Crashes during loading

I have an upgrade of CS4. I have a top speed PC. I have to start by loading premiere 4.2 then adobe pro v 1 and then CS4. I have loaded it three times onto this PC successfully but when i try and run cs4 it quits halfway through loading. When I try and delete it - i get an error message telling me that photoshopserver.exe is running - which it is not. After a number of attempts i can delete to attempt andother loading. Is it possible that the discs are corrupted? If not do you have any suggestions. Premiere pro V1 loads and runs without error.
with thanks

  • Final Cut Crashing during loading and within motion tab

    Hi All,
I'm working on an older Imac (black back) and some towers and I have FCP7, CS4, and Avid MC5 installed on them. FCP is starting to crash on me in a couple different situations and I was wondering if anyone had a fix.
Pre cursor: I've already reinstalled FCP, trashed preferences, upgraded from snow leopard 10.6 - 10.6.3
Whenever FCP quits on load up, it's while directional blur is loading up. It gives me a laundry list of code.
When I do get FCP open, whenever I try to apply a simple speed change or basic motion it crashes on me as well. On top of that I can't open the Motion application.
I have some newer imacs (silver back) that haven't had this problem and I was thinking maybe it's just a graphics card issue? I heard that it might be a conflict between the FCP Suite and AE or CS4 in general also.
    Any Ideas?

So back to the question if the OS was a clean install or an upgrade. For the pro apps it really should be done as a clean erase and install of the OS and a clean install from the discs. Pushing the software to multiple machines can cause problems. The only way this has worked for us in large training installations is to make a disk image for the whole system, including a clean erase and install of the OS, and then pushing the whole system and apps onto wiped drives.

  • Windows support software crashes during load

Ok fellas, 5 days and counting. I  have tried for 5 days to get the Windows support software to load and so  far...no joy. I have a Mid-2009 MacBook Pro, running Mavericks, 8 GB of  RAM, PLENTY of HDD space and 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors.  Should be a piece of cake right...nope.
Each  time software support setup dumps at approximately the same spot,  somewhere around the MacHAL.sys or Apple time services. I have the  Windows 7 disc with the iso image, I have an 8 GB USB flashdrive and  Windows 7 installed on the partition.
I  do not have the original software disc that came with my MacBook, that  is in a box somewhere between my current location (not Okinawa) and  Okinawa.
I  hope I have provided enough information for one of you Mac Geniuses out  there to tell me what to do. This is the first time I have not been  able to solve an issue with my MacBook...again, no joy.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the reply Bob.
I am trying to install 4.0.4033 version of Windows support software downloaded from Apple. I did find a copy of OSX Lion I had made when I upgraded to that version but I am not sure if that will work or not. I have tried many, many things but it always does the same thing, crash when it gets to KeyAgent Services or MacHal.sys ... somewhere around there.
I did read somewhere that the Mid-2009 MacBook Pro has a 64 bit architecture but the support software does not allow installation of the 64 bit parts...odd.
    Again, thanks for the reply.

  • Final Cut Pro crashes during load screen.

When I open FCP, the loading screen comes on. During the loading, FCP closes. There is no error message.
I have already tried the two solutions posted as announcements on the top of the FCP forum:
    1. I have deleted unnecessary Quicktime components from (Library>Quicktime).
    2. I have downloaded the most recent software update.
Thanks for any suggestions you might have,

A solution from an earlier post solved my problem. I deleted the Final Cut Pro preferences ("Final Cut Pro 5.0 Prefs") (MAC HD> Library> Preferences> Final Cut Pro User Data). FCP opens now.
Here's the post where I found the solution:

  • App store crashes during load - 3GS

I was having several issues, iPhone crashing, apps with the wrong icon and the App Store crashing.
A restore has apparently fixed the first two, but not the app store crashing. It gets to the "loading" screen for a few seconds and returns to the home screen.
Anyone else having the issue? Any fixes?

Try doing a reset, don't worry this isn't a reinstall and won't delete any data. Hold down the sleep and home button, disregarding the power off slider, until the screen shuts off. Let go of the buttons, wait a few seconds, then press the sleep button to power the iPhone back on. Let me know if that fixes the problem.

My iPhone has crashed during a sync and now I can't restore from backup as it is asking for password to load the backup yet neither the lock code for the phone or my iTunes Password are working... I have no other password to call upon and need the restore to retrieve info onto my phone, I am a real novice to this...... please help, !!!!

