Crashes upon startup--every time!

Question

I click on the Safari application icon, the application opens for about .5 second and quits. This happens every time. What gives? Is there a way that I can reinstall Safari?

I take it from what you surmise that a new Webkit.framework won't alleviate this problem for we users of the latest Tiger update, which presumably contained the current files. If that's the case we're still in search of a solution.

Let's see...the problem is that your Webkit.framework
has missing files/incorrect referrers. Most likely
you are using an older version of Mac OSX than the
applications (that don't work) currently use.
Basically all that it comes down to is that you will
have to get the Webkit.framework folder again...the
most common place is found in the Downloads section
of Apple.com under Mac OSX updates, where the current
OSX version is the update that you want to download.
You can either just install the .dmg that you
downloaded or you can do it this way:
Right-click>Show Package Contents>Find a file named
Archive or find the biggest file there is> Open it>It
should decompress by itself>Look inside the folder
for the Webkit.framework and then copy it to your
System/Library/Framework folder.
