Crashes when downloading, didn't used to do it before the latest update, wont let me reset general.useragent as suggested, any ideas?

After I downloaded and installed the latest update, it will not let me download anything, it crashes.
I tried the things suggested in the troubleshooting and nothing worked, it wouldn't even give me the reset option on the general.username files.
What next?
Can I revert to my older version that worked fine?
I can download fine on Safari but prefer using Firefox.

You can restart your mini holding the command and R keys down to enter Lion recovery mode.

Do you know when this problem (for not being able to add new highlight/strikeout/underline) has started? Did you update your iOS from 7.x to 8.0 recently?

I figured out how to fix the microphone with texting!! I powered off my iphone. I don't know what caused the microphone to stop working, but it works now! Thanks for trying to help.

Before the latest update, while using Windows 7, I could click on the Firefox taskbar icon(at thebottom)and I'd get a new Firefox window regardless of how many I previously had open. Now, it doesn't do that. can anyone help?

Ever since the latest update, when I click on the firefox icon in my taskbar, I don't get a new browsing window when I used to be able to do so.
I've checked the tabs menu in the options, and I don't see a way of enabling this feature.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Im using Minefield on Win7 64 but it always crashed when i try to use it with xfire. The problem is with the xfire_toucan64_44036.xll. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm expreriencing the same conditions with the same environment. Windows 8, iTunes-64 11.1.2.32, iTunes Store with a processing bar up to 80 +/- and the POPUP MESSAGE OF "iTunes stopped working. The error ...."
I UNINSTALLED, iTUNES WITH NO POSITIVE RESULT. I CHECKED THE FIREWALL AND IS THE SAME DEFINITION AS THE PREVIOUS ITUNES VERSION.

I am running the latest version of snow leopard on my mac. Since the last update of Firefox, I have not been able to open any newly downloaded pdf's. I get a message that says "The file cannot be opened.
it may be damaged or use a file format that preview doesn't recognize."
When I download using Safari, everything works fine. I have been using Firefox for a long time and all of my bookmarks are in Firefox.

I also disabled adobe npapi plug-in and now the pdf files open as usual.

If it is asking for account details then it might just need you to confirm your account before it lets you proceed. Maybe the terms and conditions changed since last time or something like that. Try signing into your Apple account in iTunes on a computer first to check that. Then restart the phone and try again.

My Mac (10.5.8) has been crashing this week while using Firefox. The Firefox and Thunderbird updates are the only updates I can think of that are recent. Any ideas?

My whole Mac has crashed a number of times both yesterday and today. This is very unusual. I'm not positive it's because of Firefox's new update, but it seemed like a good guess, and it was usually when I was on various websites (I was going through a lot of emails from news lists and clicking on links). I use Thunderbird for email, and Firefox is my browser of preference. It crashed three times so far today, over several hours, and yesterday I guess it probably crashed about 6 times -- not sure.

My partner received an iMessage which states it is from me which I never sent. We are sitting watching tv and I was not even on phone when it was sent. I have searched my phone for the message in another app like what's app or viber but it's not a copy and I therefore am at a loss to understand it. Is it possible someone has access to my phone somehow?

If was an iMessage, and wasn't sent from your phone, it could have been sent from another iOS device you own (i.e. iPad) or from someone else's device if they hacked into your iCloud account.
Another possiblity is that your partner has another Contact entry with a different phone number associated with your name
Go to the message received > Contact (upper right) > Info (circled i) > the source ID will be highlighed in blue.
If there is any doubt, change your iCloud password.

Downloaded apps do not open and i have the latest updates. help?

I have recently bought on ipod touch 4g, Ive downloaded free apps from the app store and after about a day or two, i cannot open them, i click on them and they take me back to the home sceen. the only way ive been able to geet round this is to fully reset and redownload the apps but that only works for another few days.

Safari 5.1.2 opens two of every window when selecting "Reopen all windows from last session" since the latest update.

Since the latest Saffari update to 5.1.2, every time I close Safari and reopen, and select "Reopen all windows from last session," two of every window opens. I must go through a long list under the 'Window' menu and select one of eac pair and close them. What a hassle.

I can't get the music on my phone to play in my car any more: It played fine before the latest update, now when I hit the MP3 button on my car radio, it says "No Media found"

Before the last update, I was able to play the music on my LG 2 over my car stereo system via blue tooth. A week ago I attempted to play my music in the car while on an 8hr drive and it wouldn't play. Normally, I select the music widget on my phone and then press the MP3 button on my car stereo and the music plays in the car. This has happened since the last update. Did the newest update (a month ago) change something that is keeping my music from playing in the car now????

right, figured it out. had to put it in disk mode, then reconnect, then it was recognized, then i restored and put everything back onto it. hope this helps anyone else who has a similar problem