If anyone else is looking for a solution to this same problem, I was able to get it working looking through several older discussions.
The solution was to use the password that I had on my iTunes account the very first time I set up the iPhone about a year ago.  I changed my iTunes password about 10 months ago;  but apparently, the backups continue to use the password that existed when the phone was first set up.
A couple of troubling things with this are that 1) I didn't apply a password when I did the backup this afternoon so I don't understand why it was required when I did the restore a few hours later. and 2) it makes zero sense why iTunes would not be smart enough to use the current accout password when requiring the password to restore from a backup made with no password.
I thought iTunes and Apple were smarter than that.  With so many posts stating exactly the same problem, it is clear that this is bug in the software.
    Best,
    Craig

  • Flash Builder 4.5.1 for Mac hanging/crashing during startup "Loading Workbench"

    Hello,
I'm having ongoing trouble with Flash Builder 4.5.1 hanging/crashing during startup.
Sometimes the following Terminal command fixes the issue:
    cd ~/Documents/Adobe\ Flash\ Builder\ 4.5/cascaded/308971/configuration/.settings
    rm org.eclipse.ui.ide.prefs
However this isn't a silver bullet solution, and sometimes the only way is to uninstall and reinstall FB4.5.
But this is a major hassle, especially after 3 or 4 times!
I am running Mac OS X 10.7 and have updated to FB 4.5.1 Premium and also installed Subversion/Subclipse as well as the BlackBerry PlayBook SDK.
Problems seem to occur when working in SVN projects.
I have also noticed that the Delete and Arrow keys and Right Click fails to work sometimes also.
Is there a way to reset / clear FB 4.5 Prefs / Workbench?
    Thanks,
    David Douglas

Delete the Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 folder from your Documents (assuming you don't have anything valuable in there). That seemed to work for me, as I don't keep my projects in there but there were some temp files that were breaking it. You'll probably have to re-inport your projects.
Adobe, I'm getting very sick of your (expensive) products wasting my time.

  • How can i fix my mac book pro. My safari crashes all the time, my screen will turn black for no reason, My iPhoto crashes during upload from my iPhone, I can't highlight anything and I can't drag anything.

Someone PLEASE help me! I cant figure out what is going on with my computer.  I don't install anything weird, but my brother does.  He's very good at computer tech stuff and is in I.T, but I cant help but blame him for all the problems my Mac is having.  Nothing works like it should.  My safari will randomally crash, my screen will randomally turn back, my iphoto will crash during uploading from my iPhone, I cant highlight anything, I can't drag anything.  When I want to click on something, I have to click over and over again just for it to even register.  I know everything is up to date and recently reset my PRAM.  I'm running Lion and have a lot of room on my hardrive.  I have an external harddrive and I'm wondering if I should just move all of my important files over to it and completly wipe out my computer's hardrive and start from scratch.

Some folks can't leave well enough alone, and insist on downloading all sorts of additional "stuff" that ends up making their Mac unstable.
Standard Mac OS X on properly-operating Hardware does not crash, unless you start installing too many add-ons.
You can run "just the basics" by holding down the Shift key at Startup. This does one pass of Disk Repair, then loads a minimal set of extensions, and comes up in Safe Mode. If it works OK that way, but crashes in "regular", it's the add-ons.
There ia another layer of add-on junk that can be added to Safari. If the only remaining problem is Safari crashing, those add-ons can be disabled as well.

  • LV crashes while loading my llb, but the built app. functions correctly???

Im hoping someone may understand the cause of the LabVIEW crash Im experiencing.
LabVIEW 6.1 crashes and Windows 2000 says, "LabVIEW.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows" when I try to load an llb by clicking on the top-level vi from within LabVIEW or when opening the llb from outside LabVIEW. It crashes while loading particular sub-vis of the llb. If I try to load the offending subvis directly, I also get the same crash. If I build the llb into an application, the build goes smoothly and the resulting application functions correctly. If I use a splash screen approach and do not load the offending sub-vis (by not opening vi references to them), they load-up fi
ne when the top-level vi loads and then I am able to edit and re-save any vi of the llb including the offending sub-vis. Ive tried re-saving the llb as a separate development distribution and still get the same crash behavior. Ive also tried saving the offending sub-vis to separate files outside the mother llb (after getting them open with the splash screen approach) and I get the same crash when I open these files. If I save one of the offending sub-vis as a separate llb, I cant get it open even with the splash screen approach. Ive loaded the latest video driver for my Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop and I get the same behavior on a Dell Dimension 8200 desktop that is also running Windows 2000 (Version 5 SP4). There are 110 objects in my llb that includes *.vis, *.rtms, and *.ctls.. Any ideas as to why/how this is occurring and how I can fix it? Is this a known 6.1 bug that is fixed in 7? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Ive included my splash screen like loader, f
    or what its worth. Thanks.

