
It started happening when my 8310 Curve was about 1.5 years old.  It was occasional at first. Once every week or two. Now it happens 2 or 3 times per day.
When I reloaded everything from scratch, I did not install any 3rd party applications or restore any databases.  It did not fix the problem.
Only thing left to try is a new battery. Don't want to waste $50 bucks on a new battery if the hardware is faulty. Rather just buy a new phone.

  • How do I access the Calendar app while on phone call in iOS 7?

With the new IOS7 I wonder how I can access my calendar to schedule while I am on a call?

    2 ways:
Press the HOME button, then launch the calendar app.
Double-press the HOME button, then tap the screen image of the calendar app.
Neither of these should disconnect the call (I just tried it).

  • I am looking for a device that will answer phone calls on my Mac. I have had a Phonevalet, and it is great, but it is no longer made.

I am looking for a device that will answer a landline phone. I have a Phonevalet, which answers, takes messages, has call block and is pluged into my Address Book, but it was discontinued, and I would like to add another line. Ovalabs made a similar device, but it also is gone. Is ther a way to use an Apple Modem to take calls? Any other product? The best part of the PhoneValet for me was it would announce the caller ID over my stereo (pluged into my Mac) and I could hear who was calling in my workshop and decide if I wanted to interupt the call.

I know I'm talking about expensive apps, but having been in prepress for about 30 years now, I really don't look at anything other than Quark XPress or InDesign for page layout apps. Your printing vendor will also be much happier with you when you use these products. Some areas of the U.S. tend to be mostly Quark oriented; others, InDesign. Ask your vendor what they would prefer, and if there are any free or cheap alternative apps they'll accept documents from.
Apple's Pages app (part of iWork) is a decent page layout program, but hasn't been updated in four years. It also doesn't support CMYK. If you place a CMYK image in the app, it will export out an RGB version of it. Not good! You can work with RGB images if you prefer, but your CMYK translations will be left to the skill of the print shop you use to do the conversions.
Don't even think about using Word. It has what it calls a page layout option, and does pretty much work like one, but there's no good way to import it into a real layout app such as InDesign. You end up paying the printer for their time to rebuild your entire project in either XPress or InDesign so they can actually do something with it.

  • Google Hangouts Crashes While Sharing Screens in WebEx

I use Google Hangouts to make phone calls from my laptop. Recently, an update to WebEx causes Hangouts to crash while dialed into the conference line when anyone shares their screen. This effectively means that I cannot use Hangouts to dial into the audio conference while using WebEx.
There is a bug for this issue at https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCut16304/, but the status is marked as "Terminated" and there are no workarounds provided. Is there anything that can be done to keep Hangouts from crashing while on a call and sharing screens over WebEx?

    Hi Thomas,
If the issue is reproducible every time on your end, I advise you to call into WebEx Support 1.866.229.3239 and share with them your issue. This bug is closed as it wasn't reproducible, so maybe with your issue being reproducible they may be able to figure out what is causing it.
    I hope this will help.