Thanks for responding. Your understanding is correct. Mass compiling was one of the first things I tried (although I failed to mention it). I also un-installed and re-installed LabVIEW. It crashes during mass compiling of the full llb, although the vi that it appears to be working on when it crashes is not an offender, i.e. I can open that vi fine. The crash during mass compiling is the same crash, i.e. Windows says it had to close LabVIEW because it generated errors.
Ive attached one of the offenders. It is missing many of its sub-vis so youll have to hit ignore vi a bunch when opening it. (The llb of it is ~2.6 MB. I thought that might be too big/rude to post.) This vi crashes LabVIEW upon mass compile or upon opening it (after hit
    ting ignore subvi a bunch).
I was going to attach an llb of another smaller offender, but in the process of editing it to be a little prettier and better documented, the problem kind of vanished for that vi. The main routine still crashes when I mass compile the full llb, but now I can open some of the old offenders without incident. I still cant open the main routine directly as it crashes LabVIEW. Thanks for your time.

  • CS5 apps crash during launch in XP

    Hi,
I just bought and installed CS5 Design Premium and can't get it to work, including Photoshop.  Most of the apps crash.  They crash during launch (splash screen) and therefore never get going.  Each app seems to display different error messages.  One common denominator seems to be something relating to scripting (not sure what that implies - plug-ins?).  The only CS5 apps that don't crash are Bridge and Media Encoder.
Upgrading to 12.01 didn't help.  I tried rebooting, uninstalling and re-installing.  I ran a system scan with Windows Defender and no malicious software was detected.  I run a very clean system so no unusual programs running in the background and what little I do run in the background, I exited from.  I hadn't run a previous version of Photoshop (or any other program in CS5) so there were no Photoshop plug-ins to uninstall.
I do have Lightroom 3 installed (huge image database), which I have not yet uninstalled (far from trivial IMHO).  Lightroom does have three plug-ins (all disabled) which are the Canon and Nikon Tether Plug-ins and a Flickr plug-in.  I don't know how to uninstall these or whether it would affect CS5.
As an example, when I launch Photoshop, I get the following error:
    AppName: photoshop.exe     AppVer: 12.0.1.0     ModName: scriptingsupport.8li ModVer: 10.0.0.0     Offset: 000d183a
InDesign fails as it says "updating Panels" and I get:
AppName: indesign.exe     AppVer: 7.0.0.355     ModName: support for javascript.rpln
    ModVer: 7.0.0.355     Offset: 00036183
    System Specs:
    3.4GHz P4, 4GB PC6400, 1.5TB SATA, Nvidia GeForce 6600 PCIe, Asus P5WD2-e Motherboard, XP Pro SP2
    I run Flash 10.1.53.64 and Quicktime 7.6.6, Java 6.0.2
When I launch Illustrator, it used to crash hard but now it stops while loading (Initializing Plug-ins, PDFFormat.aip) and displays a custom error dialog saying "Error loading plugins.  AISaveForWeb.aip DxfDwg.aip PGNFileFormat.aip.  Eventually it launches, apparently functional (haven't tested it).
    Any help appreciated, thanks!

Corporate users are often very conservative, as many needs must be met before a new system can be rolled-out.  The reasons for being so conservative are rooted in good business, and in many cases are quite justifiable.
I have a friend who works IT at a railroad company, and he regularly has to support Windows 2000 machines amongst the majority of their systems, which are XP.  He tells me what he and a whole team of people struggle with every day.  I've been there.  I administered systems for entire Engineering departments myself.  One of the things I ALWAYS made time for, however, was breaking in new systems and getting to know them.  As a result, our people always had near state-of-the-art systems to work with.  It was even a selling point when our managers interviewed someone sharp who they were trying to get to accept an offer:  Our work environment was second to none.
In recent times we are starting to see why staying with an ancient operating system instead of "biting the bullet" and moving up to modern technology is proving to be more and more expensive.
Brushing aside Vista - for a while - might have been justifiable, but...
Hours and hours to make something work on XP?  New roll-outs of XP systems?  In 2010?  Are you kidding?
All that time being wasted to get old things working could and should be spent on embracing the new, and figuring out how to make it sing on key.  People have now gone before you and can authoritatively state that Windows 7 can be made to work.  A darned sight better than its predecessors in many ways!
    Time is money.

  • Illustrator crashes while loading (Illustrator has unexpectedly quit message)mac

    Mac OSX 10.4.1 Tiger/Power Book G4 12"/Adobe Illustrator CS3 13.0.0
If anyone has had this problem, I have found a fix that worked. Illustrator has unexpectedly quit, crash during initialization of the program during loading.
In my case it was a font that I downloaded called ZEBRA that caused Illustrator to crash during this loading period. I had no Idea that corrupt fonts could effect the application in this way. I went through all of the steps that I could think of to fix this problem including, re-setting the preferences folder within CS3, running disk utility to reset user permissions, re-installing Illustrator and safe mode startup. I even created another user account to test and see if it was a user settings corruption. What I found was that Illustrator would open and function properly when using the newly created user account from startup. After this I ran the mac in safe mode from start up of my original user account. In doing this I was able to start Illustrator again without the crash occurring.
At this point I went to my font book application and tried to find a corrupt font. At first I hi-lighted all of the fonts and went to File-Validate fonts. This process gave me some fonts with errors which I then deleted from my font book. Again, I tried to open Illustrator and still the same error (Unexpectedly Quit). I then went to font book, hi-lighted all fonts and disabled all fonts. After this I tried to open Illustrator. Amazingly Illustrator loaded with no problem. Ok now I know the problem lies in a corrupt font. Evidently you can have a corrupt font and it not show up while validating fonts. In the end I had to go through all the user fonts and de-activated them, then try to open Illustrator to see which font was corrupt and delete it. It was a little easier to select a group to deactivate and then narrow it down to just one font.
In my case the corrupt font was ZEBRA that I had to delete. I downloaded this font online for free. So if you have this problem after downloading a font online, this is more than likely the problem. After this everything was back to normal
Sorry for such a long explanation. I hope this saves someone the time and headache I had to go through to fix mine.
    Thanks Mike.

Well I don't have that Zebra font, and I've just installed this for the first time. I have been troubleshooting this for many hours between yesterday and today, and I've tried every suggestion I've found in this forum and a couple of things not mentioned. I have no preferences to delete since it's never successfully opened, and I put in a help ticket with Adobe yesterday, but I'm frustrated because nothing like this has ever happened to me before in 24 years of doing computer graphics. So if anyone has any further suggestions not covered thus far, I'm open to them!
This is what I've tried so far:
Installation went fine. I registered and activated the software. First attempt (and every attempt) the software crashes at start up. I tried installing the updates, verifying my fonts, deactivating downloaded fonts, restarting the computer, and tried to open it in my alternate user account. I tried using the disc to uninstall and reinstall (3 times after the first). I tried opening the software in safe mode. I tried installing it in the alternate user account.
I am running Mac OS 10.4.11 Tiger on a G5 PPC with 92 GB free HD memory, 2.5 GB RAM, 2.1 GHZ processor. PS CS3 runs fine and is unaffected by any of this.

  • CS6 CONSTANTLY Crashing During Startup

I'm running the most current version of Premiere Pro CS6 on a iMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB and running OS X 10.9.4.   The last few days I've been experiencing at least 5 crashes during startup -"Sorry :-( a serious error has occurred and Premiere needs to be shutdown yadda yadda..."     As I have a massive project with a deadline around the corner I thought, screw it, as long as I can eventually get in, I'll just deal with the problem when I have time... fine. Well, now I can't even get the software launched. I've had to hit OK on that harbinger of death warning box and then Force Quit as it will just give me the pin wheel for days otherwise.  It's always when it's loading media that it crashes but never on a specific file, or even drive. There are a few dynamic links but nothing that hasn't been there for weeks, if not months. I've read through as many other forums as I can take and it seems most of them are still unanswered or at least extremely vague to a tech dunce such as myself. I've always sent the crash reports and would be happy to forward another along if provided a specific address...
